Ghost Husband

Thinking about Marry my Dead Body and other ghost marriage stuff. In MmDB a guy ends up married to a ghost, because the grandmother was concerned her gay grandson died without getting married.

Could have an actual ghost hanging out, or maybe you're just married to someone assumed dead. Could be Astarion, or maybe Durge (maybe even some timeline/AU where they die around similar time, and are posthumously married to each other ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ).

Ghost marriage seems like something Bhaalists would be into, given their murder weddings. And I want an AU where Gortash gets ghost married.

What would it be like, getting abducted and unexpectedly meeting your ghost husband in the flesh? Maybe it's Tav/Astarion, or maybe Astarion heard about his family marrying him off, and is absolutely flabbergasted to recognise his spouse, Durge, is also not in fact dead.

Edit: Okay, just realised post-game could be Gale or Karlach, etc. 😭 but make it cute and ghosty

Edit: Ooh, ghost marriages as a way to bind the soul to the mortal plane/someone instead of whichever god or ne'er do well owns it. ie keeping Gortash, Durge, Gale out of their gods' hands, or interfering with a deal with a devil who owns your soul, etc.
