I don't know who I was trying to kid pretending that I wouldn't jump at the chance to meet Joe Keery if he showed up less than a two hour drive away from where I live. So to Comic Con I went and I had the best time!
I got to ask a question during his panel, which was nerve-wracking, but I was so happy I worked up the courage and actually got to the front of the line in time. I asked him "Steve complains he's always the goddamn babysitter. Is there anything you feel like you'll always goddamn be?" And he said eating, because he's always hungry 😄
Then I went for a selfie with him. I had made a bookmark for him and I asked if it would be okay if I gave him something. He said yes, and I did 😊 I explained that I embroidered (what I hoped was) the Chicago skyline on the front, and he said, "Oh yes, there's the bean!" Said I was glad he recognised it 😄 and on the back, I put his lyrics "You take the man out of the city, not the city out the man." He seemed to like it and even looked a bit touched, and he said that he was gonna use it on his flight back 🥰
The person taking the photo (so much for "selfie") then asked if he would like to hold it up for the picture, and he said "absolutely". And that was it! I'm so glad I got to meet him, he really is the nicest and even more handsome in person!
