only Geomi's eyes are black, hes sort of like a spirit or demon, a spider spirit/demon to be exact, and is usually invisible to the human eye. Li is one of the very few humans who has ever been able to see him, and Geomi (tho nameless at the time) feels great love for Li, and decides against eating him to instead woo him. Of course, it wont be easy
Li saw Geomi outside his apartment window down below on the concrete, eating another spirit and ripping it apart with his teeth, thoroughly terrifying Li. He locks his window and tries his best to forget what he saw but he cant, and the next day, Geomi comes knocking at his door. Hes 6'9 and is slender with ink black hair and pale skin, and enters the apartment when Li's roommate opens the door to Li's horror. Geomi tells the roommate that he is their new roommate, a sort of hypnosis taking over and the roommate seeing nothing wrong with this and just lets him in
Li flees to his room where Geomi scratches at the door asking to be let in, terrifying Li. Knowing he had no way out and Geomi wouldnt be held off by the door for long, and exits through the window thinking he can make it to the next apartment over along the ledge. On his way he finally hears the door click open, and when he looks down, sees terrifying spirits clambering to get to him, wanting to eat him, and out of fear slips, thus leading into the comic.
Li is korean, and after learning (sort of) what Geomi is, starts calling him Geomi because hes uncreative.

an introductory guide to cho namkyu. he’s got a younger sister named jade; his twin. he’s only ten minutes older but he holds it over her head and is very protective of her - she actually used to go to this school, but she got homesick and moved back to california -- that’s where they’re from. he knows about ten words in korean, and that’s hello, goodbye, thank you, please, what to call his grandparents, and spider. ‘geomi’ is how you say spider, which namkyu knows mostly because he had a pet taranchula when he was growing up by the same name. he’s always been a bit strange - a soft boy with a bit of mischief lurking beneath the surface. he’s horribly shy - had to forego his dream of acting because he cracked under pressure time and time again, but he ended up finding cinematography in the process, which is his major now. he’s an aesthetic king - blows his money on designer clothes and salon visits and uses the rest of his money scraped together to buy ramen and other cheap groceries. he has a tiny little nose ring and he rides a bike most places, not fond of public transports or traffic, and definitely incapable of driving. he loves horror films and he’s the very definition of the sensitive bitch a pisces can be. he doesn’t have a lot of friends (well, he didn’t, before accidentally joining the fuckboy squad) but he values the ones he had. he’s only recently accepted the fact that he’s bisexual, but he’s trying to really own it, now that he knows what he is. he’s already told his family and, by the grace of god, they’re accepting of it. he feels like he’s really starting to come into his own person; he’s finding happiness. which is why we need to ruin that, dsfhslfdkh.
