One week of night vision
Tumblr media
Hi guys, so this weeks post is going to be about my thoughts after owning my night vision for a week. So ever since I got the night vision, I have taken it out every single night since getting it from Brownells and there are a handful of things I feel like I should mention in this post. Things being stuff that I thought was going to be true that I found out we’re not and things that I, just happen to notice while using it. That being said, let’s get into it.
First things first, I didn’t realize how much the weather played a role in using a vision. The day that I got my PVS 14 we just so happen to be in a new moon phase so there was absolutely no moon visible. That being said, I was still blown away the first time I use this, even though it was the worst night to be using night vision. Things like ambient light from more populated locations or even just the moon make a huge difference in using night vision. One more thing to consider is cloud coverage, so I’ve been using mine primarily in the woods where it’s already darker, but then you add no moon and cloud coverage, and it’s very dark, but yet I was still amazed by the performance of this nightvision device.
Tumblr media
The second thing I want to talk about is movement under night vision. Initially, I thought this was going to be a very hard task from everything I’ve ever heard before but to my surprise it was actually very easy. Walking through the woods and on trails and even walking around in my pole barn with a bunch of junk all over the place , I didn’t have any issues with doing that. I think the main thing to keep in mind when you’re doing this is remember that you’re wearing a night vision device and remember that your senses are a little bit decreased and then you should be fine. I do think it’s very important though to get out and walk around and move and do things with your night vision before you expect to be some high tier operator with it.
Tumblr media
Next up is going to be the night vision accessories that I have mounted on my rifle and pistol. Initially, I didn’t really know what to expect with this. When using the sionyx camera and looking at my IR output, I wasn’t blown away with the performance of any of the items that I chose. But once having proper night vision in hand, they work far better than what they look like on the camera. Obviously, just like with all civilian illuminator devices I wish the illuminator on my holosun had a little bit more power behind it. But the laser itself has been fantastic. The Modlite ir850 light head is ridiculously powerful, and will basically light up the woods for as far as you can see, and then that brings me to the streamlight vir2 that I have mounted on the Glock 44. Overall, I’m very happy with that for the price and it comes in that I think it’s a fantastic option. It throws a fair amount of flood which is nice for a pistol and the laser itself is very easy to pick up as well. I’ve been very happy with all the choices that I had made in the IR department.
Overall, the biggest hurdle with us is just getting the night vision itself. Once you do that, then you can figure the rest out very easily. Like I mentioned earlier in this, I got mine from brownells, which I will have links down below to check them out. Along with all of my IR devices as well You can use code BOP10 to save a bunch of money over there on this stuff.
Anyways, if you made it here, thanks for reading night vision is super cool, and I highly recommend trying to get some for yourself because being able to see in the dark is an amazing feeling.

Huge shoutout to the boys at @brownellsinc for all of their support. I’ve shopped at Brownells ever since I started my infatuation with firearms because they have just about everything needed. . Eventually, I became a part of their brotherhood known as the “Bureau of Propaganda” or “BOP” and couldn’t have been happier. For those who don’t know, it’s a random selection that Brownells makes where they welcome in 2A supporters/advocates that promote our hobby in good light. . Anyway, this post was meant to serve as a huge thank you to my friends over at Brownells for all of their support through the last couple of years and to thank them for this @geissele Super Duty setup you see here. This is the Brownells Exclusive with all parts sourced from Brownells. (at Fort Bragg, North Carolina) https://www.instagram.com/p/Ck_SeEMJSEH/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

The New Black? FDE or ODG?
Let’s face it… a black AR-15, although a timeless color for Stoner’s rifle or America’s rifle is a bit of yesterday. Most any place you look, you’re going to see AR-15 rifles as well as other AR style rifles in many different colors. Personally, I’ll take them however I can get them BUT if I had a preference, which color would I choose if given the choice?
Tumblr media
Prior to our military spending a bunch of time fighting conflicts in the desert parts of the world, such as Iraq and Afghanistan, we focused mostly on the greener parts of the planet….forests and jungles. OD Green or ODG as it’s commonly called fits that role perfectly. We’ve always tried to color or camo our rifles to our surroundings in military conflicts. During the Vietnam war, ODG uniforms and tiger striped uniforms were the norm and America’s newest rifle was just coming on the scene. I can’t remember any tan or desert toned rifles back in the 1980’s, but rather greens were common. Once we got into the 90’s and had some conflicts over in desert areas, did you start to see the M16 and M4 variants start to get tan colors painted on them. These desert tones have seemed to have stuck around!
Tumblr media
I’ve done a number of camouflage finishes on some of my personal firearms using tan and green colors using Brownells Aluma-Hyde firearm finishes. Aluma Hyde is an easy way for the home user to achieve a Cerekote like finish, but without having to purchase a bunch of special equipment. Brownells offers various shades of tans and earth tones, but only one shade of green and that’s OD Green of course.c
Tumblr media
Today when looking to purchase an AR type firearm or part/accessory…most every manufacturer makes said part or firearm in both FDE and ODG. Take Geissele for example. You can get their version of FDE called DDC(Desert Dirt Color) or OD Green. They even have a Bazooka green. Aero Precision also has similar color choices with their parts and rifles. FDE and Black are the main colors they offer, with their monthly builder sets in some sort of a camouflage finish and the occasional OD Green. Weapons light manufacturers and even optics manufacturers have even gotten into the game. Eotech makes their popular holographic optics in multiple colors and Modlite, a well know weapon light manufacturer also makes their lights in multiple colors. Typically, colors other than black will sell out the quickest.
Tumblr media
So which do I prefer, OD Green or FDE? Which one of these IS the new black? I think that each of them have their following. Some people just have to have that OD Green…they seek out everything they can find in that color while others navigate towards FDE and variations of. Truly it seems to me that either of these have the attention and can be considered the new black, but FDE seems to be the more prevalent out in the open market. Since I have firearms in both of these shades, there is no clear winner in my collection, BUT I have been spotted with more and more FDE as of late.

FAQs Distracted Driving Awareness Month April 2021
Tumblr media
Distracted Driving Awareness Month FAQs
What are the four types of distractions while driving?
The four types of distractions are Visual 13 looking at something other than the road. Auditory 13 hearing something not related to driving. Manual 13 manipulating something other than the steering wheel. And Cognitive 13 thinking about something other than driving.
How common are distracted driving accidents?
Each day in the United States, approximately nine people are killed and more than 1,000 injured in crashes that are reported to involve a distracted driver.
What are the dangers of distracted driving?
Whether you take your eyes off the road or your hands off the wheel, all types of distracted driving increase your risk of car crashes, major injuries, and even death.
Put down the phone and pay attention; April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. According to a phone company survey, almost 100% of teens agree that texting and driving is dangerous, but half admitted to doing it anyway. It may take only a matter of seconds to glance at your phone, but, if you are driving at 60 miles an hour, your eyes were blind to the road while you drove the length of a football field. Please don 19t text and drive.

Carbine course prep
All right guys so this weeks post I wanted to make about what I’m doing to prepare for a carbine course that I am taking this month. This post isn’t meant to be a exact formula for what you should do. It is more meant to be a way to show what I’m doing and maybe to get an idea of what would work for you.
The first step is to head over to brownells and grab yourself a case of rifle ammo, and use code BOP10 to save some money on that. I grabbed a case which was perfect. They gave me 500 rounds to train with over the couple weekends that I have before the class. And then it gives me 500 rounds to take to the class.
The course that I’m taking is through MDFI which is a local company here in Michigan to me that offers a ton of really cool firearms training at various locations in Michigan. The class and I’m gonna take us their foundation carbine. Luckily, I was able to find a foundation qualifier PDF file on their website so I can get a little bit of a Headstart on that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Overall, I really like this, because all four of the shooting drills in my opinion are very useful even outside of just preparing for this class. Next weeks post is going to be about another very good training aid that I highly recommend picking up. All four of the shooting drills have a par time of six seconds, which is very easily achievable, even while taking your time And making good well-placed shots. There is also a qualifier target that is printable in the same PDF file that prints on just a single sheet of paper. It is supposed to be shot from 15 yards which seems like it is very close but you can easily shoot outside of the box from this distance.
For me, I have found this very useful to do as a preparation for this class. I’m sure there is tons of things that I’m going to learn in this class that will make this even easier to do. But I think this is a very good start for anyone that wants to just be prepared to go to their first rifle course.
Tumblr media
As always big thank you to brownells for being such an awesome company and helping out tons of people like myself. They carry tons of awesome parts optics, complete firearms, etc. and as always the links will be down below to them along with the coupon codes to save you some money.
Thanks for reading.

Learn More: https://ift.tt/39RGEpt Visit our website: https://tscourses.com/ 1.Welcome and Overview All right, doing overview here of what you’re going to learn in the master class as well as some of the differences between the Master Class, and what you got in, the first Corso first fall one question I get all the time, if you only bought the master, class width, you get everything you need in it, and the answer is yes so, i did put a lot of, the basics from the first course into this Mass, class here so, i do recommend that, you still start with the first course if you can, okay, because obviously, start with the first course and then go into this Mass, master Class you’re going to get the full picture of everything you need to, make this happen, but if you don’t have the money for that or whatever you just jumped into the Master Class, that will still be okay it’ll still be enough, Because I took a lot of the, beginner information that you need to know how to set up the channel how to set up ads, kind of the overview, what we’re doing with this method, i’m all of those things I did put in, discourse as well so you will still get the basic, things that you need, tom and so you know you will be okay if you just, ascot the match, what we’re going to be learning in this master class, you didn’t get in the first course will be, first of all how to edit videos right so, i’m in the first course I talked about how to you, use only Creative Commons, concentrate, turn this Youtube Advanced Masterclass course we’re going to talk about how you feel, can you use other videos that are not, And still be able to edit them to, to be able to, but you know legally reuse them, okay so that’s what we’re here to talk about this one certain talk about how to make, make your own intro, how to take out intros from other videos, what you got, how to make your own watermark, how to cover watermarks, and take out watermarks that other, people have on their videos, which are those little pictures that are on, the actual video, don’t talk about that we’re going to talk about, how you can make montages, can edit other montages, you found from YouTube, basically, overview of how you’re going, you actually, use videos that are not, so in the first course I go over all about only Creative Commons, i’m internet first course is also going to show you a lot of, giờ tactics Howard actually, Rank videos how, … 2.Overview Of My Secret Money Making Blueprint Alright so now we’re going to go over the overview of a, exactly what it is that we, okay because, you know I’m going to start with the overview the nutshell is exactly what it is that we’re doing kind of in an overview fashion and then, of course I’m going to Deep dive into all of these things and how you actually do it, and how you actually, be successful with it, i’m in all of us, things later in the course but this is just kind of, basic overview, geissele, $60,000 + 27, 19 and over 400000, 2018 using the same exact method, that I’m teaching you guys, it’s okay, and so the main method is downloading and reposting V, okay and bass we were going to find these, xVideos directly, from YouTube and I will show you how to find it from other, resources, and then put the main things are downloading, roasting videos, I’m and then, the reason why it’s actually legal in, acceptable to do this is because of a license called Creative Commons, it’s okay if you don’t know what that is that’s fine I’m going to show you and talk about all about what it is, and how you find those, using things like that but, i’m basically, creative Commons, waves copyright, so anybody who uploads their own creation on YouTube, as Creative Commons is giving you the right to reuse, cases Creative Commons reuse allowed, they’re giving you, the right, to reuse these videos so there’s no legal ramifications, i’m at a course I’m not a, legal expert, and so anything that you do I’m not, taking credit for or any legal obligation anything you do is up to, do what you do, From my understanding in my, experience, there is no issues with using Creative Commons video, okay, i’m so get out of the way first, i’m in so in order to do this you’re going to need to monetize Channel, also Bass, basically there is a review process, so you need a thousand, subscribers do you need 4000 watch hours, hours which is 240000... by TSCourses

Sometimes…the Right Part Doesn’t Work
Tumblr media
I like to think that I know a thing or two about the AR-15 platform. Having built many a rifle over the years, I seem to always learn something else when putting a new build together. You would think that if you accumulated a list of parts, even if from different manufacturers they would all work together. But sometimes that isn’t always the case. Because of this, I always try and keep some spare parts on hand to assist with troubleshooting when test firing a new build. Recently I helped a buddy put together a nice AR-15 build using an extensive parts list from Brownells. When going through the parts list, most of them were standard affair parts manufactured by Aero Precision. My buddy ordered his Aero Precision M4E1 stripped upper and lower receivers from Brownells along with an Aero lower parts kit, Aero Pro bolt carrier group and the Geissele Rapid Fire trigger. Because this was his very first AR-15 build, he didn’t yet realize what barrel, handguard, optic or furniture he wanted. So once we got together, I showed him some options and he opted for a Magpul LS stock, Brownells Wrenchman LW handguard, Ballistic Advantage lightweight Hanson barrel, VG6 Epsilon muzzle brake and the Primary Weapons buffer tube. For the buffer we went with a standard carbine weight buffer and a SpringCo standard carbine buffer spring. For the optic he went with the Brownells MPO 1-6 Donut and Magpul MBUS3 backup sights.
Tumblr media
Once all of the parts showed up from Brownells, we got met up and I helped him with getting everything together. Assembly went without any issues. I spent the extra time to quickly lap the receiver face and bed the barrel extension. After a couple of hours we were ready for a range test. During our range test, I typically test the gas system for proper bolt lock on the last round in the magazine. This rifle would not lock back after the last round. Sometimes this can happen the first few rounds until the gas system seals up, but this wasn’t the case. The ejection pattern was in the 4-5 O’clock position so my thoughts were it was either undergassed or the buffer system had too much weight. A standard carbine buffer and spring are always a good starting point with a 16” midlength gas system AR-15. I carry with me an adjustable buffer and I lightened it up to around 2.2oz. Your standard carbine buffer is 3oz. With the lighter weight buffer, it started functioning perfectly fine, so I got to thinking about that SpringCo buffer spring we were using and upon further inspection, the fine print stated that it was for a carbine gas system. I then swapped out the SpringCo spring for another spring and put the standard carbine buffer back in, the rifle functioned perfectly.
Tumblr media
This was a bit of a learning experience for me. This was the first time using a SpringCo buffer spring as the standard ones were out of stock. SpringCo springs are know to be great quality, but they have various spring weights for different applications. Even though this was labeled as for a carbine, they meant a carbine gas system, not a midlength gas system. Lesson definitely learned with this experience!

Pvs14
Hey guys, so this weeks post is very exciting to me. It has been a long time coming. That being said, I finally ordered my PVS 14 night vision monocular from brownells.
Tumblr media
So I figure in this post I will go through what you can expect if you order one of these and also go through what all it comes with and my first impressions. Next weeks post will be my one week of only night vision and I will explain everything that I either found out or realized what I thought. I was wrong after using it every single night since getting it.
So originally I placed my order and on the Brownells website, this is a ship from manufacture item. So with that being said, it typically takes longer to receive it I contacted customer service and asked what the leadtime was and I was told by someone that it will be 4 to 8 weeks which I kind of expected , so I wasn’t surprised at all. What had me surprised was when I got a text from FedEx saying that a package from the manufacture was going to be delivered three days later. I’m not sure if that was just a fluke thing or if this is what you can expect, but I was very pleasantly surprised to receive it very quickly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Overall, the contents of the package are pretty standard. Across-the-board you get a pretty nice bag that houses everything you get your full manual, your spec sheet a couple of accessory’s, and then the night vision monocular itself originally when I ordered this I was a little concerned at if it was going to be a quality tube or not considering it is a site mark product And I couldn’t find a whole lot about them online. But again I was very pleasantly surprised when I got eyes on the spec sheet and realize it was actually a extremely nice tube and it definitely shows when using it. Overall, it’s all very standard nothing weird with the housing or controls comes with the J arm mount, so I was able to use my rhino mount that I have on my ops core helmet.
So like I originally said, I was very surprised at how good the spec sheet was with this tube and I have really been enjoying using it. Like I said earlier, I have used it every night since getting it. That way I can do a very authentic video, explaining everything that I experienced with it after the first week. Night vision is definitely a game changer, and in my opinion, there is absolutely no comparison between this and a digital night vision device. I do still plan on grabbing another mount to do a budget night vision versus analog night, vision comparison using my Sionyx aurora as a night vision device like a lot of people show that they do online. But before even doing that, I can tell you it’s going to be a night and day difference from what I’ve already seen with both of them.
Tumblr media
Like I said, in the beginning this post is telling how my experience went and showing what all you can expect when ordering one of these. Check out the links down below. I have a lot of cool video ideas and other content that I’m going to be doing with this. And as always check out Brownells using the link down below. They are huge supporters of everything I do, and without them things like this would not be possible for me to do.
Thanks for reading!
