re: the timeloop post: what i *am* enjoying about in stars and time so far is that the grief around which the time loop is based appears to be pre-emptive, as in the knowledge that you will inevitably depart from the people you care about, rather than a retrospective grief. or: this is the last time it'll ever be the same again, even if no-one is dying - of course they'll beat the bad guy, that's a key convention of the genre and really the only logical endpoint, but what comes after that is, in some sense, Worse. do you get me

Heads up- today’s Creator Day on itch.io—all money spent on games goes to the devs, and many creators are running sales!
If you’ve had your eye on a game, now’s a fantastic time to check whether it’s on sale. There are some fantastic indie games on sale right now, many of them solo or solo-playable (including the game I’ve been playing lately, Ironsworn: Starforged)

A compilation of fun games I've learned from Tumblr
Hey you. If you're a little like me, you've found plenty of fun and unique games lying around here on Tumblr and you want to try all of them. So, especially for you, I've compiled all the games I have found in my short time here on Tumblr, enjoy:
Paranoia
This can be played with any number of friends, but is most fun if you're with more people.
Everyone sits in a circle, and whoever goes first whispers a question to the person on their right. You can make it as civil or unhinged as you like and/or have first agreed upon with the other players. The person who got asked the question now has to answer it out loud. Then, the game suggested a flip-flop, but you can use anything in range, is flipped in the air. If it lands
Face up: the asker has to say their question out loud
Face down: the question will forever be shrouded in mystery and shall never see the light of day.
You can modify it however you want but imo the game is the funniest if the questions concern people in the circle.
Think About It
This is a really easy game to play but lord above it has got to be one of the funniest ones on this list.
The number of players really doesn't matter with this game I've found.
One person is given a random topic, such as doughnuts. Then they have the task of making up an elaborate conspiracy theory about a given topic, and they can go as wildly as possible. The only requirement is that you end your speech with "Think about it".
Illuminati
It's very similar to Think About It, but this time you get two topics and have to combine them with a conspiracy theory. The best one I've had was "Dino nuggies" and "Communism". Guaranteed fun for friends who cannot stop overthinking.
Roll Call
This game is the most fun in the dark and with many people. Trust me on this.
Also not a game recommended for people who scare quickly, unless you're into that stuff.
The gist of this game is that there's NO WINNING. You'll see what I mean in a minute.
First, you choose one person to be the 'kidnapper' and another to be the 'leader' (I'm making these terms up, I don't remember exactly what they were called and I'm lazy). The others just follow the leader in a train and wait for their fate.
Every now and then, the leader will yell 'Role call!' and everyone has to answer with their name in the order of the train. The leader can yell 'role call' as much as they want, but the game is considerably scarier if you don't yell it as often.
While all this is happening, the kidnapper occasionally takes the last person off the train and leads them away. You cannot resist or make any sound if the kidnapper decides to take you. As I said, there's no escaping or winning this game. Just waiting.
This also entails that if you suddenly realise that you're the last one on the train, you know that the kidnapper will take you next. This goes on until the leader yells, 'role call!' and no one answers.
Fun little extra: the kidnapper can also take the place of the last person on the train after kidnapping them. But they have to stay silent. Imagine the leader yelling 'role call!' and the person behind you staying absolutely still. Fucking terrifying.
The game ends when the kidnapper takes the leader of the group.
Have fun with this one. It's my favourite on the list.
Rollercoaster confessions
Now, this is a game you can play with as much people as you want, granted they'd fit into a rollercoaster of your choice.
The thing with this is that you go on a rollercoaster, and right before you make your first big drop you have to turn to your friend and tell them a ~shocking confession~ e.g. "I killed the Queen" or "I'm actually a dragon"
If you time it EXACTLY RIGHT they won't have time to react and immediately after the rollercoaster falls and everyone is screaming as if shocked by your dramatic revelation.
'tis the best.
Don't Get Me Started
This is a lot like Think About It and Illuminati, but with anger issues instead of conspiracy theories.
Basically, you give someone a random topic, and they have to go on an angry rant about it for a minimum of three minutes.
The more random the topic, the more fun you'll have to find things to be angry about.
Feel free to add your own!

Was doing some leveling in a mobile game so I'd get in game currency for the mobile dress up game I actually want to play and then the leveling revealed that you had to join an alliance. And that alliance had a chat. So suddenly I had to socialize with other random players, which already puts pressure on you when you want to level up fast, because you have to participate in events with an alliance to get more rewards.
Sure, you could just stay completely quiet and never engage first. Except this comes with the additional threat of people messaging you. And mentioning you in chat.
That's not what I signed up for!! I just wanted to get up to like lvl 17 or something for that sweet in game currency reward in my stupid, chill dress up game!! Hell, I'm supremely bad at messaging even my own friends and family!!!
And then of course there was also the threat of other players being able to raid you if you didn't pay enough attention, which according to the most recent message apparently would become even more of an issue due to server changes, meant the alliance leaders had messaged one of the regional top 10 alliances if we could join them for better protection. And I'm still here just wanting to quietly farm some levels, I didn't sign up for even more interaction and responsibilities??
So I uninstalled the app.
