You nervously fiddled with the hem of your shirt as you waited for Robin to arrive at home the coffee shop. Steve had told you that he wanted to break the news to her as soon as possible, and you had agreed, though you couldn't help but feel apprehensive about how she would react.
"Hey, there you are," Robin said as she walked in, waving at you. "What's up?"
"Hey, Robin," you said, trying your best to smile. "Steve wanted to talk to you about something... important."
"Uh oh," Robin said, looking a bit concerned. "What is it?"
Steve arrived a few minutes later, and the three of you sat down at a booth. Steve took a deep breath before speaking.
"Okay, so... Y/N and I have something to tell you," he said, glancing at you for support.
"What is it?" Robin asked, her eyes flicking between the two of you.
"We're... Y/N's pregnant," Steve blurted out, and you winced at his lack of tact.
Robin's eyes widened in surprise, and then she let out a whoop of joy.
"Oh my god, that's amazing!" she exclaimed, clapping her hands together. "Congratulations, you guys!"
You let out a sigh of relief, feeling the tension drain out of your body. You had been worried about how Robin would react, but she seemed genuinely happy for you.
"Thanks, Robin," you said, grinning at her.
"So, are you going to find out the gender?" Robin asked, leaning forward excitedly.
"We haven't decided yet," Steve said, looking a bit more relaxed now that the news was out in the open.
"I vote for a surprise," you said, feeling a bit more confident now that Robin had reacted positively.
"Me too," Robin said, nodding her head.
The three of you chatted for a while longer, discussing baby names and nursery themes. You felt incredibly grateful to have such supportive friends, and you knew that with Steve and Robin by your side, you could handle anything that came your way.
