And we also found 8 different pesticides. One of them is an ingredient used in shampoo that kills lice, and the other one is a fungicide known to cause endocrine disruption and hormone disruption in humans and wildlife at very low levels. So, clearly, this is not a great way to start your day with toxic chemicals, and we call on General Mills to get to the source of why their cereal is so contaminated and to do things like test fertilizers because we think that's the source of the heavy metal contamination. This is a very serious issue because heavy metals can cause neurological damage and developmental disorders that can be lifelong. So this is very serious. We are in a national physical and mental health crisis in America, and we need manufacturers like General Mills who have the resources to actually do something about cleaning up their the food supply and the products that they offer.“

Understanding the Essentiality of Macronutrients for Plants
Macronutrients are nutrients that are absorbed by plants in large quantities. These are found and needed in plants in relatively higher amounts than micronutrients. Macronutrients are essential for plants as they are readily absorbed and utilized for various physiological processes, including photosynthesis, protein synthesis, and overall growth. The macronutrients required by plants are carbon (C), hydrogen (H), oxygen (O), nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), sulphur (S), calcium (Ca), and magnesium (Mg).
Carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen constitute 90–95 percent of the plant’s dry matter weight and are supplied through CO2 and water; these are known as structural elements. The remaining six macronutrients are further subdivided into primary and secondary nutrients.
Primary nutrients: Nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium are the primary and important nutrients that are added to the soil at the time of sowing or after and during intercultural operations.
Secondary nutrients: Calcium, magnesium, and sulphur are considered secondary nutrients, which are given in later stages. These are added to enhance the quality of the crop and fruits.

Let’s understand the primary and secondary nutrients in detail:
Nitrogen:- Nitrogen is essential for the plant, right from sowing to the growth and development of the plant. It increases the vegetation of the crop and the size of the leaves, which enhances the photosynthetic activity of the plant. It also increases fruit growth and the production of seeds. Plant metabolism, chlorophyll content, nucleic acid and protein formation, carbohydrate formation, and photosynthesis occur in the presence of nitrogen.
Deficiency: The plants that are deficient in nitrogen are subjected to various conditions, like a decrease in yield and crop quality. Due to insufficient nitrogen, sufficient photosynthesis doesn't occur, and the lower leaves are subjected to chlorosis. This chlorosis results in slow growth, and the stunted nature of the plant is seen. The foliage of the plant turns pale green in color. Fields deficient in Nitrogen can be patchy or uniform in appearance.

The leaf expansion and leaf surface area are inhibited, the leaf becomes small, and the curling of the leaf is seen. Fruits become acidic in nature and have an acidic flavor.

Remedies: Calcium is an essential nutrient in the soil; the deficiency of calcium can be rectified by the application of Calcium Amino Acid, Soluble Sulphur with Calcium, Liquid Calcium, and Calcium Glycinate.
Sulphur:- This is essential for chlorophyll synthesis and protein symptoms. It is important for protein and amino acid activity. Nodule and seed formation improve the quality of crops. Coenzyme A and Vitamin B are formed using sulphur.
Deficiency: In young leaves, the leaves turn from green to yellow due to chlorosis. The entire plant may turn pale green. Plants deficient in sulphur have small stems and are spindly in nature. Maturity is delayed. Younger leaves are affected first.
Remedies: Sulphur deficiencies can be corrected using our Soluble Sulphur with Calcium and Soluble Mobilizing Bacteria.
Magnesium:- This is essential for the production of ATP, which is essential for the production of energy. It is the central molecule in chlorophyll, as the plant constitutes around 15-20% of total magnesium. Enzyme activity is seen in the cell; the formation of peptide chains is seen. The dark green color is present in the leaf due to magnesium. The uptake of phosphorus occurs, as does the formation of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Magnesium acts as a mobile element. Translocation always occurs from older leaves to younger leaves.
Deficiency: Yellowing of margins; the leaf turns reddish–purple while the midrib is still green in color. Interveinal chlorosis occurs in the leaf. This occurs first in older leaves, followed by younger leaves.
