One of the most common reasons I hear for people being against abortion is because “life is sacred.”
Really? Since when? When has life ever been sacred in this country?
If life is sacred, how come we don’t have universal healthcare?
If life is sacred, how come we don’t pass comprehensive gun laws so first graders don’t get gunned down in their classrooms?
If life is sacred, why don’t we offer paid maternal leave so mothers can actually take care of the babies that you are now forcing them to have?
If life is sacred, how come we don’t bat an eye when the police murder black kids?
If life is sacred, why do we have the highest maternal death rate in the developed world, which is only going to increase now that women are being forced to give birth?
If life is sacred, why is the death penalty even still a thing?
If life is sacred, why are we still encouraging violence against the LGBTQ+ community?
Life has literally never been sacred in this country. Maybe anti-choicers like to pretend that it is because it makes them feel righteous when in reality, they’re just misogynistic pieces of shit, but it’s not. And as long as psychotic, reactionary morons continue to steal power undemocratically and make decisions that the majority of us do not want, it never will be.

Well, this is actually not that surprising. It's enlightening and very telling actually, especially about these anti-choicers.

"If your mother chose abortion you wouldn’t be here. Think about that."
If my mother chose abortion I wouldn't have been here to be abused by her for decades. Think about that, cunt.

Ppl really fail at pissing me off or upsetting me in regards to being pro choice (aka correct)
“Oh so you’re in the baby killing fandom?” Sure. Idgaf. Honestly that’s funny as hell sounding bc uhhh abortion would mean that more babies could be born into healthy circumstances and therefore have happier lives. And you fucks don’t care about fully realized children getting slaughtered every day by gun violence, so if I’m pro baby killing, so are you
“I’ve worked at an abortion clinic and saw the guts of a six week old fetus” no you didn’t. A fetus that young doesn’t have guts. And SO?! I don’t wanna see someone get a lung transplant either because it’s gruesome but that doesn’t mean I think they should never happen. Have you ever watched a surgery? It’s horrific. But if it’s gotta happen, it’s gotta happen.
Honestly idgaf about whether something is alive or not. It’s not my fucking responsibility to keep another thing alive if I don’t want it. “So don’t have sex” okay what about rape, then? Or birth control fucking up? In any case, no one can force you to donate a kidney or even your fucking corpse, therefore you shouldn’t have to donate 9 months of hell, at least 18 years, hundreds of thousands of dollars, emotional turmoil, countless lost opportunities, sleepless nights, etc to a life you don’t want or care about.

"a safe outlet for pro-life people" is so funny. no safe spaces for pro life fucks, they need to be bullied more
I don't particularly like using the phrase "bully" when it comes to situations like these because I think it furthers their false narrative of victimhood. However I do agree that the idea of knobheads being entitled to a "safe space" to be knobheads in is absolutely outrageous?? They don't get to feel safe and secure in their hatred of human rights, actually. They should feel uncomfortable and unwelcome because of their beliefs. Disrupting their echo chamber is not evidence of their "victimhood" or our "hypocrisy" 🙄

Summary: How ridiculous the pro-choice vs anti-choice argument sounds like, in real life, using a skit about cake.

So I’m about three weeks post-op for my hysterectomy and I’ve been thinking about something a lot lately.
I have O- type blood, meaning I’m a universal blood donor. Anyone can receive my blood, and O- is in constant demand because of this. If there’s no time to blood test in an emergency situation, O- is essential.
I’m nearly 26, and I’ve never donated blood. Why? Because I’ve never been eligible. The guidelines for donation are extremely strict in order to protect both donors and recipients. You have to meet age requirements, weight requirements, sexuality requirements, and can be ineligible because of a host of health conditions, because of certain medications, having new tattoos or piercings, travel to certain areas, etc. You can get turned away for being even slightly anemic.
Blood donations save lives; just one donation can save three people’s lives. It’s relatively quick, mostly painless, and extremely low-risk. But we don’t force anyone to donate; it’s entirely voluntary. If I was required to donate blood as frequently as possible, I theoretically could save a dozen or so people a year, but we don’t do that because that would be a violation of my rights. We don’t force people who are ineligible to donate anyway because it still might save a life. We don’t try and pressure people into donation if they don’t want to. Nobody says “well if you didn’t want to donate blood, you shouldn’t have gotten your blood typed.” There are no fake blood donation clinics that coerce you into donating if you’re ineligible or uninterested. There are no incentives or bribes or remuneration to convince people to donate blood, aside from a juice box and maybe some cookies. We don’t make cis men donate every 56 days, or cis women every 84 days. We don’t let underweight or underage people donate. We don’t deny people certain medications because they might want/have to donate blood. We protect the privacy of blood donors.
Blood donations save lives, but we only allow people to donate under extremely safe and 100% voluntary conditions. Are there some legitimate problems with some of the requirements, especially those related to gender and sexuality? Yeah absolutely, a lot of them are super outdated and homophobic. But the point is that our society values personal choice and bodily autonomy, as well as the health and safety of the donors, over potential lives saved. The same principles of consent and bodily autonomy apply to organ donation. You can’t even remove organs from a corpse to use for transplants unless that person had consented while they were alive.
Before I went into surgery, I also had to sign a consent form that would allow me to receive a blood transfusion if it was necessary.
We don’t allow forced blood or organ donations, and we have pretty stringent requirements for blood donors, because we value safety, consent, and bodily autonomy over quantity of life. And yet, anti-choicers want to force people to undergo pregnancy and birth—a far more dangerous, lengthy, and painful ordeal—because “it’s a life.” A ten year old isn’t old enough to donate blood, but is apparently old enough to carry a pregnancy to term.
It’s pretty fucked up how when it comes to abortion rights, it seems like health and safety, consent, and bodily autonomy suddenly don’t matter anymore.
Also, please consider donating blood if you can.

Life has literally never been sacred in this country.
It ends up always making much more sense, and reactionary/regressive rhetoric in general, when you realize how much all of their values are built around an incredibly self-centered view of the world.
LIFE IS SACRED, but only based on what I define as life, and whose lives I deem sacred.
WE DESERVE FREEDOM, but only when it puts MY freedom above others, and the people I hate deserve enslavement and chains.
I CARE ABOUT PEOPLE, but only if they're in my social circle and they don't contradict my beliefs, or I'll toss them aside like garbage.
It's all pure me, me, ME with the fascists. They literally cannot care about anything without needing it to either be some vague symbolism or symbol that they can easily twist and warp to their own self-serving way of thinking, or only if it directly affects their own lives. And they know this deep down, and thus need to constantly control everything in order to maintain their cruel and egotistic fantasy, because they can't properly function in a reality that doesn't give two shits about them.
We might be both human beings, but reactionaries/regressives/fascists live in a completely different reality from sane people, and they're willing to drag us all down with them just to avoid facing the reality of how batshit horrible they really are.
Exactly, and George Carlin also did a great bit on the hypocrisy of the “life is sacred” argument (back in the 90s!!!!) It’s really sad to see how not only have these problems not changed, they’re just getting worse.

Here's another reason why abortion and other uterus-related rights aren't just a "women's issue":
There is a kind of antibiotic that is severely damaging to a fetus, isotretinoin, and my dermatologist adamantly refuses to prescribe it to me before I can prove I'm on a (semi-)permanent form of birth control aka a IUD, hormonal implant, or a hysterectomy.
It doesn't matter if I tell them I won't have PIV sex with anyone while I'm on it, or that I'll use condoms, or whatever else. They legally can't prescribe it if I am in any capacity in possession of a uterus that has even the sightest theoretical chance of successfully becoming pregnant.
Meanwhile, you could argue that testosterone itself is similar in that it can be damaging to a fetus, and yet the gender clinic was satisfied with a "I don't want a pregnancy, ever, and if it happens I'm getting rid of it. Also I'll use protection." And they've just prescribed me another medication with a warning of NEVER EVER GIVE TO WOMEN BECAUSE IT'LL FUCK UP A PREGNANCY LIKE... HARDCORE. IF A (PREGNANT) WOMAN AS MUCH AS TOUCHES IT THE FETUS IS IN MORTAL DANGER.
Now I can't help but think... How long do you think it'll take before anti-choicers and transphobes notice that legal inconsistency and move to ban people access to testosterone for the same reason as the antibiotic? And/or force intersex people with a uterus and naturally "high" testosterone levels on T blockers out of "concern" for some hypothetical fetus?
They are already coming after us for "ruining" our fertility, and after successfully restricting HRT for minors, they are just itching for an excuse to ban HRT for adults. I'm going to bet they're eventually gonna try and sneak it in under 'no one of child bearing age/ability shall be prescribed medication/have hormones that is/are harmful to fetal development unless on a (semi-)permanent form of birth control' (and then make that form of birth control impossible to get) because it neatly ends up banning testosterone if you have a (theoretically functional) uterus.
If you want another reason, beyond the fact that transgender and intersex people may need abortions or contraceptives, as to why calling the restriction of rights for people who can (theoretically) become pregnant exclusively a "women's issue", here you fucking go.

It's just wild to me how completely unhinged some people get about anything Jewish, even things that are specifically the product of Jews in the diaspora as a diasporic people.
Like, do you not understand how contributing to Jewish isolation, alienation, ostracization, and/or assimilation in the diaspora directly proves the need for a Jewish-run stronghold? Do you not see how making the diaspora a miserable place to be encourages people who would not otherwise do so to make aliyah? Like what in the self-sabotaging "anti-choicers who also hate birth control" kinda position is that?
Do you not want diaspora Jews to succeed in building communities outside of Israel? Do you not want to bolster those accomplishments as a way of demonstrating the possibility of strong Jewish community without literally living in eretz Yisrael?
Literally the only way any of that makes sense is if you just hate Jews and want us gone. If that's the case, then sure, no cognitive dissonance going on there. But for the people who earnestly believe in this as a social justice cause: what the fuck?

I recommend not posting this one bc I don't want you to get dog piled by the antis, they have a history of running some massive harassment campaigns in the past, aligning with exclusionists to do so
Pro shipping is just pro choice but for shipping and the ppl defining it are the fandom version of anti choicers. They call themselves anti pedos but they are about as much that as anti choice are pro life
Ok. So.
1. You say that with assumption I am going to agree with you
2. But I definitely we agree they shouldn't run massive harassment campaigns, although I understand where they're coming from with being an anti shippers, harassment campaigns do not work and only make things worse and just hurt people
3. It feels a little weird to compare pro and anti shipping to fucking abortion rights
4. Although I do think antis go too far some times, they are anti pedophile and saying that they're like pro lifers is bs
