the way the backstory arc sets up the origins of rin and yukio's names very early on..... and then spends the entire arc showing how "the yuki-otoko" is so much like rin-- while "rinka" has more in common with yukio than anyone could have guessed

#ao no exorcist #blue exorcist #thoughts #blue exorcist spoilers #okumura twins #meta #rin and yukio #rin okumura #yukio okumura #i have FEELINGS about this #THE PARALLELS!!!#from the beginning of the series we've seen a lot of the positive things rin has in common with shiro #*side eyes the 'black cat' incident*#but this arc actually showed a lot of their similar FLAWS too!!!#they're both young hot headed IDIOTS and it's GREAT!!!#meanwhile yukio and 'rinka' are both calculating planners who DEVOUR knowledge #and just don't quite GET other people no matter how hard they try #but what sets rin and yukio apart is that they have EACH OTHER #they have someone they admire and constantly strive to be like who they love more than anyone else #and who feels the exact same way about them #and it makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE #yes they're rivals!!! but it comes from a place of LOVE!!! and they're stronger when they work TOGETHER!!!#which shiro and satan would NEVER have done!!!#all queued up
