I keep seeing Western AUs for Top Gun (basically just @forsty and @caveiratimida with the good stuff out here) so here's something I've thought of purely because I began watching someone new on youtube who's background music sounds like ragtime music.

Goose and Carole own a bar. Penny Benjamin also works here. Goose is not a cowboy, he plays piano and has a twirly moustache, getting his nickname from how he rode into town on the back of a cart carrying geese, and his laugh of course. They may not be cowboys (or girls) but they know their customers enough to know how to handle a gun. There's been enough bar fights over what song Goose plays that Carole and Penny have had to master the art of intimidation.

They're on good terms with the local Sheriff Thomas Kazansky and his deputy Ronald Kerner (this is from this specific post by @caveiratimida ). They're on especially good terms with Ron, nicknamed Slider after he fell asleep on his horse and slid off, who can sometimes be found frequenting their saloon after hours and has come out wearing the frilly shirts that Goose wears.

Some of the others are there too, Hollywood is called that (before hollywood was a thing) because he got a holly christmas wreath stuck around his head one Christmas. Wolfman is called that because he is rumoured to have been raised by the wolves on a mountain nearby. Chipper was a lumberjack, that's about it. Sundown rode into town (there's a lot of this but it's frontier times so this is just another new mining town out west during the gold rush, also yes the 1800/1900s are my favourite period in history) on a sunset and was the perfect picture of a cowboy. Iceman used to brag about taking cattle to the more snowier regions before (if that was even a thing) so he was sarcastically called Iceman, before he became a sheriff.

But then a rogue lone ranger comes into town starting trouble, starts a few bar fights in Goose and Carole's saloon, messes with people's horses and cattle. Turns out, after Iceman books him and he's in a cell, that he's a bounty hunter.

Iceman doesn't like him, hates that he can just go out there and do his job for him. Mav doesn't like that Iceman is so restricted by the law, if you want to do good, you do good despite the law because you know it's good.

1) Are you named after anyone? Yes! Named after my mum and a late aunt/cousin (that's a story for another time. I love both my names, but Angelica has such a special place in my heart)

2) When is the last time you cried? I almost teared up thinking about my aunt just now lol, but around a month ago with the last of a string of breakdowns I had because of the project I was developing at work

3) Do you have kids? Nope

4) Do you use sarcasm a lot? All the time. People always think I'm serious because I just sound the same either way, so that's fun

5) What’s the first thing you notice about people? Physically, their eyes and hair. Other than that, how they walk

6) What’s your eye colour? Dark brown

7) Scary movie or happy ending? I like both, but I always laugh when I watch scary movies and that's not the purpose, so I rather watch a happy ending

8) Any special talents? Not really? I'm one of those people that can do lots of stuff but isn't particularly wonderful at any of them, so. Oh, I can pick up languages fairly easily, I've been told

9) Where were you born? Mexico City

10) Do you have any hobbies? Lots. Videogames, reading, music. I collect Funko Pops, old kpop cd's, memorabilia from movies/tv shows I like, and some Lego sets now that I have the money for them. I love to put together puzzles and coloring books. The occasional knitting and baking and I'm trying to get into drawing and writing after years and years of putting it off.

11) Do you have any pets? Two cats (Iki & Shin), two dogs (Turandot-& Galahad), two parrots (Pepper & Poppy), and some fish

12) What sports are/have you played? I used to play basketball in high school

13) How tall are you? Not much. 1.55 or 5'1" if I'm converting correctly

15) Dream job? Eh, I'd like to have my own business? But for me that'd mean not working in the field I am rn and I really like computer engineering, so idk. Used to want to be a vet when I was little tho

Oh man, okay, so TAG wise!!!!! I love, love, love Lady Penelope/Gordon. And also Virgil/Brains! And @preludeinz got me very strongly into brOTP Lady Penelope and John. I also really like Gordon and Kayo brOTP.

Q - A fandom you’ve abandoned and why.

SPN. For lots of reasons. Mostly frustration with the show’s inconsistent writing and the fact that they literally killed off every side character and tore down Dean and Sam’s support network constantly, and also the fact that some of the fans had shitty attitudes and I’m not about that.

T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending?

(THIS GOT REALLY LONG SO HERE’S A CUT)

YES, OH MY GOD. First, Alan Tracy is not older than 16 in canon. There is no possible way. John as aroace. I really will never get over trans!Alan or trans!Gordon. Either one, both, doesn’t matter. I like ace Virgil?

Also, Grandma Tracy being sad about her boys. Like, how they throw themselves in danger all the time, to save people, again and again, even when they’re tired. Like, they’re saving people, and they’re doing good work, and that’s amazing! But they’re also doing that constantly, and they run themselves down, and Scott’s got grey hairs and Gordon nearly dies every week, and Alan’s too young. So, that. Yeah.

Also, Jeff Tracy is not dead. Don’t know where he is but he’s not dead. I think the Hood said in the very first episode that he’s “the man they believe is responsible for the great Jeff Tracy’s demise” and that doesn’t sit right with me. He was talking to just Kayo, his niece, and I know he was trying to win her over, but something about him not taking credit just feels weird. I think the Hood doesn’t know what happened either, but he took advantage of an opportunity and ran with it.

Oh, also! Alan. I headcanon that the kid literally knows nothing outside of International Rescue. Or rather, he knows nothing about who he’d be without International Rescue. Obviously the kid loves his job, he loves space and piloting and he’s damn good at it, but he’s a kid, in an elite rescue organization, and obviously homeschooled. Does he even have friends his own age? Does he like. Know anyone outside of International Rescue. Not the people they rescue, but people he’s just gone out and connected with? I know they’re famous and all that but still. And I don’t think he even realizes it! His social circle is pretty small, limited to brief interactions with people in danger and whatever happens on the island, and I think that can’t actually be that great for him. Like, there’s gotta be some stuff that he’s just missing. I also think that Scott is very aware of it, and so is Grandma. The others probably aren’t unaware, but Scott would take it very very personally, and it probably kills him inside.

Anyway. That was a lot.

V - Which character do you relate to most?

Oh, God, you know what? I have no goddamn idea. Gordon, I think. Or I’d like to think, anyway. Oh, my God, you know what? I don’t know if you’ve ever read the All For The Game series by Nora Sakavic, but I relate so fucking hard to Neil, to an honestly ridiculous level. Neil Josten is the character I relate to the most, holy fuck.
