thinking about neil telling andrew, "i want to see you lose control," and putting that into context.

he says it on the roof right after their cars have been destroyed by ravens fans and after andrew attacked allison in the parking lot, after andrew has been taken off his meds, after andrew admitted that he'd blow neil at eden's, and before andrew kisses him for the first time.

and up to this point, control is what andrew has. he controls himself, keeping his emotions locked down away from the surface. he controls the people around him, his brother and his cousin and the foxes. he controls his sexuality, literally locking his partner up to make sure that things happen the way andrew wants them to. control is also what others think andrew needs, but notably not the kind of control he exerts for himself.

neil challenges all of that. he challenges the idea that andrew is out of control by recognizing his problem is that he's trying to maintain too much control. neil challenges andrew keeping those parts of himself locked away because he is eager when he sees through to glimpses of the real andrew beneath, even when it's the real andrew's rage. he challenges andrew's control over other people through his promises and bargains - neil doesn't just go along with their agreement, he pushes and expects more from andrew. neil shows that the control goes both ways, that the bargains are a leash on andrew in the same way that he uses them on others, and keeping the relationships andrew's trying to have with the people around him requires that he give up some of that control to them.

and i think this is a really interesting dynamic going into their first kiss and their relationship.

because neil shows andrew that the outcome of losing some of that tight control can be positive - someone seeing him clearly and not turning away, someone helping him and the people around him, someone willing to put himself on the line for andrew and give back everything andrew has been giving. control isn't one way, it's a give and take.

andrew's insistence on neil's "yes or no" is willingly giving some of that control to neil. their relationship is andrew giving his carefully maintained control away bit by bit.

neil says, "i want to see you lose control," and andrew puts neil's hand on his chest to see what neil will do with that control when he does.

i've seen a lot of dp fans in the dpxdc fandom talk about not having access to comics so here. it's completely free, good quality scans (for most things), basically any dc comic you could want is there. you should have an adblocker but the ads aren't the worst if you don't, just noticeable and annoying. you're not gonna get a virus, i've been using the site for years, as have many other fans.

if you genuinely want to read the comics, take advantage of the sites comic fans have been using. there's new and old stuff and everything in between. crossovers too. whatever you want to read, you'll find there.

Do you ship any of the turtles with anyone? or do you ship anything in rise at all?

Hmmm, I’m not too big a shipper tbh! Especially since I really enjoy canon interactions backing my ships, so it’s hard for me to actively like any that don’t really have that going for them. There’s plenty that I see around that I think are cute, but that’s usually the extent of my thought process for them.

For ships I more actively have, I guess I like AprilxSunita! They’re very very cute and I think they have some huge meet cute energy in their first episode together, and their chemistry is genuinely adorable (plus them being featured means more April screentime which is ALWAYS a good thing.)

I also think AprilxCasey (and when I say Casey I mean our OG girl) is really good, as I’m a sucker for enemies to lovers, and I think they have a lot in common and just bounce off each other very well (not to mention this ship in other iterations of TMNT has a loooooot going for it.)

Keeping the chain going, I think RaphxCasey (again, OG Casey) is also one with a tonnnnn of potential. They have a lot of common characteristics, and considering Raph’s whole thing with Franken-Foot, I really think there’s a lot of room there for a relationship to develop. Plus, like AprilxCasey, Raph and Casey tend to have a close relationship throughout the iterations of TMNT and it would be great to see that more with these two, even if not romantically.

Actually going back to enemies to lovers, I unironically think there’s a ton going for DonniexKendra. I know a lot of people hate this ship, but I don’t and I actually think it could very easily work whether in a love-hate way or a slow burn way. There’s a lot to like here and honestly they’re good together! Kendra is legit Donnie’s type too haha (cute, but mean.)

Lastly, SplinterxDraxum is good…when done right. I really like when people take it and don’t undermine the very real trauma that Splinter has gone through. As I’ve stated a lot, I love me some enemies to lovers, so I can see the potential here. Plus lbr Draxum was down BAD for Lou Jitsu when he first saw him haha.

I think that’s the extent to what I actively like? Everything else usually falls into “aw cute” or “ehhh not for me thanks”. And before you ask YES leosagi is cute and I’ll read fics with it if the premise is appealing, but I’m afraid I need some canon interactions to establish base character dynamics before I actively ship it alas.😔 Super cute though, no hate to it or any of the other CanonxCharacter-they’ve-never-met ships, I genuinely think people should just have fun! And for what it’s worth I really do wish we got a Usagi and Leo interaction in Rise like we have in other iterations.:(

So yeah. Overall, I have a few ships I enjoy, but I fall much more in the “prefer to keep everyone to themselves and make the focus family and friendship” category.

but to answer ur question, kinda! he only have those that's beneficial to his daily activity, like his digestive and respiratory system. for example he doesn't have a heart to pump blood because he has no blood to begin with.

the way it works is that akito only digest meat (carnivore moment) and the nutrients from said meat (extracted thanks to the help of his special digestive system) helps his internal organs work just like normal, even better if the meat is fresh + has blood on them. more nutrients means an even stronger body

and for the brains and other parts of the organs, it's really just.. pure meat slob no bones whatsoever (this might make people believe he's weak in general because of no skeletal structure underneath him but his muscle power are way beyond comprehension to balance it out) (he's still an anomaly afterall, he can't be easy to kill)

This started out as just "hey I like both of these characters what if they interacted," but after seeing Melody crying about Kacho in chapter 400 I really wanted to draw her with someone who Gets It

Oito & Melody both have a tendency to freak out a bit in stressful situations, so I wondered if they might amplify that in each other haha. But on the other hand I could see them empathizing with each other and maybe being able to comfort each other? (or maybe I'm just a bit delusional lol)
