"Will you stop and listen?" said Buck, halting the door from hitting him on the face as Eddie almost slammed it behind him. "You're acting like a child!"

Eddie turned around and put his hand up. "No one invited you in. Go, don't you have a date?"

Buck frowned, shifting his weight from one leg to the other. "Why- why are you getting so upset? Is it that you don't like her for me?"

"No, I don't like her!"

The enphasized word took them both aback, filling the room with silence before Buck spoke again. "I don't understand you... after the accident you said I looked lonely, you- you practically tossed me back into the world-"

"I know what I said, Evan."

"Then why are you backing down? Why are you acting like you weren't the one who told me to get my head clear and restart my life?"

Eddie grunted in exasperation, stomping his foot on the ground and smacking his legs with his palms. He was giving up. "I hate you so much" he whispered, grabbing Buck's face and pulling him down for a kiss.

I just woke up and now I am standing outside in the rain crying!!

Steve never got the chance to know him properly, sure, he knew his favourite song but that was something they all had to share before the final fight with vecna. It wasn't enough, Steve craved to know him inside and out but all he had was his own foggy memory of things they spoke about before he died. He wished he'd done more over the week they were together, maybe asked him what his favourite flower was so he knew what to bring to his grave.

A month passes and Steve can't stop thinking about the fact he has spent more time with Eddie at his grave then when he was actually alive. He goes to hellfire with the kids every week to try and feel closer to Eddie, to try and understand why he loved that stupid game so much. He talks to Gareth when they pass each other on the street, he doesn't bring up Eddie, he can tell Gareth isn't handling it well. Hell, Steve isn't handling it well. Does visiting his grave every day and asking Eddie questions that he'll never get the answer to count as handling it well?

Wayne comes to visit Eddie one afternoon while Steve is there. They've bumped into each other quite a few times at his grave, Wayne always smiles at him as Steve leaves to give them privacy. But today, Wayne stops next to where Steve is sitting and hands him a single sunflower, it has a black ribbon tied around it's stem. "They're his favourite. Thanks for keeping him company every day." Steve holds the sunflower close to his chest and sobs.

“what do you do when you’re upset, todoroki?”

the wave of an incoming breeze made your clothes move along with it. sitting on the grassy ground behind the ua dorms, you sat there next to todoroki. you didn’t know why he was there with you, one moment you were alone the next he was sitting with his legs crossed in front of him with the heels of his hands supporting his weight behind him.

“do you want me to tell you exactly what i do, or do you want me to tell you ‘i don’t know’?”

you smiled half heartedly and pulled your knees close to your chest. resting the side of your cheek on your knees so you would be facing him.

“tell me what you do.”

“well, sometimes i try to sleep, or i try to meditate.”

“you know damn well i can’t sit still for very long.”

he hummed in response and stayed quiet. the sigh you let go escaped your lungs when another soft breeze came rolling in. with your head now turned away from him, instead looking ahead of you, you sighed again.

“want to know what i do?”

“what do you do.”

for the third time you took a deep breath and exhaled while letting yourself fall back into the grass. looking up at the sky, you blinked.

“sometimes i let myself be miserable, feels like i deserve it.”

todoroki looked down at you, and laid down too.

“why would you ever think that?”

shrugging, you kept staring at the moving clouds above you.

“i don’t know what else to do.”

it stayed quiet between the two of you. the sounds of everyone else in the building surrounded the air, although it was faint. plant life rustling because of the wind, that’s all the sound there was.

“i think i know what else i like to do when i’m upset.”

todoroki’s voice broke the glass thin silence. you looked at him, grass scratching your ear now.

voice just above a whisper you asked,“what else did you think of?”

“i think i like being here with you.”
