Oh holy fuck
So I’ve just watched the special episode of LITA and all I can say is…WOW, WE WON.
Not matter which of the two is your ship
We all won.
gifsets pending…
Also, Pai is SO Kinn’s son. This reaffirmed that tenfold. HILARIOUS.

Please lie here with me. Spend the day in bed.
We’ll return to our lives tomorrow, deal with it all then.
I just need a day. Just one day. Just a break.
And for you to hold me the whole time, and be here when I wake.

So you’re basically telling me I should stalk your blog and check if your dms are open? 😝
And for how long are they usually open?
You would only stalk it if you haven't been doing that already.

God just thinking about the contrast of my dad sitting in his couch chair while my sibling sits on the floor painting their nails as he talks down to them about how they degrade our trust over and over and how trust is something to be earned through being responsible etc
Compared to the conversation I just had with them about essentially the same thing but we were standing side by side cleaning nail polish supplies together that they’d left out that had gotten sticky and gross.
My sibling had just kinda started at him in response as they do when they know nothing they say will be correct but the two of us had an actual conversation as we - together - dealt with the consequences of their irresponsibility.
One day I’m going to move out and part of me is terrified of leaving because I feel like I’d be leaving them to the wolves - but the other part is begging for escape because it is exhausting the amount of emotional labor I have to provide for literally everyone for situations that don’t involve me in the slightest.
Gahh
Why can’t I just be selfish and not give a damn about any of this. Why did Covid force me back into this house. Fuck it all

When I was a kid one of my moms would call her period "moon time" or "her monthlies" or shit like that and my other mom straight up stealthed it, but when I'm a dad I think I'm gonna go straight down the middle and call it Werewolf Week. Like sorry kids, dad can't roughouse right now, it's Werewolf Week

Duolingo Sucks, Now What?: A Guide
Now that the quality of Duolingo has fallen (even more) due to AI and people are more willing to make the jump here are just some alternative apps and what languages they have:
"I just want an identical experience to DL"
Busuu (Languages: Spanish, Japanese, French, English, German, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Polish, Turkish, Russian, Arabic, Korean)
"I want a good audio-based app"
Language Transfer (Languages: French, Swahili, Italian, Greek, German, Turkish, Arabic, Spanish, English for Spanish Speakers)
"I want a good audio-based app and money's no object"
Pimsleur (Literally so many languages)
Glossika (Also a lot of languages, but minority languages are free)
*anecdote: I borrowed my brother's Japanese Pimsleur CD as a kid and I still remember how to say the weather is nice over a decade later. You can find the CDs at libraries and "other" places I'm sure.
"I have a pretty neat library card"
Mango (Languages: So many and the endangered/Indigenous courses are free even if you don't have a library that has a partnership with Mango)
Transparent Language: (Languages: THE MOST! Also the one that has the widest variety of African languages! Perhaps the most diverse in ESL and learning a foreign language not in English)
"I want SRS flashcards and have an android"
AnkiDroid: (Theoretically all languages, pre-made decks can be found easily)
"I want SRS flashcards and I have an iphone"
AnkiApp: It's almost as good as AnkiDroid and free compared to the official Anki app for iphone
"I don't mind ads and just want to learn Korean"
lingory
"I want an app made for Mandarin that's BETTER than DL and has multiple languages to learn Mandarin in"
ChineseSkill (You can use their older version of the course for free)
"I don't like any of these apps you mentioned already, give me one more"
Bunpo: (Languages: Japanese, Spanish, French, German, Korean, and Mandarin)
