Something I’ve been thinking about: The Placebo Effect is a proven phenomenon of the body. When I was young, I used to think a lot of stuff was “healthy” that I later found out is actually junk. Energy drinks that make health claims because they’re “packed with vitamins” or granola bars that are packed with added sugar, I just didn’t know a lot about nutrition so I thought these foods were good for me. Now, as an adult, I know these things are linked to all sorts of negative health effects, and when I consume them it feels negative on my body. “Bad” foods will sit poorly in my stomach or just make me feel bad overall. As a kid when I thought all these things were “good” they never affected me poorly. What if the reason adults have so many aches and pains and poor health is because… we have all been told how many things are “bad” for us. I mean, all of us have heard since we were young “Enjoy eating freely now because you won’t be able to eat like that forever” or something to that affect. What if children don’t experience as many of the negative outcomes from food because they’re not constantly bombarded with information about the negative impacts of food? I’m not saying we should all be able to eat candy and French fries all day so long as we believe it’s healthy. But I’m just thinking, maybe all this obsession and catastrophizing about food and health could actually be linked to the general decline in health as people age.

So they’re basically toddlers? 🤣

Anyone else absolutely obsessed with finding recipes and saving them, organising them and just generally having them. Not really to make cause then you'd have to eat them, but just having the recipes? Or am I weird 👀

"A contract," the creature croaked, freezing Tim in place.

"What?" He asked, stunned. He knew he should run, he knew he shouldn't trust whatever magic nonsense this was turning into but...whoever or whatever this was sounded desperate.

Green glowing liquid had came together to make the vague shape of a person on the ground, "A contract," the creature repeated, "Care for me and give me energy, and in return I will serve and protect you."

Red Robin hesitated, "How do I know you're not going to stab me in the back the first chance you get."

"I need to feed." The thing gasped, "I need a host. I can negotiate"

Tim can negotiate too, and if there's one thing his 17 year old co-ceo self knew by now, it was contracts.

After the contract was completed, the being passed out and a bright white flash left a relatively normal looking boy in its place

Somehow the entity, now known as Danny, had been stolen away by Alfred and is undergoing butler training cause now Tim has his own personal butler...who is only a year younger than him and some kind of Pit Demon

Thinking about sqx living his mortal life, noticing odd things. Little things at first: he’ll be searching for some belonging of his, and then it will suddenly appear within grasp—somewhere he’s sure he’s already checked.

Sometimes he’ll cook food, and swear he left a bowl’s worth in the pot. But when he returns to pour it for himself, the pot is mysteriously empty. Often when this happens, something good will happen the next day. He’ll find a gold piece on the ground somewhere, or something he’s been looking for will show up at a nearby market stall for cheap. Or perhaps he’ll come across some lovely little trinket that seems to belong to no one, and he finds himself pocketing it, too enamoured with it to pawn.

One evening, his crutch breaks. It’s late, so there’s not much he can do about it until the morning. He sighs and sets it aside, before going to bed. When he wakes up, the crutch beside him is completely repaired—as if it never broke at all.

He asks the others about this, and they laugh it off. It’s not the first time he’s rambled about strange occurrences.

“Maybe you’re haunted!” One of them jokes off-handedly.

“Yeah! By a hungry ghost, perhaps,” someone else adds.

Shi Qingxuan freezes, his mind starts turning, and his heart begins to pound. “…Haunted?”

From then on, whenever he cooks for himself, he places a second bowl across from him. It doesn’t always work at first, but eventually, the bowl will empty itself every time without fail.

Perhaps some day, his hungry ghost will reveal itself.
