“May we please have a small Doo diddly for Maul when he had the spider legs? Like I can imagine in the midst of his madness he remembers the reader and is super clingy because he'll probably think they are an illusion”
Tumblr media
pain. the zabrak felt nothing but pain as his eyes scanned the heaps of metal and trash. horrible, awful, painful memories filled the junkyward around him. lotho minor was a pit. a pitiful planet full of nothing but junk and despair. illusions danced across the zabrak's eyes, scenes from his past unfolding before him.
a young woman stood before the zabrak, her eyes glittering with . she was adorned in gorgeous, silky, blue robes, her hair twisted in an intricate bun. her aura held nothing but royalty and beauty, almost making the zabrak crumple to his knees. his breath hitched in her throat as she spoke, her voice a sweet melody swirling in his ears. she introduced herself, her smile absolutely radiant. maul learned that her name was (y/n) (y/l/n), the daughter of the lord himself, count dooku. she was young, about twenty-two years old. nonetheless, she was stunning.
another memory flashed. (y/n), sound asleep, her chest rising and falling as she slept, her hair almost a halo on the pillow. warmth seeped into the zabrak's chest as her lashes fluttered, her lips slightly parted. her nightgown left nothing to the imagination, maul desperately wishing he could feel the smooth skin once again. to feel her. to kiss her.
your eyes widened as you stepped onto lotho minor's ground, the air a hazy beige, the ocean of junk, ships, and trash a sea around you. savage oppress, the brother of your lover, swallowed thickly, the amulet around his neck glowing a blue hue.
"this is..." savage began, searching for the words, "this is insane."
"i know," you mumbled, "but we have to find him. we have to."
"i am well aware," savage nodded, his saber strapped to his hip, "come, let's go."
after hours of searching, the two of you found a tunnel in the ground, a sign of life. the two of you exchanged an all knowing glance. maul was down there. he had to be.
"ladies first," savage rumbled, attempting to lighten the mood.
who knew what state darth maul would be in when you found him. it had been almost months since you had seen him last. when he never returned from your mission, you were hopeless, fearing the worst. however, one fateful day, the brother of maul reached out to you, sending you a transmission. he asked that you join in his journey to lotho minor, the rumored planet where maul was cast away.
your heart raced in your chest as you blindly entered the tunnel, the stench foul. in the darkness, your eyes adjusted, the glow of a fire casting a dim light. savage followed, his hand wrapped tightly around the hilt of his saber.
"be careful miss," savage remarked, "your father would have me executed if you emerged with even a slight scratch."
"i'm sure i can argue that," you scoffed, rolling your eyes.
the sound of metal scraping the wall of the tunnel made you flinch, a large metal spider entering your field of vision. fear left your veins cold, the aura in the tunnel shifting from hope to horror.
"brother?" savage called, igniting his saber, "is that you?"
seconds later, the spider attacked savage, your cry echoing off the metal. savage was much smaller than the creature, but he was stronger. much, much, stronger. after a few moments of struggle, savage threw the spider off of him. this was no regular spider. his features came to light, his crimson and black tattoos recognizable in an instant. your breath hitched in your throat, "maul?"
"stay back!" savage ordered.
"go away," maul snarled, "i am a dangerous creature! a pained, dangerous, creature!"
maul was emaciated, his ribs poking from his skin. his horns, once kept short and filed, were overgrown, jutting from his skull. one was missing completely. his eyes were panicked, gleaming amber.
"maul," savage began, placing out his hands as a gesture to show that the two of you were not harmful, "i am your brother, savage."
"and i am your lover, (y/n)," you murmured, tears brimming your eyes.
"no," maul shook his head, "no, no, no, you're an illusion. a mere mirage."
"maul," you whispered, "please."
"the pain has come and gone," maul rambled, placing his hands on his skull, "but the pain in here, has never left."
without hesitation, you approached maul, wrapping your arms around his embrace. your tears splattered his skin, your scent flooding his nostrils. maul collapsed into your arms, remembrance surging through his thoughts. it was you. it wasn't an illusion. you were here. to save him.
"i love you," your voice was laced with sincerity, "i love you so much, maul."
"my darling," he whimpered, holding back a sob, "you're here."
"i'm never letting you go," you buried your head into the crook of his neck.
"i don't ever want to leave you ever again," he cried, the tears spilling down his cheeks.
savage cleared his throat, "the two of you can reminisce at a later time. come, let's get maul in a safer place."
"come," you placed a tender kiss to his temple, "let's get you home."
maul exhaled, whimpering, "okay."
"i won't let you get hurt," you promised, offering him your hand.
maul took it, intertwining your fingers together, "as long as you promise to stay by my side until i am well again."
"maul," you shook your head, "i am going to stay by your side until my last breath."
and that, was enough for the sith lord. he blinked, heart swelling. you were here. and you had saved him.
he would be eternally grateful. loving you endlessly and abundantly.
for the rest of your lives.
