tbh when I said Undertale/Percy Jackson crossover I was thinking more along the lines of what would happen if Percy fell into the Underground.

I imagine he’d probably be pretty confused at first because all the “monsters” he’s ever known have been evil, but these monsters are good and have in fact been wronged by humanity.

Flowey would probably freak him out and make him suspicious.

when Toriel takes him in, she bakes him a pie and then he asks her if she can make it blue. Toriel is confused, but complies.

he gets along great with Papyrus because autism/ADHD solidarity and they’re both great fighters.

he’s a little weirded out by Sans but also this funny little skeleton man is humorous (pun intended) so he hangs out with him.

I’m not sure but what he might end up killing Undyne his first time around because I don’t think fleeing is really something Percy would consider initially. once they friends though I bet Undyne would think his water powers are super cool.

Percy suspects something is up with Alphys and Mettaton, but he goes along with it until Mettaton reveals his true plans. I feel like Percy wouldn’t really like Mettaton very much because of his arrogance. and I’m not sure about Alphys, her nerdiness could remind him of a younger Nico DiAngelo.

I feel like he’d have some sympathy for Asgore because he knows the gods have done some fucked up shit and yet he fights for them, but also he’d be like “you killed six kids?? bruh”

I have no doubt that after doing all the hangouts and befriending the main characters, his fatal flaw would kick in and the final battle against the God of Hyperdeath would be much the same as it is with Frisk. he’d want to save everyone, even if it costs his own life.

I’m not sure if he’d forgive Asriel or not. on the one hand, Percy doesn’t know him very well and he did a lot of damage to a lot of people. on the other hand, he’s just a kid. at the very least he’d probably be a little sympathetic toward him.

but yeah those are my ideas. keep in mind I’m more a casual fan of PJO and only reread the books occasionally so I could be totally off about some of this stuff, but I tried.

44. Do you forgive Asgore for what he’s done?

i’m gonna be completely honest here whenever i see someone yell at another person for liking Asgore i just kinda

in all seriousness tho: i don’t think every character needs to be 100% morally correct in order for it to be “”””””okay��””””” for someone to like them. Asgore made a shit decision and some even more shit actions, but in his position, he didn’t have all that much of a choice tbh?? his kingdom was falling apart, his children straight up died and then his wife left him immediately after instead of trying to talk things out with him. he did the best he could think of to keep his subjects hopeful, and that meant finding a way out without risking the same thing that happened to Asriel & Chara happening to him, too.

Ugh I really rambled there but here’s some more: if i’m remembering correctly, it’s literally never been confirmed that all 6 of the humans before Frisk were kids. It’s also kinda implied that at least one of them was violent towards monsters (the *dusty tutu* paired with the ballet shoes that “make you feel incredibly dangerous”). So i’d say it’s not a stretch to assume that they weren’t completely innocent, y’know?

I personally think of Asgore as a pretty unlucky, but pretty damn well-written character in general. he’s not on my top 3 list of favorite characters, but I still like him a lot!

I did not mean to imply that Kokichi is a twisted sociopath. I REALLY don't want to perceive him that way, but a lot of people see him like that. And it kinda feels... unnatural for me. To go to your blog, to see portrayals of him as a leader, as a boy who is rude, callous and a trickster, but who still cares about his classmates with all his heart, who did horrible things out of desire to help others, to see him as a human instead of the evil incarnate. "There must be some kind of a mistake" I

think, "You must have been mistaken about something. How the hell can you interpret him as a flawed, twisted(in later chapters) but still likeable human being? It's clearly wrong because he is a villain" I don't allow myself to even slightly ponder the fact that Kokichi has feelings, that he is not a sociopath that enjoys human suffering, because for some reason it is WRONG. And I don't want to see him as "Nagito + Junko + Hiyoko but worse", but somehow in my head every interpretation of him

other that "sociopathic nazi gremlin" is WRONG and blasphemous. Somewhat like with Chara several years ago when I was into UT. I liked the Narrator/Player Chara theories because they showed Chara as a very flawed individual who did a lot of things wrong but also had many redeeming qualities despite that, because it gave them some depth instead of reducing them to the one-dimensional "for the evulz" villain and also provided an interesting deconstruction of game mechanics(narration, interaction

game mechanics. But the voice in my head kept telling me that this game mechanics. But the voice in my head kept telling me that this interpretation is wrong, completely not canon in the slightest bit, Chara is pure evil, you are just stupid for daring to assume sth else about them. Because of it, I eventually started to hate Undertale and everything pertaining to it. This is a very simular thing to my Undertale experience. Surfing this blog and finding UT and DRV3 content made me realise that.

All right gonna assume the rant is done here since that last ask looks like the end but tbh it doesn’t really matter because this is basically pushing my boundaries here and I’m getting really tired of this nonsense in my ask box.

Because gonna be blunt Anon, this sounds like a “you” problem.

First of all--this blog, impytricky, has over 900 followers. Meaning that ~900 people follow this blog and agree with the notion that Kokichi is not a terrible person. My blog over at @unweavinglies has over three hundred with a significant drop in total posts on that blog, and my theories there often get hundreds and hundreds of notes. People who don’t even follow this blog or that one will reblog my analysis posts in agreement.

So a lot of people see Kokichi as less “evil” and more morally grey. Actually, I’ve seen more positive interpretations of Kokichi than I’ve seen people making him into a true villain. That’s because making him a pure evil little bastard is kind of really boring and misses the entire point of his character and character arc.

You probably don’t see a lot of the “good” interpretations of Kokichi because you don’t go looking for it/ignore it/dismiss it when you come across it. Probably. Like how I see less of the villain interpretation because I don’t go looking for it/dismiss it/whatever.

Second of all: Kokichi is technically not a villain. While I still go by the policy that all interpretations are valid, it’s not canon that he is a “villain.” Narratively speaking, Kokichi is an anti-hero. An anti-hero is “a central character in a story, movie, or drama who lacks conventional heroic attributes,“ and yes, can be antagonists. Antagonists does not equal Villain, however. Anti-heroes are often marked by the idea of a hero doing bad things for the greater good.

Third of all: Please for the love of god cut that shit out with the Nazi thing. Kokichi is not a Nazi. I hated this stupid misconception before and I still hate it now--it’s offensive, outside of fiction, and it’s just plain inaccurate either way. This misconception comes from the fact that Japan especially tends to romanticize military attire, including attire in WWII Germany, which shows up in Kokichi’s hat in one promo picture. Another reason this misconception is the bane of my existence is because some fantranslator translated Kokichi’s ultimate talent to be “Ultimate Dictator” when it was apparently able to be translated as “Ultimate President” or “Ultimate Leader”. The Nazi misconception is just that--a huge misconception created by poor taste in design and fantranslations being inaccurate.

Please for the love of god, take that thought and unlearn it now. Seriously, it’s offensive. Stop it.

Fourth of all: This is where I see that this is more of a you problem above everything else. From what you’ve said, you seem to deem “morally grey” characters as “evil” or “Villainous” which comes with black or white thinking. From my perspective, what I’m hearing is “I can’t see shades of grey, so this must be black because it is not white.”

Let me ask you: Gonta Gokuhara. Whether or not Kokichi showed him the flashbacklight due to “””Evil””” intentions or whatever, he chose to kill Miu. Kokichi did not “trick” him into it, nor was he able to force Gonta into it via blackmail or what have you. Gonta chose to kill Miu of his own accord. This is a straight up canon fact. He chose to kill Miu because he believed that Mercy Killing her and everyone else before they found out the secret of the outside world would be kinder. This is canon fact that really cannot be disputed.

Let me ask you--is Gonta evil all of a sudden because he chose to kill someone? That he was aiming to kill everyone?

What about Frisk--or the player, in undertale--who has to actively choose to genocide run the game? Are players who choose ths path evil all of a sudden? What about Frisk, who would also be making this decision? Deltarune has implied that “Chara”, or the demon or whatever, is a separate entity that can control the character we play and we can’t control them when they’re in control. Meaning that for the whole Genocide route, Frisk had to actively choose to kill every single monster underground. If you go by the theory that the player isn’t just controlling their movements at any rate, you can see Chara take control in when thy kill Sans and Flowey. Yes, this means that Chara was not in control before then, thus putting the blame for most of the Genocide run on the player, or Frisk.

Yet the choice to do a pacifist run is there too. So which is it? What’s evil, and what isn’t evil? Can you really call Frisk pure good or evil? What about the player? What about Gonta?

That is the complexity of grey morality--the answer isn’t black or white and can’t be so simplified. Because what’s kinder, in Gonta’s case--killing everyone, or letting them find out that basically all of humanity was wiped out off of the face of the earth and the killing game they were forced into was all for nothing? Sure it’s terrible to kill someone, but it’s also terrible to allow people to be mentally tortured too, which the outside world basically did to everyone when they did find out.

It sounds like you’re stuck in the mind set of things being black or white. If you want to see characters like Kokichi and Chara as morally grey, then you need to tell that voice that says otherwise to shush up. No one is perfectly evil, no one is perfectly good. Good people can do horrible, terrible things and still be good people. Bad people can also do very, very good things, and still be terrible people.

I won’t be answering asks like this again. Please refrain from shoving your opinions down my throat. Maybe you didn’t intend to, but you are with lines like "There must be some kind of a mistake" and "You must have been mistaken about something. How the hell can you interpret him as a flawed, twisted(in later chapters) but still likeable human being? It's clearly wrong because he is a villain" because yeah that’s basically ways of saying “You’re wrong about Kokichi and I don’t like your interpretation.”

I always wanted to ask someone who was a fan of both Homestuck and Undertale: how would each of the kids play Undertale? Who plays every path including the Geno run and who does only pacifist and then never plays again? (Also who kills Toriel on accident and then resets to save her because they feel bad?) I kinda want to ask about favorite characters of the characters, but that might be a little too esoteric.

HMMM. [potential game spoilers ahead]

dirk plays pacifist and neutral, gets partway through geno and becomes too upset to continue. stresses himself out thinking he should finish it, but can’t because it makes him feel too bad about himself. he would accidentally kill toriel but not reset because he would be committed to following his choices through, i think. favorite character… i think he would lowkey really like alphys.

jake would do neutral to pacifist, definitely not geno. i could maybe see him resetting to save toriel if he thought of it. he would do a neutral route the first time and get some LV i think. not in the ruins because the toriel telling you not to guilt is real but later on, when things get more frustrating and you keep dying. his favorite character is undyne. OBVS undyne. but he would like all of them, especially papyrus and alphys i think. flowey might be a bit close to home for both him and dirk, remind them a bit of the AR.

roxy plays all the routes and does excellently. defeats geno sans with unfair ease. probably does one of those really irritating no-hit runs where she gets thru geno without ever taking damage. people are slightly horrified by her laughing at parts of geno but she doesn’t give a shit. her favorites are the temmies. :3 but i think she would like undyne a lot too tbh.

janey… jane would play neutral, then pacifist, and then be done, i think. unless she was pissed when she was playing, but i don’t think she has the patience for geno. i could see her doing a high LV neutral route out of frustration and then feeling a bit guilty about it after. her favorite would be toriel and she’s definitely rooting for toriel and asgore not to get back together.

dave plays the pacifist run where you dont have to reset fully after photoshop flowey on account of never having killed anyone, because he heard that you can do a route like that and chose to not be attacking if he didn’t have to. would figure out the dodging + saying fun things bit pretty quick and have too much fun with it. his favorites are all the most hilarious random encounter monsters, sans, and nabstablook. and he races the snails too many times.

rose plays neutral, then geno, then pacifist, just to be contrary. betrays herself by thinking muffet’s fangs are hot. actually disliked geno a lot but played it so she can talk loftily about its implications and dirk can’t do shit if he wants to debate with her because he flunked out of it. maybe her favorite is chara for the moral ambiguity and being influenced by the player’s decisions. (i generally subscribe to chara as the narrator theory.) also flowey. she would like flowey.

karkat plays with the temmie armor. lmao. he complains the whole way about encounters being too hard but stays pacifist. he virulently complains about all the characters, calls toriel the only sensible one, and secretly likes mettaton.

i dont know if i have enough solid opinions on the other characters… jade would love that you can throw the stick for the dogs. she and jake both pet lesser dog until the depths of the universe are plundered. terezi might like asriel, but her favorite part would the the color tile puzzle. if john tried geno he’d fail out when you have to kill the dogs. callie probably just watches others play with mild bemusement, and her favorite is alphys.

What to do in the mean time. + Catharsis (More of a motive explaination)

OK. while we’re waiting for an AFAC update, let’s take this time to really think about how to make this plan work.

I know I’m being indecisive again. I am TRULY sorry because I feel like i’m jerking you guys around. Truth is I am. And I am not going to lie, I am nervous. Aaaand I bet you guys are too.

This isn’t me being scared of failing. This isn’t me losing confidence (Again).

This is me wanting to succeed with this plan and get Asriel’s soul back. I spent 6 months waiting for an opportunity, even longer looking for the soul. FINALLY, I have my chance to strike. I wanted to get that soul back since I played the game. Asriel’s self-sacrifice hit me hard, I didn’t cry but I wanted to. He deserved to have a good ending. He could’ve kept 1 soul and lived happily on the surface with Frisk and the friends they made. But he put all others above himself. The true purpose of this plan isn’t so I can prank Chara, and it isn’t so I can save their world. I give 0 fucks about that. (Ok, maybe 1 or 2 fucks, tbh, I just wanted to sound cool but those were “Additional purposes.” I can’t think of a word for it.)

This plan was so I could do the one thing every True Pacifist player wanted to do since reaching that ending: Give Asriel a soul. That is my resolve.

*Remembering your resolve to fulfill your wish fills you with Determination.

*Remembering that while it’s possible the plan may not work, the fact that people will remember that you FOUND the soul in the first place and tried your best to get it back and that the only people you should listen to (If this doesn’t work) are the people who won’t hold that failure against you helps clear up all doubt in your heart and fills you with Bravery.

OK, now I’m done being emotional over a video game and webcomic. time to go into logic mode. (Cannot promise not to cry if this DOES work though)

To start, I want to review AFAC!Chara’s personality and what makes them tic.

What they feel, how they feel about others and how they feel about themself and use that to trick them into hugging Asriel. ANYTHING can be used. Remember, they are still drunk!

They made it clear that they have a sense of right and wrong.

They are disgusted with their own actions in the genocide arc and feel that they should be ashamed of what they’ve done.

They also feel that the world is broken with all the bad in the world.

They can’t see past all the bad in people, only exception being Frisk and Asriel.

They hate white chocolate.

They may talk shit about Asriel but they still love him.

They like sweet things more than they’re willing to admit.

They have a habit of knitting.

They respect Frisk as an equal and considers them to be a good person.

They call themself a demon.

They see Asriel and Flowey as a different person. Asriel as the dead friend, and Flowey as the corpse-puppet.

Here’s a new way to decide what we’re gonna do and hope it’s a jackpot for in TQ’s eyes, in fact, I think this is how i was wiring myself up.

If I try coming up with something, I am going to act like the weight of the world is on my shoulders.....again.

That said, doing this on my own, I think I did a pretty awesome job making it this far. I found the soul. I figured out how Maverick got his soul back. I even saw an opportunity. I did pretty damn well. The AFAC!Crew, Rei, and Mod-shade from ghost dad certainly believe that. I just gotta believe it.

However, I can’t do it all on my own. I’ve gotten this far using my own abilities. Now, I am turning to YOU guys. using this list, send me asks on what to tell Chara to trick them into hugging Flowey. If it sounds like it makes sense and it could work, I’ll answer and count LIKES ONLY. Top 4 answered suggestions with the highest amount of likes will be in a strawpoll, highest amount of votes is what we’ll go with.

tbh i,, don’t really know what this question means? i obviously love the entire Undertale soundtrack, bc who doesn’t, if it means favorite song tho then it’s a tie between Bonetrousle & Megalovania, because Megalovania still fuckin slaps

in my first playthrough I’m pretty sure I reset before I got to Mettaton because I ended up doing a neutral run first, but in my second playthrough i’m like 99% sure I said “leg so hot. hot hot leg. leg so hot u fry an egg.” he liked it

11. Your reaction when you saw Omega Flowey for the first time:

I’m pretty sure I audibly screamed, lmao. You never expect something like that with Undertale’s art style, especially not back when it was still new & only a few months old rip

13. Which UT character reminds you of yourself?

Papyrus, definitely. I like him so much because I can really relate to him, in the sense of (it might get a bit sad here sorry) being the “forgotten” sibling & not having many friends who actually know you as a person :/ I also try to be as optimistic as i can too, tho!!

ok i have a confession,,, I tried to kill Papyrus in my first playthrough :( i SUCKED during his fight and he threw me in the shed twice so i got frustrated. luckily, he beat me the 3rd time and just let me go, so i didn’t actually kill him

later on in that run I started treating UT like a normal RPG, by which I mean I started killing monsters for no reason other than i needed money & more HP. i stopped & reset abt halfway through hotland tho, and I haven’t done anything but true pacifist since!!
