Twitter sucks ass can Armin and Shag fuck off and disappear at this point instead of starting shit outta petty shit. I seriously am thinking about migrating but I believe that I played too much of a part of being an online mediator to just delete and move ship. 💀

the "viv is like j*k*r" anon again!
i actually didn't have anyone *particular* in mind when i spoke about the weirdness of some people being left alone while there's tons of evidence and that there's people who got/get cancelled for the smallest stuff- just the "scenario" in itself. there's just some people wanting to cause drama and they dig stuff up that isn't even necessarily "bad", just questionable maybe. i mean i was an edgy ass "creepypasta teen" so i know first hand what's its like saying stupid sh*t and paying the price for it and learning from it- but bringing that up NOW wouldn't even achieve anything since a) i never said anything hateful, b) i was a child, c) i learned from it and grew as a person and c) what relevance does it have now? i doesn't affect anyone and i know better now than to do it again. but some people would still insist it's important- those types of people/scenarios are what i was talking about- if that makes sense!
Makes complete sense! In fact, it's these sort of callouts that aided in making actual worrisome and bad things found on Viv virtually unknown. I see people bring up the snake bath art Viv made more than her literally bullying and calling a 15 year old nasty for being critical of her work, or her being happy that Dollcreep attempted to take his life, or her openly being happy that her fanbase was harassing someone over a meme, or her uplifting, liking, and following problematic people who make the fandom worse.
But damn, that snake bath art bro, that's where I draw then line/j
Look I get it, that snake bath art is very weird, especially with the fact that Addi would be drawn in more than one sexual scenario with snakes or not, but to make this one of the main things to call Viv out for is wiiild. There's also the pedo character situation. I get it....she's a pedo, and the tag Viv made underneath that photo was weird af, but I have seen people say that her making a character a pedo PERIOD makes HER a pedo which...no. if she would place Mirage in a good light and make it where it's good, that's when I'll agree since placing pedophilia as some good thing and not something gross is batshit, but if they're meant to be a villain and seen as horrible that doesn't automatically make you a pedophile. It just means you made an irredeemable villain. However, her way of treating Mirage was pretty similar to how she treated Valentino sometimes, just more with her personality rather than her horrendous disgusting behavior and gross attraction.
In any case, claims like these are WHY people are even MORE apprehensive against callouts for Viv and muddied the waters, ultimately setting back MANY victims under Viv's name. It's why I HATE these sorts of posts on her. It does more harm than good and makes any victims trying to say their peace look like clout chasers, liars, and have people see them as jealous. Though, of course, people shouldn't shut out valid evidence and criticism all cause some flimsy callout came out, but this is like "the boy who cried wolf." Scream too many times, only for it to be nothing will make it harder for people to take you seriously when something serious actually happened.

Why do people keep hating on Miles
Someone needs to help me out with this Miles Kane hate thing 😭😅 because the only thing I've been able to see, mainly on Twitter, toxic af, is that he has a "history" of "acting inappropriately" to women... And the only morsel of evidence to suggest anything like that I've been able to find is so flimsy it seems unwarranted in so many ways to use it to justify hating him...
There was apparently this interview in an article in 2016 I read and the reporter very obviously misunderstood Miles because 😅😭 when I read it I chuckled loudly it was something to the effect of "do you want to come upstairs and see" in reference to a double entendre between him and Alex doing something, she clearly must not have picked up on, which she took for an advance ☠️and also mistaking a kiss on the cheek goodbye from Miles as being another grasp, but Miles literally kisses everyone the poor pet and he apologized for any misunderstanding so I'm not sure what people are still on about 7 years after the fact.
Miles seems like the most down to earth musician/celebrity, and genuinely nice person and I kind of take it to heart a bit when I see these things crop up. Seems unfair.

Hiya! I was wondering if you knew of any literature about reforming the psych system because I agree its broken AF and as someone who's a part of it I want to be able to do better. No worries if not, I just saw posts you've reblogged and thought you'd be a good person to ask!
i do have some recommendations!
"mind fixers: psychology's troubled search for the biology of mental illness" by anne harrington and "comfortably numb: how psychiatry is medicating a nation" by charles barber both give a history of the medicalization of mental illness and critique the biomedical model. (hint: there's a lot of BAD science that makes up the core of psychiatry - the evidence for there being a biological basis for mental illness and psych meds working at all is very flimsy.)
the disorderland podcast debunks bad science, especially pop science, talks about the commodification of mental health, and explores whether the symptoms we pathologize are actually symptoms.
"madness and oppression" by fireweed collective is a workbook that helps you see how you're not crazy -- you're oppressed. it looks at how what a psychologist/psychiatrist would consider a symptom is actually a very rational and normal response to being oppressed.
"on your own: patient-controlled alternatives to the mental health system" by judi chamberlain is written by a psych survivor, and goes into her own experiences as well as what alternatives exist to the system. great for learning about peer support!
"stolen" by elizabeth gilpin is a memoir by a psych survivor. she was abducted and taken to a "treatment" program in Appalachia, then went to a boarding school that functioned more like a prison with abusive group therapy. this one's good for humanizing mental illness BUT can be triggering as hell to psych survivors - so proceed with caution.
"the zyprexa papers" by jim gottstein is probably my favorite on the list, it's about how the antipsychotic zyprexa causes diabetes and metabolic disorders, and is still commonly prescribed (this is how i got diabetes). it shows how psych med regulations are not enforced, especially since zyprexa is often prescribed off-label for conditions it hasn't been shown to be clinically effective for, and has led to death in some cases.
madinamerica.com is a good site to explore for psych abolition, debunking psychology research, new psychology research that centers patient's autonomy and rights, and personal accounts of mental illness. it's been around for a decade so there's a lot of quality content to sift through!
i also recommend reading about peer support and peer respite houses - i don't have any particular books or articles about them, but that can be a good jumping off point to looking for an alternative model to the current psych system.

Heyyy! I know its been a while but I’m back! After barely posting for the last two months, I’m back with my usual long af posts about EAH theories, headcanons, and questioning of plotholes.
Ok so like two days ago, I was on tv tropes looking through the EAH predictions page, where people wrote all of these predictions and theories about what route the show was gonna take….y’know…before it got cancelled. And I saw someone predict that the one of the revelations regarding the storybook of legends would be that if someone were to sign the real one, it would cause them to be possessed by the spirit of the ancestor who originally lived out the story before the legacy system was established, and therefore thats why so many generations afterwards were willing to act out those narratives. Now I’m not a hundred percent convinced that this WOULD happen if the show had been continued cause I mean there is some evidence against it, but its not most farfetched take I’ve heard in this fandom, so I’m willing to believe that it could’ve been a possibility. And there are some things in the franchise that I feel like to some degree could be read as a character getting “possessed”; namely two instances with Raven. The first taking place in the first book by Shannon Hale, where Raven puts on her mothers outfit for Legacy day for the first time and she sort of turns evil for like 5 minutes before snapping out of it. And idk about ya’ll, but to me that scene almost reads more as Raven being taken over by an external force rather than her acting out on her own conscience. And yes, its true the legacy day outfits have nothing to do with the storybook of legends, but they are in fact confirmed to be passed down from parent to child, implying that said outfits could go way back to the original ancestors. So that scene could be read as the dress being haunted by the spirit of the original Evil Queen and Raven being easily influenced by it since shes wearing it directly.
The second example is the more well known one. The scene in way to wonderland where Raven actually signs the book and goes full evil for like 2 minutes. This was actually mentioned as evidence by the original person who came up with this take. Now the scene is painted as Raven being overwhelmed and consumed by the amount of new power she has and almost loosing herself in the process. The original writer of the take however, went on to explain that this could’ve been the OG Evil Queen taking over Raven, meaning that even after the events of way to wonderland, her spirit still resides somewhere in Ravens body.
Again, this theory isn’t mine and while I’m not totally convinced, I have to admit it is a pretty interesting theory overall, and also I’ve seen takes that are way more far fetched than this could ever be. And to be fair, while the evidence provided for it is a bit flimsy, it does provide an interesting alternate way to see things in EAH. And I have to admit, the series would take a really mind blowing turn if it had continued and taken this route, I’d be hell curious to see what happened if this did turn out to be the case

Everyone must know about my crack theory that mr. such devastation's flat af kids are an allusion to the Stark kids from gamer of thrones, the (flimsy) evidence is:
- there's five of them, three guys, two gals
- would follow the wolf theme and tragedy befalling a family (woe woe woe is me!! This wasn't avoidable at all!!! 🙄)
- one is literally named rickon
And that's all. Werlyt already is bad eva fic so im just 🤔 about it

☠ What does someone have to do for an instant unfollow from you?
the salty af munday meme
Post or reblog a witch hunt callout over something that did not justify a whole callout, or something with extremely flimsy evidence of any 'wrongdoing' and it just comes across that someone's pointing the finger at someone just for doing something they didn't like. I saw it enough in the BNHA fandom in my nearly three years there and I have zero tolerance for callouts unless they're truly and genuinely necessary and the person being called out has done actual predatory or illegal behavior and there's proof to substantiate the accusations.

Naruto just learned Shadow clone because all it takes is forcing Chakra into it without any skill or control. Konohamaru learns Shadow clones at 11 years old as well, showing it’s not that difficult. Naruto just learned the Multi Shadow clone because Kurama gives him Big ass Chakra reserves. When Jiraiya trained him during the Chunin exams, Naruto spent the whole month summoning Tadpoles. In contrast, Sasuke in a month learned the Chidori, trained hard enough to equal Lee in speed and mastered his Taijutsu. He went from getting his ass beat by Weighted Lee to defeating a guy 5 Gates Lee was destroyed by. He was only able to learn Rasegan by using 3 hands and never mastered the Jutsu with 1. Therefore never really truly learned it the right way. 5 years up into the War arc he was still using extra hands to make a Rasengan so technically he didn’t learn it in a week nor 5 years. And again, Konohamaru shows that making a Rasegan is easy as long as you have 3 hands doing it. Naruto created Rasenshuiken (S Rank Jutsu) by having 1000’s of Shadow clones training for weeks getting decades of training done. He trained for decades, something the others didn’t have time to do. And still needed an extra Shadowclone to make it. 5 hands from decades of training aren’t impressive. He learns it because he has extra hands. Anyone could’ve learned both those Jutsu in the same amount of time if they had 3 to 6 hands. The Rasengan was stated to be Hard as AF but look at Konohamaru. With a Shadow clone he completed it. So if you want to make the Rasenshurken all it takes is more hands. Sasuke, on the other hand, created an S Rank Jutsu in just 3 years (Kirin) while training in other area’s.
lol, so now learning A rank techniques "isn't that difficult" according to you? Just because Naruto can do them, it means they're not that difficult now? So weak.
Konohamaru learns Shadow clones at 11 years old as well, showing it’s not that difficult. Naruto just learned the Multi Shadow clone because Kurama gives him Big ass Chakra reserves.
Who said anything about the regular shadow clones? And did you not read what I said? I said that every feat I previously mentioned was not dependent on Naruto's chakra reserves or on Kurama's aid. Naruto being able to do the Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu itself isn't because he had large amounts of chakra, because Kakashi can also do the technique, despite his chakra reserves being ordinary. Naruto can do it because he has the skill necessary to pull it off. Shadow Clone Jutsus have been his specialty ever since he graduated from the Academy. The large chakra reserves only means he can do it more often than others, it does not grant him the actual capability of performing the technique itself.
Naruto spent the whole month summoning Tadpoles. In contrast, Sasuke in a month learned the Chidori
And yet, Naruto was able to learn the Rasengan in a week, case closed. Why do you act as if his initial difficulty with the Summoning jutsu is proof of his overall lack of talent? It's such a stupid notion.
[Sasuke] went from getting his ass beat by Weighted Lee to defeating a guy 5 Gates Lee was destroyed by.
Sasuke didn't even beat Gaara, so that just shows how little credibility your words actually have, doesn't it?
He was only able to learn Rasegan by using 3 hands and never mastered the Jutsu with 1. Therefore never really truly learned it the right way. 5 years up into the War arc he was still using extra hands to make a Rasengan so technically he didn’t learn it in a week nor 5 years. And again, Konohamaru shows that making a Rasegan is easy as long as you have 3 hands doing it.
Again, your logic is so flawed it's almost unfathomable that you can't see it. Anon, if the Sannin were all in awe that Naruto managed to pull off the Rasengan (in a week, I will continue to stress this), then it's an extremely difficult technique to master, and no amount of your mental gymnastics will stop that from being true. Konohamaru being able to do the Rasengan doesn't suddenly make it an easy technique to perform. Any 12 year old kid managing to pull off an A rank technique, is extremely talented. And honestly, I can't believe you're actually clutching at straws so desperately, that you'd even try to insinuate that Naruto "technically didn't learn it" just because he needed clones to do it. Anon, nowhere does it say that it's a requirement for the user to perform the Rasengan with one hand. My god that's so utterly ridiculous. If someone can use the technique, it means they learned how to do it, Jesus Christ.
Why do you keep on saying "anyone could have done this if...", "anyone could have done that if...", when you have no proof of this whatsoever? That's not an argument. Anyone could've learned anything if their circumstances were suited for it, but that doesn't mean the accomplishment of the person who's circumstances were fit for it should be diminished. Case in point since you obviously want to place Sasuke on a pedestal so much - Sasuke only managed to learn Lee's taijutsu in that short amount of time because he possessed the Sharingan, his circumstances were suited for him to accomplish that feat, because someone without the Sharingan wouldn't have been able to do it. But why should that lessen Sasuke's accomplishment? He still needed the skill and physical capabilities to pull off the taijutsu that he copied. The same thing applies here - Naruto still needed the skill and talent to be able to combine a change in chakra nature with a change in chakra form, something which Kakashi explicitly says requires "natural talent" to be able to pull off, so I love how you just completely gloss over that point because you can't say anything about it.
Not only that, but you're claiming that Naruto amassed "decades" worth of training experience, which is just yet another one of your extreme exaggerations. Naruto amassed 4800 hours of training experience, which equates to 200 days:
Tumblr media
That's not even a year, and you're here claiming that he trained for decades in another feeble attempt to downplay his accomplishment. Check your facts, because just like your earlier assertion regarding how Sasuke apparently defeated Gaara when he clearly didn't, this again just further proves how little credibility your words possess.
The Rasengan was stated to be hard as fuck to do because it is hard as fuck to do. I'll repeat that just because Konohamaru also mastered it does not mean that it's an easy technique to perform, it just means that Konohamaru is also a talented shinobi. And no, it takes more than "more hands" to perform the RasenShuriken, as Kakashi says, it takes "incredible skill, natural talent, and intuition". When you have to blatantly ignore factual canon evidence to give your assertions more weight, that's when you know how truly flimsy your argument is. And that's not even mentioning how you conveniently opted to ignore the points about Naruto's mastery of Sage Mode and his Tailed Beast control, further showing the talent that he canonically possesses.

Actually I will disagree with for once K, she absolutely was showing off his house, the number of troll posts around her B'day is evidence of that, she put alot of pics up that were very obviously his house knowing that the Echelon would see. I still don't think she is living there but overnight stays are a definite.
Nope, that was not showing off.
Showing off would have been if she posted the same kind of shit that CB has posted from his house for years.
Or indeed the kind of shit SL's trashbags have posted from his house for years.
The ONLY pic from her birthday that comes even close was the one showing his floor tiles, because those were easily identified since not many people have a checkered floor.
But even that was flimsy af.
Not proper trolling or showing off. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Sadly... 🙁
I would enjoy a proper one. 😈🍿

Y'all The White Privilege/Victimhood on Good Girls Jumped Out!!
Season 2 Finale Spoilers below.
Good Girls is my show, and I enjoy the heck out of and always will, but I'm about to get Peak Tumblr analyzing this finale... so let's just go over this. I'm trying to process how this played out because ...
Dean was a serial cheater who cheated on his wife even when she was struggling with post-Partum depression. Beth didn't even find out the full-extent of his cheating because he only copped to his secretary AFTER Beth found out about it on her own. And that same secretary told Beth about all the other women this season because Dean never told her the truth. Plus he faked cancer to manipulate Beth and that was not addressed once all season.
Instead Dean got a soft edit where he became the rational, responsible adult and doting, dedicated father. He was the one to show Beth all the ways in which she erred with her criminal activities and putting them at risk. His infidelity was softened by adding backstory about how Beth closed herself off when she was battling post partum depression and beyond and he felt his emotional needs weren't being met and he felt inadequate because of how she treated him.
He took her kids as if to imply she was a terrible mother despite her being the primary caretaking parent to all four of their children since they were born up until she chose to take on the dealership. He took her kids away from her. But he never really suffered any consequences for how terrible he was and he ended the season in a comfortable friendship with Beth despite all the ways he wronged her as if he's the ideal, supportive husband. And he got redemption without earning it or acknowledging the extent of his shortcomings.
Boomer is the trashiest most despicable character of them all. He knew about the money laundering and had other illegal activities going on at the store. He attempted to rape Annie and did rape and emotionally abuse and manipulate Mary Pat. And Turner KNEW all of this but didn't care if it meant he could leverage Boomer to get to Beth. No charges for anything since he helped. And that's disturbing AF.
Boomer stole money from his grandmother constantly and blackmailed everyone. He was forcing Mary Pat to marry him. Then he bolted after he was presumed dead and was willing to let the girls go to prison for his murder. But despite everything he has done, the rape, the abuse, all the illegal crap he would've gotten off Scott free if not for Nana forcing him to take responsibility. He's still facing NO repercussions. What?
Mary Pat had ample time to get out of the business or turn the girls in, but she chose to blackmail them for more money instead even though it clearly isn't what Jesus would do.
She chopped up her husband's body and put him in the freezer so she could keep collecting his veteran benefits. She enlisted the girls to take Boomer out for her, but then ran Boomer over with her car, wrapped his body up in tarp and planned to dispose of him too. But when she found out he was alive and gone, she didn't tell the FBI or the girls. Instead she had them dispose of her husband's body thinking it was Boomer's.
Her part in the operation was dismissed by Turner as long as he could use her to take down Beth. So Mary Pat did all of that and got off Scott damn free. Because she was cast as victim. She was a victim long before she actually was one (regarding her abuse by Boomer). And nothing came from any of her actions. Victim or not there are still consequences, right? Apparently not.
Noah tampered with evidence and botched his own investigation based on his relationship with Annie. He jeopardized the entire case more than once. He slept with his mark and caught feelings. He openly lied and deceived both the agency and Annie and ... nothing comes from it? No consequences at all, huh? He gets to relocate to Arizona to be with his kid.
These are all characters have done varying degrees of bad to despicable things that should have resulted in some form of repercussions and yet they face none. Why?
Turner's obsessive focus on Beth in part has to do with his disgust over her pretending to be the white suburban mom and stepford wife entangled in all of this. He recognizes that she is the sort to get away with things because of who and what she is and the image she projects.
But then he also caters to this pervasive white (woman) victimhood issue that happens a lot. He never viewed Mary Pat as anything but a desperate single mom who is a victim no matter what she did, and he absolved her of her wrong doing and slapped her on the wrist just to get to Beth which counters everything he's intending to do with Beth. Hold her accountable image be damned.
Then there is Annie who is also a single mom who gets the sympathetic play to potentially turn on her own sister. She gets the doting boyfriend and companionship to make her consider it or to get information out of her. She gets the soft play. Like she doesn't have agency in her criminal plots with her sister and Ruby. Like she too is a victim of Beth's or whomever and warrants sympathy and the benefit of the doubt.
Contrast that with what Ruby gets. Ruby got harassed for months to the point of her having case to file a complaint. She got Turner putting the squeeze on her and her husband and family repeatedly and consistently.
And worse yet, Turner did this under the guise of "doing them a solid because he didn't want them to go down for this white woman" so to speak, but he still was willing to ruin them for her anyway.
Stan is the only one who got arrested and humiliated in front of his colleagues. He's the only one who went to jail. STAN whose connection to this is flimsy. The sole black man on their side of things got hauled into jail.
And then Ruby with the sick daughter who needs meds and the husband who was hauled away is treated like a demon by Beth for considering turning on her when Ruby was the only one facing any fire or harassment.
Ruby and Stan the most wholesome and logical and least problematic had their entire world upended and ruined and faced the brunt of the repercussions. Ruby and Stan were both facing charges and jail time while Beth faced nothing while they worked to build a case against her and Annie never was considered as a threat.
If Ruby didn't turn on Beth she and Stan could be sitting in prison while everyone else roamed free. Like, YIKES!
And the way Turner is both the guy who wants to take down this white woman who would likely catch a break in the system but also the means by which he does it by his abhorrent treatment of POC is disturbing.
The first season established that Rio was basically untouchable. The second season confirmed it when Rio was literally playing tennis with an attorney filling him on things and he has connections in the FBI.
So Turner never wants to go after Rio specifically because of this even though he knows Rio is Beth's boss and the bigger fish. No, he wants to take down Beth.
So that brings me to the final Rio scene that was the most disturbing of all. Turner has played fast and loose with the rules but still tried to come across as an earnest lawman wanting to do his job.
But Turner watches Beth shoot Rio multiple times because "Rio is her problem" and to save Turner.
And if it was really about doing what was right, he could have had her arrested right then and there. He heard their conversations. Knew about their connection. All of it.
But instead he sends her home. He keeps the gun with her prints on it as something else to hold over her I'm sure, but for what?
And then he kneels down, as a law enforcement person whose sole job is to protect and serve, justice and equality, fairness ... and he taunted a dying brown man instead of calling 911. We got a brown man gurgling, his life at the mercy of the law (made all the worse with it being an agent of color), and he toys with him, toys with the idea of whether or not he should call the ambulance and phone it in... assist him before he dies. He wants something out of Rio first before he can help.
Hella more Yikes. And what a brutal takedown of Rio. The potential death of a brown man at the hands of a white woman convinced she was victimized by him or the exploited potential death of a brown man by a cop. Yikes!
Then there is Beth who somehow throughout all of this walked away convinced that she was Rio's victim when she kept going back to HIM. They made their amends and made up for taking his money, and he said they were good. BETH was the one who went to him and left a string of pearls. She's the one who wanted more work and opportunities.
She was the one who wanted the keys to the kingdom. She's the one who wanted more work. She's the one who wanted a bigger role. She sought him out repeatedly.
She's the one who initiated their sexual relationship both times. She is who broke things off, but she is also who came back looking for more. She's the one who convinced herself she was his equal and his partner, but then shied away whenever he told her to prove it. She played hot and cold this whole time, and he went along with it anyway.
She claimed he never helped her when he did. He doesn't owe her anything at all but still did more than she ever gave him credit for. When she botched that situation with those druggies and thought they kidnapped her daughter, Rio did look into it. He even got her daughter's toy back for her.
Beth's biggest issue with Rio is she mistook Rio's silence for inaction.
She assumed because he wasn't giving her play by plays that he wasn't helping her, but that was the thing to, why did he need to help her?
She wanted to be Queen but didn't want the hard work. He recognized that she wanted this and he fostered it. He told her to take care of her rotten eggs. He encouraged her to fix her own problems. He held her accountable for her own actions.
And in turn, the man who actually listened to her. The one who actually treated her as an equal and respected her is who she shot because she claimed she was his victim.
He told her this shit is medieval. He told her if she wanted to be the king she had to kill the king. But a real queen would at least own her shit instead of pretending to be a victim.
She wanted a kingdom HE built without any of the dirty work and effort. She felt entitled to it.
And then she shot him hoping she killed him and Christopher Columbus appropriated his empire.
Is this your Queen?
That finale highlighted just how interesting this season has been. So in the end, Rio is the only who didn't "win" but too many of these other terrible characters get passes? Hm.

i’ll just be forthright with this because honestly idgaf
i come onto tumblr once in awhile still to do a lil reblogging, but man am i glad i stepped back from tesblr when i did because holy shit what a mess it seems to have been as of late. i do believe there were some instances where there was legitimate reason for concern, but otherwise? petty discourse? callout posts with flimsy evidence? callout posts at all? is there really nothing better to do than cultivate this needless negativity over content based on a work of fiction? “art imitates life” and all that, sure, but this most recent criticism is very much misplaced
normally i don’t comment on this sort of shit, especially when i’m not involved in it. however, a few of my (still very loved despite my absence) mutuals were, and i’m here to offer my support and to say that i still stand by them all as my friends.
i don’t feel like i should tag them out of respect for their privacy, but i hope you guys do see this. i know you guys are strong and resilient af. ily all 💕

The evidence for it is flimsy af but fandom clings to it because God forbid Keith interacts with/has a possible love interest with boobs and isn't someone on his fucking team. I hope to God in S5 this fucking theory crashes and burns.”

Sonic X!Rogue/Knuckles for the meme
B-But I haven’t watched more than five episodes ofSonic X  :’)  I actually hadn’t seen any of it prior to about a month ago? I’d like to watch more but it’s a work in progress, anon.
So the only real KnuxRouge content I’m familiar with is the second SonicAdventure. That’s where most of this is coming from. Under the cut~
when I started shipping it if I did:
When Knuckles saved her from falling after theirbattle at Meteor Herd. They had the hand hold moment. And then Rouge called hima creep that only saved her so that he could hold her hand. A+ dialogue. It wasgood. Very good.
my thoughts:
idk, KnuxRouge is very tropey, but I am weak. Therewas a femme fatale character. There was a sweet and strong and smart but inexperienceand dense af guy who probably wouldn’t know what flirting was if it kissed himon the nose. There was a conflict based in different ideological values. I’msorry, it was inevitable.
I suspect I would’ve started shipping it earlier ifI had played this game later in my life. At that time I was a little moretentative and relying on canon evidence before shipping. Now I’m all aboutmixing strong personalities and romance in hypothetical combinations and fuckcanon.
What makes me happy about them:
They’re both strong characters who seem to carrymore or less equal weight in the collision of their relationship. I’m actuallykind of surprised that the writers managed to not make it so that Rouge wasn’tovershadowed by Knuckles, despite the fact that he already had an established placein the series.
Also, I like that there’s a certain amount of…unseriousness to their struggle. A playfulness. Unlike Sonic and Eggman andTails legit murder attempts… For all the heatedness of Knuckles and Rouge clashingin their different ideas about duty and responsibility, when things ultimately startedtaking a more serious and fatal turn, they both came through for each otherinstead of for themselves. (I kind of joked about this before, but I do kind ofwonder if Rouge and shattering the Master Emerald do become part of a flimsyexcuse for Knuckles to justify leaving the tedium of sitting around on AngelIsland playing bodyguard to a rock.)
And, aw, the banter is fun.
What makes me sad about them:
That SA2’s plot is so, soooo bad. In terms of thisship in specific, it makes me sad that their big moment is the second time Rougewas damseled over the course of this game. And neither time she’s damseledmakes even the slightest bit of sense. What?!She’s going to fall from a great height into a pit of space lava?! She’s afucking bat!!! She can fly!!! And arguably she won that fightagainst Knuckles and, aaaaargh!!! Andthen the first time she’s damseled, she’s trapped in the military base by thepeople she’s working for as a double agent. It just makes zero sense. The plotof this game was so filled with holes and contrived BS. And I’m not evengetting into the gameplay mechanics. Ship deserved better.
In a less meta and more in-universe sense… I dothink in a romantic or otherwise emotionally intimate context, Rouge is aboutfive thousand times more adept than Knuckles. She could run circles around him,and I’m not sure you could trust her not to be manipulative about it, even ifshe had the best intentions. And she doesn’t always have the best intentions…
things done in fanfic that annoy me & things I look for in fanfic:
I haven’t really read any in detail. I pulled upsome Sonic stuff recently and was reminded uncomfortably of fanfiction relatedtropes specific to fandoms dominated by male fans. A lot of power fantasystuff, and dark morality themes that liked to think themselves complex but werereally simplistic and unsubtle, and female characters being victimised orotherwise uncritically robbed of their agency. None of this was about Knouge, but it kinda put me off the fandom. I’m sure there’s good fic hiding somewhere, but it put me off on looking for it for the time being.
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:
um, idk? I have a fondness for Julie-Su/Knuckles inthe comics, even though I do think the characterisation work wasn’t always veryclever. I like the other lady Echidnas with Knux too – so Knuckles/Tikal andKnuckles/Shade are both okay, imo. I think the Knuckles/Sally friendship in thecomics was really well constructed – the way it was set up around them havingthese similar but conflicting obligations was really clever – it couldtheoretically make a great romance. And for some reason I feel utterly charmedby the idea of Knuckles/Shadow after seeing those couple of comics about them.
For Rouge… I really don’t know… I know Rouge/Shadowis popular, and I think it could be good in the hypothetical – certainlythey’ve made a more stable team than Rouge&Knux – but… idk, in terms ofcanon it feels like there’s been quite a bit of Rouge taking interest in andcare towards Shadow as an individual, and not a lot of reciprocation whereShadow really considers Rouge beyond her capacity as an ally. It just seemslike a relationship very centred around /his/ needs and /his/ existential angst.Even when Shadow goes out of his way to save Rouge’s life, it feels like it’sset up as Shadow wanting to come to terms with his own morality and define forhimself what he’s spiritually capable of rather than ‘wow, I care about Rougenot dying’. All of which kind of turns me away from the idea that Shadow would everbe romantically interested in her in a way that could possibly respect that shehas her own needs and goals and values. I mean, I think this is up forinterpretation, and I think their relationship is interesting and could developin all sorts of ways… so I’m not really against the ship, but I remain kind ofunconvinced as of now.
Ugh, I feel like Rouge femslash should be where it’sat, but… who would I pair her with other than Amy? (no.) jfc, why are importantsonic female characters in such short supply?!? and why isn’t Rouge close toany of them?!?
My happily ever after for them:
Rouge decides to stash her hoard of gems on AngelIsland. She reasons that, because they’re stored with the Master Emerald, theMaster Emerald is also part of her collection. Knuckles humours her.
I think they’re often occupied with their ownobsessions and work. They probably spend long months away from each other whenKnuckles is doing Guardian work of one type or another, and Rouge is offtreasure hunting or working as a spy. They kind of reconvene and do battlecouple things together. They probably like travelling and treasure huntingtogether too, or otherwise visiting friends on the mainland.
I’m not sure how interspecies furry babies work, butthey may have a kid. ‘One. Only one,’Rouge says. The kid spends more time with Knuckles, training to be the nextGuardian. But they’re a little more enamoured with Rouge’s lifestyle – has a tastefor grand adventure and glamour. Knuckles’s life is struggle. Much compromise andreworking the system happens in the process of trying to reconcile expectations.
who is the big spoon/little spoon:
Rouge is little spoon.A little more like their animal counterparts, I imagine Knuckles is about twiceRouge’s size. So it’s very big big spoon, and very little little spoon.
what is their favorite non-sexual activity:
I think it’s included in that happy ending up there.Treasure hunting? Visiting friends? Digging through archaeological sitestogether, maybe. Does that overlap too much with treasure hunting? It’s aboutthe journey rather than the destination, though~
They both like swimming too right? They visit hiddenhot springs and oases and relax.
Thanks anon!!

Didn't think you whitesplained but appreciate you admitting it happens. Never heard FL say she's a WOC and this will upset people but I think shes lowkey racist. I'll explain: she was much lighter before so if she's "burdened" by the struggle when tan that's a choice which is a privilege (imgur*com/fUdundl). She denied white men benefit from white privilege to hide abuse and blocked fan indirects pointing out that undeniable fact. imgur*com/S8WtW4Ri, imgur*com/FqNgLI2 imgur*com/wMMSSKD
yep she sure did and it’s yikes af that she’s dating and defending a known sexual predator and abuser. that’s,, honey wyd
as for the photo, that’s the only one i’ve ever seen that makes her look white, so i’m skeptical about the whole “she’s white but tans to look brown” thing. lighting in photographs can do all sorts of stuff to skin tone, so that to me is flimsy evidence of whiteness. her mom is darker than her, too, so i do doubt the whole tanning thing.
but anyway she’s still not latina as far as i know. and therefore shouldn’t be playing latina characters.
