This was inspired by a very dear memory of my friends and I cuddling on a cold day before an exam. And also the concept of friendship itself. <3

You know Cynder and maybe others doing their own rendition of "Jackass" would make for another interesting AU
It WOULD. Increasingly over-the-top and risky stunts with elements (ESPECIALLY WIND) and blowing abandoned Dark Army bases. Stunts with the Ruins of Warfang’s and the Catacombs’s wacky interlocking architecture. Hunter helps as a “safety consultant” but he’s just as much there to get some adrenaline and airtime as anyone else.
He’s DEFINITELY base-jumped off the Floating Islands.
Volteer is there as a scientific consultant for mythbuster-style episodes, which they do frequently.

Where's Flame in your Cymber Rivalry AU? Does he eventually meet and fall in love with Spyro?
I’m not sure-I think Flame might be one of the random blacksmiths for the Dragon Armies, or he might be one of Ember’s staff officers. She picked him as one of her staff because she trusts him and thought he could handle the pressure, but it’s turning out he might not be able to, so she very well may have to dismiss him-I haven’t decided yet. Once Spyro shows up, if this AU is taking the course I think it is, his first encounter with Flame may be with a blacksmith absolutely Marinating in stress,  a staff officer for one of the Dragon Armies’ generals who is also Absolutely Marinating In Stress, or a disgraced blacksmith turned staff officer turned blacksmith again. It’ll be interesting, I can tell you that.

Two boys in love. My AU version of Flame, surname Coldcoal, blacksmith in training (though he’d really much rather be glassblowing), and Spyro. These two are good, sweet boys who gently encourage each other to be their best. They can get a bit rowdy at times, but they believe in each other and genuinely want each other to succeed and be happy.
Spyro and Flame bumped into each other accidentally in Warfang’s marketplace, and Flame was more than a little snappy towards him as he was working at the time and quite unhappy (he doesn’t handle pressure well and being pressured down a certain career path certainly fits the bill), but eventually the two became friends, and then (boy)friends/beaus.
Ember and Flame are very good friends despite their difference in socio-economic status/class, and Ember wholly enables and encourages Flame’s glassmaking attempts and even lets him use her family’s forge when he needs his own workspace.
Flame’s family has relatively cool dark red fire, hence the name. Here, he’s wearing the bolo tie of the glass guild and a sea-green bandanna. Spyro is wearing a ceremonial collar with the aethercrest on it given to him as a gift because I want him to be.
Also: Cynder and Flame are  enthusiastic jogging buddies and run around the city together while Spyro and Ember walk behind them and chit-chat.

Flame’s mom, Ashe Coldcoal. She’s had a hard life. Her claws and scales are blackened and cracked from a lifetime of working at the forge, and financial struggles, being forced from her home in the Ashfall Steppe by the eruption of the Warfang supervolcano and the formation of the Burned Lands, and by acting as single mother to Flame and Flavius after their father either died or disappeared. Flavius is older than Flame; you can tell where Ashe really gave in to despair by looking at their names. Her head frill flopping over isn’t normal-it typically only happens in very stressed or sick dragons.
Ashe is an incredibly proud dragon who takes great pride in her craft of blacksmithing, so Flame wanting to become a glassblower instead after Ashe had spent years training him was a slap in the face for her. However, she begrudgingly supports him.
I really love Flame’s design, and I liked it so much I wanted to incorporate aspects of it into the rest of his family. I wanted to have Ashe look like a literally burnt-out version of Flame, to reflect what could happen to him.
