Ekubo Week Day 3 - Possession
(Dimple and Tome, word count: 1.2k)
“Hey Mr. Dimple, can I ask you something?” Tome asked.
She was lounging in the cushy seat meant for clients, her feet up on the tea table. Reigen wasn’t around to lecture her about getting the table dirty, having left with Serizawa for a job earlier. He had tasked Tome and Dimple with “watching the office”, which was an obvious ploy to make Tome feel important. They weren’t likely to have any walk-in clients on a Wednesday afternoon. Reigen could have easily closed up and told Tome to go home early. But she would have complained about losing potential customers, insisting that she was enough of a professional to handle intakes.
As if she really cared about being professional, with the chip crumbs she was leaving everywhere, or the tinny music she was playing through her phone speakers.
“Calling me Mr. Dimple? Must be serious…” Dimple lifted off Reigen’s desk, where he had been dozing (it’s not slacking off if he doesn’t get paid to be here). “Let me have a chip first.”
Tome held out the bag to Dimple. He took three chips and ate them all at once. He didn’t love the shrimp flavor, but they made a satisfying crunch in his mouth. The faint touch of Tome’s emotional intent behind the offering felt curious and hungry, which was typical of Tome.
She waited for him to finish chewing, then burst out, “Can you tell me about possession?”
Dimple belched loudly to cover up the way he jolted at the question. “Hey, what kinda question is that?” he said. “There’s nothing to say about it. Spirits can possess people, end of story.”
“But how does that work?” Tome leaned towards him, her eyes glinting the way they did when she was asking Serizawa about what the internet was like in the nineties. “When you possessed me, you grabbed my teacher’s arm and broke his grip. There’s no way I could do that! Were you using your spirit powers to make me stronger?”
Dimple wanted to end this conversation. “No,” he said flatly. “I can bring out people’s potential. You could have gotten out of that guy’s hold, if you lost your physical limits. Maybe try lifting weights sometime.”
“Ugh, I’m not gonna start lifting weights all the time. I’m not Mob,” said Tome, rolling her eyes. “So you could make me do anything I’m physically capable of? Could you make me win at arm wrestling, or jump two meters into the air?”
“Or,” said Dimple in the best Evil Spirit Voice he could muster, “I could make you bite your fingers off. Did you know that your jaw is strong enough to do that?”
Tome looked unimpressed. Ugh, he must be seriously out of practice. “How about telepathy? Could you help me awaken the ability to communicate with aliens? I wanna know if there’s other species out there, besides the ones we already know-“
“Do you know what happens to humans who get possessed?” Dimple made his form larger, his voice deeper. “You’ve seen it yourself a few times now. Their bodies are weakened at best, and their minds are in shambles. The spirit eats away at your very soul. Is that what you want for yourself?”
Tome didn’t even flinch. Curse Reigen and his bizarre ability to attract the densest teenagers in the world. “Then how come you didn’t eat my soul that one time? Or Mob’s soul? He told me that you possess him sometimes.”
Did Shigeo really have to gossip to this girl about him? “Just drop it, Tome. I’m not gonna possess you for your amusement.” He flounced back onto Reigen’s desk, sending papers flying.
Tome had the grace to look slightly ashamed. “Sorry,” she muttered. “I didn’t mean to upset you. I was just wondering.” She sat up in the chair and pulled out her phone.
Dimple sighed mentally. He didn’t mean to upset Tome either, but she had such a casual attitude towards evil spirits, it freaked him out a little bit. Her random questions were harmless enough, but asking a spirit to possess her? Was she a complete idiot?
She must be getting the wrong impression by hanging around Shigeo and Reigen. They could all treat him like a harmless pest because he couldn’t really hurt them; Shigeo was too powerful, and targeting his friends would lead to him getting exorcised instantly. Tome seemed to think that because she was under the protection of various powerful espers, she was automatically safe from evil spirits.
If she had met the kinds of evil spirits Dimple had encountered, she’d be singing a different tune. But Dimple didn’t want to scare her. She didn’t deserve that kind of fear, and besides, scaring her would just make her more desperate for answers.
Reigen was like that, too. Despite having no powers of his own, he never seemed to know when to run away from a dangerous situation. Which was usually fine, because people like Shigeo or Serizawa were usually around to save his ass, but the man seemed to think he was some kind of actual spirit medium. One time, he’d tried to stop a murderous evil spirit by convincing it that haunting was against the law.
He’d even asked Dimple out for drinks before! What a stupid conman.
It was true that he possessed Shigeo sometimes. And not always in life-or-death situations. Once, Shigeo hadn’t slept well and wouldn’t wake up for school on time, so Dimple took his body to school and took notes for his first few classes. It still shocked him every time he effortlessly took control of Shigeo’s body. The kid had a super-tough psychic barrier that should make it impossible for him to be possessed, but Shigeo always dropped that barrier for him. He didn’t even need to be asked; that trust was always there, even when Shigeo wasn’t awake to give it.
When were these humans going to wise up?
Tome spoke up again. “I know what evil spirits can do,” she said. “Plenty have tried to kill me before. But I’m sick of seeing spirits attacking people. That’s why I asked you, Dimple. I guess…” she fidgeted with her phone, “I wanted to know… the good side of spirits?”
Dimple scoffed. “There aren’t good spirits. Even I’ve done bad stuff before.” “Yeah, well, you aren’t right now, though.” Tome looked right at Dimple, who was starting to feel small. “I mean, Mr. Reigen trusted you to look after me. So you can’t be that bad.” She offered him the chip bag.
God, was Shigeo’s sappiness rubbing off on everyone?
Dimple grabbed the entire bag and emptied the contents into his mouth. “Don’t be so sure,” he said with a mouth full of chip crumbs. Tome swatted at him. “You better clean up all those crumbs before Mr. Reigen and Mr. Serizawa get back, Mr. Evil Spirit,” she said.
“Hey, some of those are yours, you brat!”

Obey me brothers with a Shigeo Kageyma/Mob like GN! reader
Tumblr media
Authors note: I got this idea from the overpowered child trope (my fave) and thought this would be interesting. For people who don't know this character he's a strong esper (Psychic user) from the anime Mob Psycho 100. (I really recommend this anime!)
The reader is Mob's age so they're about 14 (This is purely platonic). They also have Mobs personality.
Cw: Slight lesson 6 spoiler in Lucifer's section, Slight lesson 4 spoiler for Levi's section, Obligatory lesson 16 spoiler in Belphie's section
Lucifer:
At first he'll dismiss your abilities.
The first time he probably sees your powers is when you stop his mug of coffee from falling off his desk
He appreciates it but he still thinks of your powers as the equivalent of a party trick
Your just a child! Surely you won't be too powerful.
Then when Luke ends up in the underground tomb and Lucifer is just about to attack him you end up sending him flying trying to protect Luke
At first he's furious
How dare you attack him!
But then when he realizes You sent Him flying across the room he starts rethinking how strong you are
Afterwards he's still a little salty he was attacked by a child but he does have some newfound respect for you now that you've showed your strength
He tells you to have pride in yourself when you start to feel insecure or if you get shy with things such as public speaking
"MC, If you'd like I can help you practice your presentation for your class tomorrow. I know you can do it with a bit of practice <( ̄︶ ̄)>" (You spent 5 minutes standing in silence in front of the class during your presentation)
Mammon:
When he first hears about this the first thing he thinks of is how he can use this to his advantage
(He's essentially Reigen 😭)
"Whoa! Can you read minds? I could make a pretty fortune using you for psychic readings! ☆*:.。.o(≧▽≦)o.。.:*☆"
He kinda treats you like Luke since you're so young
He essentially becomes your new big brother
"It doesn't matter if ya have powers or not, as the Great Mammon i'll be here to protect ya!ヽ( `д´*)ノ"
If you have trouble with class, mainly math, he'll try to help you as best as he can
He's really good at math, especially problems that involve money so you don't have to worry about getting behind
He uses you as a getaway whenever witches come to him to collect his debt
He mostly asks to see your powers in really dumb ways like making things float but he still thinks your cool nonetheless
You and him together probably makes Lucifer grow more grey hairs.
Leviathan:
He thinks you're just a random normie at first but when he finds out you have psychic powers he goes full nerd mode
The first time he finds out is when he tries to attack you during the TSL quiz
Out of reflex you protect yourself and he ends up running full force into a protective barrier around you
At first he goes to wallow in his room because he literally just embarrassed himself by running into the barrier like an idiot but then he's like wait a second you have powers?!?!
He ends up rushing to your room and starts to ask a bazillion questions
"Whoaaa!!! You have powers? It's just like that one anime I saw! (°ロ°) !"
He probably ends up showing you a bunch of psychic related anime and compares some of them to you
He probably ends up asking you if you want to cosplay or rp these characters
He's over the moon if you agree
He ends up finding you really cool
He totally relates to your social anxiety and you two try to help each other get hyped up for any type of public presentations
He probably stands frozen with you in front of the class too 💀
Satan:
He's a bit shocked when he finds out you're a psychic since that isn't common in humans
He asks you if he can research you and takes notes about your behavior and such
He's actually very impressed at the fact that your so strong
He kinda feels bad when he realizes that you have to keep your emotions in check to stop you from hurting others
He tries to help you by taking you to rage rooms or he let's you vent to him
"You shouldn't hold in your emotions MC, it'll do more harm than good to you. (メ` ロ ´)" (kinda hypocritical coming from him)
He's a bit jealous at your endless compassion
He helps you with any of the classes you're having trouble in
Asmodeus:
His first thought probably "Wow! They're so cute! ♡" (platonically)
He definitely criticizes your sense of fashion 😭
Tries to teach you to talk to people or be less awkward
Uses you for his devilgram photoshoots
"No MC angle the camera like this!" "Can you make the air around me look sparkly? (⌒▽⌒)♡"
It would be funny if Asmo's narcissism rubs off on you and you end becoming 100% carried away
I can't think of much for Asmo I'm sorry o(〒﹏〒)o
Beelzebub:
He thinks it's actually kinda cool
Probably asks you if you can make food magically appear or something
"Mc, can you magically make some BLT devil sandwiches, gigadeath burgers, and some hellfire curry rice? (*´ڡ`●)"
Unfortunately for him you can't magically make food but you can help speed up plant growth!
With your help you two can make a pretty impressive fruit and vegetable garden (If Beel doesn't end up eating up first)
He sort of relates to the whole 'not knowing how to express yourself' thing
"Sometimes I find it hard to express myself too but that's ok, you're still cool to me. ٩(。•́‿•̀。)۶"
Belphegor:
Well... You're still human so he probably will still hate you in the beginning of your friendship
Instead of getting strangled you probably end up being able to fight back against him albeit reluctantly
He ends up being pretty impressed that a human can defend them self against a demon
Afterwards when you two end up becoming friends he probably asks you for dumb stuff with your powers
"MC, can you teleport me to class." MC, can you make my bed feel like a cloud." "MC... (:3」∠)"
I hc that Belphie can astral project so you and him can astral project together and do things like prank Lucifer or scare the others

So, listen, I'm not blind to canon but it's my heckin AU and if I want Serizawa to be really tall and fat then that's my choice, that's canon now, done
As usual, written as f/o content but you may do as you wish
First Kiss - Serizawa Katsuya
Tumblr media
Summary: Ren and Serizawa share their first kiss after Serizawa comes in looking particularly sexy
Word count: approx 900
I was closing up later than usual. It was a rainy, grey day. I was looking forward to going home and snuggling up in bed, when the door opened and Serizawa walked in. He was dripping wet.
"Hey, Seri! What on earth happened to you? You're soaking wet!"
Serizawa smiled sheepishly, looking at the ground. "I forgot my umbrella."
"Aw, baby, I'm sorry," I walked over to him and took off his jacket and handed him a towel. "Still having trouble with that?"
He sighed. "Yeah… Sorry," he said, as he sat down, drying off his hair and face with the towel.
"Don't be sorry," I said, grabbing his arm gently after pulling up a seat across from him. "I mean, hey, I'm getting a pretty sweet view." I gestured to his chest and stomach where his shirt clung, basically see through.
He blushed as red as a tomato. "You like the view?" he mumbled, "Even though I'm, you know… fat?"
I stared at him ludicrously. "What has that got to do with anything? It doesn't matter to me what you look like, I'll always find you attractive. Whether you're short and skinny like Reigen, or whether you're big and tall, like you, or anything in between. I'll always like the view. If I'm being honest," I leant forward and put my hand on his stomach. I felt him tense, briefly, before relaxing again. I felt his breathing steady under my hand. His shirt was wet, but he was radiating heat. "It's one of the things about you I find sexiest."
Serizawa blushed furiously. "Really?"
"Yes, of course really," I laughed, "is it so shocking?"
"No one's ever commented on my appearance like that. Especially not regarding my being fat."
"Well, people are idiots. I'm absolutely positive Reigen finds you, including you being fat, very attractive too. He's just a dumbass who can't express his emotions."
Serizawa laughed and blushed even more, as he stared at the ground for a while. We sat there like that for a time, and I held his hand. We hadn't been together all that long but he had such a sweet vibe about him I didn't mind the silences.
Suddenly, he leant forward and gave me a kiss on the cheek. My heart beat straight out of my chest and I started stammering despite myself. It was just a kiss on the cheek but I hadn't expected Serizawa to be so forward. It was all too brief.
Serizawa began breathing rapidly. "I'm so sorry, I'm sorry, it's just no ones ever been that nice to me before, or, not just nice but… I can't believe someone like you is attracted to someone like me and attracted to what I've been made to feel is my biggest flaw to hear that it's one of your favourite things is just -"
I touched his face gently, cupping his cheek and encouraging him to look me in the eyes. His eyes were wide, and he was still blushing. His hair was a matted, wet mess on his head. He stammered to a halt.
"You missed," I said, smiling.
He looked at me, his eyebrows furrowed. "I… huh?"
"You missed," I repeated, leaning in until our foreheads touched. I paused for a second, waiting to see if he was going to pull away. When he didn't, I leant in, leaning forward in my chair, closing the gap between our lips. His face was still slightly wet from the rain, and I could taste the rainwater as we kissed. It was very gentle. His mouth was soft, and I reached up to hold onto the back of his head, burrowing my fingers into his hair. We pulled away, gently, and he sighed.
"Wow."
"Wow," I sighed. We sat there for a moment, our foreheads still touching. I watched his chest slowly rise and fall, feeling his soft breaths inches away from me. After what felt like an eternity, I stood up. "Well, it's starting to get dark. I should probably pack up."
He smiled sheepishly. "I can help… I'll walk you home."
"Aww, thanks Seri."
We finished packing up the bakery and I grabbed an umbrella for us to walk home. He never seemed to mind as much when we were under it together, and I didn't mind having an excuse to be so close to him. I held onto his hand gently with my spare one, our fingers intertwined.
We walked up to my front door. It was still pouring down rain, but we were under a small shelter from the porch roof. "Well, I would give you a kiss goodbye, but," I looked up at him, pointedly addressing the approximate foot of height difference between us, "gonna need some help."
I assumed he was going to bend down, but he grabbed under my arms and hoisted me up, before grabbing my legs and holding them at his hips. I held on tight, and wrapped my arms around his neck, wasting no time closing the gap between our lips. It was more passionate then before, clumsy, but still wonderful. "Someone's feeling confident today," I smiled.
"Yeah… Well, you make me really happy. I trust you. I'm trying to make you happy too," he looked down, "even if it means taking more risks."
"Well, if you're ever uncomfortable let me know, but I am loving this."
We kissed again, briefly. I didn't want to ever stop. "Would you like to come inside?" I asked.
"Um, yes please."

Weirdos
Part 1 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9
Shigeo observed the street between the slats of his shutter. His last customer crossed the road, disappearing from his field of vision. The ground was still damp from the previous day's rains. Without much spirit, he sat down in front of his desk and opened the log book to update the record of the consultation. When Taka had given him the "Business Management for Dummies" book he hadn't expected to find anything useful but the yellow and black spine was still watching him along with his calculator and a pencil holder. Taka had even underlined and marked with post-its the most important things.
In his own way, Taka was a very strange kid. Maybe that was why he kept insisting on helping him in the office when there were a million more interesting things for a thirteen-year-old to occupy his afternoons with. For months, Shigeo had been convinced that sooner or later he would eventually tire of it but it hadn't happened yet. After almost a year, Shigeo was beginning to have doubts that it would ever happen.
The first time Taka didn't show up at the office, Shigeo didn't think anything of it. It wasn't like the office was the best place for a kid. Neither on the second day.
Or the third.
It had been two weeks since Shigeo had heard from Taka when he finally started to worry. Arataka Reigen was no idiot. There was no way anything bad could have happened to him. Although sometimes, the kid had the virtue of being too smart for his own good.
"Phone's off or out of range."
Shigeo cursed himself. Perhaps he should have done well to remember much earlier how he had met him. If something had happened to the kid and Shigeo hadn't been there to protect him he was never going to forgive himself.
Without a second thought, he grabbed his coat from the hanger and didn't bother to put it on before running downstairs.
Shigeo didn't know how long he had been wandering around the neighborhood when he finally spotted Taka, all alone, sitting on the swings in a park nearby.
"Kageyama-san!" the kid stood up drawing a smile as soon as he saw him. "What are you doing here?"
Shigeo noticed the knot in his stomach untie. In the last few hours, a dozen horrible scenarios had crossed his mind, each one more gruesome than the last.
"Your cell phone was off and I hadn't heard from you for many days."
"Oh, it's dead and mom can't buy me another one until she gets paid." Taka gave herself a little push. The chains squeaked with the swinging. "I'm sorry I didn't say anything."
"That's all right. If you have other plans, you don't have to come." Shigeo shrugged. "But the office isn't the same without you."
"Did you miss me?" Taka dug his feet into the ground, bringing the swing to a complete stop. " So what would you do without me, right?"
"Right." Shigeo ruffled his hair. "I'm glad you're okay."
"Kageyama-san, can I ask you something?" Taka's voice sounded tremendously small.
Shigeo nodded his head.
"Have you ever hated having powers?" It was the first time Shigeo had seen him so serious.
"It's not always easy and not everyone is able to understand what it means. Sometimes I'd rather not have them but they're as much a part of me as the color of my skin or the black of my hair. Why that question all of a sudden?"
"It's nothing, just curious." Taka looked away, letting his gaze wander. "It doesn't matter anymore either."
"Why the long face?" Shigeo sat down on the swing that was still empty. "How about I buy you ramen and you tell me what happened?"
"Oh! Yeah! Ramen!" Taka jumped up, raising his arms, any worries completely forgotten for the moment.

[One-sided, Reigen has a new boyfriend]
MobRei | Mob Psycho 100 13-01-2023
1630 #mobrei where some guy tries to get into a relationship with Reigen and Mob is jealous about it, but can't really do anything about it because he doesn't want shisho to hate him (and shisho seems happy...).
Random guy obviously sees how Mob looks at Reigen, and even if shisho is oblivious to Mob's love for him, that guy isn't. and that guy also sees how much Reigen seems to like the kid, which Mob could easily ruin his attempt at wooing Reigen.
Mob really wants to ruin that guy's plan but he doesn't do it.
But he doesn't really need to because the guy shot himself in the foot multiple times all by himself.
Because he decided to make Mob his enemy.
The less he tries to be friendly with Mob, the more Reigen seems unsure of the guy.
When he tries to be friendly with Mob, it comes off as extremely fake and Reigen sees that (meanwhile Mob doesn't mind adding some hurt and sad acting, just a tiny bit).
When he sees that doesn't really work he tries to stage events and lies about Mob being the one to actually try and cause problems to create a gap between them ("He's probably jealous that I'm stealing all your attention...").
But Reigen calls bullshit on that immediately.
Mob purposefully dropping a drink or food on someone to ruin their date clothes? Mob using his power to keep someone from coming to the office? Mob *threatening someone*?
Yeah right, Mob would never do any of that.
and the more time goes the more this guy is just digging himself a deeper grave.
When Reigen talk to Mob about it (since most of it is lies about Mob himself) it's not hard to act sad, disappointed and comforting.
He doesn't fully need to act it out, some of it is actually genuine. Mob know that realistically speaking, his chances with Reigen are low (at least, at the moment). And if he's going to see Reigen date, he would at least want the person to be as nice and caring as his shisho.
Not some dickhead who tries to push people close to Reigen away from him, uses Mob as an excuse for shitty things he did and overall isn't a good person.
So when the inevitable of Reigen dumping that guy comes, he can't help feeling proud of his shisho for doing so, even more so since he has a first row to the event (the idiot decided to come to the office to try and talk it out, didn't work).
Mob can't help throwing a smug smirk at the guy when he's on his way out.
He didn't even have to do anything, that guy did it all.
And when the next day he comes back with flowers to try and win Reigen over again, the man is surprised to meet Mob near the bottom of the stairs.
He looks pretty pissed, since the teenager shouldn't have been there ("Shouldn't you be at your club practice or something?").
But he shut up quickly when the air suddenly grows heavy and thick, goosebumps raising all over his body as Mob looks down at him from where he's in the stairs. A dangerous glint in his eyes as psychic power crackles slightly around him, hair standing up slightly.
"I didn't do anything because it would have made Reigen-shisho sad and maybe mad at me," Mob says, "But now that he's dumped you and doesn't care about you anymore, I won't stop myself, you better disappear quickly or I'll be the one making sure of it" he warns him, light flickering in the hallway.
The guy decides to follow his survival instinct and runs away, never to be seen at the office ever again.
"Why did you go back out? You had just arrived" Reigen points out from where he's sitting at his desk.
"I had dropped my keys on the stairs" Mob smiles with showing him his set of keys.
"Better be careful next time Mob! It could be troublesome if someone picked them up"
Reigen tells him.
"I'll be more careful next time" Mob assures him with a soft smile, going back to his desk ready for another calm evening at the office without any pests around.

Living in Reverse (Part V)
Perhaps the best thing to do would have been to terminate the contract and find another office. Taka couldn't stop thinking about Katsuya. It was what was still left and what had disappeared. The empty desk, the mugs in the closet, the abandoned trench coat on the hanger next to reception, the textbooks on the shelves. The memory of Katsuya was like a ghost that haunted him everywhere.
"You don't need to get gloomy." Taka sat down, letting himself slump against the backrest.
Maybe he had always been doomed to end up alone with his ghosts. Mob had just been the first to leave him behind. The only ones who still dropped by from time to time were Dimple and Tome; and Taka still wondered why.
Taka missed having Tome in the office. At twenty-five she wasn't much more normal than she had been at sixteen but Taka wouldn't have expected things to be any different either. Tome was always going to be Tome, no matter how much time passed. Taka had only been able to be happy for her when, after graduating from college, she had gotten a job as an exhibit manager for paranormal phenomena at the city's history museum.
If someone had told him that nine years later, they would still be keeping alive the tradition of going to Mount Shipwreck every New Year's Eve, Taka would have laughed in their face, but incredible as it seemed, the two of them were the only ones who had never missed the appointment.
The sound of the door hitting the wall almost managed to make his heart skip a beat. For a moment, he expected to see Katsuya in the doorway, doubled over with exertion as he tried to catch his breath.
"Reigen, I know you're an idiot, but I didn't think you were that much of an idiot."
"'Tome!?" Taka stood up with a start and tried to rearrange his hair properly. That morning he had barely bothered to comb his hair before leaving home. "What are you doing here? You're supposed to be working today."
"Serizawa says you guys broke up." Tome stepped closer until they were barely inches apart, a frown on her face. "How are you?"
"You didn't need to come just for that." Taka sighed. "I still know how to use a phone, thank you. I'm not senile yet."
"Ah, no. It's hard enough to tell when you're telling the truth face to face." Tome pointed a finger at him. "I bet you haven't told anyone."
"Dimple knows." Taka shrugged. Technically it wasn't a lie, though he hadn't gotten around to telling him. "I'm fine."
"And Mob?"
"Mob? Why should he know?" The question caught him off guard.
It wasn't as if in his lowest moments Taka hadn't thought to call him but Mob had his own life and a thousand more important things to worry about. Maybe he was just scared to acknowledge that his relationship with Mob was just another one of his memories. Maybe he was afraid to make that call and find out there was no one on the other end.

Fanservice : Not Your Typical Term.
Tamaki : Okay, Japan. Give me a good reason about this situation. Fanservice was coined and termed back in the 20th century when Cuite Honey debuted before Sailor Moon. I know, I know, ever Shoune, Seinen, or whatever type of manga that is ever been adapted into an animation series in every year? What's the deal with Fanservice, why does it have to be a term that is literally stupid?
Lucy : Oh stupid you say? If everyone think Fanservice is ruining japanese animation in every year, it's all because of the term was coined back in the 20th century, I was depicted for fanservice and they started to draw this on the computer! (shows a picture to Tamaki)
Tamaki : Oh my God! Is that you as a dancer? That's what Fanservice is about? I just don't know why had so much fanservice on social media! Why does Japan needed as a fanservice! The only reason that I keep yelling like a whiny little b*tch to think I, a Firefighter girl who was baite as Fanservice bait and you are! I'M GONNA KNOCK THE SOCKS OF THESE PEOPLE AND REGRET THAT I NEVER EXISTED IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! *panting*
Lucy : Tamaki, look, I get it. I see your point. Fanservice is a term that was needed for attraction to a bunch of "horny" teens that what adults wanted. Everything is not always penis-shaped-I mean, not all is shapes and sizes. Lucky for me, I was Fanservice bait. It's because of us, Women and men, Women in Japanese animation are always the bait for Fanservice. Even the crotch shots. They always take a picture of a men crotch! When did the animators of AOT and Dungeon Meshi of taking pictures of a men's crotch? That is not what we intended see people's private parts.
Tamaki : True. (starts crying) I really hate my f***ing life! Ever since I was in the State of Maryland for years of my life, I've been a stuck up nun to get the Lucky Lecher Syndrome out of my system! And do you know where did my syndrome ended up at? I left my Lucky Lewd Syndrome and I threw it away in British Columbia! I didn't deserved all the hate to think that I'm the worst, I wanted a life to end a nightmare! And all I wanted was to have a happy life, but thanks to the author being perverted heartless moron, he would've give me a proper development! Blame on him!
Milly : Oh my. You think Japan has gone too far with the fanservice thing? I mean our shows don't have Fanservice with in it, we're always highest rated of all time since Frieren became number one and we don't need the fanservice in our shows. Because, Fanservice is nothing more than a term coined by the people of the world. Not just your typical term.
Tamaki : You know, ever since I wore that Naked Apron incident on ep10, I never get the feeling that I wanted to be well-deserved. If this hadn't been the author or the country, we would've feel all of us better by now. Guess the Fanservice is way off the hook. I wonder if we step away Fanservice more often.
Lucy : And you can say that we are in fact that we---[in their bras] Huh? Hey what the--? [goes topless] Oh my! (covers her breats) That wasn't part of the deal!
Tamaki : Hey! No fair! Japan, you said that Fanservice would never go too far! Now it's way getting too far!
Meryl : I don't even know what's going on here. Besides the fact that I'm only wearing my shirt and that's personal for you tell.
Milly : Uhh, Meryl? You're not even wearing anything on below.
Meryl : Huh? Hey! Where are my pants! Somebody took my pants!
Nelson : Ha-[goes naked suddenly] Huh?
Meryl : Help! What's going on!? This is not happening!
[suddenly everyone goes naked]
Milly : Uh-oh. This can't be good.
Meryl : Well, I suggested
Vash : (seen naked) Help! Japan's gone mad with Fanservice power!
Wolfwood : Turn everything back, you idiots!
Sayaka Maizono : This entire country's backwards and I can see myself in Idol birthday suit! Everyone can see our voluptuous body!
Reigen : Let's scream and run around in circles!
(people screaming and panic)
Lucy : Why the hell would this country do this to us!? This wasn't how Fanservice goes! This is way off the hook!
Usagi : For your information, Casual Nudity will do just fine!
Minako : No it's not! Well, I do so that you are officially right. Casual nudity will do just fine.
Lucy : (groans) Why did we ever to be brought into this country? This officially sucks now.
Tamaki : Well, at least you still know about Fanservice, it can be a good thing or a bad one.
Lucy : Maybe, you're right. And one wished that Casual Nudity in Japan will do just fine.
Cosmo : You got it!
Tamaki & Lucy : Cosmo! NOOOO!!!
*POOF*
Lucy : Officially, we're still being baited for fanservice or not. We have officially getting a pair of new clothes.
Tamaki : What are you talking about? We are in our new clothes, everyone in Japan is wearing the birthday suit. Nothing but nakedness on earth.
Filia : I thought public indency would be cool. Well, what a lame one. It's cool that we are officially in our new birthday suits.
Vash : Hey, guys! Thanks for getting our clothes back.
Milly : Wait, I thought Fanservice would remove your clothes. How did you get it back.
Vash : Easy, that's logic for you.
Milly : Then why are we still our birthday suits?
Meryl : [To Milly] I told you that everything will not be fine.
Milly : [To Meryl] Not if we ever did something nice to this country.
Tamaki : Of course. I'm finally glad that I'm offically done with that Lucky Lecher Syndrome. Thank goodness I finally got rid of it in British Columbia!
Cosmo : Oh yeah, there's more where that come from. I wished I needed a female expert in a apron that is still wearing the birthday suit!
Tamaki : No wait!
*POOF!*
Tamaki : [in her pink Naked apron] Aw, Tartar sauce! This is the last and 412th drawn me wearing this while I'm in birthday suit! This is the reason that I'm sick of being baited for Fanservice! I knew I should've gotten a proper development. I hope to god the author will leave the industry one day.
Lan Fan : Hey, guys! What's up. Nice birthday suits were having...(suddenly goes into her birthday suit) Okay, this is not what I have in mind.
[Too Bad (Sunshine Ver.) - Koji Kondo]
[Iris shot+Iris out]
[Iris shot]
Tamaki : So, ummm, when are going to get our clothes back. I kinda feel like I need to kick the author's ass for making me doing this.
All : Shut it, Tamaki!
[Iris out]

Comfort Character Challenge
Got tagged by: @emerald-amidst-gold @little-lightning-lavellan @rosella-writes @oxygenforthewicked  (super late on this, sorry xD)
Get ready to be amazed by my list of liars! Do I have a thing for liars? Yes! Do i know why? Beats me. :))
1. Solas from Dragon Age (the number one liar but so so close with number two):
Tumblr media
What can I see about this character that I haven’t already said? I feel like no matter how much I talk about him or how much I think about him, there will always be a mystery about him to uncover. I love his intelligence, his strong sense of duty, his witty remarks and EVERYTHING ABOUT HIM.
2. Trisitan from Patfinder: Kingmaker. (another BIG LIAR! He is the one who prepared me for getting my heart broken by Solas)
Tumblr media
His kindness made me like him so much. He had an infinite well of kindness and an infinite well of patience. When the other companions made fun of him for being in love with my character he just blushed but never told them off. He is an extremely emphatic character, who is curious and loves to help others (sounds familiar huh?). *sigh* But yes, his secrets and his past are intriguing and what he did makes his romance extremely angsty but it’s worth it.
3. Reigen Arataka from Mob Psycho 100.
Tumblr media
Ah yes, my “normal” love. Nothing special about him. No immense powers, no hidden past, no gods or eternal damnation to fuel him. And that’s exactly the reason why I like him. Reigen is a man in is twenties (I think he is 27 years old) who, at first glance, looks like a man who has it all. He is charismatic, smart and has his own business. Later on, we see that he has no idea what the fuck he is doing. He is bitter and lonely and being an adult is something he isn’t that good at. He left a job that sucked his soul, even if he was good at it. His parents nag him to get married and from the things we see, they are extremely disappointed with him. He makes his way through life by following the “fake it until you make it” rule. And it works, for a while.
He is a kind man, charming and funny. But also an idiot, a sour looser and a big liar. (this liar thing has a big impact on his life. He is a BIG liar) But he tries his best to be a role model for the kid he takes care of.
I love him so much because I’m like him. A 27 years old idiot adult who has no idea what the fuck to do with being an adult. Ok, i’ll stop now xD
Tagging: @crown-laurel  @1000generations  @dalishkadan @frostyfelassan @shysolavellan @smutnug @khajiithasnowares @kumaronoa @modernagesomniari @dalish-rogue @medlilove @curiousthimble with no pressure at all and please let me know if you don’t want to be tagged anymore.

Just A Crush-Shigeo Kageyama
Summary: Shigeo has a crush on Tsubomi. Reader has a crush on him. Will their relationship ever work out?
There will be a part 2 and 3 later on. Also Happy birthday Mob!❤🍰🌸
Tumblr media
As soon as school ended I ran out of my class in search of the familiar expressionless boy I've grown fond of since we were little. I spotted him up ahead since he's the only one who can rock a bowl cut and even from the distance I could spot his cheeks turning pink. Tsubomi. He's looking at her yet again, Shigeo has always had a crush on her but he's way too shy and awkward to even get close to her. To me that makes him even cuter. Of course he acts a bit differently around me since we've known each other since kids. I know he might never feel the same way I do. I know he'll never blush when he sees me or stutter whenever I'd get close. Being his best friend is all I need to have him close even if my heart gets broken. "Shigeo!" I sing his song and put on a smile when I approached him and hugged his shoulder "Oh, hello (Y/N) didn't expect to see you out so soon." He bluntly tells me and focused his dark dull eyes on mine. "I had to beat and push everyone out of my way! Like that time we were at the cafeteria and someone grabbed the last brownie." I grin remembering how Shigeo was slightly frightened when he said me fighting over the sweet dessert. "I do hope you didn't at least make a mess. Hold on." Shigeo said when his phone rang and I listened to him mutter a few okays an nodding his . Shigeo looked at me and I could read through his expression. "That was Reigen wasn't it?" I was correct. "He says he needs some exorcism and wants me to head over. Some client asked for him but his powers aren't working. That lying son of a bitch. I sigh irritated and pinch the bridge of my nose. "Seriously..can you at least ask the man for a raise? Or not buy you some takoyaki-" "But I like takoyaki.." I stare at him and he stared back without a word from either of us. He can be such a lost cause most of the times.."Mob, all I ask is for you to put your life first. Reigen is a nice guy but an idiot. He's an adult so he doesn't need a kid like us doing his dirty work." Mob blinked and tapped his chin. "I know what you mean but master is a nice man who knows what he's doing." "Are you sure about that? That man can be a real pain." Dimple suddenly appeared next to Mob and tiredly looked at us. Mob or Shigeo started to walk away which made my face go red song I was getting angry. "But we promised we'd do to that new diner together!" I remember him. "I'll be back on time. Dimple make sure (Y/N) gets home safely." He murmured making Dimple groan out loud and fly over to my side. Together we watched Shigeo leave to Reigen's office. I felt empty and sad inside, Dimple must be noticed my sudden change and tried comforting me with a pat. "I know how ya feel kid, but don't you think you should give up? I mean the only thing on Shigeo's mind is working with Reigen and that girl thats not you." "You're not helping." I grit my teeth glaring at the green spirit floating next to me. He raises his hands up and sighs out, "Kid, you know what I'm tryin' to say. Shigeo listens to no one but his master so you should look after yourself some more than looking out for others." I have to say Dimple is surprisingly right on that. I love Shigeo but he'll never look at me that way and I should look for after myself. Annoyed and tried I move my dark hair out of my eyes and give him a small nod. "I guess you're right." "I am always right." Dimple says with a smirk. ******** Dimple left me off at my house and I skipped dinner when my parents called for me. I don't feel hungry. I sadly sighed and rested my head on the window while looking out at the dark starry sky. It feels so lonely. Shigeo and I used to hang out before all this happened with Reigen and the only sane one out of the group would be Dimple since Reigen is a man child and barely takes things seriously. From what I heard tomorrow they would be heading to a farm like place where an old man planted his seeds and soon all the vegetables rotted. He believes the place is cursed. Shigeo should at least take a break from using his powers and be a normal kid at least for a week. His brothers thinks the same way but he can't control Mob, no one can. Especially when he goes 100%. I got scared and concerned when I saw him use it for the first time, I kept shouting his name when his eyes glowed white and his hair stuck up and our surroundings got intense. A block of the ceiling almost fell on me if it weren't for that blonde hair weirdo kid who saved me. Shigeo didn't talk to me for weeks blaming himself on what happened and I could see the hurt in his eyes. I could've died that day. I'll admit I was scared of him but a bit but he needs someone to look out for him, someone his age and someone who isn't Reigen. Shigeo's personality didn't change right after that incident happened and as usual I'd caught him staring at his crush. I don't know much about Tsubomi but she is prettier than me and nice. I just want him to look at me the same way he looks at her. I sniffed and wiped my tears as I continue watching the night sky. ********** "Morning, (Y/N). Sorry I couldn't go to the diner, what did you think of it?" Mob bluntly asked when he reached my desk. "What did I think of it?" I ask him confused. I see his cheeks turn a light shade of pink. "O-Oh I thought you went there by yourself. I was going to call you but my battery died and Tsubomi asked me out." My eyes widen and my mouth began to tremble. I furrowed my eyebrows and faked a smile, "Oh? Congrats! What did you t-two talk about?" I pretend that I'm interested. Mob finally went out with Tsubomi. My heart feels like it broke into pieces. "Not m-much but she was nice enough that we shared a milkshake together." They are even sharing drinks?! I slowly got up from my seat and stared down at the ground not wanting to meet his face. "I've gotta go...I'll see you later." I grabbed my things and quickly excused myself and ran to the library. No one was luckily here so I sadly and tired tell to the ground and hugged my knees together. "I'm sorry, kid. But life is cruel, we all can't get what we want." Dimple muttered appearing next to me and patted my head. "I'm sorry kid." He repeated again, so I continued to cry and he tried to make me feel better. This is just a stupid little middle school crush after all.

hey can you maybe recommend some of your favourite fics please!!
aaaah, i'm a little behind on asks because of college but i saw this and i couldn't help but scramble to respond as soon as i found the time!!!! i'm super flattered that you're asking me for fic recommendations, but you didn't specify any fandoms or genres so i can't guarantee that any of these will be your cup of tea (feel free to shoot me another ask if you'd like to elaborate though!!!!). i'll try to be as diverse as an unapologetic angstlord can be, so here we go:
(note: while i did my best to add cws, it's still possible that something slipped past me, so please be mindful. as a rule of thumb, i'm not going to add warnings for stuff that's already depicted in canon material)
.
.
campfire in your chest (haikyuu!!, canonverse, tsukkiyama-main & kagehina-side)
Kei realizes in their second year of high school that he's probably been in love with Yamaguchi since they were ten. However hopeless he might be in handling that situation, Kei prays he's at least not as hopeless as Hinata and Kageyama. But he just might be.
four tags for you: pining, slow-burn, friends to lovers and unresolved sexual tension. this one's a classic, an old favourite of mine. i remember reading it on lunch breaks in high school while daydreaming about my crush and getting frustrated with tsukishima because "dammit, at least one of us needs to get it together and that won't be me anytime soon". also, once your done with reading this, please do yourself a favour and spare some time to check out the companion piece to this fic, "stay, stay, stay", which can be summed up simply as "meanwhile, kagehina".
.
.
a soft place to fall (jojo's bizarre adventure: vento aureo, canon divergence, narancia/trish); cw: major character death
“This is my wound, too,” Narancia softly says, eyes shadowed by so many dark lashes. He presses down over her pulse, and Trish’s heart jumps to meet it. “And this is my heartbeat. I can be brave because you’re brave.”
In the ten days between Corsica and Sardinia, Trish learns about her new power, reflects on the past, and finds her reasons.
this deserves so much attention!! i love the writing style, the character interactions— everything just feels special and different! it's been a hot minute since i watched part 5, but i have distinct and fond memories of reading this fic. it really did trish's character justice and, as a sweet bonus, it successfully got me hooked on this adorable pairing.
.
.
count the days until they blur, then keep on counting (mob psycho 100, canon divergence, gen); cw: torture, child abuse, imprisonment, starving
What Teruki wanted was power, right? What he wanted was to hurt people? Even if he didn't, he's got it now.
okay, this *may* seem bad, but it's hands down one of my all time favourite reads, not just as a fanfic. it has a happy end (worry not!), reigen being a reluctant disaster dad and teru— god, i love the way he thinks, feels, *copes* and changes as a person over the course of this fic. it shows all sides of him, the good, the bad and the ugly. he tries, he struggles, he relapses and recovers. some works just stick with you forever, and i'd be lying if i said that this one didn't change my life. like, i thought that it was the bee's knees the first time i read it and i was so mad that it had to end that i talked my friend's ear off about how unfair it was (though upon re-reading, when i was older and capable of understanding things a little better, i decided that the ending was perfect as it was). it's definitely not a work that i would recommend to someone sensitive, but i think i've established myself as someone who enjoys meaningful angst.
.
.
storm shelter (genshin impact, canon compliant, gen); cw: animal death
Three different times, over the years, Diluc and Kaeya are trapped together in the snow.
i'm a sucker for unconventional sibling dynamics and messy, conflicted feelings and this fic *provides*. it's clear that diluc and kaeya care for each other deeply, but they're both stubborn dumbasses about it (mihoyo, let these two talk again, i'm begging you). though the scenario in each snippet is somewhat similar, pov shifts to kept things fresh and prevented the story from becoming repetitive.
.
.
being a wingman is a full time job (genshin impact, canon compliant, chiluc)
“What are you doing in Mondstadt?”
“You didn’t show up this week!” Childe says. “Aether brought Hu Tao instead. She really handed it to me, but it just wasn’t the same.”
“You…” Diluc stops. “You came all the way to Mondstadt just because I didn’t show up?”
Oh?
-
Kaeya discovers Diluc has a crush and, despite not being on the best of terms with his estranged brother, takes it upon himself to be the ultimate wingman.
this isn't among my favourite pairings for either party, but rumour says that if you say "oh, chiluc is just a crackship" enough times, you'll start shipping it for real so here we are. boy, where do i start?? a lighthearted, humorous fic every once in a while is good for the soul, basically a requirement. obvious idiot/oblivious idiot is a trope that i don't think i'll ever get tired of, but making the entire story be told from wingman's pov adds some extra spice to it.
.
.
a cheap imitation (durarara, canonverse, shizaya); cw: graphic depictions of violence and gore
“Attached to your neck is a collar that will inject a poison into your jugular vein two days from now. Forcibly removing the device will also trigger the poison. Somewhere on this island is the antidote.”
His hands reached up to his neck and he felt the cool metal of the collar.
“Live or die. Make your choice.”
god. these two are so disgusting and problematic, i love them. this fic pulls no stops. the author really looked at these two dumbasses and said "yeah, the only way they'd ever get along realistically is in a life or death situatio— wait," and we gotta appreciate that. well-thought-out survival stories are a very specific niche that i've always enjoyed, so adding familiar characters into the mix can only get me more intrigued. author also snatches all my uwus for appealing to my inner neat-freak and consistently finding different ways to give the boys hygienic products. if you want drama, tension and survival with some humour sprinkled in for the ~flavour~, this is a perfect read!
.
.
i admit i got a little carried away, but honestly??? who wouldn't when talking about something as wonderful as taking something that someone has poured their heart and soul into adding onto it out of love and passion??? i'm totally setting myself up for psychoanalysis with these recs, but tastes are subjective. i hope you'll find something of interest!! ^^

The Irony of Life (MP100|One-Shot| Fan-Fic Commission)
A short SeriRei one-shot that was commissioned
In which Reigen reflects on his 15 year old mindset and realizes just how wrong he was.
———————————————
When Reigen was 15 years old he accepted the fact that he was never going to have kids even if he wanted to. With a single glance to his parents, he doubted he would be any better than them and no child deserved a fate like that.
Yet irony had a way of creeping into his life and taking away his choice, because by the time he was 30 he somehow amassed an army of children who all looked up to him and visited him often, none of which were related to him in any way.
It had all started with one kid and just ended up snowballing into more and more children before he could even try to stop it. Half of the pictures he has on his clipboard in the office have turned into photos of him and the kids on outings; the time Teru and the Kageyama brothers joined them on their trip to the hot springs, his birthday party with all of them, Ritsu getting thanked by his first client, Rei doing a fortune telling, and so on and so forth.
He hates to say it, but it’s starting to look like a mother’s scrapbook and he is neither a mother nor in possession of an actual scrapbook (though he has considered investing in one at this rate). And although Mob doesn’t visit the office often anymore, too busy focusing more on his studies and the Body Improvement Club, he accidentally ended up sending more kids his way to replace him.
More specifically in the form of a bunch of rather loud girls that Tome dragged in hardly with his approval and his office had turned into their hangout spot (much to his dismay when he is trying to work).
Even now, at the end of the work day, they lay sprawled all over the couch and chairs talking and laughing away as if he hadn't already turned off most of the lights and locked the windows in a subtle way to tell them to get up already.
Most days Reigen was left alone like this– given that Serizawa typically heads off early for night school– however today was a lucky day and he didn’t have classes which is a godsend since Serizawa is much better with kids than Reigen.
“Come on, girls. Pack up, we are closing soon.” Serizawa’s voice snapped the girls out of their conversation much faster than his ever would, it was a perfect mix of a stern yet gentle demand that sounded much more like a suggestion making it much more appealing to listen to.
With a ‘tsk’ Reigen looked over to chime in:
“We are closed,” he sneered before snapping the blinds to the windows shut.
Imminent whines traveled from the girls.
“Come on, just a couple more minutes!” one of them pleaded dramatically. It was almost enough to make Reigen roll his eyes.
“Do you want to be locked in the office?”
“Cool! Like a sleepover!”
“No, no sleepovers in my office.”
Tome leaps up, a tale tell sign she has an idea
“What if you give me the keys?! I can lock up after we all decide to leave or we stay the night!”
“Absolutely not.” He doesn’t even need to think about that one
“What!? Why?! I'm super reliable?”
A smirk crept on Reigen’s face.
“Ah yes, like that time you got lost in the cursed woods, or the time Dimple had to possessed you and punch your teacher, or that time you assaulted one of our clients, or when you-”
“Fine, fine I get it!” the girls were giggling and Tome’s face had turned a bright shade of pink as she slumped in defeat.
Before he could say much else Serizawa stepped in once again,
“How about this: Tomorrow we have a case down at Cape Cop Avenue, if we head off now you can tag along for it.”
The girls cheered, accidently having adopted Tome’s curiosity for ghosts and other such creatures. With their minds satisfied somewhat with the idea of a new activity they began to gather their bags and the homework they hadn't even touched the entire time at the office.
Usually Reigen would scold Serizawa for promising something like that, but the location was an apartment complex that Serizawa had scouted yesterday and as expected there weren’t actually any ghosts there. The scariest thing at the apartment complex was their plumbing system.
Regardless, Serizawa would be sure to give them a show (thank god none of them were espers).
It wasn’t long until they all began piling out. Somehow it has become a habit for Reigen to walk the girls home and tonight was no exception, the only difference being that Serizawa decided to join them.
The first destination was for Mika who lived only 3 blocks down from Reigen’s office, she gave an enthusiastic wave goodbye and promised to take a bunch of pictures tomorrow (even though Reigen tried explaining it would be hard to capture a ghost on camera).
Up next was their tall friend whose name Reigen hasn’t caught just yet. She seemed to stare a lot at them when they worked and doodle them but she was the politest of the bunch so Reigen didn’t mind her all that much.
Then Tome, who groaned loudly as Keiko reminded her of the homework due tomorrow before sulking back into her house with a small wave. Misa lives just two houses down from Tome and jogged ahead since she forgot about the homework too.
And then last but not least Keiko who without the company of her friends becomes rather bashful and shy only uttering small ‘thank you’s’ and ‘good night’s’ as she scurries into her house.
With the girls all safely in their houses Reigen without meaning to let out a soft sigh as he stretched, finally allowing himself to relax away from the kids. Usually he’d keep on his facade for Serizawa but lately that illusion has been melting away and luckily, it’s been mutual.
Serizawa has begun to relax too around him, being more confident and even being so bold as to tease him. They had also begun to work fluidly with each other, understanding what the other needed or wanted with simple quick glances and they practically danced around each other in their morning routines. Reigen even trusted him enough to give him copies of the keys to the office, it was nice to have someone to lean on when you needed it.
Neither of them said a word but they both began walking in the same direction. Serizawa lived just a bit further from Reigen in a different and better apartment complex than his so it made sense they were sticking together.
Nights like these were rare but appreciated, his whole life Reigen has always felt like he was supposed to be running just to catch up; but walking like this alongside someone you trust and care about is nice. It makes him feel like he can finally walk instead of run, like there is no rush.
And Serizawa is a good person and perfect company, initially Reigen assumed they didn’t have much in common but as time has moved on it turned out they do and they frequently found themselves talking each other's ear off. Mostly Reigen more than Serizawa but it’s a mutual exchange at least.
Though right now they seem to appreciate the silence, the girls were a nice change to have in the office but they also tend to drain the two of their energy with how loud and energetic they get, not to mention the trouble and danger they seem to like to get into. The thought alone is already giving Reigen a headache.
“Reigen?” With the sound of his name, he snaps out of it quickly, looking up to Serizawa only letting out a small ‘hm’ of acknowledgement.
Reigen catches the brief moment Serizawa was looking at him before staring forward instead.
“I know we’ve been busy lately but I was wondering if you would like to join me tomorrow for dinner at my place?”
Now that was extra new, Reigen has never been over to Serizawa’s apartment. Something about it felt a bit too personal, maybe it's because he hasn’t been over to a friend's place since he was in middle school nor has he had guests over willingly at his own apartment.
“What’s the occasion?”
The question makes Serizawa visibly tense, although the man has become more confident in himself, he finds moments like these where he still falters in his choices.
“Oh! Uh well I just um thought it would be nice to have some company over you know, I wanted to try out this new recipe and I thought it would be nice to have another taste tester and well I’m also trying to get used to having more people over at my place and I-”
Before he could go on another list of excuses Reigen interrupts,
“Sure, sounds nice. It’s been a while since I had a home cooked meal anyways.”
The response seemed to calm him down, his shoulders untensing and letting out a not so subtle sigh of relief.
As casual as Reigen is trying to act though he could feel his heart hammering in his chest in excitement. Every time he’s tried to have a moment alone with Serizawa one of them has always been either busy or with other plans so it would be great to finally have time.
But Reigen isn't an idiot, he knows exactly why he’s excited for this. He’s noticed how things between them have changed recently and perhaps it’s wishful thinking but he’s noticed from Serizawa too, when his gaze lingers, when he relaxes into soft touches, and the change of his mood from around his friends as opposed to him.
Along with this came a new tension, and not the kind where you want to murder each other or fuck, no it was something different. It was the kind of tension where both parties are trying to read each other and think they know what the other is thinking but they don’t want to make any unwarranted assumptions.
Reigen’s always been great at reading people, and usually he wouldn’t doubt himself but this is different in many ways. Serizawa is not only a friend but an employee, and he’s being reintroduced to the world away from all the hardships he faced and the trauma he’s brought along with him. If he is right about this, he needs to be careful.
Serizawa is perfectly capable of making his own choices but he needs to go at his own pace and to push anything onto Serizawa wouldn’t be fair.
There’s another thing Reigen had accepted when he was 15 years old, and it was that no one could ever love him for who he truly is. And that is a firm belief he’s kept, even now as Serizawa leans to be closer to him and he leans back.
But then again irony loves his company. So maybe 15-year-old Reigen could be wrong about that too.

“Do you see him, kid?” I asked, holding his ankles in my hands.
Riku was sitting on my shoulders so he could look over the crowd. He crossed his arms, resting them on the top of my head. “Nope. There’s Mt. Lady, but my brother isn’t anywhere around. Where is that idiot?”
I hummed, approaching the blonde-haired hero. “Let’s gather some clues.”
“Like Scooby-Doo!” I could hear the smile in his voice and chuckled.
She noticed us approaching and lifted her chin, hand on her hip. “Did you finally come to apologize?”
“Not even on your life,” I deadpanned. “Oi, Riku.”
“Right! Have you see a teenage boy that’s really desperate for your attention?”
If I wasn’t holding his ankles to keep him from falling, I would have facepalmed.
She sweatdropped. “There’s a lot of those, you’re gonna have to be more specific.”
“Umm, well, he’s eighteen-years-old, never had a girlfriend that isn’t an anime character, got rejected from two different colleges, he’s a huge pervert with a large stack of dirty magazines under his bed and his favorite color on a girl is pink! Does that help?”
My eye twitched. Really starting to remember why I don’t fuck with little kids… I cleared my throat. “Maybe start with his name…”
“Yuki Reigen.”
“Okay. Now, what does he look like?”
He hummed thoughtfully. “He’s kinda short for his age and he dyes his hair blonde, but he’s really bad at it so it’s super streaky. He wears blue contacts but his eyes are actually brown like mine! His skin is kinda oily, especially his nose, even though he uses this weird smelling cream. He thinks it works but it doesn’t at all!”
Mt. Lady tilted her head, her finger on her chin. Her face suddenly lit up with recognition. “Oh yeah! He was so desperate for my number, he said he’d do anything for it, it was honestly pathetic. I was just about to tell him he could have it after being my slave for two years, but then he suddenly panicked and ran off.”
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” I asked.
“Yeah, you’re a creepy old hag!” Riku added. “My brother will never be a slave to someone as ugly as you!”
“What did you just call me, you brat?!”
“Mt. Lady!” Woodsman came speed-walking up, putting his wooden arm between us before she could advance. “You’re supposed to be patrolling!”
Riku started to shake, his fingers curling around my short hair as he sniffled. “S-She’s so s-scary! She threatened to h-hit me!” His crying alerted the other people around us, who stopped to see what was going on. Hearing his words made a few of them glare at her, clutching their children closer.
The color drained from her face and she hastily tried to explain the situation. “W-What? No, I -”
Woodsman put his hands on his hips, glaring at her. “You made this child cry, now say you’re sorry!”
“But I didn’t -”
Riku started to cry louder.
“O-Okay! I’m sorry, just stop crying!”
His cries died down to soft sniffles. I swear if he gets snot in my fucking hair I’mma rage.
Woodsman turned to us with a sigh. “I’m really sorry about her, she has no filter. You really should be getting back, the finals will be starting soon.”
“I can’t.” I motioned toward the kid shoving his face onto my head. “He can’t find his brother and I’m trying to help find him.”
“Oh, I see. Here, let me take over.” He held his hands out and I bent down so he could gently grab Riku under the arms, lifting him up and over my head before bringing him into his arms. “Don’t worry, I promise I’ll find his brother.”
I nodded, ruffling Riku’s hair. “Don’t leave that idiot brother of yours again, okay? And no more jumping from the stands.”
He nodded, wiping at his wet eyes with the back of his hand. “Thank you, big sis.”
Woodsman nodded his head at me before walking away, Riku leaning over his shoulder. His sad expression morphed to a smug grin, all traces of his tears gone.
I exchanged a look with Mt. Lady and I knew we were thinking the same thing – children are fucking demons.
⊱ ────── {⋅. 🔥 .⋅} ────── ⊰
“Thank you, Cementoss! Hey, sports fans, are you ready?! After all the action you’ve already witnessed, it’s time for the real battle to begin! Can you feel the excitement?! Our competitors are on their own now! Sometimes heroes have only themselves to rely on! Heart, skill, strength, wisdom, courage – they’ll have to use all of these things to rise to the top!”
A bead of sweat rolled down my cheek as I took a deep breath. Why the fuck do I have to go first? Man, there’s gonna be so many fuckers watching me. Just the thought makes me want to die. Maybe I’ll just forfeit…
Strong hands landed on my shoulders. “You’re pretty tense, kid. Nervous?”
I turned around to face Snipe and Toshi. “I’m always tense, it’s a way of life.”
“Don’t worry, young Jen, you’ll do great.” Toshi gave me a thumbs up and a grin. “You fought against young Reggian a bit in the cavalry battle so you know a bit about his quirk already.”
“Somethin’ to do with air, I think?” I scratched my cheek.
“Just don’t kill ’em and you’ll be just fine,” Snipe put his arm around my shoulder, pulling me into a half hug. “We’ll be rootin’ for ya, kid.”
“Thanks, guys.” I grinned.
“Well, well, audience, let’s cut to the good stuff and not delay these finals any longer! Welcome our first fighters – with a potty mouth and an attitude to match, it’s Jen Winchester from the hero course!”
I stepped through the doorway, hands shoved into my pockets. My eyes squinted as the sudden bright light invading my vision. The crowd was screaming, but I did my best not to pay them any mind as I approached the arena.
“Versus! His sanity is seriously up for debate, it’s Regina Reggian from general studies!”
“Hey, I’m lucid sometimes, twatwaffle!”
“What did he just call me?!”
“A twatwaffle.”
“Don’t ever say that again, Eraser…”
I rolled my eyes before glancing across to the other doorway where Regina was exiting from, looking smug. Man, this guy really has a face I just wanna punch. With a fucking metal chair.
“The rules are simple – immobilize your opponent or force them out of the ring! You can also win by getting the other person to cry uncle! Bring on the injuries because we’ve got our very own Recovery Girl waiting on standby! So put your morals aside and don’t be afraid to play dirty, but of course, no life-threatening crap, folks, it’s not allowed! Real heroes use their powers to throw villains in jail, not kill them!”
“I’ll stop anyone that tries to get too rough,” Cementoss said calmly. He was sitting beside the ring, directly centered with it in a chair he had made with his quirk.
I scratched my cheek. Call me old-fashioned but should they really be encouraging teenagers to beat the ever-living shit out of each other? Sounds fucking suspect.
Regina grinned at me. “I’m gonna force you to give up, nerd!”
“Not even in your dreams, kid.” I grinned back. “Be careful, you don’t wanna get burnt.”
“Ready?!”
“You’re a magician’s red burnin’ chicken looking ass.”
“What the fuck does that even mean? Your taste sound like ass. I’m gonna fucking annihilate you like Kunimitsu Tezuka did to the dinosaurs.”
“Nani the fuck?”
“BEGIN!”
We both took our stances. He held his hands out like he were gripping a sword and the air around him started to solidify, forcing the hilt of a sword. The blade started to form… is that a fucking cactus? “Hey! This is my cactus and his name is Pablo!”
I sweatdropped. What is with this guy? “Oi -” I suddenly gagged as something solidified in my mouth. It tasted like if you took Kirishima’s dirty gym socks, wiped your ass with it, and then pureed it with rotten onions. My stomach turned as I spit it out, coughing violently as I tried to ignore the taste on my tongue. Is that… a mother fucking sock?!
“Winchester just spit up a sock! What is this sorcery we’re seeing, folks?!”
“Take this!” Taking advantage of the distracted he had created, he moved in close, swinging the sword above his head. My hand shot up, connecting with the translucent spikes of the cactus. They broke the skin, small drops of blood flowing from the holes.
“Reggian has successfully launched the first attack! How will Winchester respond?!”
“Am I a fucking joke to you?”
“No, you’re a nerd.”
“Hmph, can’t argue with that one, but you’re gonna have to die now, thanks!” I squeezed my hand, increasing the temperature of my skin until the cactus exploded. My hand was throbbing.
“PABLO, NO!!!”
I punched him in the stomach, sending him stumbling backward, clutching his stomach and coughing.
“You’ll pay… for killing Pablo… you thot!” He held his hand up and the air started to solidify. “Improvised special move, Pablo Jr!!” He threw the small, potted cactus at me and I grunted, smacking it away. As soon as my hand touched it, it exploded.
“It’s hard to see but if you look closely you can see a bunch of translucent spikes now stuck in Winchester’s body from that last attack!”
“Son of a bitch,” I grunted. He lifted his hands again and I dashed forward. I won’t even give him the chance to – smack. I fell face-first on the ground, the cold cement seeping through my clothes.
Silence fell over the stadium before a roar of laughter erupted.
“Oh my god!”
“Did you see her face?!”
“I’m so glad I came, this is hilarious!”
“What a classic move!!”
“I’m wheezing, someone help!”
“Ahahahaha! Class 1-A isn’t looking so cool now, is it?!”
“Shut up, Monoma!”
“No one can get past my second improvised special move – Banana Peel Field!!” Regina laughed loudly.
“I can’t believe it! In all my years, this is the first time I’ve ever seen anyone slip on a banana peel during the sports festival! This is great!!”
I slowly lifted my head, my teeth clenched in annoyance. I fucking slipped on a mother fucking banana peel made of goddamn air. This fucking brat is toying with me and it’s pissing me off. I pulled myself to my feet, my blood boiling as flames engulfed my hands. I thrust them out to the side and lines of fire shot out in all directions, swirling around the arena.
I clenched my fists, grinning when he took a step back. “I’m not gonna give you the chance to give up, but don’t worry bro, I will give you the chance to die!” I slammed both fists against the ground, the concrete splitting as fire snaked through it directly toward him.
“Ah, shit -”
The flames shot up from the ground, hitting him in the gut and lifting him off his feet. I teleported behind him, pulling my leg back before slamming my shin against his back and into the cement. He coughed, doing a somersault to avoid my boot. He breathed heavily, lifting his hands again, but I didn’t give him the chance, teleporting behind him again. Pain shot through my skull and I knew I needed to end it soon.
The flames raged on my arm as I cocked my arm, bringing my fist against his face. He flew backward and I stomped my foot, sending a wave of flame to propel him farther. It smacked into him like a spout of water, forcing his body out of bounds and pinning it against the wall. His eyes rolled back in his head as he lost consciousness, the flames dying out. The air spikes in my body disappeared.
“Reggian is out of bounds!” Midnight raised her hand, the metal cuff clanking from the movement. “Winchester advances to the next round!”
“Woah, that chick is kinda scary, don’t you think?”
“She told him to die!”
“That’s not a very heroic thing to say…”
“Reggian did really well!”
“He’s hilarious! Imagine having him as a sidekick.”
“Right? There’d never be a dull moment!”
“His power is pretty unique, too. If you think about it, the uses for his quirk are pretty limitless.”
“Right? Fire’s a pretty basic quirk, no creativity there.”
My eyes narrowed at my hand, watching the blood drip to the cement.
“Go see Recovery Girl.” Midnight ordered.
“Yeah, whateva.”
“And with that explosive display, we have the first victor of the finals! Class 1-A’s Jen Winchester! Ah yeah~ that was a pretty amusing first fight, kids! Both of you fought bravely, let’s show them some love!!”
I won the fucking match, but I feel like a fucking loser. I shoved my hands into my pockets as I approached the dark hallway. I wanna go home.
“Hey, big sis!”
I glanced up at Riku’s voice. He was leaning over the railing again, waving his hand like crazy. A taller boy stood behind him, gripping the back of his shirt to keep him in place. That must be his older brother. Good, I’m glad the Woodsman was able to find him.
“You were so cool out there! Your power is uber strong!” he grinned brightly, closing his eyes. “I wanna be just like you when I grow up!”
My heart skipped a beat as warmth flooded me, my lips twitching up as I released a breath I hadn’t realized I had been holding. Thanks, kid… I needed that.
⊱ ────── {⋅. 🔥 .⋅} ────── ⊰
“Gimme some sugar~” Gran pressed her lips to my cheek and patted my bandaged hand. “There, all better, deary.”
“Thanks, Gran.”
“Why the glum face? You won, after all.”
I sighed, falling back onto the bed and staring up at the ceiling. “I don’t know. I mean, I know I won the fight, but he won over the crowd. They totally hated me.”
She hummed. “There will always be times when people prefer one quirk over another. Don’t let it get you down, deary. You’ll always be number one in my heart.”
I smiled, turning onto my side and propping my cheek up against my palm. “Can I ask you somethin’?”
“Of course you may.”
“What does it mean… to be a hero?”
She sent me a surprised look before humming, her hand on her chin. “Well, everyone views it quite differently. At its very core, a hero is someone that wants to help others, but everyone has their own reasons, their own desires, to become a hero.”
“But I don’t,” I frowned, picking at the white sheet beneath me. “I don’t have that drive. I’ve thought about it a bunch of times, but I can’t think of a reason to fight. Besides… if people find out who my mother is, won’t that make them hate me, anyway? Bakugo told me not to tell anyone. He was dead serious about it. She was an A-Class villain turned pro hero. No one trusted her…”
Gran set her small hand over mine, her voice warm. “That may be true, but you are not your mother, deary. You’re your own person and if they view you differently, well, that’s their loss. No matter what happens in the future, you will always have a place here at U.A.”
My fingers wrapped around her hand. “Do you think… I’ll find a reason to be a hero?”
“I do, but you must remember that you grew up in a world where heroes are nothing more than fiction. It makes sense that you have no desire to be a hero because you grew up believing that such a dream simply wasn’t possible. I believe that, with time, you’ll find your reason to keep fighting. You just have to have some patience. These things can’t be rushed.”
I chuckled. “Patience has never been my strong suit. When I was a kid, the loading screen for my new game was taking too long so I kicked the TV.”
She laughed, patting my hand. “Yes, well, you are still young, deary.”
I glanced at Regina, who was unconscious on the bed across the room. “He gonna be okay?”
“He’ll be just fine. I’ve healed his wounds, now he just needs to recover his stamina. No need to worry.”
“Che, as if I’d worry about that idiot.” I rolled over onto my back, folding my hands behind my head. “Can I rest here for a bit?”
“Of course, deary.”
“Thanks, Gran.”
She pressed a kiss to my cheek before returning to her work, leaving me to mull over her words.

To Anon for MP100 SS: Reigen swears he has a boyfriend but Ekubo doesn't believe him and Serizawa is Serizawa
The Teenager Who Cried BOYFRIEND
Read on Ao3
Reigen was slightly upset and ok, perhaps it was his fault he was in such a predicament but really, would he exaggerate (because he never lied...just told it how he saw it) about something as serious as a boyfriend? No. Except nobody believed him
He shivered, bringing his shoulders closer to his body and burying his nose into his soft pink scarf (a gift from his BOYFRIEND). Apparently, the color had reminded him of Reigen and Reigen being the sentimental boyfriend that he was, wore it religiously once the weather got colder. Yes he got some talk from it ('What is that THING' was Ekubo's horrified response when he'd first worn it) but, Reigen colored a little from the cold and from remembering his boyfriend's pleased look when he sent him a picture that day, he didn't care
It really does suit you
Idiot! It's just a scarf, are you still coming?
Yes
Now that he was on school break he could start holiday shopping. Yes he'd left it last minute but he already had some ideas in mind and not many people to gift. Only Serizawa, Ekubo (He grunted. He should get him some socks...in the wrong size!), and -
"Reigen!" but it was too late. He nearly collapsed under the height and weight of Ekubo
"Hey, lover boy, where are you headed off to so sneakily?" The guy always (and he repeats always) sniffed him out. But only when Reigen needed him to be miles away. If he were ever to need the taller man to bail him out then it's like nobody even knew who he was. Like my "imaginary" boyfriend
His voice was muffled under his scarf, "Christmas shopping, I'm meeting Mob this weekend."
Suddenly there was a shadow over him and he was grateful to see the giant umbrella his friend seemed to carry around religiously
"Oh, are you spending Christmas with him?" was Serizawa's kind reply. He seemed to be the only one who "believed" Reigen but it seemed more so that he was trying to keep peace
"Yes, and you guys don't need to come with me," he made sure he was looking at Ekubo when he said this because honestly, he didn't mind Serizawa's company and his umbrella, but Ekubo could be troublesome in many ways, "Don't you have someone else to bother? Girls and boys to make cry this holiday?"
It was a well-known fact that Ekubo was a raging bisexual and by raging he meant that he'd never turn down an adoring fan from his fanclub, which he was the president of (he seemed to love that people loved him). Some people tried to get into his pants a couple times and yes Ekubo had a few flings here and there but he seemed more amused with just messing with people and waving at his adoring crowd than actual relationships. Aside from Serizawa and himself it seemed.
"Come now Rei-chan, friends need to help each other out. Plus, knowing you, you'd probably give this Mob fellow something plain and boring. I'm here to spice up the holidays," and that was what Reigen didn't want. But he didn't try sending his friends off again. Not after Serizawa nodded in assent and not after Ekubo laughed aloud and added, "Besides, I need to know how far you're going to take this whole boyfriend business."
Reigen sighed at that
Serizawa stage whispered Ekubo's name right before hitting him with the umbrella
---
The first time Reigen met Mob was at a Spirits and Such Seminar about a  year ago. Reigen had attended as a self-proclaimed psychic, as whenever anyone in school needed a little extra hand, his services were requested. Unfortunately (or fortunately), none of his assignments ever involved actual spirits. It was usually something about lost animals, stressed-out students, and creepy photographs. Which he usually solved in a manner of a few minutes, sometimes a few hours. Rarely more than that. It was a good way to earn money and it combined many of his unique skills
He'd found out about the seminar while browsing online and was particularly impressed with the whole proclamation about a "real esper" attending. He'd never heard of people with actual powers before. Everyone he'd met along the way had been phonies and, well, he was intrigued
The seminar was being run by someone named Tome Kurata, who was well known in the community for being obsessed with aliens and telepathy. She'd also run a couple other seminars (that had all flopped) but this one had been legit. When he arrived they'd been given some candy, which he'd then re-handed out, and once it started, boy had he been impressed
Impressed by the handsome guest speaker in more ways than one
Not only was he an ACTUAL esper, but he was a powerful one. To settle everyone's minds he'd done a few tricks like made some objects in the room float and then made bubbles with water, creating an almost otherworldly atmosphere. They'd then gotten down to business, talking about the dos and don'ts of spirits, and how to avoid catching the attention of one. Many things he already knew but also some new tidbits he hadn't known. Like the part where Mob had pointed at the woman next to him and said she had a playful spirit atop her head, feeding into her dreams. She'd then confessed that yes, she had been having some strange dreams and the spirit had been exorcised
It had been brief but their eyes had met and he'd seen interest in those black orbs. Possibly because he was the youngest in attendance.
It has to be that, because, unlike his friends, Reigen was average. He didn't work out so he had no muscles to brag about. He was also rather short, something he never thought about until he started high school and found himself dwarfed by quite a few people. Ekubo and Serizawa being two of these people. And he didn't have any distinguishing features.
Mob on the other hand. He was tall, like all the people Reigen seemed to be doomed to meet. And there wasn't anything eye-catching about his physical features aside from his height - he wore a black suit and there was a black jacket on his seat, black hair, black eyes, and pale skin - but there was something about the way he spoke, how kind and patient his voice sounded (like he truly cared about them) and how his eyes wouldn't stray from whoever he was talking to
Which is why Reigen decided he needed to talk with the man
It took a while since everyone wanted to talk to him but finally, he pulled through. Unfortunately, it was because Kurata was shooing everyone away
"Wait, Mob?" the man turned at his name being called but Kurata stood in front Reigen, her voice stern and a scowl on her face, "Mob is tired and the seminar is over kid. Everyone needs to leave now, he'll be consulting for a few days this week, you can come by then. There are flyers being handed out when you leave."
"Ah, but, we're colleagues!" he blurted out and then began to sweat. It wasn't technically a lie. They both worked with spirits afterall
She eyes him suspiciously, "You an esper?"
"Tome-chan?" Mob called out, walking over to her. If Reigen felt dwarfed, he wasn't sure how Kurata felt as she was nearly a head shorter than him. It was slightly amusing
"Mob! He's saying he's an esper!" her eyes seemed to almost sparkle in his direction and Reigen wondered if she liked the guy
Mob turned to him, his eyes almost boring into him and Reigen felt his face heat up. Could espers tell each other apart? He wasn't sure but there was something playful in Mob's gaze, amused, and yup, Reigen got his answer
Reigen cleared his throat, "I'm Reigen Arataka, I'm a senior from Salt Senior High School-"
"Hey! You said you were a colleague!" Kurata cut him off
"-and I also work with spirits." He looked pointedly at Kurata, "And that's why I called myself a colleague."
That made Kurata pout and she promptly walked away, continuing on her duties and leaving him to Mob. Seemed the rumors about that were true
Mob's mouth lifted into a smile, "It's nice to meet you Reigen, don't mind Tome-chan. Did you need help with something?"
"Well, not of the usual sort. You see, I've been helping around the school and town, anyone who says they're haunted or you know, have ghost problems. I was hoping to learn more and since you're clearly more experienced on the matter..." oh god, his eyes, that attention, "uhm, and well, Kurata mentioned you travel a lot, I plan to keep myself local, help out here in Seasoning City. You'd be surprised considering its size but there's a lot of people here who need help!"
Ok he was rambling now and his heart was beating too quickly and he felt sweat beading his brow and upper lip and if he didn't calm down he'd have clammy hands and breath, breathe!
He took a deep breath and nearly rushed through the rest, "Could we maybe keep in contact? Exchange numbers? I'd only text you when I absolutely need help of course!!"
Smooth. That was smooth, right? Ekubo would be proud
"You want Mob's number?" Kurata asked behind him and Reigen nearly jumped out of his skin, his face more bright now he was sure, "Aren't you a little too young? You do know that Mob is already 30, right?"
He turned towards her quickly, "It's for work purposes!"
But just like Ekubo, she gave him a disbelieving look. And no he didn't know Kurata like that (just read a couple things about her) but if it turned out she and Ekubo were related in some way, he wouldn't be surprised
He looked over to Mob, "B-but that's fine if you'd rather not. I know it's weird to have a stranger ask for your number and you probably get this a lot and don't listen to her I didn't mean-"
"That's fine," Mob's quiet voice made Reigen pause, "I don't mind. Here."
"He could also be a serial esper killer Mob," Kurata warned, "Remember what happened last time?"
Last time? Now Reigen was intrigued but Mob only hummed before passing him a business card with a number written on the back, "Don't worry about the time. I can't promise to reply immediately but I'll try to help out however I can."
And okay, maybe Reigen did want Mob's number for that. Or at least eventually, maybe. And maybe Reigen also melted a little when Mob smiled at him and when he placed his warm palm on his shoulder and maybe the rest of his day was a blur because of that
---
Reigen pauses as he feels Serizawa tug on his jacket and he sees Ekubo a couple shops down, waving at him, pointing towards, he looks over, Victoria Secret? Why would he...
"He thinks your boyfriend would like it," is Serizawa's answer and Reigen can't believe that smile on Serizawa's face. Is this betrayal?
Reigen ignores Ekubo's calling and continues walking around the mall. And maybe he's a little glad that they lose Ekubo for awhile but then he finds the two of them again
"Where did you go?" Serizawa asks quietly
"Oh just getting a friend a present, WAIT, Reigen why not get something from here? I hear the back has a few interesting things!"
They stop by at this strange little alcove with the name Spencers on top and shrugs. They go inside, Serizawa giving Ekubo a pointed look and Reigen raising a brow at them both. It seems they carry similar content to Hot Topic. He goes to the back and quickly leaves the store, a laughing Ekubo trailing after him and Serizawa the traitor!
---
Reigen isn't sure what to do. It's been a few hours since they arrived at the mall and he can't seem to pick out what to get Mob. Ekubo has tried to get him to buy some indecent things (I bet your 'boyfriend' would like this and For when you're not around, don't want him getting bored, right?) but it's obvious he means all of them to be for Reigen (as they're for his size). Reigen has gotten close to buying Mob a tie (then remembered he hardly used ties), a coat (then remembered Mob recently bought himself a coat), and a scarf (but he left the store, blushing when Serizawa mentioned a matching set would be cute). And yeah, Reigen kind of liked the idea of matching
They'd passed a couple jewelry places (Why not get him a collar so everyone knows he's taken) but he'd never seen Mob wear anything flashy and some of the prices were way over budget.
But they did pass by a movie theatre and he did see a movie he wanted to watch so perhaps they could come back later that week. Serizawa thinks he wants them to go in and starts looking at the times as well, noting that everything has started already
It's only when they're heading back and he sees a sports shop that he remembers Mob likes to work out. Has told him stories about his middle school days and the Bodybuilding Club and he decides to check it out. It confuses his friends and he can't help but smirk a little. He doesn't work out so obviously this stuff isn't for him
He ends up buying a hairband and a work out sweater with a wide neck because he is a healthy teenaged boy and Mob has a beautiful neck
"Well, I think that's enough for today," Reigen says, a bit of a yawn in his voice, "I don't think I'll find anything else here."
"Were you planning on going elsewhere later?" Serizawa asks, a bag of his own in his hand, his umbrella in the other
"Maybe, though I still don't know what else to get. Do you think these are enough?"
"BORING," Ekubo calls out as he's trailing behind them, "He probably could have brought that stuff himself."
"You should also give him chocolates," Serizawa recommends, "Does he like them?"
Reigen nods, mentally adding that to his list. That's when his phone goes off and he checks his messages
"Is that him?" Ekubo asks. Reigen nods, quickly reading over the message and pocketing his phone, "Joining us?"
"No, just sent me the details of when he's coming by. His plane comes in on Christmas Eve. I told him I'd pick him up."
Serizawa coos and Ekubo raises a brow, "When's he coming in?"
"He's on an early flight, 7."
Ekubo chuckles, "Isn't that rare! You waking up early. WELL, Seri and I are going to bolt now, we have some planning to do."
He nearly pushes Serizawa away and the bigger man waves at Reigen. Planning?
---
It's early on Christmas Eve when Reigen leaves his home to head to the airport and pick up Mob (though really Mob doesn't need picking up, he's a grown man but Reigen didn't want to wait to see him later today). He's still yawning when he leaves and maybe he dozes a bit when he catches a taxi. He's decided to dress casual because they're probably going to head back home and just sleep until later today. Mob did mention he hadn't gotten enough sleep and he was sure to be jet-lagged for awhile. Today wasn't as cold so he wore a cozy hoodie, his scarf, and some jogging pants he had lying around.
He makes it to the pick-up terminal about half an hour early and he finds a place to sit. As it nears time for Mob to come in Reigen begins to nod off, semi-aware of his surroundings and semi-thinking about later tonight. He'd tidied up the house and made some chocolate cookies (thank you internet) and bagged up Mob's gift. He'd also taken out the fluffy blanket Mob liked and made space in his closet. All that was left was for Mob to come home
And really, he could have sworn he'd only closed his eyes for a second, maybe five minutes, but next thing he knows he's being woken up by Mob. That instantly wakes him up and he bolts upright, "Mob! A-uhm, sorry! I said I'd be picking you up and here I am falling asleep and-and...Welcome Home."
Mob is smiling down at him, amusement in his eyes and leans down until they're only centimeters apart, "I'm home."
---
OMAKE p1
"I can't believe he fell asleep. Probably wouldn't even notice if I mobbed him," Ekubo said, a hand to his forehead, "But he's wearing that so he probably didn't bring anything on him."
"We should go wake him up, Mob should be here any time now and it's not safe to be sleeping out here," Serizawa fussed, his trusty umbrella on hand.
"We can't go up to him!" Ekubo nearly cried out when Serizawa started to walk over, "What part of secret mission didn't you get?! He's not supposed to know we're here!"
"I could walk by him and make a noise or something, he won't know," Ekubo looked at him pointedly
"With that umbrela there? Yeah, he won't recognize you."
"Good, I'll be-"
"I was being sarcastic!" Ekubo groaned. That's when they both noticed someone walk up to Reigen
"I told you it wasn't safe!" "Is that him?!"
It was a taller man dressed in a black hoodie, a turtleneck peaking out the top, black jeans, and black beanie, a carry on bag with wheels trailing a few inches behind him. They couldn't really see his face from where they were hiding but they could tell Reigen hadn't noticed yet. Not until the man nudged his shoulder. Suddenly Reigen stood (probably apologizing) and -
Ekubo whistled, "Guess he does have a boyfriend and a hot one."
Serizawa raised a brow but also looked on in wonderment as the couple kissed
"Good thing I got that gift in the right size."
---
OMAKE p2
Mob curled up closer to Reigen and smiled at how sensitive the younger man was. Since Mob traveled all over the place he had gotten used to colder weather so something like today was nothing. And even with the heater on, a breeze still entered the house (he'd need to find out where, didn't need Reigen to get a chill).
"You know," he placed a kiss to Reigen's ear, "you have great friends."
"What?" Reigen answered, confused, "You haven't even met them."
Mob only smiled, placing a kiss to Reigen's neck and sighing happily.
---
OMAKE p3
"Soooo," Ekubo pried once they got back to school, "How was it?"
Reigen lifted a brow, "How was what?"
"Don't play sly! Did you guys use my Christmas gift? He liked it didn't he? He seems the type."
Reigen colored at the little Christmas bag he'd hid in his closet and glowered at his friend, embarrassed, "NO!"
That wiped the smirk off Ekubo's face, "Prude."
The bell rang and the rest of his class started to trickle in, the ones inside settled down. He noticed Serizawa was running late and he began to worry. That guy was never late. He felt a kick to his chair and turned back to see Ekubo grinning at him, waving him to come closer. He clearly had that playful look to him and Reigen felt weary but came closer anyways
"Since you didn't use the gift I so generously sent, why not try out kabeshiri?" Ekubo whispered low enough where only Reigen would hear but loud enough that his voice would carry past the noise of everyone. A sort of stage whisper
"Kabeshiri? What's that?" Reigen mimicked him, a bad feeling stirring in his belly
Ekubo whispered the rest (quietly THANK GOD) and Reigen colored, his earlier worry of Serizawa gone
"I bet he'd be into it and don't forget to use the gift."
The teacher called attention and wow, Reigen had to cool down. Now. But the image of Mob's attention on him, pounding into him while wearing that in such a vulgar and primitive way...would Mob like it? They'd never talked about doing anything different but if Mob wanted to - No wait! Yes, it turned him on but also he liked to see Mob, liked to kiss him, liked to hold him. No, there were too many cons
He was distracted the whole day and Ekubo kept sending him knowing looks

They are all idiots
Tsuchiya had not even been there five minutes when Serizawa sat down next to her and greeted her with an almost imperceptible nod of his head. With almost telegraphed movements, he pulled his notebook and pencil case out of the black backpack that always accompanied him everywhere and placed them perfectly aligned on the wood.
His gaze seemed lost in space as he absentmindedly bit his thumbnail.
"Did you two have a fight already or what?" Tsuchiya nudged him trying to snap him out of his daze.
Not so long ago, Tsuchiya wouldn't even have noticed that there was something wrong with Serizawa. It wasn't like he was the easiest guy to understand and more than once his way of staring at people had gotten on her nerves.
"No" Serizawa replied, barely a mumble. "Yesterday... we did things and... Sometimes with Reigen it's hard to think."
"I can't believe it! How far did you guys got?" Tsuchiya rushed over leaning against the wood and stared at him. "So it's official now?"
It was always fun to get Serizawa to blush. He sometimes came off as very childish for certain matters. It was hard to deny that meeting Reigen made her somewhat curious. The way Serizawa spoke of him, he had to be quite a character.
"Tsuchiya, how was your first time?"
The question caught her off guard. Serizawa had never seemed too interested in joining in on conversations whenever someone brought up the subject. Sometimes he even seemed uncomfortable. Not that it really mattered anyway when Tsuchiya had no interest in the details.
"We still have time to skip class." Tsuchiya looked at the time on her cell phone. There were five minutes left until class started. Without giving him a chance to argue, Tsuchiya got up gathering her things and putting them in her bag.
"'Skip'? B-but we have class" Serizawa gave her a shocked look.
"Nothing's going to happen for one day." Tsuchiya grunted, grabbing Serizawa's things as well. "Come on, let's go."
She almost needed to pull him to get him out of class at the same moment the teacher walked through the door. Serizawa shrank back, trying to be inconspicuous. As if with his nearly six feet tall he was going to pull it off.
----
After two years of living on campus almost permanently, Tsuchiya had ceased to be surprised to find the cafeteria in Main Square packed to the brim with people on a Monday just after nine-thirty.
"Macha or coffee? Which would you rather have?" Tsuchiya dropped her backpack with her laptop on one of the chairs at a corner table and rummaged through her purse.
Serizawa opened his mouth to protest but Tsuchiya was quicker.
"You'll invite another day." She pointed a finger at him before ditching him to stand in line.
A matcha for Serizawa and a black coffee for her. Standing, waiting her turn, Tsuchiya watched Serizawa out of the corner of her eye. Her stomach cringed seeing him so taciturn again. For a moment, it was like he was back to being the guy who always sat in the front row, not talking to anyone, taking notes as if he were a robot.
"Who told him to hook up with a high school kid." Tsuchiya muttered when it was finally her turn.
-----
"Okay, now tell me why that question." Tsuchiya didn't bother to beat around the bush unnecessarily.
After months of Serizawa being the only classmate she still trusted to pass group work without having to do it all by herself, she had learned that with him that was a waste of time. Serizawa was nervous, she only had to watch the way he fiddled with his fingers. Tsuchiya let him organize his thoughts before forcing him to speak.
"N-not that we did much. Make out and some jerking off b-but yesterday" Serizawa nibbled on the cuticles of his thumb, already somewhat sore. "I don't know, something's not right. And I don't know if it's me or not. In high school I always felt like a freak and it's just with Reigen but"
"You're not forcing yourself to keep up with him, are you? You're thinking stupid shit, right? Just because you're older than him doesn't mean you have to force yourself to do something you don't want to. And if he's hornier than a bitch in heat, he's got his right hand for that."
"I don't have to force myself to do anything. I don't." Serizawa blushed, Oh, who knew what naughty thing he was imagining already. "But yesterday, I don't know. Everything seemed normal but I've been thinking about it all night and when he's nervous he can't shut up. He just talks and talks and talks but yesterday he didn't and I don't know."
"What's bothering you?" Tsuchiya jabbed her finger into his forehead as the silence stretched on for a second too long. "If he's decided to go out with you, there must be a reason."
"I'm not sure we're dating. I guess so but I don't" Serizawa frowned. "I'm an idiot, aren't I?"
"Really? But do you guys do anything else besides eat each other's faces off?" Tsuchiya shook her head in exasperation. With so many morons in the world, it was amazing that the human race managed to survive. "If you're not sure, just ask. He's supposed to be your best friend. Keeping things in limbo is only going to end up getting you into trouble. I know it seems like I'm asking for the impossible, but if you ever get your blood pumping to your brain, you know. Talk to him."
Tsuchiya sighed in despair. She still didn't quite understand why she considered that big dumb bear her friend. Men... All fucking idiots. There wasn't a day that went by that she wasn't just a little bit happier to be a lesbian.

---------
The first thing Claude thought was: “Did anyone get the number on the bus that just hit me?”
“Sir!? Sir!? Are you alright!?”
The second thing Claude thought was: “...Oh...”
He stared up at the bespectacled blue haired woman looking over him with concern on her face.
“Sir! Do you need me to call someone? Do you know where you are? What...”
Claude groaned as he finally sat up and gave the woman a carefree smile.
“I’m fine, I’m fine. No need to call somebody and if it’ll make you feel better, we’re at the Garreg Mach Public Library.”
She sighed in relief and smiled back.
“Good.”
The blue haired woman offered her hand to Claude and helped him up. She then turned to a group of young kids. Guess she must have been a teacher or something.
“Kana?”
One kid in particular, a young boy with messy silver hair stepped forward and stood next to his teacher.
“Now Kana, what do we say when we bump into someone?”
The boy looked up at Claude with big fat tears in his eyes.
“I’M SORRY MISTER! I DIDN’T MEAN TO! I GOT EXCITED AND...”
“Hey, hey no need to shout little guy, we’re at the library. And don’t worry, I forgive you. Just make sure you listen to your Teach okay?”
The boy let out a sniffle and an “Okay.”
He went back to his little group and took the hand of a red-haired girl a couple years older than him.
The teacher looked back at Claude, “Once again, I am so sorry for my student...”
“Come on, you don’t gotta apologize too. Believe me, if you want to hear some horror stories about hyper kids, just ask my mom about my childhood.”
She gave a small chuckle and Claude felt a slight heat in his cheeks.
“Nonetheless, they are my responsibility. So I shoulder some of the blame.”
“Don’t worry, I’m fine. You should get back to your job instead of worrying about me.”
She nodded and turned back to her group, “Alright everyone, now where we?”
Claude watched with a smile as the kids and their teacher walked off to the library’s kids section.
He quickly returned to what he was doing before and yet as the day went on, he kept thinking about the blue haired woman.
She seemed nice, hells nicer than some of the teachers he grew up with. Those kids are lucky to have her.
Not to mention, if Claude had to be honest, she was kind of cute and that laugh…
Claude shook his head, what was he doing? It’s not like he was going to see her again.
...Though he wouldn’t mind that… maybe get to hear her laugh again…
“...I picked a bad time to realize I have a thing for girls in glasses didn’t I?”
===
Telling Dimitri and Edelgard about what happened was probably the dumbest thing Claude could have done.
Dimitri’s reaction wasn’t too bad, supportive and was even willing to help out if needed, but Edelgard… Claude can’t remember the last time his friend laughed this hard.
“...You done?”
Edelgard’s laughter started to slow down and she finally took a few breaths.
“M-my apologies, Claude it’s just…hahaha... it’s just funny to think that you, Claude “I don’t believe in hokey stuff like Moon Signs and Soulmates” Von Reigen of all people would fall in love at first sight.”
“Hey I did NOT “fall in love at first sight.” I’m just curious about her and want to see her again. Get to know her better you know?”
“That… sounds an awful lot like love at first sight.” Remarked Dimitri the Traitor
Claude glared at them both as he took a swig of his drink.
The blonde smiled and continued, “To be honest, it all does sound rather romantic.”
“Except for the part where you were knocked over by a toddler.” Added Edelgard
“I did not get knocked over by a toddler… I think the kid was in kindergarten.”
At that, Dimitri let out a laugh that he tried very hard to hide. Claude said nothing as he went back to his drink.
“All joking aside, what was her name? Perhaps you could look her up online...” asked Edelgard
At that, Claude nearly choked.
Shit! He never got her name!
Claude smacked his head against the bar and even though he couldn’t see them, he could feel the disappointed expressions on Dimitri and Edelgard’s faces.
...Well okay maybe disappointed isn’t the right word but they are judging him.
===
At some point last night, his friends did actually give Claude some good advice.
Most of the local schools had photos of their staff on their websites and without knowing her name, this seemed like the best and “least likely to get the cops called on him” way to find her.
So he grabbed his phone and a notepad and sat down at his favorite coffee shop. This shouldn’t take too long right?
...Too bad no one told him that there was a whole lot of elementary schools in Garreg Mach. Claude knew this place was a big city. He’s lived here for a good few years now and he swears he keeps finding new old places.
But did this city really need this many elementary schools!?
“Not really how I pictured spending my afternoon” Claude muttered as he scratched out Saint Cethlean Elementary & Middle School off his list. At this rate, Mystery Teach will have retired by the time Claude found out where she worked.
After scratching out six or maybe seven more schools from the list, Claude took a glance around the coffee shop; the place was starting to get a little too crowded for his liking. Maybe he should head out and take a break. Maybe do some people watching near the old Monastery.
However just as he stood up, he spotted a familiar someone at the counter.
“Here you go Ma’am, have a nice day!” “Thank you, you too.”
No way… there was no way…
Except there was no mistaking that blue hair or her voice.
...Claude wasn’t exactly a religious man but he couldn’t help but mentally thank whatever god or goddess seemed to be listening to him.
He waited until she stepped out of line before taking a deep breath, putting on his most charming smile, and approaching her; being very careful not to startle her.
However before he could reach her, the crowd in the shop seemed to shift and Claude found himself stuck.
“Hey! ‘Scuse me! Tryna get through!”
Claude tried his best to get through the crowd but some people were just way too stubborn and pushy for their own. Before long, Claude found himself falling forward out of the crowd.
‘Okay I’m taking back the thanks to any god or goddess listening, cause they’re obviously jerks and are laughing at me.’
Claude stood back and tried to look for around for the woman. Soon he spotted her through the window, walking away and chatting with a short haired blonde woman. The blonde seemed familiar somehow to Claude but he couldn’t put his finger on it.
As for who she probably was, she was likely Teach’s co-worker or just a friend… or even a girlfriend.
It was that thought that made Claude realize: What the hells was he doing?
Is he really so desperate that a smile and some basic human decency is enough to make him act like an idiot tripping over himself?
He didn’t even know her name, for gods’ sake!
Claude sighed as he picked up the things he dropped and headed out of the coffee shop.
====
Claude had hoped to spend a nice quiet evening hanging out and drinking with Dimitri and Edelgard.
Unfortunately this was not to be because when he arrived at their usual spot, Edelgard looked like she was ready to strangle someone and Dimitri was in a friendly(?) headlock by a loud drunk with bright red hair. It took Claude a minute to recognize the guy as Sylvain, one of Dimitri’s friends.
He took a seat next to Edelgard and shot her a sympathetic look. “Long night?”
“It’s only been an hour.”
“So what brought Sylvain here?”
“Apparently he’s getting married to Mercedes.”
If Claude had a drink, this would be the point where he’d spit it all over the counter.
“Wait. Sylvain is getting married. OUR Sylvain?”
“Do we know any others?”
“...So...”
“Dimitri called Mercedes to come pick Sylvain up. She was just getting off work when he called so hopefully she’ll be here soon.”
Claude looked at the thrilled drunk redhead and could hear him gushing about his fiancee and how she’s one of the few people who could see the “real him.”
Meanwhile poor Dimitri is just nodding along and adding the ocasional “I know” and “I’m very happy for you.”
“Never thought Sylvain of all people would get married.”
“Well I suppose this week has been one for miracles. Speaking of: how is your search for your true love going?”
Claude decided to ignore the “true love” comment and explained to Edelgard that he gave up.
“Give up? That doesn’t sound like you.”
“Yeah well, I didn’t realize how many schools I had to look up and I kind of had an epiphany that I was acting like a creepy idiot.”
“I see.”
After a few more minutes of trying to talk to his friends over Sylvain’s ramblings, Claude heard the sound of the bar door opening. He looked over and his eyes widened.
“Mercedes? I almost didn’t recognize you.” remarked Edelgard
The blonde giggled as she showed off her short hair.
“Do you like it? It was starting to become a bit of a hassle to take care of it and I thought it was time for a change.”
THAT’S WHY SHE SEEMED FAMILIAR, Claude just didn’t recognize her with the new haircut.
Upon hearing Mercede’s voice, Sylvain released his death grip on Dimitri and stumbled over to her.
“BABY!” he shouted as he fell into her arms
“Hello to you too dear.” Mercedes said with a smile
She then turned to the three, “I hope Sylvain didn’t give you three too much trouble.”
“N-not at all. He merely wanted to let us know about the engagement and celebrate. Congratulations by the way.” said Dimitri
“Let us know when you figure out a wedding date alright?” said Edelgard
Mercedes nodded.
“We will, thank you. I’ll be taking him home now. Good night everyone.”
As Mercedes started to walk towards the exit with Sylvain’s arm draped around her shoulders, Claude stood up.
“Hey wait Mercie!”
“Hm? Oh, Claude. What is it?”
“This… might be a weird question but… do you… happen to have a co-worker who’s a… woman with blue hair and glasses?”
===
“Okay so let me get the story straight. You were at the library, one of the kids that Mercie watches over knocked you flat on your ass and you fell in love with her co-worker when she checked on you?”
Claude glared at Sylvain, “Aside from the “falling in love part,” yeah you got it down.”
So it turned out that Mercedes was co-workers with Mystery Teach in an After-School Program. After Claude explained his situation, Mercedes offered to let Sylvain drive him to the school that she worked at to meet her co-worker, Byleth.
Gods did it feel good to FINALLY have a name to work with.
“You know… since I’m picking up Mercedes, if both girls are up for it, we can do a double date right away.”
“Just shut up and drive.”
The two stayed quiet for the rest of the ride (though not for lack of trying on Sylvain’s part) until they finally arrived at the school.
Claude could hear the kids further down the hall, guess Mercedes and Byleth weren’t off the clock just yet. Thus he and Sylvain sat down on a nearby bench.
He chuckled and Sylvain looked at him curiously.
“Oh just… sitting out here kinda makes me think of my own school days. Like I’m waiting for the Principal to come out and lecture me for releasing a stink bomb in the gym.”
“Whoa, really?” Sylvain asked with a laugh
“In my defense, it wasn’t supposed to go off at that moment; the casing was just badly made.”
The two made small talk as they watched parents come in and out with their kids.
Claude always liked people watching but he’d never seen such… interesting characters.
Like the guy who looked like he stepped out of a comic book, his wife who looked like she could bench press DIMITRI, and their kid who looked like the dad’s sidekick.
Then there’s the father+daughter duo wearing toy fox ears and making, he’s assuming, fox noises as they went down the hall.
A few more minutes passed by when a little voice shouted out, “Hey Mister!”
Claude turned to the voice and saw that same silver haired boy who ran into him.
“Oh well look who it is. You doing alright kid? Listening to your Teach, I hope?”
The boy, Kana, he thinks Byleth called him, nods and smiles.
“Uh-huh. Are you here to see Ms. Byleth?”
“Heh, aren’t you a smart kid. Yup, just here say hi to her.”
“...Are you marrying Ms. Byleth?”
Claude’s eyes widened as he let out a choked noise and Sylvain let out a laugh.
“Kana!”
Approaching them all was a friendly looking guy with silver hair, a woman with red hair that Claude could only describe as “fluffy,” and a slightly older red haired girl.
“Hi mama!”
The little boy rushed into his mom’s arms and was lifted up. The woman sighed and faced Claude and Sylvain.
“I’m sorry, I hope he wasn’t bothering you.”
“N-nah, it’s… it’s fine.” Claude said, trying to hide the red on his face
The redheaded woman nodded and started to walk away with her family while the boy waved good-bye to Claude.
“Bye-bye Mister!”
As soon as that family was out the doors, Sylvain shot Claude a shit-eating grin.
“Smart kid right?”
Claude said nothing as he glared at him.
A couple more families came and went and Claude was starting to nervously tap his foot on the floor. The longer the two waited, the more chances Claude had to overthink.
Did Byleth even remember what happened at the library? Would she just stare at him blankly if he tried to explain who he was? Would she think he was some stalker?
Thankfully before Claude could further give himself a panic attack, two women stepped out from one of the rooms.
Mercedes… and Byleth.
Sylvain of course practically jumped off the bench and ran over to greet his fianceé while Byleth stood to the side and watched the two in amusement.
Well… now or never. Claude stood up, took a deep breath, put on his most charming smile, and approached her; being very careful not to startle her.
“Hey Teach.”
Byleth turned to him. At first she looked confused but a spark of recognition quickly lit her eyes.
“Oh, it’s you, the man from the library. Are you doing alright? No bumps? No dizziness or anything?”
“I told you before, I’m fine. You don’t need to call a doc or anything. The name’s Claude by the way.” he replied with a laugh as he offered his hand
“I’m Byleth and sorry about that. The double checking’s become a force of habit. My roommate can tell you plenty of stories about me slipping into what she calls “Teacher Talk” to her.” She said as she took his hand and shook it
“Heh well maybe if you got the time, we can sit down for a drink or some coffee and you can tell me all about it?”
Byleth gave him that same smile that he couldn’t stop thinking about.
“I’d love to.”

Ageswap au where reigen gets in increasingly dangerous situations and mob reluctantly follows him around since god. this kid is his responsibility now. reigen doesnt actually work for mob, but he just kicks it at mobs office since he has no where else to go. even though reigen is a lonely kid, he still manages to bring the best outta mob. sometimes a family can be a shithead idiot baby, a recluse dad and a fart
*sobbing* This is great. I’m almost getting a Peter Parker and Tony Stark vibe, except Mob isn’t like Tony at all–not arrogant, not rich, not a tech genius–save for his exasperation of this daring but stupid, naive kid, and his own internalized guilt. Ritsu might fit the bill a bit better and–
Oh. Oh, that’s good. Mob and Ritsu together fit the Tony Stark vibe. Mob with the long-suffering and guilt, and Ritsu with the arrogance and smarts. And maybe Ritsu’s part of that “I don’t give a shit about you” side of Tony, until one day he gets an unexpected call from the little brat who sounds a lot less like a brat than he usually does, sounding more hoarse, more quiet, more scared.
I’ll just leave that there to mull over. Reigen, I think, would have a compulsion to lie, which would probably be why he pisses Ritsu off so much, but Mob sees past that and instead sees a kid who has a deep compassion for the people he meets, and has this deep desire to make his mark on the world but also please his mentor.
But I’d LOVE for Dimple to get in this mix. Dimple’s probably only connected to Mob, so he might not warm up to Reigen at first, but kids like Reigen have a knack of doing this Thing to adults, this Thing that tells them that they should protect this kid at all costs, guide him, make him into a man ready to take on the world. And I doubt Dimple will be immune to that forever.
