Down by the river he came upon Snufkin who was sitting on the bridge with his legs dangling over the water, his old hat pulled down over his ears.

Hello,’ said Moomintroll sitting down beside him. ‘Hello to you,’ said Snufkin, and went on playing. The sun was up now and shone straight into their eyes, making them blink. They sat swinging their legs over the running water, feeling happy and carefree.”

He staggered sleepily downstairs and stopped in amazement in front of the sofa which stood across the door. Can we talk about the terrifying implications of Moominmamma wishing to the Hobgoblin for Moomintroll to stop being so upset about Snufkin leaving and it actually working because I don't think anybody's ever brought that up in anything regarding Moomintroll and Snufkin's relationship (atleast not often).

Or simply how terrifying the Hobgoblin is with that kind of power.
