I tried cross stitch for the first time!! ᘛ⁐̤ᕐᐷ.⋆˚౨ৎ˚⋆. <3
I used some boomark-sized pieces that I think are from my grandmother's supplies that she passed down. I love the lace they have, and the brown colour of the material :-)
First I did an ivy pattern with some grey butterflies and specks. Second, I made a night sky scene with a crescent moon, pine trees, ferns, and an owl on a branch. I've also started a little garden scene, with rows of plants.
It was all freehand, and didn't really thin out the embroidery thread for a lot of it, so the lines are thicker and more solid-looking.

I just can't stop knitting sock weight hats- I've made about two dozen now, I'm obsessed. It helps that my head's buzzed and I hate going outside without a hat, so some variety is nice, but I'm gonna need to empty a dresser drawer for them soon. This one's four strands of vintage cone nylon held together, which is surprisingly soft and slinky

Remember these??? This is only about half of what I made from a mix batch of mystery fibers. I didn't measure anything, didn't really have a plan. I just wanted to make some Obi-Wan inspired yarn.

I blended these in APRIL! It was really fun to do, and half the time the board reminded me of a candy bar. Rich dark chocolate with a bright gold caramel and a pop of white nugget. Very Jedi.

After 6 months, I've finally finished the single! I weighed it, and it came out to 233g. I'm planning on chain plying it because....I want to? I am really bad at chain plying though, so I'm a little nervous about it. I always over twist it. I saw a video of someone pre-chaining the single and wrapping it on a bobbin so they could just spin it when they were done. I think that sounds like a great idea but I'm not sure my single is....good. I think there are some weak spots because it got super thin at points, and if I try to chain it first, I'll end up breaking it. Who knows. It's gotta rest for a while anyway.

Hey friends! How's the fiber craft/works scene on Tumblr? I used to crochet and just got into knitting big time. It's so satisfying so I'd love to her peoples stories and or tips and tricks! Are there any tags I should look out for?

Getting to the actual weaving part of weaving is so much fun, the color patterns I designed for these towels popped so nicely and were very satisfying to see come to life out of my notebook.
Turns out pre-planning DOES go a long way /grumble grumble/

I published my first pattern on Ravelry and Ribblr! I went with one of my staples, an oversized hood. Meet the Sprightly Hood! (Links below the cut)

Starting a project for a soon to be newborn! I’m really excited because I get to be incredibly whimsical when it comes to gifts for babies: this time, I’m going for a nice seafoam green star blanket that might be made again since I kind of want one for myself.

I finished crocheting a blanket and Pedro decided she approved. It took a month of work and way too much yarn.

A year's worth of fiber (lol I'll buy more because I'm weak) bought at a local wool festival. I look forward to this all year! I get to see friends and find wonderful new things! This year while chatting my friend told me the colors she likes and then told me I like "Care Bear colors". 🐻 what?? Me? This human who's not quite father in law reacted to my new car with a sigh and "You and black". And that's when I took the above picture and fine, I'm into "Care Bear colors". There is a lot of gray on that table for a Care Bear.
You should always read my alt text because there is much more info in them.

Oops, started tatting again. I haven't made a Real Thing yet, but I understand what I'm doing now!
Months ago, I ordered shuttles and attempted tatting. I could form stitches and use two shuttles, but not read diagrams (had no idea when to reverse work).
And then I started some new knitting and weaving and crochet and spinning projects (oops) and forgot about tatting.
Now tatting makes sense. I don't know what my brain was doing in the background for those last months, but it all makes sense now. Can't believe reversing work was so hard for me to grasp, nor can I believe I was having terrible tension and ergonomic issues that have mostly just... Vanished?
I'm clearly still learning and need more consistency, but I feel unbelievably ready to tackle some big projects now.

The sunlight made for great pictures today and I just finished cleaning the whole area. But now I've got 3 functional looms ready to run at any given time, the 8 shaft table loom lives in my craft corner in the living room.
But this is the fiber shed! (Technicallllly a covered patio, but fiber shed sounds more fun) I've got my 8 shaft/10 treadle LeClerc Compact and my 4 shaft/6 treadle Lillstina and my two wheels out here.
I finally got a decent space heater as well, so winter shouldn't kick my crafting too hard this year. I've got lots I want to get done!
