Stüssy is another influential classic brand that inspired many streetwear designers and brands over the course of decades. The Stüssy brand originated from the Southern California surf scene and skate culture. According to Nigo the company’s name is a reference to the Japanese idiom “A Bathing Ape in Lukewarm Water” used to portray overindulgent behavior which entirely captures the whole essence of the brand.
