The answer to those questions is a bit complicated and non-definitive. The U.S. FDA has defined jam and jelly in very specific and mathematical terms (such-and-such percentage of juice to fruit to water to sugar = jam/jelly); it also uses jam and preserve interchangeably, for the most part. While interesting, the FDA’s definitions did not matter much to me because the FDA wasn’t really using the terms in the way that we usually use the terms. Also, the FDA wasn’t comprehensive in its definitions. It didn’t tackle other fruit spreads like marmalades or curds, for instance.

The more I looked into, the more I thought, dude, this information would make a good infographic."

In Farmpunk buildings and cities get knocked down and spread out to make more room for cash crops like soy beans and corn which provide the main sources of food and fuel respectively.

The biggest cities have migrated into orbit around the planet where they can expand without taking up precious space for resources

What were once small farm towns are now Tower cities that stretch both far into the sky and down below the earth’s crust with community gardens organized and maintained by machines and computers on every level

Small island countries now ring their islands on dock cities to make room for enormous sugarcane plantations and citrus orchards

Colossal harvesting robots roam the fields of mainland countries

There are no streets, only long, open highways that almost completely grid the map

World Hunger may be solved but Overpopulation is an incredible catastrophe bearing down upon the world.

Climate Change has been more or less solved, but with massive amounts of weather control advancements used to do so and even manipulation of the amount of sun that reaches your crops, the climate may very well soon become property for purchase

There’s been territory disputes for decades over using land for Ranching or Produce and where you live could very well determine whether or not meat is even available to you.
