EU ambassadors flinch at Ukraine free-trade compromise
It is an unwelcome twist on the eve of Thursday’s EU summit, at which leaders wish to present solidarity with Ukraine because it resists Russia’s two-year-old conflict of aggression whereas taking care to not anger highly effective constituents — together with struggling farmers — who may sway June’s European election.
The compromise hammered out between negotiators from the Council, the European…
India's wedding industry, known for its grandeur and luxury, is currently facing challenges due to farmer protests. Thousands of farmers are protesting against a new farm bill, affecting various sectors, including weddings. This article discusses the major impacts of these protests on the wedding industry and how those involved are dealing with these difficult times.
Wedding Plans Disrupted
A significant impact of the protests on the wedding industry is the cancellation of wedding registrations. Many couples are struggling to find venues for their weddings because of roadblocks and travel issues caused by the protests. With guests and vendors finding it hard to reach venues on time, the logistical problems have added stress and uncertainty for couples planning their big day.
Challenges with Food and Catering
The protests have also affected wedding menus and catering services. With farmers blocking highways and disrupting transportation routes, food suppliers are having trouble getting fresh ingredients and ensuring timely food delivery. This has led to limited food options, increased costs, and last-minute changes for couples trying to find alternative catering options.
Flower and Decoration Shortages
Flowers and decorations play a crucial role in weddings, but the farmer protests have disrupted the supply of these items. Florists are finding it hard to get fresh flowers, leading to shortages and increased prices for flowers and decorations.

Italian and Spanish farmer protesters block dozens of roads
Spanish farmers blocked traffic on some of the country’s main motorways on Tuesday, joining colleagues from other European countries protesting against high prices, bureaucracy and competition from non-EU countries, local media reported.
Donaciano Dujo, vice president of ASAJA, one the largest farmers associations in Spain, told national broadcaster TVE:
With different shades, in the whole of the European Union, we have the same problems.
ASAJA and other farmers’ associations had been calling for protests since Thursday, but many farmers took to the roads with their tractors on Tuesday, causing traffic jams across the country from Seville and Granada in the south to Girona near the French border, road authorities said. Dujo added:
This European farmer's protest has made me use my car less which ironically is better for the environment of me.
When I did need it, I tried to stay go to places that wouldn't be the farmer's target. They can keep their protest & I did my thing which is a win-win
But the mental gymnastics of taking route A cuz it's not the motorway, but also not route B cuz road constructions & also not route C cuz it's really annoying in my opinion is kinda tedious. Oh well... I still stand by the farmers
