Day 25:Write a scene that describes your MC well.

Scene:The Queen's return.

I sat in our room while my wife was being cleaned up after her travels. She was visiting her family in a small village outside of our kingdom. I would've gone if my responsibilities hadn't kept me busy all day.

I stood up and went to adjust myself in the mirror. I decided to surprise her with a new outfit that I had. In place of my mostly white and gold outfit, I now had a black tunic with gold trim. A brown belt held up by a white jewel and white baggy pants. I now had black curly-toed shoes with gold soles in replacement of my simple brown shoes. I still wore our wedding ring but on my other hand was a ring of gold and silver. I also had my gold earrings, but they now had small white crystals hanging off the ends of them. There were gold cuffed bracelets around my wrist and gold cuffed bracelets around my ankles. And around my neck was a muti colored jewel attached to a gold chain.

I turned to the lamp underneath my desk.

"Hayden!"

"Where is he?"

Adrian walked through the grassy field. It was sunny and there's was a light breeze in the air. Adrian came across a giant red tent. He saw a shadow-like figure against the walls of the tent.

"There he is."

Adrian began walking to the tent entrance.

Hayden sat down on one of the pillows in the tent. His eyes were fixated on the knife that was given to him by the Sorceress. He remembered the deal that she offered him.

"You want to be more than a bystander?"

The Sorceress looked down at Hayden as she sat on her throne.

"Yes, I want to be just as important as my brother."

"Your brother, they treat him like a God, correct?"

"Yes, he's the Dragon Lord. It's his fate to rule the dragons."

"And what are you supposed to be?"

The Sorceress tapped her chin, curiously.

"I'm nothing to them, I'm just the bystander, as you said."

"But you don't have to be."

The Sorceress stood up from her throne and went to another room. She quickly came back with a knife in her hands.

"You could be the Dragon Lord instead of your brother."

"You could even be the God of Dragons if you help me."

"With what exactly?"

The Sorceress handed him the blade with a holder to go around his waist.

"I'm working on a spell that'll keep my youth."

"One of the ingredients is dragon wings."

"You want me to get you a pair of dragon wings?"

"More specifically, I need the wings of the most powerful dragon there is."

"You want me to get the Dragon Lord's wings?"

"Yes, I can use the magic from the wings to make you powerful, and I can make myself young forever, and you can become the Dragon Lord."

"And what about my brother?"

"I assume that you want him to live."

"He might die?!"

"Yes, if you don't stop the bloodflow from the wounds of where the wings are, then he'll die of blood loss and the open wounds."

The Sorceress grabbed a potion and handed it to him.

"This healing potion, however, will heal your brother."

"How do I give it to him?"

"You can mix it in a drink, or you can rub on like lotion."

"It works either way, and he'll recover by either the end of the day or the morning."

"The scars might be permanent though, given how big the wings are and if he struggles, it's going to be even harder."

Hayden looked at the potion and at the blade. He could have a ton of power if he cuts off and brings the Sorceress his brother's wings.

"I need some time to think it over?"

"Of course, I understand."

Hayden left the Sorceress castle and went to their tent in the valley.

He kept staring at the blade, unsure of if he should go through with the deal or not. What if the potion she gave him fails? What if he gets caught? What if his brother ripped off his wings for revenge?

All of these thoughts buzzed through his mind. On one hand, he could be very powerful. On the other hand, his actions would have horrible consequences.

"Hayden?"

"Hmm?"

Hayden looked up to see Adrian leaning into the tent.

"Hey."

"Uh hi, Adrian."

Adrian came into the tent. His hazel eyes were lit up by the candles as well as his brown hair. Adrian sat down next to his brother and placed his arm over Hayden's shoulder.

"Are you alright?"

"I haven't seen you since you got into an argument with Alexis."

"And that was a few days ago."

"I'm fine, I just needed some time to myself to clear my mind."

"I'm sorry that happened, I should've tried harder to calm things down."

"I mean, it kind of is."

"Having all these responsibilities and little time to relax can get irritating sometimes."

"Also, hearing the same praises over and over again can get...old."

"Wow, the Dragon Lord being annoyed by his people?"

"How bizarre."

"Hey, I didn't mean it like that!"

Adrian shoved Hayden off of him.

"It sure sounded like it."

"No, I just meant that hearing the same things so many times can lose its original meaning."

"That's what being annoyed is your grace."

"Whatever."

"So, why'd you come all the way out here to find me?"

"Hmm?"

"Surely, you want to do more than just talk."

"I wanted to make sure that you were okay since I hadn't seen you in awhile."

"It's only been three days, and I can take care of myself."

"I know, but you've been wondering off a lot lately, and it's beginning to worry me."

"Like I said before, I just needed a place to clear out my mind."

"You've been keeping a lot to yourself lately. That's also worrying me."

"In fact, ever since I started my role as the Dragon Lord, I've felt that we're getting further apart from each other."

"*growls*I'm fine Adrian!"

Hayden rolled into his side, facing away from Adrian.

"*sighs*I'm perfectly fine, everything is fine."

Adrian sat down in front of Hayden and placed his hand on his arm. Hayden flinched in response.

"You know, I love you more than my title right?"

"Yes but, they love you and they treat you like a God."

"I'm just a bystander that means nothing to them."

"That is not true!"

"Do you see them praising me the same way that they praise you?!"

Hayden snapped at his brother, yelling in his face, making Adrian jumo back in fear.

"Do you see them giving me the same respect that they give you?!"

"Hayden, please, take a deep breath."

"Sorry, but it's true."

"Oh, come on, you know that's not true, they never do that when I'm around-"

"No shit Sherlock, they're afraid or you but they could care less about me."

"Alexis even calls me things like an eyesore."

"You know she doesn't mean that."

"Stop talking for them, Adrian. I know them, they're not sorry."

"Stop apologizing for them, you've done nothing wrong."

Hayden hugged his brother and tried to reach for his wings with the blade but found himself unable to do so.

"I can't do it..."

Hayden muttered under his breath. Adrian looked down at Hayden. He gave him a worried look.

"What's wrong?"

"I can't.. I..."

"Shh, it's okay, come here."

"Will you come home?"

"Sure, I guess."

"I need to do something first though."

"What are you talking about?"

"I'll be right back."

"Hayden, wait!"

"Just stay here, I'll be fine."

Hayden flew off to the Sorceress lair. Adrian followed him and watched their conversation.

"Have you thought about my offer?"

"Yes."

"Do you have what I asked of you?"

"I have something better?"

"What?"

Hayden took off the robe. He took the knife and began cutting off his own wings. Adrian stared in fear before quickly dashing inside. Hayden saw Adrian in the corner of his eyes and ripped off the rest of his wings before throwing them onto the ground. Blood ran down his back and fingers.

"You can take my wings but you can't have my brother's."

"Gnh!"

Hayden bent down in pain. He somehow managed not to scream throughout the whole exchange. His breathing was heavy, and he began to cough up some blood.

"Hayden!"

"I'm fine, I just..."

Hayden was already on the verge of passing out. He quickly threw the bloodied knife as well as the holder on the ground before telling his brother to take them back to the tent.

"Hayden."

"Just trust me please."

"Alright."

Adrian didn't waste any time. He picked Hayden up and flew to the tent. The Sorceress picked up the wings and headed to her workshop, where she added the wings go her potion and finished it.

Adrian made it back to the tent with Hayden, who was unconscious. Before he passed out, Hayden had informed him on how to use the potion. Adrian was reluctant at first because he didn't trust the lady who tried to make a deal with his brother but decided to use it anyway out of desperation. He rubbed the potion onto Hayden's wounds and wrapped them up in bandages before laying him down on the bed and covering him up with the blanket. Adrian stayed with Hayden the whole night and waited till morning for him to wake up.

"*yawns*Hmm?"

"Hey..."

Adrian placed his hand on Hayden's shoulder. He smiled at his brother.

"I'm glad you're awake."

"I'm glad to be alive."

Adrian handed him some food and water. He put a little bit of the potion in the water as a precaution, just to make sure that Hayden would fully heal.

"Thank you."

Hayden began eating, and Adrian moved behind Hayden with some new bandages. He took the bandages off and looked at his wounds.

"How do they look?"

"They're better, for the most part."

The wounds were now scars that aline his skin where his wings once were.

"I don't think these scars will go away."

"It's fine, as long as they're taken care of, it'll be fine."

"What was all of that about?"

"What?"

"That lady mentioned something about a deal."

"That, um..."

"Don't worry about it, it's taken care of."

"You cut off your wings!"

"What happened?"

"It's not easy to explain."

"Please tell me now."

Hayden reluctantly told Adrian everything. How he met the Sorceress, the deal she offered him, her wanting Jim to cut off Adrian's wings, and the confrontation that he just so happened to witness. Adrian was speechless. He didn't know where to start or how to respond.

"I...why?"

He could barely form words as he asked his brother his question.

"I thought that if I was powerful, then the others would treat me with the respect I deserve."

"I had no idea what I was getting into or that she wanted me to hurt you."

"Still, why would trust a stranger and a make a deal like that with them?"

"*sighs*I wasn't thinking and I was being foolish."

"I'm sorry."

"I'm not mad at you, Hayden."

"You're not?"

Hayden was surprised by Adrian's response.

"No, I'm not. You didn't try to hurt me."

"But I consider it."

"Yes, but you didn't do it."

"Thinking about something and doing something are two different things Hayden."

"I.. uh, thank you."

"You're welcome."

"Lord Adrian!"

"Sounds like they're calling for you."

"Come on."

Adrian helped Hayden put his robe on and walked with him outside, where Alexis and the others were waiting for Adrian.
