Meet Avery, the Pink Opal Dragon Shifter [Mod Lilac]
Name: Avery
Species: Pink Opal Dragon Shifter
Gender: female
Pronouns: she/her
Sexuality:  fluid/sapphic leaning
Alignment: light
Personality: Avery is bold, bright, and exudes confidence. She is full of life and energy and is always ready for a new adventure. She’s most looking forward to exploring and spending time with her companion doing all sorts of new things from outdoor activities, to art shows, to music festivals and nearly everything in between.
At first she’s generally a little quieter and more shy around new people, but often quickly opens up to be her loud, boisterous self. She laughs loudly, with her head thrown back, without any care of being “too much.” She stands for what she believes in, and has a strong moral compass. She’s usually unafraid to speak her mind, especially when protecting those she cares about. Will not hesitate to punch a N*zi.
Description: Avery is short and spicy. She’s about 5 feet tall, in her human form, and has deep pink hair that comes up to her shoulders. She often dresses in black - everything from dresses, to pants and blouses, with platform boots. She loves nail art and will have her nails done about twice a month. Her hair is shoulder length, and it is naturally a dark pinky maroon color. She often wears black eyeliner in a sharp wing, and lipstick, but not much else makeup.
In her dragon form she is about 6 feet from nose to tip of tail, and only about 4 feet from shoulder to ground. Her scales are dark pink, same as her hair color, and shimmer lighter in the sunlight to a bubblegum pink, and deeper to a maroon in the shade or at night. Her wingspan is about 12 feet from tip to tip, and she quite likes flying.
Hobbies: Avery loves listening to music - everything from bubblegum pop, to heavy metal. She often takes photos at concerts and often helps organize charity concert events. She has dabbled in drawing and painting and sometimes returns to those hobbies. She also likes to go out for long walks, and explores new neighborhoods, both astral and physical.
Likes: music, art, concerts, activism, museums, fashion and makeup, spicy foods, puzzles, watching videos online for inspiration
Dislikes: bigotry, homophobia, bugs with “too many” legs like millipedes, sunburn, the feeling of wet clothing on the skin
Favorite color/s: pink, teal, purple
Favorite animal: Emu
Favorite Song:  Labour by Paris Paloma
Closest spirit friend: Mainey the Hedgehog Pixie Shifter
Magic: Avery is great with glamours and self-love/self-care magic, spellwork, and rituals.
Companionship: Avery would do best in a medium sized family (no more than 50 members total). She loves her freedom and the ability to move around and explore without feeling weighed down, but she’s really looking for a home base to return to, and to build some closer friendships.
Having someone to help ground her sometimes more chaotic energy is necessary, but she doesn’t want to be the main/solo companion for someone. She feels that that would create too much stress on her to “perform.” She’s not looking for romance at this time. She WOULD like a vessel and is open to ideas.
Bonding activities: Exploring your neighborhood - checking out any local shops, museums, art exhibits, parks, quiet corners etc; listening to music together, watching videos or reels together, especially makeup based or music based ones; potentially going to activism events if you’re comfortable with that; going for walks; she’d like to take you on a flight via astral once you’re comfortable with that.
Price: $22.22
Conjurer: Mod Lilac
If you're feeling called to Avery please apply for her here

In terms of shinigami abilities, what are Keiko's strengths and weaknesses? (and maybe likes/dislikes -just because they are good/bad at something doesn't always indicate if they like it or not)
Tumblr media
STRENGTHS:
Keiko's extremely brave, to a fault perhaps! She'll face down bullies and stand up for others, she doesn't shrink down or shy away. Rangiku's shown her how to perfectly punch motherfuckers in the face without breaking a nail.
Sharp! She's a fast learner and absolutely talented in her observational skills -- being able to catch onto patterns and other details within moments of it appearing, an active and honed mind, making her also better equipped to unleash some lethal sarcasm and wit at the drop of a dime.
She's an agile little fucker, slippery, hard to pin down or catch because she zips around so quickly. This translates over into Keiko becoming excellent with Shunpo once she learns and grasps the art.
To follow in her dad's footsteps, Keiko focuses a lot of her training around kenjutsu, and while she's relatively sloppy with it when she's younger, she refines this as she ages and turns her relentless charging tactics of her childhood into a terrifying flurry of quick attacks which can easily overwhelm
Basically, she's a speedy gremlin
WEAKNESSES:
Kido. One hundred percent it's Kido. She's awful at memorizing those long incantations and sees no reason in stopping, pausing a fight, leaving herself vulnerable, only to fire off something that probably won't even be strong enough to hurt her enemies. Her low motivation to actually master this art leaves her fairly vulnerable in facing against Kido, too, as well as generally not coping well with scenarios that call specifically for Kido. She knows basics.
Keiko isn't physically strong, at all, and it'd take maybe one decent hit for her to be down and out. She really needs to work on her durability.
Can become highly emotional, riled, or otherwise discouraged during battle. Keiko has some insecurities about being able to measure up to her parents, who are both titled Shinigami, whereas she feels like nothing truly special beyond her lineage. It's a sore spot, leaving her prone to acts in attempts to prove herself perhaps falling flat on its face, shattering her self-esteem.
Over-compensating independence: she'll isolate herself unnecessarily or face things alone without reasoning beyond 'I can handle it' and a blood-given inability to ask for help.
LIKES:
Food. Snacks. Especially things to munch on, specifically if it's junk food from the human world. Her parents live a fairly traditionalist lifestyle, so Keiko enjoys stuffing her bag full of convenience store snacks to bring back to Soul Society with her during World of the Living visits.
Tech, namely her phone. She has an iPhone 6s that Gin gifted her for one of her birthdays via Urahara's shop. It's in pristine condition, despite now being several years old, and runs smoothly. Keiko guards it carefully. She also enjoys video games ( Hotaru showed her them, and she got hooked; she likes either simply watching or playing them with others, she doesn't like solo-playing them ) and watching Youtube, especially hair and makeup tutorials.
Winter festivals, particularly when there are firework shows and games. It's a tradition in her family to go to them yearly, and they always make her feel warm, safe, and nostalgic. She likes getting prettied up for them, too, even if she initially didn't like the yucky kimono when she was younger -- too busy trying to emulate her dad. Rangiku's helped her with embracing femininity a lot.
Training with Gin, in any setting. She feels like these are the cherished moments between just the two of them where she can ask him anything and he'll answer. The bonding and experience she gains from each session makes her ready to break anyone's nose who tries to badmouth her father.
DISLIKES:
Being coddled. Even if she wants it, she hates the feeling of being babied or being sheltered away from the truth. She doesn't like it when her parents use that hushed tone around her, the 'we'll talk about this later when she's not here' voice. It grates at her trust and makes her feel like they're keeping secrets from her, like she can't handle them.
Cowards. Anyone who talks shit but then scrams as soon as the threat of getting hit pops up. People who have no problem making assumptions and accusations at her and her family while thinking they can just run away from consequences or cry out if she strikes at them for it. Keiko'll get in trouble again and again because of these loud-mouthed babies, and she has no shame in it.
Mayuri. What the actual fuck is that guy? He looks like a clown from those scary haunted movies she's discouraged from watching ( but she definitely snuck out and watched ) and now she has nightmares that pop up every now and again about his weird painted face and lipless mouth.
KIDO. Seriously, she hates this shit. Why is it a required skillset in the Shinigami Academy? Most of the Shinigami, even seated officers, almost never use Kido in battle!!! This isn't fair!! Who has time to shout a paragraph at someone!?

So I thought I’d finish yesterday but I didn’t. We had a lot of stuff happening. Anyways here’s chapter five. Enjoy!
The Silent Queen 5; Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From the Tree
Apple now stood in front of Grimm’s office, waiting a second to focus herself pans allow herself to smile. Why was she so worried, she’s Apple White, the soon to be fairest of them all. The headmaster loves having her as a student, she could get her way and everyone would watch as she helped fix Raven. Then she would be considered a hero and Raven would understand her! What was better then that?
The blonde White knocked the door to Grimm’s office twice, keeping her bright smile on. Soon she heard a tired “Enter.” Through the wood and immediately opened the door. She plastered on a bright smile. “Headmaster Grimm I would like to request something of you.” She chirped, she was honestly shocked when she saw how tired the headmaster was.
“What is it now Apple. I’m a little busy right know trying to rework Miss Queens schedule.” The tone was harsh though it was also quite soft. Apple felt sorry for the headmaster he had so much on his plate right now. What Apple was doing would help him. She just knew it!
Apple cleared her throat. “I would like to formally request that I am transferred to be Raven Queens new roommate.” She finished with cheery smile and stared at her shocked headmasters face.
“Do you speak sign language Miss White?” Headmaster Grimm questioned looking at the girl in front of him. Apple’s smile faltered. He frowned he knew exactly what was happening.
“No I don’t Headmaster. But seeing as -“ The headmaster cut her off. No one ever cut her off! She was Apple White, people were supposed to listen to her every word!
“Miss White I will only say this once. Raven has been deaf since birth. If you think that you can fix it then you are sorrowfully mistaken. Now please leave I have much more important things to do at this current moment.” The headmaster finished with an air of authority. He should have known this would happen. It was true he had blamed Mira earlier but then again he had forgotten about the swan princess from four generations ago. Platinum Swan deafness has only slightly changed the story. Making her less able while in the swan form. He couldn’t say it was a happy ending for Platinum, but it never was for the Swans. Apple stared at him as if she’s been slapped. Then she turned around and walked out of the door slamming it while muttering to herself about ^destiny^ and ^fate^. Grimm sighed were all Snow Whites so challenging?
-
Apple stormed into her dorm room to see Kitty and Lizzie sitting the future Cheshire Cats bed. It was a weird bed in a weird cave like wall. Apple didn’t think about it too hard. Wonderlandians never made any sense to her. She shot a glare at her roommate before morphing it into a pleasant (enough) smile. “Could you two please leave? I want to phone my mom.” She said in a sweet tone. She didn’t notice the grimaces on the other girls faces as they left to go to Lizzie dorm.
Apple pulled out her phone and went to the contacts picking out her moms she pressed call and waited. “Hello. Who’s calling?” The strained voice of her mother came out.
“Hi mom it’s me Apple.” Apple chirped looking at her mother thru the screen. She was holding a nail file and seemed more interested in it then her phone. She looked up at her daughter smiling a little.
“How’s your first day of Legacy Year? Are you doing well?” She questioned noticing the way Apple almost bit her lip. Diana rolled her eyes and spoke “Princesses don’t bite their lips. What happened?
Apple began to tell her story. Of how Raven Queen was deaf, how everyone thought it was natural and that Grimm wouldn’t let her switch rooms to help Raven because she didn’t speak sign. Apple looked at her mom with pleading eyes. “So what should I do?”
“Simple Apple. Find a new Evil Queen.” Snow felt as if it was obvious but it seemed that her daughter didn’t feel that way.
“How can I find a new Evil Queen. It’s always the child of the last one.” Apple pouted. She knew how the book worked. It wasn’t like anyone could be picked to be a character. Especially not one from her tale.
Snow rolled her eyes and started to file her left hands nails. “If someone hasn’t had a child then this it goes at random. Why do you think there’s so many different families of Charmings? Look at all the girls in your school, pick one and make her understand how important this is. Our stories future is in your hands Apple.” Snows voice was stern and Apple had to stop her self from shivering.
A weak “Yes ma’am” slipped from her throat. Once the call ended Apple thought to herself. It couldn’t be that hard to find someone less pretty then her could it?
-
Giles Grimm sat at his desk looking at the list of students who understood sign language. The list comprised of eleven students.
* Cerise Hood
* Ramona Badwolf
* Cedar Wood
* Maddie Hatter
* Ashlynn Ella
* Briar Beauty
* Meshell Mermaid
* Darling Charming
* Dexter Charming
* Daring Charming
* Hunter Huntsmen
He understood Cerise and Cedar. Childhood friends because of their parents. Ramona too he understood, Remus was close with Mira. Maddie it seemed was another friend of Ravens. He could guess the Hunter learned it in preparation for the next Snow White tale. He would have to understand Raven to take orders from here.
He wasn’t sure why the others knew sign but he was grateful that they knew. In total there were eight classes each day. He just had to make sure that at least one of the students would be with her at all times.
-
Raven lightly tilted the small mirror on her desk to point the other way. ‘And we’re done!’ She smiled as she stared at her side of the room. It was nowhere near as chaotic as Maddies but it was close.
The walls were a dark blueish purple and paint canvases were piled besides her bed. Her black desk sat in a corner across from her drawer filled with paint, paint brushes and other art supplies. Some fake flowers she had made with Butternut and Pie were floating on ribbons she had attached via her magic, she noticed one of the bouquets start to slip, she immediately used her magic to tighten the bond of the ribbon. He eyes changing to a vivid violet before returning to the seaweed green they always were. Maddie was on the roof of her side have some tea with her mouse. Raven couldn’t wait to see how this year would go.
Notes:
So since Raven can’t have a passion for music I made her an artist. Mostly paintings though.

An Open Letter to Supernatural
[ Spoiler warning for 15x20, obviously ]
I understand that a well-contemplated complaint about this ending cannot be made without first reading the original, pre-COVID, script of 15x20, but in the long run, the initial plan is not what will be remembered.
What will be remembered is what this show created. What it became beyond two brothers driving around the country, hunting monsters. Characters were introduced and developed, and in that, Sam and Dean Winchester become so much more than two kids living on the road. In the past 15 years, the cast, and thus the family, grew to something that would be unimaginable to those who started this project back in 2005. Not only did the characters and their stories become meaningful, but the show itself grew into, well, a family. The fans who have kept this show alive since Day 1 have come together to form what I believe is the greatest community in pop culture.
What hurts the most is that this finale did not do any of that development justice.
The finale (and consequently the episodes leading up to it) reverts back to the story between only Sam and Dean. While some see this as an ode to who they are--their brotherhood and familial bond being the heart of their values and the root of their characters--I cannot help but see this as a rejection of their experiences this past decade and a half.
What’s worse, episode 15x18 confirmed one of the most pure and powerful and goddamn beautiful romances that television will ever see. This story of an angel who abandoned his family and the only beings he’s known for thousands of years, all for one person. I knew from the instant the screen faded to black on November 5 that the story of Castiel will always be remembered, even if his feelings were unrequited. Castiel will always be remembered.
And then there’s Destiel. I was genuinely impressed that this show would even grow to include a queer angel, more importantly, a queer character in a leading role. The queer-baiting and the “bury your gays” trope both make this confession and its lack of acknowledgement that much worse (and is worthy of an entirely separate open letter for another night). It matters less if Dean does or doesn’t reciprocate these feelings and more that it’s wrong that he completely ignores it. Cas’s love confession, this beautifully tragic and tragically beautiful emotion coming from a being who wasn’t supposed to feel emotions at all, is something that, unfortunately, will become a secret that dies with Dean Winchester.
It’s truly a shame that the writers of this show let that happen.
We haven’t even touched the fact that Castiel’s death was an act of sacrifice to save Dean. Dean’s limited reaction and lack of mourning* tears apart this phrase that has become pivotal to the entire show and fanbase: “Family don’t end in blood.” While it would be a lot to ask that Dean rescue Cas from the Empty and resume their cycle of rescue and resurrection, I think it’s only fair that Dean take the time to fully accept Castiel’s actions and words for what they mean instead of simply moving forward as if they never happened.
What’s more, Misha Collins is one of the greatest and kindest people in this world, and he’s poured his heart and soul into Supernatural, just like everybody else. He’s spent 12 years on this project, and the final two episodes hardly mentioned his character. He didn’t deserve this. It’s heartbreaking that his last credit on this show will be a prank call from someone trying to impersonate him, and not something that pays tribute to such an important character and important actor**
The most devastating part of this ending is what happened in 15x19. Pardon my French when I say that that episode, the ultimate climax of the season and latter half of the series, was a piece of dog shit. It’s incredibly frustrating to invest in 15 years worth of television and look forward to this ultimate battle between two average boys and God the Almighty Himself and to instead watch a 6-minute long fist fight on the beach with the only dialogue being variations of “seriously guys, stay down.”
My issues with 15x19 lie less in the storyline that was chosen and more in how they were presented. I am completely on board with Jack taking God’s power and eventually becoming the new God, but the episode was far too quick to have any real meaning, and, as stated before, Castiel’s sacrifice, which allows Sam, Dean, and Jack to do what they do in 15x19, is hardly mentioned.
Most fans agree that 15x19 was far too quickly paced. The plot with Michael and Lucifer was questionable to begin with, but should have been an episode on its own if it were to be perused at all. Michael’s story in particular could have been fleshed out to reiterate this theme of overly loyal sons and their fathers, as well as their relationships with less loyal siblings, but was instead reduced to about 20 minutes of screen time.
Though this is less important, Lucifer’s plan to make a new Death felt like a cheap cop-out just to close the storyline with Death’s book, but we can finish that discussion another day.
The general fan reaction to this atrocity of an episode was that this was meta, and according to Becky, the ending was supposed to be dog shit. This, along with the untouched storyline started when Cas died, gave fans so much hope that the finale would be this amazing piece of art that puts Supernatural in the history books.
While it’s obvious that an hour cannot perfectly tie up every single event and arc with a pretty little bow, it can at least...try. Any finale should, at minimum, pay tribute to what the show started as (which 15x20 did well) and what it became (which 15x20 failed to do miserably).
In addition, a reference to character back in season 1 is incredibly frustrating when recurring characters with actual, well, character go unnoticed. I mostly reference Eileen here, but this also applies to Jody and Donna. Nobody even mentions the other wonderful friends who have helped Sam and Dean along their journey to Heaven. If family doesn’t end in blood, then why doesn’t it extend to include Castiel, Jack, Mary, Rowena, Charlie, Kevin, Jody and her girls, Donna, and so many others?
Dean’s death was sad, I’ll give them that (and honestly, I was expecting it). However, considering that this man has defeated apocalypses, killed Death, and taken down God, his death via nail in the wall was incredibly anticlimactic, and something that could literally have happened at any point over the 15 seasons. While Dean’s death was obviously not my ideal ending, I think it could have worked if it were done properly, and in this case, it was not. That said, I do appreciate that Sam did not try to bring Dean back, as that would indicate literally no growth at all.
Dean’s funeral was...pathetic, to say the least. Sam being the only person there was depressing considering that Dean had lots of other close friends (and you’d think that Jack would pay his respects, but apparently not), however, this is likely a scene that was impacted by COVID and the availability of some of the cast, so I will not dwell on that scene.
Dean’s time in Heaven complicates matters even more. Firstly, Bobby confirms that Castiel is no longer in the Empty and has been in contact with Jack. I would have loved to see this reunion; Cas is essentially Jack’s father, and I would have loved to see how their upgrading/remodeling of Heaven brought them closer together. I understand that the writers were trying to focus this finale story on the brothers, this goes back to my earlier point that you cannot simply ignore everything that that this show has grown to include. Bobby’s explanation also begs the question of why Dean had no intention of seeing Cas (or Jack, for that matter) again now that he has the opportunity.
Secondly, Dean’s instinct to go directly for the Impala was very in-character, however, the editing implied that driving was all Dean did until Sam died. As we know, Sam dies of old age, likely (completely guessing here) upwards of 40-50 years from Dean’s death, and that is a very, very long time for Dean to simply driving around the mountains. It would have been nice to see Dean reunite with other family and friends who are also in Heaven, however, again, COVID restraints.
Sam’s ending was similar to what I and a lot of other fans imagined (not necessarily wanted, but predicted) it to be: kids and a wife, living a normal, monster-free, life. I hate to believe that he doesn’t end up with Eileen (to my recollection, his wife was a blur in the background, and it is unclear if she was meant to be Eileen) however that might just be my bias and appreciation of Shoshannah Stern. While I’m glad that this storyline gave Sam the room to grow and develop without his brother, it also completely ignores everything that he’s been through this past decade and a half, and that is something that should not happen. Sam grew and changed so much since he left Stanford and leaving that life, the life of a hunter, behind feels very counterintuitive.
Let’s not even discuss the wig that Jared wore. It reminded me of the Cain wig that Rob wore in the Hillywood parody.
What shocked me the most at the beginning of this episode was the lack of a “The Road So Far” compilation. I hoped for the full song with a recap of all 15 seasons, or, at minimum, the typical single-season recap. “Carry On My Wayward Son” is such an important part of the show and the culture of the fan base, that it seems almost sacrilegious that the season finale not begin with this song and a memorial to the events in the past season (or series).*** I’m very happy that it was included at all, but I was shocked when Neoni’s cover took over.
No disrespect to Neoni; those girls are incredibly talented and I love their music, however, a series finale of a 15 season long show does not feel like the place for a cover when they already have the rights to the original, and the original is so iconic.
Lastly, I want to acknowledge Jensen Ackles’s reaction to this conclusion. At a con panel about a year ago, he said that he needed to be talked into agreeing to this script by Erik Kripke himself, because the ending just wasn’t sitting right with him. So many fans took this to believe that he was homophobic and afraid that of Destiel becoming fully canon, and he got so much more hate than he deserved, because ultimately, he was right in his first opinion. This isn’t the way this story should have ended. Jensen explained that he had been “too close” to the story, and that it took a more holistic view from a step backwards (the audience’s perspective, as he puts it) to agree on this ending, but honestly, nobody knows Dean Winchester better than Jensen, and he knows what’s best and what would be the best way to finish this character’s arc. I think fans and Jensen alike agree that this wasn’t it.
I sympathize with all of the cast and crew members who disagree with how this show ended but are bounded by contract to support this show no matter what. Especially Misha and Jensen.
Over all, I believe that Supernatural will go down in history (in internet communities, at least) as one of the greatest shows ever. While I do agree that the writing quality in terms of both dialogue and plot declined as years passed, the community, the family, that this show created cannot be ignored because of a poorly written/planned ending. I think that the fandom will collectively let go of this disaster of an ending that we were given and will, just like Sam and Dean, write our own stories. I have full faith and confidence that Supernatural will not be represented by this finale episode, but by the beautiful stories, amazing characters, and the family that this show created and what the fans have chosen to do with it.
Sincerely,
A Fiercely Frustrated but Fiercely Loyal Fan
* I do not count that last clip of Dean crying on the floor as mourning. In my mind, that was a reaction, not an emotional healing and overcoming, if that makes sense. I argue that if Dean were to fully mourn and process everything (like Sam did in 15x20) we would have seen at least a bit of that on screen.
** This is where I would have loved to see some of the original scripts. I hope that the writers initial intentions were to have Misha more involved in these last two episodes than what was likely a voice memo created in 10 minutes tops at Misha’s house.
*** The strange montage at the end of 15x19 makes so much more sense. I still would have preferred that montage at the beginning of 15x20. This also shines light on the video that Misha posted. What would we do without him :)

BIO : mohammed and karina sorenson have never been a conventional pair . to start , they meet when he , the biggest male model of the 80′s , is hired to walk for her winter collection , being one of europe’s top knitwear designers who never seems to go out of style . he’s eccentric and as magnetic as can be , she’s demure and has never said a word regarding anything but her work . they don’t make sense , but they’re married two years in secret before finally making their relationship known . mohammed , progressive and independent minded despite his traditional somali family , takes her last name and relocates to norway , where karina gives birth to a stunning baby girl that steals the hearts of the eu as the tabloids go crazy over her .
elissa is nearly 18 when her mother has the news to shock a nation : she’s miraculously pregnant , once more , far enough along that she intends to keep the baby despite both her and mohammed being into their 40′s . karina , having named their first baby , gives the reigns over to mo for their second child , but isn’t too happy with his pick
galen literally translates to mad , to incorrect , she argues , elissa firmly on her side
it gives her a chance to choose her own path . it gives her something to make for herself , mohammed counters , and that ends that .
galen is born in olso and is every bit as precious as her sister , now old enough to even potentially be her mother . her parents , busy with their ventures but over the moon to have a new baby in the house , raise her for her first few years in a small norwegian town to shield her from the prying eyes of the public
mohammed is first to notice that she doesn’t respond to her name or seem interested in looking at him , keeping her focus on whatever toy catches her eye for the day . he and karina write it off when she doesn’t hit her talking milestones or hold crayons the way other toddlers do , or figure she’s just an introvert when her preschool teacher mentions she doesn’t enjoy playing with the other kids during free time
they can’t ignore it any longer when she hits grade school , instantly falling behind with the rigorous private school pace and eventually warranting a visit from the school psychologist . she remembers the worry that paints her parents weathered faces when , at six years old , she’s given a laundry list of diagnoses and recommended for “ alternate ” schooling
something about the way her teachers treat her , so broken and unworthy of respect , makes her shut down , regressing with any progress she had shown and really refusing to cooperate with most adults she comes by . elissa is a budding starlet taking weekends off from film roles to spend time with her little sister , knowing that behind the quiet dark eyes of the child who wouldn’t look at you was a bright mind teeming with unsaid thoughts
her parents go to all ends to hire her private tutors and special therapists , which help her keep up at grade level . she’s in middle school when her science teacher , noting galen’s aptitude on exams and incredible recall , says she may fare better in an american school , recommending one he knows will accept a prestigious line such as the sorensons .
she moves to pennsylvania at 12 and the change is hard . she again regresses and suffers at the hands of her peers at the private catholic school she attends , her parents reaching a level of despair thinking they’ve failed their daughter , unable to get her the help she deserves despite their best attempts . galen , sick of being deemed the broken doll , seeks out an escape from the world to try and give her some reprieve from the constant pity she wishes she could express is only doing more harm than good
she likes makeup but sucks at it , enjoys art but can’t seem to draw for the life of her . she knows she’s tone deaf as all hell and doesn’t like sweating enough to be willing to dance . for once in her life , despite all the years of trying to ignore the well - meaning comments of those around her , galen starts to believe maybe there is something wrong about her .
it’s elissa’s celeb boyfriend who buys her an xbox for christmas , figuring the two could play it as a bonding experience . brimming with quiet gratitude , galen spends hours on the damn thing in between study sessions . tutors notice an improvement in focus , more motivation to work and get things done so she can finally hop back onto the console and escape into a fantasy .
she begs her parents to let her do homeschooling for her high school years , to which they agree and she thrives . she upgrades now to a gaming pc and plays through everything she can get her hands on . people on her teams don’t know her , and they don’t treat her any differently than anyone else , so before long she’s unlocking a bubblier side to herself that just feels content .
she records her playthroughs in silence ( she’s gaining confidence , but still shy , and god knows how the internet treats female gamers ) and uploads them to youtube under a stupid channel name with only a few hundred subscribers . noting the accuracy and speed with which galen destroys shooter games , someone suggests she try overwatch .
galen is hooked in an instant . she plays matches in between daily activities and quickly climbs ranks to becoming a force to be reckoned with in the competitive community . after finding a team where she feels particularly at - home , they launch to stardom due to their sweeping wins and incredible cohesion . galen becomes something of an overnight sensation , quiet and unassuming , and this recognition feels like the validation she’s been seeking for herself this whole time
she blossoms and cements her legacy as an overwatch competitive titan by the time she graduates , reaching grandmaster status and being known throughout the community for her strategy and technique . her youtube channel grows exponentially , and after realizing this is a viable future for herself , galen posts her playthroughs with her commentary and finds that people love what she does . she moves to new york in order to collaborate with other big gamers , and on her channel , she does a combination of horror games , overwatch trainings , and new release reviews and builds a following similar to markiplier or jackseptic eye , with a second vlog channel to document when she goes off to tournaments or simple things from her days
she’s 19 when her repeated wins get the attention of a massive gaming studio who invite her to come record some lines as an easter egg of sorts for her fans in a new game they’re developing . her work is met with rave reviews and suddenly game titans are nearly breaking down her door for more voice acting work . galen , who’s always felt like the ugly duckling compared to her sister’s perfect legacy , takes this opportunity to emulate her sister’s career , and nearly doubles over when a film studio approaches her with interest of casting her as a supporting role in a project of theirs . though she’s never pictured herself to be in front of a camera quite like that , with some coaching , galen nails it , and finds the high of acting catapults her from relative fame into newfound stardom .
she’s one of the newer members of the brat pack considering her youtube fame was more inconspicuous than her film work , though she still is adjusting to life in the limelight . she stays close to her roots and continues to post regularly to her channel and streams on twitch , collaborating with other increasingly big names to gain her more views .
galen’s most notable push since rising to fame has been her advocacy for neurodiversity and recognition for how poorly people with learning disabilities are treated in society . she doesn’t go in detail with her diagnoses but she does make jokes about them on her stream in order to normalize their mentions . she recently dropped a sponsor for their support of autism speaks and donates a majority of her merch revenue and tournament winnings to advocacy causes . she’s proud of who she is and hopes the future can be shaped into what kids like her needed when they were growing up .
galen lives up to her father’s prediction this whole time and changes her channel’s name to galengaming , proud to tout the moniker that spurred her to create a path she wanted rather than be told who to be by the world around her .
PERSONALITY : galen has an energy about her that is like the sun hidden behind a cloud . upon first impressions , she’s a bit more timorous and nervous as she gets her footing of wherever she may be , especially with some of the more public - eye type settings she’s been put in since sort of being sucked into the brat pack . she wants to make sure she’s acting appropriately for whatever the situation calls and may often seem tense or apprehensive .
once she’s loosened up or seen a familiar face she can latch onto , she blossoms into a ball of unfiltered energy . she loves humor and memes and can often be found competitively launching memes she’s found into her team’s group discord server . she’s witty and often makes herself the butt of her own jokes in order to lighten the mood , though she’ll be sure to clarify that she loves herself and only does so to keep herself humble lmao .
her playthroughs are VERY stream of consciousness but its this lack of filter that seems to be her fans’ favorite thing about her , a willingness to say whatever unhinged thing she may be thinking followed by a shrieking scream after a jumpscare or a string of screeching expletives after missing a goal
she can perhaps sometimes be too unfiltered and unwittingly come across as harsh or blunt , though she’ll often realize this after the fact and feel incredibly remorseful . galen has a habit to overthink and will panic for the rest of the night if she fears she’s inadvertently offended you , but won’t apologize due to being too nervous to figure out exactly how to do so ssksksks
one of galen’s most notable qualities is her heart , her benevolence and empathy that lead her to want everyone to feel included regardless of how different they may be . though she tries to give everyone a chance , there’s a fair amount of people perhaps too materialistic for her to get along with , and her polite way to ignore them is simply keeping her distance and pretending to not know them
which . in her own way . comes across as shady sksksk “oh you know so and so ? ” omg no i dont haha who are they “ u literally met them last night ” hahaha no i didnt x
she can be prone to mood swings simply due to a sensitivity to her own feelings and a tendency to overthink . she’ll wonder why she feels weird and even if it’s just because she’s hungry she’ll assume it’s because she said “thanks you too” when the cashier told her to enjoy her meal and then she has to sulk and play animal crossing alone in the dark for an hour before she can come out and be chill again even tho she feels worse than when she started bc shes just HUNGRY ASKSKKS
she’s used to being infantilized so she tends to be sort of short tempered if people talk down to her . this is when the wit kicks in as she is really just tired of being treated poorly by people who don’t even know her and has decided she will refuse to take any more shit ! can be a bit snippy even without realizing it but if she’s close to you she’ll usually be like “ oh my god that was rude as fuck im so sorry ” and feel bad for 20 minutes even after you say its okay lmaoo
random blurbs : um DONT ask me who she plays in her overwatch tournaments bc im using opossum and wikipedia to figure shit out as i goes , but i know for sure she calls out a lot of misogyny in the gaming world on social media !
always has her switch with her i KNOW this for a fact
anime nerd ....... nobody call her out on it she will deny until she is blue in the face and then hum the one punch man intro in her streams as if hundreds of thousands of people arent witnesses LMAO
this is so stereotypical nerd but she hates the outdoors ! says the US is so dirty and stuffy she says scandanavia is the only place she’ll ever like to be outside , she slips into norwegian when she’s recording if she gets jumpscared so she doesnt get demonetized for over - swearing lmao
also speaks french because she picked it up from her mom ! her dad usually only spoke english or norwegian , so galen didn’t get to pick up on much somali or arabic but she def knows at least a few words here and there
she vlogs a good amount of her life but she’s kinda shy about talking about who she’s dating , will probably try to keep her romantic life to herself !
excited as all hell to get into acting but the super fame that’s coming with it kinda freaks her out . she knows it’s a trade off bc she loves the feeling it gives her but hates how people are now overstepping a lot of boundaries that they didn’t before when she was just a popular youtuber
inspos are juno from the iconic movie juno , toph beifong from atla , louis theroux YES THE DOCUMENTARY GUY LEAF ME AL ONE , & amy from booksmart !

𝚁𝚎𝚏𝚕𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚗’ 𝚘𝚗 𝙿𝚛𝚘𝚜𝚙𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚗’.
As yet another bullet blurred past his ear with what seemed a mere fraction of an inch from his ear, Chez wondered how his afternoon had gone so south with such a sudden ferocity.
What had started with such promise, had quickly turned shit.
His day had begun pretty serenely with a shift at Teller- Morrow. The work hadn't taken as long as expected, which was a positive for him, not so much for Gemma. Meaning that the labour charge was gonna be less, but that's the dealio. Chez Grazer had absolutely no doubt the fierce matriarch, or his Uncle Fallon would find another million things for him to do until something else booked in or he was needed elsewhere.
Once wheeled free from under the chassis of an old Renault, a tatted rag soaks up the excess oil as the tall tattooed mechanic rubs each finger singularly. The prospects eyeline takes in the perfectly aligned row of Harleys. The highly buffed polish of each one reflecting with the bright glints of Californian sunshine.
With an earth shattering roar of engines, they had perfectly filed in through the gate around an hour ago. Each member dismounting gracefully before removing helmets and gloves, then trooping into the clubhouse. Possibly for Church.
Not being a full member, he wasn’t privy to such information, only allowed to bask in the presence of Church to either clean or sit at the back of the room during matters of great importance.
Or at least that is what he had been told. To date his only visits had been to empty ashtrays and wax the beautiful and painstakingly carved table.
He’d get there.
..𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦.
The club was in his blood. Part of the family DNA. Some might say he was following his Fathers footstep out of obligation to his memory. Especially given that Wally was an original, a First Nine.
It was so much more than that.
Sure, every son wants to make their Pap proud, but for Chez this was a life path he’d chosen for his own gains.
Given that their Uncle Fallon, his Da’s biological brother had raised him and Taylor since Wally’s untimely death, - who had then went on to also join the club, this outlaw life was doubly engrained in the young Grazer. The final male heir left to carry the honour.
- he 𝘩𝑜𝑝𝑒𝑑.
Chez wanted the bike and everything that came with it.
The brotherhood. The danger, death, destruction and adrenaline.
He was aware that the club had migrated away from the first nine’s ideal of what they desired for SAMCRO, but in his eyes, this was everything it should be. In his opinion, they served and protected the community better than any damn police department.
The babes, tits and ass on tap was also a undeniably huge draw.
Hanging around the club as soon as he could walk, club kids became accustomed to the sexualised nature of what was entailed within its walls and once he’d been awarded his Reaper patch, it would be a world that was laid at his feet too.
But for now, his life comprised of fishing panties out from the back of sofas, U-bends and general day to day stupid shit that the guys can think up, combined with the menial ass jobs no fucker wants.
Chez knew with absolutely certainty it was a test. Not only to prove his worthiness and loyalty to the club, but his commitment and bond to the guys. Being a son of a SON meant absolute shit when it came to being patched in. He would be patched in /if/voted suitable. On his own merits. Not his Father’s. Or his Uncles.. and Grazer Jr wouldn’t have wished it any other way.
If he was in need of extra resolution at any time, Chez would take Wally’s rings from the drawer in which he kept them, slip them on to his own fingers and draw strength. Remembering the amount of times his then much smaller hands held them, dreaming of becoming a SON as they swung around child sized fingers. Taylor has given him them as his own when he was accepted as a Prospect, with some little speech about how proud Dad would’ve been. They fit now and soon he would earn the privilege to wear them and the Reaper.
Hey, Dilly day dream...’ The snappish retort causing Chez’s head to swing around and meet the scrutinising, levelling glare of Gemma as she stands mere feet away. A single denim clad hip jutted out to the side, being the resting place to a set of perfectly manicured nails. Although he struggled to steer his direction of gaze anyway other than ample and exposed chest.
I’m gonna imagine you’re dreamy of some big titties and got lost a little there. Staring off in the distance like some school girl with a crush.” Not pausing for breath in order to grant him an opportunity to reply, she continues on in the same breath. ‘..Here..” the free hand waving a twenty dollar bill towards his nose.
“Go get me coffee and a donut, darlin’. I need the sugar today. Calories be damned.’
“Sure, Gem.”
Snatching the money free from her fingers, the oiled rag is tossed carelessly into the tool box below, as the prospect sets about doing as instructed.
The chick at the coffee house was pretty hot, so Chez didn’t mind this particular errand at all.
‘...and don’t take all fuckin’ day, Romeo. They need you in the clubhouse when you get back.’
...comes the call from the office as he rounds the gates of the compound, offering the matriarch - who is casually leaning against the wooden jam of the door, a cheeky salute of finger to forehead before disappearing out of sight.
After a very pleasant chat with Carla from the coffee place and having been successful (was there really any doubt.) in securing her number, Chez dropped the sugary goods to Gemma in the office and made his way to the clubhouse as instructed.
He was stood behind the bar as the brothers completed their church meeting, hearing the clack of the gavel before they all began filing out the double doors. Chez dutifully laid a varying selection of liquors and glasses out on the worn, wooden bar surface and with a curious glance, he quickly deduced that the meeting had went well and this was a cause for celebration.
Gloria, an eater who was hanging around on the off chance of being able to provide some entertainment of the naked kind, was also party to this deduction and the younger Grazer’s mouth raised into a one sided smirk as he saw the retrieval of her cell from the secured seat of her bra. Soon the place would be crawling with gash.
Sa-ᴡᴇᴇᴛ﹗
‘Well done, kid.’ His sponsor praised whilst reaching to retrieve an already poured measured.
‘Keep ‘em coming. We’re about to make a good packet. It’s cause for celebration.’
As he holds a shot glass in between his own thumb and forefinger, Chez raises it in silent salute before slinging it backwards in unison to Tig. The familiar after burn and harsh taste as it slides downwards causing the slightest of winces, having become accustomed to the hard liquor.
“I’m down with that, yo.”
Shortly after, the rest of the CroEaters arrive and the party suddenly becomes a rager. In light of this, Luanne’s call to Jax is treated as somewhat of an inconvenience by the Vice President, who is currently undressing the youngest of the eaters as she sits on his lap. Having to pause in lifting her blouse above her head in order to flip his cell, the tousled, dirtyhaired blonde dutifully obliges in carrying on with the removal of her upper body garments, bra included, as her companions attentions are drawn elsewhere.
Sure Lu. Someone will be right over. Don’t worry....’ the words spoken with total disinterest as he roughly palms a breast. ‘..we’ll sort it.’
Without a glance in the Scots direction, the burner is flipped shut and placed on the table alongside him. ‘Luanne has got some stalker problem at Cara.’
The gruff instruction given whilst Teller’s eyes remain firmly on the breasts infront is him. ‘...go sort it would ya, Chibs?’
A darting glance of interest has Chez’s hopeful expression now landing on a highly amused solider. The slightly bedraggled Scotsman beginning to rise from his chair, cigarette hanging from his lips as a light laugh sounds.
‘Aye. I see yer, Chezza. You an’ yer wee puppy eyes. Yer can come.’
That was all the young prospect needed. With another flash of glass to lips, a third measure of whiskey is fired back before snatching up the box of smokes that he’d laid on the bar. Replacing the glass for his keys.
“Sure thing, Chibs. That’d be awesome.”
‘Who knows. Maybe one o’these lassies might offer ye a wee blowie, in thanks for ridin’ in like a fool in tinfoil, ey?’
The two leather clad males leaving to a raucous round of laughter as they head outside towards the brilliant Californian sunshine and their awaiting bikes.
As they ready themselves to leave the lot, Chibs placing on his gloves, Chez puting the key in the ignition of his shitty Yamaha, not yet having earned his Harley, he enquirers as to why Luanne needed help.
‘I guess we’ll find out soon enough. Cannae be tha’bad, surely. Somethin’ aboot a stalker or some shite. Let’s go see, aye?’
With the roar of two ignitions lighting and kick stands being removed, further conversation comes to a halt as they head towards the film studios. Once there, a flurry of panicked screams and incoherent chittering reaches their hearing once the bikes have been silenced.
‘Well, looksie, here.’ Chez couldn’t help but notice the two motorcycles that had Mayans wrote all over them, not needing his older brother to make reference to them.
“What the fuck are they doing here?.”
Instantly his mind flashes back to the altercation between him, Tig, Taylor and the two Mexicans he shot. - Fuck.
As a look of careful agreement is expressed and acknowledged between the two males, they withdrew their weapons in symmetrical movements. Almost as if practiced.
Quickly motioning for Chez to enter via the side door, Chibs enters to the front.
Well practised in the art of making a surprise entrance, the two males enter at precisely the same time. Guns raised and fully loaded as Chibs calls out a cheery greeting.
‘Well then, what do we have ‘ere? Looks like a party we werne’ invited to, Chezzy.’
Calculating the risks as he readies his response, Chez locates two lone Mexicans. One with a pistol to Lyla’s head, the other holding Luanne to a makeshift bed with a throat choking hold.
“Most Fuckin’ rude.. bastards need taught some manners on how to treat women.”
The rage still burning from how they had kidnapped and mistreated Taylor, the younger brother could feel the red mist rising as he took in the scene before him. Was this a retaliation on their part?
The Mayans also were surveying the new surroundings and Chez visibly saw them panic. They had to execute caution, or one of the girls could quite easily end up being shot.
Having his eyeline meet with Lyla’s it’s obvious she’s been waiting to catch it. Signalling him downwards to the three fingers extended and splayed against her hip, the prospect clearly understood the gesture. A flashing glance to Chibs tells him he understands and is on board.
Causing a distraction being a special talent of his, he begins to talk utter shite as Chez returns Lyla’s instigation with single raised finger. That’s the count of one. Silently, they inwardly sound the following two numbers then as if in a practised synchronicity, the porn star and Opie’s old lady proceeds to lift a stilettoed heel to her captors shin, followed by a lightening strike of elbow to throat. Both of these momentarily drawing his attention from his loaded gun to her temple. That’s all Grazer needed. As Lyla ducks, the Mayan receives a shot to the upper chest.
One down.
The second was now fumbling to maintain a hold on Luanne and somehow get his gun. The porn director used this advantage to the best of her ability and shot off the bed like a spring. Diving for cover behind a bench and crawling in her hands and knees towards Chibs.
‘There’s another two through the back.. they took two of my girls.’
She spluttered out in a panic, eyes widened in fear, the Scot reassured her before turning to the prospect.
‘Keep an eye on ‘im. I’ll go see what’s happenin’ next door. Ye best call Clay an’ update him, an’all.’
“On it.”
With his colt trained on the now lone Mayan, who had his pointed towards Chez’s direction in return, his free hand flips the burner to make a sharp and extremely brief chat to the club leader.
Just as the phone snaps shut, Chibs reaches the door in which he is to manoeuvre through, only to have it burst open on him.
The remaining two Mexicans, come out all guns blazing.
“Fuck! Everybody down!” The yelled instruction unneeded as all the females flung themselves to the floor with banshee like shrieks as an assault of bullets sound around them.
As a near miss flew past his head, Chez’s patience finally snaps and he stands from where he was previously crouched, behind the makeshift till counter. His own shots managed to score a hit to an arm on one and a leg on another.
Given that they were now all edging towards the side door, two carrying the third with the wounded thigh, the prospect looked to the older male for silent instruction.
‘Let ‘em go, Chezza. If any of our lads are outside, they’ll see to ‘em sure enough.’
Once the Mayans have left the premises, Luanne begins to gather up the girls. Each of them checking the other’s welfare in a high keening pitch as they hug and pat one another down.
“What the hell were you thinking, Lu?”
Barely managing to hold his temper as the younger Grazer reholsters his gun.
‘They said they were fans.’ She began in a tone that still held a note of panic. Now in fear of upsetting the club.
‘...they paid $200 to come watch. Just for an hour. Then the bikers turned up and things got.. a bit out of hand.’
Somehow she managed to perform an expression full of innocent guilt on both the prospect and the Scotsman. ‘I’m really sorry, guys. Thanks for comin’ so quick. I don’t know what might’ve happened otherwise.’
All further conversations were cut short as a flustered Opie burst through the side entrance, gun held aloft. ‘LYLA!’
“It’s all cool, man. They’ve gone. She’s
Good.” Chez’s words of reassurance ringing around the softened wails and over emotional cries as the worried bear of a man is now cradling his petite old lady in his arms.
“She done good, Ope. Real good.”
Meeting the grateful look as the grizzly brother nods an expression of thanks his way, Chez feels a hardened pat to a shoulder.
‘So did you, son. Which just goes tae prove why the vote was unanimous.’
Suddenly feeling as if his heart was about to beat right out of its rib caged confines, Chez angled his face towards the voice.
“What...?”
‘We voted, lad. After the vote for the next run, Clay asked about your prospectin’. It should really be Tig or Clay tellin’ yea, but after tha’, I’m just gonna go ahead an’ say,
....welcome tae tha jungle, brotha!”

FINALLY managed to "fix" my problem, had to update the AMD Drivers apparently (???).
Game is running smoothly now, BUT the computer's fan is now kinda going to town on him, gaining its charateristic loud noise + burning temperature combo.
Had this been winter I wouldn't mind, I've spent many a year using my computer as free heating, but it's almost summer, I'll have yo counteract the effect with my AC now...
As a side note, finally started Legacy of the Dragonborn, started is a big word tho, I just got the ring(s) at Silent Moon Camp, the elemental defenses obe is kinda meh, but the Transmutation one is pretty good with my character for now, with the magicka and magicka regen buff.
Playing as Veronique Gawain (Which is, technically, a Breton Name? Mostly done to test the Lucien standard names, and guess what, he DOES call me Veronique at times!), Witch (obviously, only magic characters in my Skyrim).
She's distantly related of the current queen of Wayrest, the one we meet in TES Legends and we help ascend to the throne.
Her mother is the 3rd daughter of a noble currently going against King Barynia of Wayrest (Also from TES Legends), but is also his 4th cousin twice removed, and was particularly strict with his 4 daughters, trying to locate them onto advantageous positions within Wayrest and High Rock society.
Of the 4 daughters, the second ended up becoming a high ranking member of the Bretony Church, fighting tooth and nail against Barynia attempt to imperialize the faith via the Corrupt Order of the Hour. Watch out for her, she's important later.
Veronique's mother was supposed to marry into a political ally's family, to strenghten their bonds, but is not really into all this political intrigue thing, she'd be happier if they left her alone with her books and sone magic, trying to get back the arts that have been lost to time and the oblivion crisis...
But her father is a dick so she has to marry some dude, and Veronique's Mother, Armida the name, is still bummed about it, but thinks of a surefire way to get out of the whole deal.
So, Armida is weird, she's a weirdo, have you ever seen her without that stupid familiar on her shoulder? No. She also has, like, no friends, because she doesn't really have the time for it, too busy mixing potions and summoning dremoras and wondering why is their face so black Compared to their whole body.
Anyway, since noble life is a burden, and despite the fact she's gona miss her sisters, she decides to fake her death. She goes in the garden to "pick flowers," and prepares her death with a dusfigured body and some blood, skipping kingdom into Daggerfall.
There, she lives in peace for a couple years, even meets a kind young man, a classic Girl meets Ork tale, they become friends, her second friend after her wretched crow, much later she gives a try at the whole married life with him, she mostly appreciate the fact he seems completely fine with her hectic work hours and shit, it all goes fibe untill some of her father's men from Wayrest come into town and recognize her.
They assume the orc kidnapped her, so gather some racist bretons and the town guard, go to their witch cottage in the woods, break down the door in the night and set fire to it. Classic shit, Ork dies trying to stop them, never much for fighting or getting angry, Armida is brought back kicking and screaming to Wayrest, realizing later on she ended up gettinv pregnant by some weird twist of fate.
Her father expects her to get back into the old political intrigue life, but she doesn't, the taste of freedom too strong now, and not wanting for her daughter to become just another pawn, so she opens a portal to the Ashpit, as you do, PREGANANT to quote the sacred texts, and DEMANDS her hisband back to Malacath.
Malacath, god of outcasts, goes "Oh, Okay, sure, fine by me, I'm too old for this shit."
So, the Orc becomes the Green Knight, a spectral green knight guarding Armida for eternity, bond by undying devotion, and who gets pegged. He tears her father in half, her eldest sister becomes head of the household, poisons her own political husband, and takes control of the situation.
She gives free rein to Armida and her spectral husbando, who just locks up in her new mage tower and doesn't disturb anyone. They have Veronique, who is spoiled rotten by her grandmother, aunts and parents, and lives a long and happy childhood.
They survive the Pirate Attack of 4E 188 seemingly unscathed, the Order of the Hour and the Dark Brotherhood failing as a result, leaving the Bretony Chantry to fulfill the power vacuum. Veronique is interested in magic like her mother, but she has s passion for religion and lore, the tales of the knights, their ancestors, elven and men, their histories.
Most of all, she wants to live their adventures. She, much like Lucien, is a Nerd seeking answers away from home, seeking what their ancestors never managed to find, seeking...
The much fabled Grail of Bretony (Imperious Races Mod). Their ancestors died trying to bring the Grail back to Wayrest, but she will succeed where they failed.
Tales of its location have begun to crop up. Most of them indicate Skyrim, a province rich with unexplored ruins and deep lore, artifacts and myths, forgotten and cosmological magic, of ghosts and automatons...
The Second Sister, her favorite aunt, priestess of Mara, is however the only one who knows this. The family, her parents, only know she's going to Skyrim on a pilgrimage, to visit the temples of the 3 chief dieties of Northern Mythology, Kyne, Dibella and Mara, to get in touch with her human roots or some shit.
Her Aunt, however, is helping her in her quest. She will be escorted to Riften, to the temple of Mara, to get directions on how to acquire her favour, and where her escort will conveniently lose sight of her. Lady Mara has given her aunt a vision of a blue khajiit, hiding nearby, that will give his life for hers, a good, faithful bodyguard in her travels, and some lead on the position of the grail, sonewhere in Falkreath Hold, suggesting to check on the local tavern for clues.
There she meets Inigo, Lucien, and news of a museum, opening up in Solitude, seeking treasure hunters and explorers, the perfect way to gain some coin and have an excuse to seek out ancient artifacts and knoweledge...
But seeling knoweledge open many a door in someone's inner mind, and her relationship with the gods has always been... academical at best, so, when she started finding pages of strange books, peppered on the corpses of those who wish her harm, as forbidden knoweledge starts flooding her mind, she wonders nust who might be responsible for this, the sudden desire to snatch people bones and turn them into soldiers growing stronger...
And Herma-Mora waits, secure in his new, fallen disciple, and her skill in finding a way to get to him.
Also her mother bastard familiar is there for some reason, maybe she knew her daughter better than anyone and knee she was up to something, she doesn't mind even if her talons are kinda digging onto the flesh of her shoulder through her robes, BUT she helped her find her own familiar!
A specteal, demonic dog called Styx, a puppy, ready to grow into her own fierce protector, abandoned by her old master near the Lady's stone, another step in her journey.
(From Falkreath, she has gathered 4 doomstones where near, Lady and the 3 Guardians, and she assumed the Grail, given the historical importance of the sites, might be located near any of the 13 doomstones. She finds her Familiar and a Dilapidated old temple with some daedric and aedric altars instead).

New from Every Movie Has a Lesson by Don Shanahan: CAPSULE REVIEWS: The 2020 Academy Award nominees for Best Animated Short
Tumblr media
(Image: weliveentertainment.com)
They may not get much attention when they’re not made by Disney and not appearing in front of their animated tentpoles, but the artistry and creativity is alive and well in the field of animated short films.  This year’s five nominees for the 92nd Academy Award are some of the most stark and unique entries I’ve seen in the years I’ve been able to cover the annual best. Below are my capsule reviews of this year’s final five for Best Animated Short.  Naturally, my niche of life lessons are included. Like the documentaries and live-action shorts in other Oscar categories, the animated films are presently collected in a single program to watch on the big screen at Landmark Theatre locations nationwide, including the three venues here in Chicago.
HAIR LOVE
The most modern one, per se, of the field is this computer-animated chestnut from director (and Chicago native) Matthew A. Cherry.  This gem has climbed from a 2017 Kickstarter campaign to receiving its big screen chance in front of The Angry Birds Movie 2 last year and now an Oscar nomination.  It playfully and poignantly shines love on the entanglement and empowerment that comes from hairstyling black hair.
A precocious young girl with voluminous hair is scrolling through YouTube and watching instructional videos of a stylist (voiced by recent Oscar nominations reader Issa Rae of the upcoming film The Photograph) specializing in taming the untamed.  With the nodding consultations of her trusted pet cat, she lands on a look she wants.  When she tries it herself, it’s a disaster, much to the chagrin of her outmatched father.  Hair may be a woman’s specialty, but this dad become determined to pull off the look himself for his daughter and win the battle.
BEST LESSON: “MAKE THE JOURNEY WITH A LITTLE BIT OF WORK AND A WHOLE LOT OF LOVE”— This lesson is the send-off mantra of the featured YouTuber and it channels perfectly the adversity and attachment in the hair-styling and bonding process of Hair Love.  Connect the work to patience and connect the love to shared quality time with family.  The woman is wise and means more than we know to this father and daughter. Be ready for a crescendo.
Hair Love elevates from a shared father-daughter experience to even bigger family swells.  It also celebrates a unique black essence that not only brings people together, but lifts self-esteem.  It’s skill. It’s status. It’s self-efficacy. Matthew A. Cherry nails all that with a beautiful and vibrant presentation.
DAUGHTER
So often with even the best clay work from the likes of Aardman and Laika, we feel as though we’re watching a really nice diorama being shot.  Settings stay more static and fixed at wide shots to allow us audiences to soak in all the artistry. With that in mind, it impressive when something perceived as rudimentary can marvel our senses with underlying sophistication.  That is the effect of Daughter which takes intentionally smeared and crude sculpted claymation and lets the camera and audio foley swoop with incredible dexterity and detail.
A rescued bird from a window becomes a visual metaphor for a complicated and strained father-daughter relationship in this short film.  The father lies ill in the hospital while heart monitors break the silence between him and his daughter shuffling around the periphery of the room.  Memories manifest within the girl of other times where she tried to show affection and distant dreams where she imagined a different life, mask and all.
BEST LESSON: SAY SOMETHING— Plenty of animated shorts employ the dialogue-free style to let the visuals do the talking.  While that is indeed the case with Daughter, it’s also a bigger intentional meaning between the family members and their difficulties.  The silence between them is unhealthy and cannot be sustained. There is a rightful longing to say something and speak your feelings before the chances end and the people that need to hear them are gone.
All of these elements are masterfully created in this medium by Daria Kashcheeva, who wears the hats of writer, director, art director, DP, piano player, and more for this film.  The camera depth of these scenes is remarkable. The characters are commonly shot in close-up showing the literal and figurative imperfections within a sensory soundscape that is encapsulating.  Of the nominees, Daughter is the heaviest hitter for story and most challenging in design.  Bravo here!
KITBULL
Kitbull is the requisite Pixar entry for the Academy Award.  This cutie pie comes from their new SparkShorts division.  Written and directed by Rosana Sullivan, Kitball boasts, and pleasantly so, traditional 2D animated brilliance, which counts as a nice stylistic change of pace from the CGI juggernaut.
In platonic “Bennifer” name-combination fashion, this short features a little stray black kitten befriending a muscular white pitbull in their shared urban landscape of San Francisco’s Mission District.  The kitten makes its home inside a cardboard box behind a barbed-wire-strewn trash heap next to a garage. The big pooch is chained to a doghouse right outside the door. Both have their fears. Both have their flaws.  Both have their scars when it comes to trusting outside sources, even generosity given to them.
BEST LESSON: HELP A NEIGHBOR— This lesson could be called help a stranger, but it’s bigger than that when the stranger lives in proximity to you.  The cat witnesses the hardships of the pitbull and vice versa for the gruff dog watching the alleycat. They have their differences and their fears, but they show kindness and care to help someone in need.  It’s basic, beautiful, and effective for an animated short, which is par for the Pixar course.
This is Sullivan’s first directorial effort after years as a Pixar character designer for the likes of Piper, Incredibles 2, and The Good Dinosaur.  Without dialogue, the characters speak volumes with their body language and acts from every purr and pant to twitch and trot.  Animal lovers will find great joy. Likewise, there is much to be impressed by when it comes to the nearly abstract designs that lessen the tendency to hyper-detail in favor of letting the themes paint the picture.  Short or not, that is true to the fabled Pixar Punch.
SISTER
It’s a natural wish for a young child to want a companion at home.  Desiring a brother or sister brings the equally natural result of future sibling rivalry.  Ask any big brother or big sister and they’ll tell you how the ups outnumber the downs of that relationship.  Throw in some cultural notes and you have the lovely Annie Award nominee Sister from Chinese animator Siqi Song.
Save for a few items of colorful adornment, Sister is shot in black and white with animated stop-motion fabric dolls.  In dated chapter markers spanning the early 1990s, the narrator is the big brother observing the growth of his little sister.  Spanning the first five years of this little one’s life, the brother simultaneously celebrates and laments the turbulent life of getting along with a petulant little one.
BEST LESSON: WHAT SIBLINGS ADD TO LIFE— Those savvy in their international history will see those timestamps and know of the dreaded One-Child Policy that operated in China during that time.  Siblings were rare, frowned upon, and often, through sad and unfortunate measures, prevented. There are millions within multiple generations in China who never got to experience the closeness, both jovial and contentious, of having a sibling and the lift they bring to growing up.  That societal factor looms large over the truth and setting of Sister.
With that gravity in mind, the woulda-coulda-shoulda moments in Sister teeter gracefully between funny and touching.  Existence becomes the most powerful emotion of Song’s lovely and crushing short.  Dedicated to the siblings “we” never had, the animation is a strong testament of remembrance to a time of lost experiences.
MEMORABLE
Tumblr media
(Image: dia.org)
Texture is such a trait of all of these nominated animated shorts.  Most use it within their art to stand out or define purpose. Memorable incorporates its unique physical texture into its act as a thematic tool of questioning the clues and differences between dreams and memories.  This may start as a head-scratcher for many, but will soon hit with poignancy.
Elaborate opening credits creep over the grooves, ruts, and cracks of what will be the painted clay that makes these French environments and characters. In surreal ways, common objects around Louis (voiced by Andre Wilms of Le Havre) and his wife Michelle (voiced by Dominique Reymond) begin to defy their shapes and normal states. Time too seems to hop in these moments. Is the forgetful man seeing things or is it the whole world that has started to bend?
BEST LESSON: WHAT YOU RECOGNIZE AND WHAT YOU DON’T— If what Louis is experiencing in Memorable are the hazy flashes of a neuro-degenerative disease like Alzheimer’s, then recognition is the challenge. The spirit and humor of a person may not change, but memorized matches and connections will fail, making that personality out of touch and out of place from where it used to be.
The animation shifts are stunning in Memorable. With each passing action written and directed by Bruno Collet in his sixth short, the main character’s perception of both himself and his surroundings become subtly more dilapidated with the mounting cognitive loss. It’s a striking way of presenting the human and mental effects of such ailments.  Get your tissues ready.

The Art of Grandparenting

A seven-12 months-antique female stated about her grandmother: “She’s antique on the outdoor however she acts like she’s younger at the interior.” She hit the nail on the head!
Most of us older adults remain active nowadays with some of us nevertheless running into our seventies. Even the ones of us who retire at some stage in our sixties may also spend as tons as one-0.33 of our lives after retirement with our households sometimes encompassing even 5 generations.
By the center of this century as the “toddler boomers” are the elderly, the entire United States will resemble gift-day Florida in the percentage of the population composed of older adults. In 1790 much less than the percentage of the populace become over 65. In l990 that parent turned into twelve percent; by means of 2030, it will likely be over twenty percent.
Living longer method that extra people now lead 3 lives: first as youngsters, 2nd as adults with careers and maximum in all likelihood as mother and father, and 0.33 as retirees from careers – and for maximum people as grandparents. During every one of those lives, we continually find out and analyze new matters. We find sides of ourselves that we did not recognize existed. Our 0.33 existence is a time for discovering new skills and innovative possibilities in our internal worlds. It is a time for making use of the wisdom of a long time to ourselves. It is a time for discovering the full which means of existence and for making ready for the destiny, anything that can be.
The Art of Grandparenting
Being a grandparent approach to different things. Although grandparenting isn’t the dominant element of most of our lives, it is an issue that is greater essential than the maximum of us recognize. For some of us who are actively elevating our grandchildren, it’s far the maximum vital a part of our lives. Unfortunately, increasingly more we are doing just that today. Some people are estranged from our kids and from our grandchildren because of strife in our households. But maximum folks live a long way from our grandchildren and manipulate to maintain a lively role in their lives through the mail, the cellphone, and visits.
As grandparents, we have critical symbolic and realistic functions in our cultures. We are critical truly for what we mean like the oldest residing representatives of our families. We may be a matriarch or a patriarch for our households. Our roles as own family historians, mentors, and role fashions can confer status and recognize us.
Without grandparents, there may be no tangible circle of relatives line. Children who have had no contact with grandparents pass over knowledge in their ancestry. They may not be able to muster an assured sense of destiny as concretely represented via the reality that older humans have visible their futures end up the prevailing and the beyond.
The Art of Grandparenting
As grandparents, we are the links to the past in our families. We can recall while the dad and mom of our grandchildren have been young, not usually to their liking! We are the repositories of statistics approximately our genealogies (we are properly cautioned to document as an awful lot of that as we will). That information frequently will become beneficial cloth for topics that our grandchildren write in school, and on occasion, it flowers into full-fledged writing about our circle of relatives bushes.
As grandparents we can provide advice to our kids this is with a bit of luck liked. That is excellent done tactfully and whilst requested for! We can convey our households collectively and foster and hold communique among them. We can play healing roles in alleviating demanding situations, hurts, and disappointments in our households. In doing so we need to carefully keep away from stirring up problems, the ability for which particularly lies just below the floor in in-law relationships. We are the conveyers of traditions in our households and in our cultures.
We have plenty to provide our households and our groups. We are the humans who’ve been there. Whatever expertise is should lie in us. We can see through the posturings of our everyday world. We can identify with the lifestream and the cycles of human lifestyles. We recognize what virtually is essential and what isn’t. We understand that disappointments, heartaches, and pain are natural components of life. We know that life is going on without us. We have been a part of history and frequently have a hobby in mastering more about the beyond. We have seen sufficient to recognize that the entirety isn’t sensible and rational. We have had enough desires and life experiences to recognize that the paranormal may be more real than the rational. We have found out that something it’s miles – correct or bad – “it’ll pass.”
The Art of Grandparenting
If we were moderately sensible in the behavior of our personal lives, we’ve got attended to our bodily health and to our spiritual and emotional wishes. We know that our bodies age, that our minds fail, but that our inner I stays the equal at some stage in our lives. This is why we feel vintage in our bodies and minds however no longer in our spirits. This is why we without a doubt do now not sense that the picture within the mirror accurately displays who we are. We sincerely recognize that we may be antique at the outdoor but young on the inside. If we reflect on consideration on it, we are able to recognize that the prevailing moment in truth is the “everlasting now.” In order to sharpen the vitality of our lives, we are properly advised to manipulate our diets and to engage in everyday bodily exercise so that we will help our bodies serve us as well as is feasible and in order that we do no longer paintings in opposition to the efforts of our bodies to be healthy.
We also have the luxury of residing our lives greater or much less as we desire. We have more manipulate over our schedules because of the relinquishing of the obligations of the place of job. We have time to reflect and to enjoy the simple things in life. We can take time to understand the pleasures of certainly being alive. We can enjoy the clouds, the trees, the flora, and the odor of the air. We can also devote our time and energy to assisting folks that are less lucky. Most importantly we will relive and resolve the past in our reminiscences and reveries. Beyond is a part of our lives these days. We understand what it appears like to lapse into the beyond as if it’s miles the present. Our storehouse of recollections leads most of us to relinquish the desire to live our lives all over again.
We gain profound meaning in existence from the affection and recognition of our juniors. The attachment between grandparent and grandchild is 2nd in emotional power only to the bond between parent and child. The arrival of a grandchild commonly triggers a dormant intuition to nurture in us. This is observed by using joy in the birth or adoption of our grandchild; by means of recalling our personal reviews as a determine and as a grandchild and with the aid of thoughts about the continuity of our very own lives in the subsequent generation.
Our grandchildren have an awful lot to provide us as we should offer them. We can enjoy pleasures with them without the obligation of rearing them. The love and attention we provide them build their vanity. Their hobby in our organization and in our testimonies reminds us of our importance to our households. We offer each different the feel of belonging now not handiest to our families however to the human own family.
The Art of Grandparenting
As grandparents and as senior citizens, we’re gaining a growing amount of electricity in our society not simplest in the political arena but within the ethical management of our society. We in reality do have a whole lot to provide despite the fact that there may be a tendency to disparage the elderly. This is not the truth inside the power systems of our society, but, to wit the range of humans of their seventies and eighties in political office. We can advise for the hobbies of the aged, no longer handiest of our own but of those people who are subjected to elder ageism and abuse. But most importantly we’re privy to the interests and desires of future generations. We are in a function to be powerful advocates for kids and mothers and fathers. Because we are not motivated by means of advocacy for youngsters that surely is advocacy for adults, we will sincerely endorse the hobbies of youngsters.
As grandparents, we are essential resources for our households. But the artwork of grandparenting calls for commitment, expertise, exercise, and perseverance. We can provide approval, loving satisfaction of our grandchildren, and reliable help for our very own offspring. We are the hyperlink between the beyond and the present and even the destiny! It is thru our grandchildren that we and humanity itself glide inside the movement of life.
The logician Robert Nozick stated it nicely:
We all may seriously weigh spending our penultimate years in endeavors to gain others — in adventures to improve the motive of fact, goodness, splendor, or holiness — not going gentle into that true night or raging in opposition to the demise of the light, however, near the cease, shining our mild maximum brightly.

Great Gifts for Boys Ages 5-8
This post contains affiliate links. This means I receive a small commission (at no extra cost to you) if you purchase using them. Please read my Disclaimer Policy for more information.
Are you looking for a great birthday or holiday gift for boys around the age of five to eight years old? Do you have a nephew or little boy turning 5-8 years old soon? Are you having trouble figuring out what to get for him?
Whether it’s for her birthday, special event, or holiday, there are certain gifts that are always a winner amongst this age group of boys.
As a babysitter for two boys in this age group and my nephew Jayden, who’s now 6 years old, I can say with most certainty that these toys are all winners with this age group.
As a woman, it’s a little hard to tune into the little boy mentality. However, if you just step back and watch how boys play, it’s easier to get a feel for what they might like. Boys like physical and interactive things.
In general, boys love things with moving parts, where you can see physical reactions and get results.
By five years old they’ve grown out of their preschool toys, and now they’re ready for big boy toys. They still want to play, but not with anything that they deem to be “baby” toys. It doesn’t mean that they don’t want to play with toy cars and balls, but they don’t want toys that light up and make noises like the ones for toddlers.
Legos are great, but what else is out there??
So what do you buy for your boy who’s now turned into a big boy overnight? Here’s the list of toys that I’ve gotten for boys ages 5-8 years old that are played with regularly.
Here’s a list of Jayden’s Favorite Toys!
Pokemon Cards
Have you heard of Pokemon? These are trading cards that are used to “battle” your opponent. It’s almost like playing the traditional card game of War combined with fantasy sports.
Some kids want the cards just to collect them and others want to learn to play the game. I learned the best way to play the game with them is to allow them to teach you.
Though it’s not necessary for you to play Pokemon with the kids, it’s a good bonding opportunity for you both. It shows them that you have an interest in their life. Taking time out to learn something new with them is a great way to show your love and affection.
If you want to brush up on your Pokemon skills, here’s a helpful resource.
You get 100 cards in this set plus 7 foil cards. You have to have at least 60 to play the game competitively. This is the best option because booster sets cost about $5 each. For the price, it’s worth starting here!
Note that there may be duplicates in this set.
Check them out on Amazon:
Pokemon Cards
Nerf Gun
Nerf guns are either a love or hate it item. I happen to love them, and so do the boys.
You’re not teaching them to hurt other people, you’re allowing them to explore their imagination and learn boundaries. There are certain rules that you can put in place with these guns. Such as, no pointing guns at anyone’s face, when someone says stop, stop, and apologize if you hurt someone. Kids are going to get hurt. It’s part of growing up.
I like this gun because of its size. It’s easily manageable and not too heavy which makes running around with it during a nerf war doable for kids.
Don’t let the size deceive you. This gun packs power! The darts can shoot up to 90 feet!
Comes with 6 Official Nerf Elite darts that are designed for distance, tested and approved for performance and quality, and constructed of foam with flexible, hollow tips
Rotating barrel flips open for easy dart loading and is hand-powered
No batteries needed!
Both of nephews, Jayden and Julian love their nerf guns. I suggest buying more than one. Even if they don’t have a sibling to play with, you can join in on the fun by being their opponent.
I also recommend to load up on darts! Unfortunately, nerf darts are easy to lose or become damaged over time. 200 is a good point to start with and it’s not going to break the bank.
Check them out on Amazon:
Nerf Gun
Refill darts
Beyblade
No, Beyblades aren’t actual blades!
Beyblades are spinning tops that “break” upon impact.
Beyblade battles take place with two to four players. Each opponent puts their Beyblade on a launcher the ripcord. You then aim them over the Beystadium, and start the Beyblade battle with, “3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!”
The beyblades then spin in the stadium and once they collide, once, twice, or even three times one beyblade will “explode” and break into pieces (they go back together).
I found that it takes a little practice to get the launching right. It’s a little tricky and I got mine stuck a few times and I even broke a nail. However, it’s a lot of fun and no two battles are ever exactly alike.
It’s a good idea to buy the complete kit with the Beyblades and the stadium (the plastic container). The beys spin rather fast and could cause some minor damage (dents or scratches) to walls if you play with it outside of the beystadium.
Check it out on Amazon:
Beyblade
Grossery Gang
The Grossery Gang is a parody from the Shopkins line.
The grosseries are collectible figures that are groceries and foods that have gone bad. There are more than 150 Grosseries to collect including Putrid Pizza, Dodgey Donut, Shoccoli, Rotten Egg and more!
You can buy just the figures, which vary by season. The season just means the figures that they have come up with for that period of time. Each new season has different characters with new funny expressions and names.
However, I recommend stepping it up a notch, and getting them two toys in one, which is the Grossery Gang figures and Truck. The kids can launch their grosseries with the built-in spring-loaded catapult.
There’s also fold down doors which can store the collectibles and action figures to go along for a ride or just kept their when they’re not in play.
The truck doesn’t come with many collectible figures, but there are enough to get the party started so to speak.
Though grosseries are pretty soft, I wouldn’t recommend playing with the catapult a room that has anything breakable. It could hit something and make it fall from a shelf.

Hot Wheels Crash Track
My nephew LOVES this toy. It has four intersecting crash zones and a car feeder ramp. So you have multiple cars driving on the tracks at the same time. The total excitement with this toy is you’ll never know if the race will lead to the cars passing each other with near misses or end in a total 4 car pile up.
4 D batteries required
This toy is a lot of fun to play with, even my niece was interested and she’s more of a doll girl. However there are some things to note before buying.
Customers have complained about the noise level of this toy. When the motor is running, it makes noise, but it’s keeping the kids entertained, so that’s the tradeoff.
Second, you must read the directions while assembling the tracks. It matters and if you don’t put it together correctly, you’ll think the toy is broken when indeed it’s not!
Third, once the toy is put together, it is a little bulky. And if you decided to take it apart and put to back together at a later date (never my thing), make sure you’re careful with the pieces. Replacement parts are not sold sepearately.

Crayola Light-up Tracing Pad
Art is a favorite pass time in my family. My nephew Jayden loves to draw, color, and craft. It’s not always easy for children to simply see a picture and replicate it, though some can.
We often turn to Arthub on YouTube to draw pictures, but sometimes kids need some independent and screen free time.
This Crayola light up tracing pad is great for kids to be independent and creative and the time.
I have a light board myself, and I use it often especially to perfect any line drawings that I make. It’s so convenient, love it!
This tracing pad kit includes:
Coloring Board
Graphite Pencil (artist’s pencil)
12 Short Colored Pencils
10 Tracing Sheets
10 Blank Sheets
Requires 3 AA batteries (not included)
You don’t have to use the templates included in the box. Kids can trace anything because the light board just provides enough light to the paper so that the outlines can be seen and traced. You can make your own pictures and have kids trace them, or they can improve their artwork and handwriting skills by going over it with a fresh piece of paper.
Some people thought the light wasn’t bright enough, but ours works great.
Check it out on Amazon:
Make sure to watch the video!
Crayola Light-up Tracing Pad
Boxer
I had never heard of Boxer before this Christmas, but he was on my nephew’s list and it wound up being his favorite toy this year so I’m glad we got it.
Boxer is an A.I. (artificial intelligence) robot. Right out of the box he’s ready to play with via remote control. But he’s not just any robot, he has different functions. He has 4 different modes: app mode, remote mode, play mode, and card scan mode.
He’s small and cute. While he’s rolling around he’ll say things like “bee bop” and other noises which grabs the kids attention. But he’s not just a remote control toy.
You can switch him to card mode where he scans comes with a ball to play 10 different games such as Bot Bowling, Paddle Bot, and soccer. He can sense your hands and feet and will respond to them.
You can also download an app for more games, but we haven’t explored that yet.
I found that he didn’t move that fast on the carpet. He was much better at on the hardwood floors.
Some people complain about his size (he’s pretty small), but he can do a lot for his size and it’s a toy that doesn’t just take up space without anyone ever touching it. I think Boxer is great, and Jayden agrees!
Check it out on Amazon:
Boxer
Of course there are also FREE gifts that can go along with these toys.
Try writing her a letter. It’s a gift that they can hold on to forever. Loving words are never outgrown!

This 1954 Ford F-100 Blends Classic Looks with Performance
Growing up in the rural town of Pittsfield, New Hampshire, Gef Freese was enamored with many of the farm vehicles he would come to bond with throughout his youth. Wheeling his neighbor’s tractors and trucks while doing chores on the farm, one particular 1947 Ford dump truck garnered his attention on a regular basis while being both utilitarian and fun to drive at the same time.
As the years passed he spent plenty of time with his sister’s older friends since they would regularly buy old cars, hop them up, and street race them on the weekends. At the same time he would also spend plenty of time hanging out with his dad who was also deep into the car hobby by helping him detail the family’s daily drivers. Anyone who was ever involved with plastic kit models knows that one of the most fun aspects was modifying them with accessory parts from other kits to create neat custom models. Gef spent plenty of time at the kitchen table doing just that, obviously paving a way for his appreciation of customizing.
When he got his license the future was packed with plenty of cool rides, including a number of Corvettes and truck. Somehow, though, something was missing. With a deep appreciation for classic trucks he made a decision to look for one that was minted on the assembly line the year he was born. It had to be a Ford F-100 so he started a search locally.
If you’re from New Hampshire and into hot rods and customs it’s easy to follow a path to Traditional Speed and Custom located in Pittsfield. Gef scheduled a meeting with shop owner Eli English to see if he could lend a hand in finding his elusive unicorn, and it wasn’t long till Eli sourced a clean 1954 Ford F-100 in North Carolina. After completing the deal the truck was shipped to the shop for evaluation. Basically, it was a clean, amateur restoration that would be a perfect base to start with. Gef’s ideas for the build outlined a very subtle F-100 with razor-sharp lines, a cool stance, and plenty of venom underhood. To bring the sketchpad of ideas to life Eli contacted e.Black Design and spoke with Eric Black to outline the concept for him to create a rendition from incorporating a myriad of subtle changes to the truck. It’s a difficult line to walk when you choose to enhance the form of an iconic pickup truck, especially one as revered as a 1954 Ford F-100. From every angle the model exudes visual elements, immediately making it recognizable as a true classic. Black nailed the look and once the design was received, it was time to start the build.
For a rock-solid base Eli contacted Art Morrison Enterprises to special-order a perimeter frame with a 124-inch wheelbase (6 inches over stock) along with a number of AME suspension components. Once received the team got busy by adding custom body mounts and rear crossmember along with incorporating the original Ford front crossmember. Out back a Winters Performance quick-change spins 3.78:1 gears through 31-spline Dutchman axles and is suspended in place by an AME four-bar combined with a custom sliding wishbone track bar and a JRI hydraulic ride system with 3 inches of height adjustment. For the ultimate in handling an AME IFS with tubular upper and lower control arms, 2-inch dropped spindles, and an adjustable sway bar was deftly matched to a JRI hydraulic ride system. When there’s a need to stop a Wilwood Engineering power dual master pushes fluid through NiCopp lines to matching 14-inch drilled and vented discs out back with six-piston calipers and 13-inch units up front. To add an aggressive look a set of big ’n’ little Vintage Wheels 427 Pin Drive–series wheels wear low-profile Nitto rubber.
There’s nothing quite like searing performance in your classic truck and for this Gef went straight to the head of the class by contacting Roush Performance for one of their exclusive 427 IR crate V-8 engines. Fully dyno-tested to produce 560 hp it’s packed with a speed shop full of go-fast goods, starting with an iron four-bolt main block that’s filled with a forged steel crank spinning matching H-beam rods topped with forged aluminum pistons. Plenty of thump comes from a Roush Performance cam while a set of their custom CNC-ported aluminum heads make plenty of power, especially when urged by an eight-stack, Weber-styled EFI system. It all sparks to life through an MSD ignition and dumps spent gases through a set of custom Sanderson headers to a 3-inch stainless exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. The goods move through a TREMEC T56 trans equipped with a McLeod dual-disc clutch to a custom aluminum driveshaft from Inland Empire Driveline.
Weaving a blend of subtle enhancements to the cab and bed to make them look like they came from the factory takes plenty of expertise and experience. This is where the team at Traditional Speed and Custom, including Eli, Keith Belgard, and Ryan Jutras brought Black’s vision to life. To start, the roof was chopped 1 inch above the windshield (allowing for a stock windshield) followed by the cab and doors being stretched 2 inches and the cowl side vents being filled. The wheel openings on the front fenders were then moved forward 4 inches, complemented by the rear wheel opening being moved 1 inch back along with the bed being shortened 2-inches and channeled 1-inch over the frame with the cab while also stretching the running boards. Out back a set of hand-formed wheeltubs make room for larger rubber while underhood you’ll find a smoothed stock firewall accented by a custom-fabbed radiator shroud and filler panels with custom inner fenders. This is just a hint of all of the subtle changes made to the sheetmetal. From there the team completely metal-finished the cab and bed, set all the gaps, and prepped it for a mile-deep coating of Nason Fleet Red from Ryan’s spray gun, bringing it all to life.
To bring an equal amount of allure inside the doors were first fabricated to flow gracefully into the factory dash, which features a full compliment of dials from Classic Instruments. Steering moves through a 1964 Ford F-250 4×4 wheel linked to a stainless column from Johnny Law Motors with shifts by Lokar while cool breezes flow from custom-fabbed vents thanks to a unit from Old Air Products. Mobile Electronic Solutions of Belmont then added perfect tunes with a system incorporating a Diamond Audio amp, head unit, and subwoofer with Rockford Fosgate speakers. A Painless Performance Products wiring system ties it all together, thanks to work from Eli and Coti Sanders. During the reassembly process team member Bill Connors also spent countless hours tending to the final finishing work. The final icing came from Petter Davidsen of Hampton Falls who covered the original bench and all new panels with yards of supple tobacco-toned leather in a vintage roll and pleat pattern. Complementing square-weave carpeting completes the interior. This F-100 raises the bar with its fusion of color and subtle modification combined with road-searing power, and we can’t wait to see it hit the streets.

Family of alleged Texas school shooter says they are ‘shocked and confused’
Watch Video
SANTA FE, Texas — The family of the 17-year-old boy accused of killing 10 people at a Texas high school Friday issued a statement expressing condolences to the victims.
Dimitrios Pagourtzis’ family members said they are “as shocked and confused as anyone by these events that occurred.”
This photo provided by the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office shows Dimitrios Pagourtzis, who law enforcement officials took into custody Friday, May 18, 2018, and identified as the suspect in the deadly school shooting in Santa Fe, Texas, near Houston. (Galveston County Sheriff’s Office via AP)
Dimitrios Pagourtzis is a “smart, quiet, sweet boy,” they said.
A day after a school shooting in southeastern Texas left 10 dead and 13 others injured, the city of Santa Fe focused on mourning and recovery, as the area’s congressman said residents “will pull together” like they did after Hurricane Harvey months ago.
“We will grieve together, we will love one another, we will work together. We did it after Harvey — still doing it after Harvey,” US Rep. Randy Weber told reporters Saturday afternoon, referring to the storm that ravaged the Houston area in late August. “We’ll do it after this.”
“We will get through this,” he said.
Police say Dimitrios Pagourtzis, 17, used a shotgun and a revolver to shoot students and teachers at Santa Fe High School on Friday morning.
Pagourtzis told an investigator he acted alone and spared people he liked because he wanted his story told, a probable cause affidavit says.
On Saturday evening, a vigil for the victims is scheduled to be held on the other side of Houston, in the community of Spring.
One of the students who was killed was Jared Black, who turned 17 this week and was supposed to have a birthday party Saturday. A family friend told CNN his family learned of his death about 13 hours after the shooting.
Houston Texans star defensive end J.J. Watt has offered to pay the funeral expenses for victims of the massacre, according to a spokeswoman for the NFL team.
The Santa Fe school district will close its schools Monday and Tuesday, officials said — but students and staff are slowly being allowed to collect their belongings from part of the the high school.
Officers were escorting people back to the campus Saturday in groups of 10 to collect things such as valuables, keys and vehicles, school district Police Chief Walter Braun said. Fifty had returned to the school by the afternoon.
Pagourtzis was held without bail and is accused of capital murder of multiple people and aggravated assault on a public servant. Nine students and one teacher were killed, a law enforcement official told CNN.
Pagourtzis said little during a video court appearance Friday, answering, “Yes, sir,” when asked whether he wanted a court-appointed attorney. He was not asked to enter a plea, and bond was denied.
A shotgun and a .38 revolver
The gunfire at Santa Fe High School, not far from Houston in southeastern Texas, started Friday morning. The alleged shooter used a shotgun and a .38 revolver legally owned by his father, Gov. Greg Abbott told reporters.
Gunfire erupted at the school not long after classes began around 7:30 a.m. local time, officials said.
Two school resource officers were on the campus and confronted the shooter, Abbott said.
Authorities later found explosive devices — including pipe bombs and pressure cookers — in and near the school, a law enforcement official said.
Henry told reporters that the suspect had devices but none were functional. One was a pressure cooker with an alarm clock and nails, but no explosive material. Authorities also found an unlit Molotov cocktail, he said.
Investigators on Friday searched a trailer where they believe the devices were assembled, a law enforcement source said.
Investigators believe Pagourtzis acted alone, a law enforcement official told CNN on Saturday.
Earlier, Abbott and other officials indicated that two other people were being interviewed to see whether they were involved. But authorities now believe those two were not connected to the crime, the official said.
Exchange student among those killed
The victims killed included a Pakistani exchange student, Sabika Sheikh; student Chris Stone, 17; and a substitute teacher, Cynthia Tisdale.
The people hospitalized included retired Houston police Officer John Barnes, who served as a resource officer at the school.
Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo tweeted Friday afternoon that he had visited Barnes in the hospital, and the retired officer was “hanging in there.”
Barnes was in critical condition, the University of Texas Medical Branch said Saturday.
What we know about the shooting
This is the 22nd US school shooting so far this year, and the third instance in eight days in which a gunman was on a school campus.
Gunshots in an art room, and a fire alarm
A student, Damon Rabon, said he was in class when he heard a loud bang next door.
“We thought maybe someone was banging on the shop door or maybe something fell,” the senior said. Rabon said he followed his teacher, who went to investigate.
They heard three more bangs and saw the shooter come out of an art room.
“At this point we knew this was … really happening to us,” Rabon said.
They went back into their classroom and told others to help barricade the door.
A substitute teacher, David Briscoe, said he was teaching an English class when he heard screaming and gunshots, then a fire alarm.
Not knowing where the shooter was, he barricaded his classroom door with tables and desks, turned off the lights and told his students to get down. He told CNN he could hear someone outside the room groaning, apparently injured.
“It felt like hours before we got out of the school, but one of my students said it was 30 to 45 minutes,” Briscoe said. “I had around 10 to 15 students and I’m grateful they were safe.”
Angelica Martinez, 14, told CNN that an alarm sounded, as well as gunfire. She and her schoolmates at one point were evacuated “like it’s a fire drill.”
“We were all standing (outside), but not even five minutes later, we started hearing gunshots,” she said. “And then everybody starts running, but, like, the teachers are telling us to stay put, but we’re all just running away.”
“I didn’t see anybody shooting, but, like, (the gunshots) were kind of spaced,” Angelica said, adding she heard about four shots.
Another student, Dakota Shrader, told CNN affiliate KPRC that she heard gunshots after the alarm blared.
“I was in the history hallway, and as soon as we heard the alarms, everybody just started leaving, following the same procedure as … (a) practice fire drill,” Shrader said, breaking into tears. “And next thing you know, we just hear … three gunshots, loud explosions, and all the teachers are telling us to run.”
Police chief ‘hit rock bottom’
Acevedo said he was “not ashamed to admit I’ve shed tears of sadness, pain and anger” after the shooting.
“I know some have strong feelings about gun rights, but I want you to know I’ve hit rock bottom,” he said in a Facebook post, adding he would “de-friend” anyone who posted anything about “guns aren’t the problem.”
President Donald Trump addressed the school shooting, saying that mass shootings have been “going on too long.”
“Unfortunately, I have to begin by expressing our sadness and heartbreak over the deadly shooting at Santa Fe High School in Texas,” Trump said. “This has been going on too long in our country. Too many years. Too many decades now.”
Trump said federal authorities are coordinating with local officials.
“We grieve for the terrible loss of life and send our support to everyone affected by this absolutely horrific attack,” Trump said.

Talking To Spirits Via Pendulum
Tumblr media
A lot of people seem to have issues using pendulums to get specific answers, to identify a spirits species or to find out things about who they are or how they look so here are some basic questions that can be answered with yes no or maybe. Honestly this is all just like playing that game Guess Who.
What Are You
Are you a ___? : pretty basic just go down the list of all the things you can think of until you either run out or get a yes.
EX: Demon, Angel, Vampire, Werewolf, Shapeshifter, Hellhound, Harpy, etc
Are you more animal like? (Dragons, hounds, etc)
Are you more humanoid?
Are you a human spirit?
Are you a Death related spirit ?? (Dullahan, Grim, Reaper, Banshee, etc)
Are you an elemental spirit? (fire, earth, water, air, ice, snow, lightning)
^^this is usually a subcategory. For example if you get water and faerie you are looking for a species of fae connected to water
Are you connected to a specific religion or culture
If yes specify which and then go through the list? religion? Abrahamic? Culture? Irish??
This is where shit get touchy so be respectful of other cultures and their spirits okay?
Are you something I already work with?
For spirit workers with a large spirit family this could be helpful
If you get a maybe it likely means that they are but a different type. Say you get a maybe and when you go through the types of spirits you work with you get a maybe for vampire. They are likely a different type of vampire than the one you already work with
Is you’re species one well known / known at all by humans?
Yes this does happen, and yes it complicates things a bit

Are you older than 100?
Ask in large intervals until you start to get more specific. ‘are you over 100?’ YES ‘over 200?’ NO ‘Over 150′ NO ‘Over 130′ Yes ‘over 140′ NO  ‘I31 ‘NO ‘132′ NO ‘133′ YES , boom now you know their age in human years.

Basically the same as the age one but with height ‘are you over 5ft’ Yes ‘Over 6ft’ NO ‘5′5?’ YES
