moth and compass! the project I've been working on with @natdrinkstea this year-and-some!!

I believe I've introduced our dramatis personae — Moth, an Inquisitive Young Protagonist; Goodfellow, a Ghost; Luna, a Lighthouse-Keeper; and Peregrine, an Ordinary Cat — a few times before, but I still don't think we've every really talked about the story!

and that is because it has taken. quite some time to actually figure out what Goeth On in moth and compass proper. it's a mystery-fantasy, that'll probably be best told as a scrapbook or a puzzle game or a thing along those lines*, and a somewhat purposefully-nostalgic ghost story. it's everyday magic and the haunted sea and learning to look beyond what you think is there and bubblegum pop road trips and creepy creatures in the shadows and the kind of navigational equipment that, if you use it just right, might take you places you'd never otherwise be able to see...

What's the kind of weather you most enjoy and why?

Okay so this is gonna sound really weird lol but I was born in Florida and grew up there until I moved out of state when I was 14. So for a good chunk of my life I was VERY used to mild winters and it being like 70 degrees outside when Christmas rolled around.

Fast forward to now. It’s been over ten years and I STILL get giddy when it’s that perfect 70 outside and breezy. My brain goes “It’s fucking Christmas weather baby!!” even tho it’s the middle of September LMAO

There’s just that bit of nostalgia peppered in. The weather has started to cool down here so I’ve been catching that familiar feeling more often now :’)

Male roe deer/rådjur, known as bucks, have relatively small antlers that they shed every year. The antlers begin to develop in late fall. The bucks grow a dense layer of fur, called velvet, over their antlers. This furry covering serves multiple purposes. Firstly, it helps to insulate the antlers, keeping them warm in the cold winter months. Additionally, the velvet contains blood vessels that supply vital nutrients and oxygen to the growing antlers. As spring arrives, the male roe deer undergo a remarkable transformation. With the onset of the mating season, testosterone levels surge, triggering a series of physiological changes. One significant change is the shedding of the velvet from their antlers. This process is essential for the antlers to harden and reach their full size and strength. The mating itself takes place in July-August, and soon after that, the bucks lose their antlers, and the cycle begins again. Värmland, Sweden (February 17, 2024).

Happy Thanksgiving! I don’t remember if I mentioned this here, but my daughter and her husband and Bristol, my baby grandson are unexpectedly coming home for Thanksgiving and I couldn’t be more excited! We haven’t all been together for Thanksgiving in 4 years!

I spent yesterday morning shopping with all three grandsons! It was so much fun and a little wild! I wanted them to have matching Christmas outfits for pictures because we won’t all be together for the holidays! After shopping, I finished up most of the cooking for today…allI have left to make is an oyster casserole (Baldy’s favorite and a fennel salad that I think will be a delicious balance to all the richness of the meal!

I hope you all have an amazing Thanksgiving Day and find countless things to be grateful for! I am so grateful for everyone who reads my meanderings here on Crazy Blonde Life! You all mean more to me than I can possibly describe! Thank you!

And now…about this look! This look is so me! I do love the balance of a masculine look softened by puff shoulders, pearls, and the fishnet knee highs make me happy! I pulled together closet essentials - a camel coat, off white turtleneck sweater, black leather pants, a black crossbody and loafers! The coat could be any length, and the pants could be faux leather, but these pieces are workhorses that will carry you through seasons of outfits and…they can be mixed and matched endlessly! I threw in the fishnet knee highs for fun and for warmth!

I’ve linked similar pieces below! I have no idea why I can’t find this exact coat to link because it’s new, but I can’t find it. Luckily, there are plenty of great camel coats out there so there are several in the boutique below!

About your language brainrot. I see your "Reader's writing can't match tyvat's long and flowery writing" and bring you "Tyvat isn't used to books over 50 pages long so a short story to the Reader is a whole dictionary to tyvat readers".

Seriously, have you seen how thin the books are? They don't wrote novels, they write short chapters formatted in the way really old stories are. As in, summarizing all the events down into one smooth story then adding a few quotes. Fanfiction writers are insane. They will willingly sit down and write hundreds of words at a time. To them, a proper modern day story of maybe, oh 10k words or so, would probably be like the Oddessy itself.

If we were to combine the two headcanons. It would end up as many historians being intimidated by this insanely long written scripture in the language of the forgotten.

I'm going to take this a step further and say that if the creator asked some people to proofread their things, it would establish a hiarchy of who is able to actually finish the book the creator read and who isn't.

Venti also can surprisingly drunkenly ramble the entirety of at least one of ur stories, like, word for word lmao
