Hanging Round Signs
Tumblr media
Here are a couple of hanging signs I meant for Day 12 of my Simblreen but I kept making the same mistake over and over again when I was repo-ing the ceiling sign. It's all good now, and a week late. But fear not, there is a Thanksgiving batch of recolors, too. Yippee. Comes with four sets of recolors - all are in the download.
Tumblr media
Set 1 (above) are Harvest and Fall themed signs. Set 2 (below) is a smaller set of six textures on plain background and wood background. The two witch designs could work all year round.
Tumblr media
Set 3 is the Halloween set in the download. Lots of textures on plain or Halloween-ish colored wood backs
Tumblr media
Some of those will work year round, as well. Last set, is for Thanksgiving and Harvest :
Tumblr media
Sorry I didn't get these posted before Halloween came and went, but I wanted it done right. Swatches included, files compressed. The ceiling hanging sign is centered on the tile so that you can have it hanging away from walls and is the repo.
Download.

Family portrait.  I caught this shot of these two sharing a tree trunk but a few hours later when I walked by something had eaten them, probably a deer.

One elderberry bush a few miles away is very late in ripening. They're usually done in August!
We drove the truck up to the apple trees on top of the ridge this morning. The apples were gorgeous. The burrs I got all over my clothes while picking them, not so highly appreciated.
Tumblr media
That's about thirty pounds of apples, and two little clusters of wild grapes that are almost-but-not-quite ripe.

Today's harvest from our square foot garden - we had a pretty good rain this morning so it was time to pick everything before the tomatoes split. Gonna make marinara sauce tonight and freeze it!
Just froze five apple pie fillings and barely made a dent in the massive apple and pear harvest. More apples to come in the next 10 days!
I would say that square foot gardening has been a big success, even without using "Mel's Mix" raised bed soil. Chicken manure, greensand, agricultural lime, dried/ground banana peels and crushed eggshells works very well as an organic fertilizer. With just three raised beds in the parking hellstrip and a fourth where our useless front "lawn" had been, we ate very well this summer. We minimized damage from the July heat dome with old bedsheets (on the garden and the south/west facing windows.)
One other thing I could really recommend is using red mulch covering the soil under the tomatoes and peppers. Really reduced the effort while upping the yield.
(Not pictured: three adorable pumpkins!)

Todays activity took me to the garden. I sowed some more seeds for the fall - radish, lettuce, and carrots for the third time.
Apparently carrots don’t germinate in temps over 80 degrees. I didn’t find that out until after the second attempt.
I’ll probably do a last harvest of my tiny peppers and giant basil this weekend and then take them out and maybe plant something else for the fall.
Oh and I accidentally grew some pumpkins from the ones I chucked out back last year 🎃
