I ❤️ Penguins 🐧 Where are they?
The cutest little animal in the world has to be the penguin. Don't you wish you could visit them? In this post I share all about the penguins and where you can find them.
The first time I saw a penguin wasn’t in Antarctica. Is that a surprise? I thought they were only found in Antarctica. The opposite may be actually true. Despite there being millions of penguins in Antarctica they are not endemic to Antarctica, but instead found in the countries that border the icy continent all the way up to Galapagos at the equator. I wasn’t expecting to see Penguins in South…

St Kilda's Pier
I loved St Kildas Pier! It was the first place I went to when I landed in Melbourne and a great opportunity to see wild penguins up close! Currently it's closed to refurbishment and the plans for the revamped pier look amazing.

Quick Facts
St Kilda’s Pier is home to Fairy Penguins (also known as blue penguins)
The pier was construced in the 1800’s, with the addition of the breakwater added in 1956 for the Melbourne Olympics.
After the historic kiosk burnt down in 2003, it was rebuilt using the original plans from 1904.
Before I departed for my Australian adventure, I bumped…

Hey, folks. Cerebos: The Crystal City and Costume Fairy Adventures are 50% off for itch.io's Creator Day Sale. The preceding link leads to a bundle containing everything that's on sale, but you can also get the same discount on each item individually by clicking through to it.
Cerebos is a surrealist travelogue game written by Zach Welhouse (and edited by me) about a group of amnesiac travellers riding a train to the titular Crystal City, with plenty of strange stops along the way.
Costume Fairy Adventures, meanwhile, is one of the earliest games I worked on from back in 2013; it's about, well, fairies. In costumes. Having adventures. (Look, I freely admit it's not a creative title.)
If you've ever been terribly curious to check out either one, now's your chance. All of my smaller games (Radical Catgirl Anarchy, Olaf Hits the Dragon with his Sword, Jellyfish Felonies, Sinister Hovering Orb, and To Serve) are already pay-what-you-want, so there's no sense putting them on sale, but they are included in the "100% of all sales go to the creator" thing that's running today, so if you just happened to pay what you want today in particular, that sure would be convenient!

Fairy Penguin
Also known as the kororā to the Māori, the blue fairy penguin is native to the coasts of New Zealand and Australia. Although, there has been new studies that show there are actually three different kinds of Blue Fairy penguins, with the ones who live in Australia and a certain part of New Zealand as different. Although listed at low risk, their populations are slowly declining, with some colonies disappearing entirely! Learn More!
Carrion Crow
The carrion crow is one smart cookie! It often said that the crow has a brain similar to that of a three year old. They are able to solve problems and even recognize humans! One study showed that they would target a certain mask wearer despite what he was wearing being different from what they originally wore when they were bothering the crowd. The news quickly spread amongst them and soon all the local crowd knew to defend their territory from this guy. Learn More!

The little penguin (or fairy penguin) of New Zealand is rarely seen on land, as it spends the day either out at sea or in its burrow and moves about under the cover of darkness. Some have established colonies in urban areas, creating nests under houses, sheds, and woodpiles.
