So, you've mentioned before that TTRPGs always have an expected "mode of play", that is, the basic concept from which the gameplay loop is derived. I admit I have little experience with this kind of thing, but I'm having trouble wrapping my head around the mode of play of Lasers and Feelings. Like, what's the unifying thread between Lasers and Feelings, Radical Catgirl Anarchy, and Lily is Girls With The Ability? Or between L&F and something like Speeding Bullets, for that matter? Is it just that they're all rules-light shitposts? Or is it based on, like, the tension between the two different ends of a dichotomy?
One-page games can be tricky in this respect because they just don't have the bandwidth to explicitly state many of their assumptions. They necessarily depend on the players (and the GM, if present) bringing the "correct" set of assumptions to the table regarding how the game ought to be played.
Still, there's enough there to draw certain conclusions. For example, in a typical Lasers & Feelings hack, rolling the dice gives a pass-or-fail outcome (with optional complication) for a discrete physical, mental, or social task. This frames a session of play as a sort of narrative obstacle course: the story consists of overcoming a series of well-defined obstacles in order to arrive at a particular goal. That might seem like a fairly banal observation, because that's how a lot of tabletop RPGs frame a session of play, but we need to make that explicit to contextualise the next step.
That next stop, of course, being the approaches.
One of the baseline assumptions of any tabletop RPG is that you're going to use it to tell the kinds of stories about which the rules have something to say – indeed, a tabletop RPG has to assume this, because if you're not telling the kind of story about which the rules have something to say, you're not playing the game!
To that end, a Lasers & Feelings hack is usually going to give you a pair of approaches to roll against, each consisting of a set of ways of conceptualising the obstacle in front of you. I'm not using the term "conceptualising" just to be fancy here; in Lasers & Feelings, the GM (if present) describes the obstacles, but it's on the player, not the GM, to decide "this is the kind of obstacle which can be overcome with [insert approach]", and nobody gets to tell them they're wrong.
Thus, a Lasers & Feelings hack assumes that the story of your game is going to consist of a series of obstacles (see above) which can usefully be conceptualised using at least one of the game's two approaches. A game where your approaches are "the power of friendship" and "the power of unimaginable violence", for example, probably isn't one that you'd want to use to play out a scenario inspired by Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, because those approaches aren't useful ways of conceptualising the kinds of obstacles such a story is likely to present – and if you used it anyway, the story would rapidly stop being a Pride and Prejudice pastiche.
All that in mind, it might be more accurate to state that Lasers & Feelings as a framework presents meta-expectations; the framework provides a set of mechanisms for a particular hack's chosen approaches to direct play, but you have to look at what that hack's chosen approaches actually are to pin down what that direction is.

Proseka headcanons
-as rui’s childhood friend, nene has extensive fire safety knowledge
-shizuku is adopted, hence why she looks so different from shiho. she was adopted shortly before the moon rabbit event and it contributed to her clinginess
-shiho forgets this fact sometimes. she’ll casually mention something like shizuku got all mom’s good genes so unfair and ichika has to be. um. shiho
-kanade is mildly nearsighted/myopic but spends so much time at her computer she hasn’t noticed
-emu is buff. she climbs multiple stories without breaking a sweat and is canonically part of the swimming, handball and rhythmic gymnastic clubs, you can’t tell me she doesn’t have some muscle
-saki helps out as a human notepad for tsukasa, reminding of him things he would otherwise forget within 5 minutes
-the vocaloids also help. at first it was unnerving to have hatsune miku be an extension of his psyche that knows his darkest secret (stole saki’s candy when he was 6) but now his phone has a more reliable catgirl themed reminder system
-you know that classic nightmare of leaving the house without pants? tsukasa has legitimately done that as a kid. he forgor. (saki will never let him live it down)
-in the kamiyama student council/hall monitor room, an has put up at sign saying “_ days since last kamishiro incident”
-the shinonome siblings both figured out the other one was gay before they figured it out about themselves
-airi’s great at trivia from her time as a variety show star. she still can’t beat minori at idol trivia, though
-ena keeps a diary with fort knox level security. try to read it and you’ll lose a finger
-saki learned to crochet from the old ladies in the hospital
-shiho’s most treasured phenny is a somewhat lumpy crocheted phenny holding a very lumpy crocheted bass guitar
-tsukasa snores. he falls asleep in 10 seconds and sounds like a dying lawnmower
-mizuki has learned a small bit of french from their sister and uses it exclusively to teach rui and an how to swear in french
-emu still celebrates her grandfather’s birthday, even if he’s not there to celebrate with her
-ena is allergic to dogs, the middle point to airi’s cat allergy and akito’s dog phobia
-rui has various small scars from his experiments over the years, but nobody ever believes the real causes (rocket launcher, robot bite, exploding balloon animal, etc.) so he just makes up a new cause every time someone asks
-mmj! has had repeated incidents of minori and airi’s little siblings walking into frame when streaming at their houses. shiho understands the concept of a livestream but has still been caught failing at creeping past like that one new broadcast of the guy crawling along the floor
-kanade has pots & eds, this one I have a reason for look at her symptoms. chronic exhaustion, heat and cold intolerance, comorbid sleep issues and depression, dizziness when standing up, fainting after standing up, very pale skin, family history of medical issues, pain at normal physical activities, exercise intolerance, vertigo at mild exertion, she just fucking dies during the entire baseball event, I could go on. she canonically gets pain in her hands from opening a jar girl that is not just being out of shape that is physical disability. this one I will go conspiracy board on listen to me I’m right
-kohane ate bugs as a kid. an is horrified, toya is confused, akito is impressed
-ena and airi got in trouble in middle school because they’d keep starting fist fights in defense of the others honor. if they saw the other in a fight they’d jump in guns blazing no hesitation no questions ask ready to throw the fuck down
-vbs!rin and len were given a skateboard by an and then promptly had the skateboard confiscated by meiko for property destruction
-haruka is horrible with slang. she asks the stream chat what poggers means and immediately uses it completely wrong, killing all viewers on impact
-minori is torn between thinking it’s cute and wanting to die
-toya has been banned from arcades before because he made them lose too much money/they suspected he was cheating
-ena brought kanade over for girls night and nearly scared akito half to death because he went down to get a late night snack and there was some Ghastly Creature looming in his kitchen
-kohane's parents stick out like a sore thumb when going to her live shows. it mortifies her that everyone on vivid street can recognize them as the only milquetoast middle aged couple dressed in normal clothes loudly going YOU'RE DOING GREAT SWEETIE that don't know the first thing about music
-minori knows basic programming. she mostly uses it for forums, blogs, html, other web design things usually related to idols as a hobby, but she's become the groups designated anti-shizuku tech support
-mafuyu has always been able to see ghosts but after adults figured she was just playing pretend as a kid so she shrugged and figured it was normal and not worth bringing up again
-honami has one of those massive extended families and somehow keeps track of them all. at any given time cousin #57 can crawl out of the woodwork and she remembers their new job, favorite food, past three romantic relationships and list of allergic reactions
-mizuki does doll customizing as a hobby. they prefer making human sized clothes, but it's fun to make them miniature too. they've introduced shizuku to it and she loves it, but doesn't have the heart to do anything that would hurt the doll (sawing limbs off, dunking them in boiling water, shoving wires in them, etc.)

i'd love your analysis and opinions of the lovely izutsumi (izutsumi) for the character meme :3c
Izutsumiiii~
First impression
Once again tbh my impression of her was formed from Fandom Osmosis before I actually encountered her. In this case: The Best Take on a Catgirl Ever
Impression now
Yeah hi this ask is what prompted me to write this post about my thoughts on Izutsumi's role in the story
Anyway in addition to that... I love her. I really appreciate how her trauma and coping mechanisms are handled, and I adore the Cat of it all. Some of my favorite panels are just the ones where Izutsumi is in the background doing cat things. She's got so much spirit and she grows so much and she's got so much future ahead of her... ahh... Izutsumi...
Favorite moment
I was going to say the entirety of the succubus fight, especially the two hearts bit. And that probably IS my favorite moment, but I'm going to highlight this detail instead bc it's easy to miss and so beloved:
Tumblr media
She wipes their faces clean and gets her kitty hairs all over them....
Idea for a story
Hmmm... I mean really any kind of post-canon exploration of her would be so good. There are already at least a couple of good oneshots I've seen doing that, but honestly I'd love something LONG and just... about her figuring herself out. How she decides where to fit in, what she does with her relationships, what she does with her freedom.
I guess really what I'm thinking of is something that captures the "healing isn't linear" experience of trying to move on from as much trauma grief and isolation as Izutsumi has experienced. I think a story where she has room to backslide and move forward and fail and apologize and forgive herself and forgive the people around her... those ups and downs would be cool to see played out in full.
Unpopular opinion
??? She's kitty. We all are in agreement on this one, I think
Favorite relationship
Okay this is actually hard because on the surface level it's definitely of course her and Marcille. BUT... I have also been really enjoying revisiting tidbits of her and Senshi (especially the way he makes her food the chapter when she joins...), and I want to explore more of her and Laios too...
I'll still just stick with her and Marcille though, because they are very sweet and fun and good.
Favorite headcanon
I can't track it down right now, but there is a bonus comic doodle that's like "what was everyone doing at 13?" and Izutsumi's response is like. Pshh?? 13? That was four years ago how am I supposed to remember" and like. My girl has SO many trauma repressed memory issues. [Izutsumi voice] what to do mean you guys have clear memories before 15.

Autistic Anime Girls Group 2 Final Match
Tumblr media
SUBMISSION PROPAGANDA:
Marcille -
"Dungeon Meshi is a manga about autism that just so happens to also have monsters and cooking.
On a surface level, Marcille seems like the most 'normal' one in the main group, she's often playing the straight man role in jokes and objects to their crazier plans. But its all just masking yall. She is a very introspective and anxious person, she spends a lot of time silently worrying about things like mortality and social rules. So whenever she's freaking out about people cooking monsters, she doesn't actually have any personal objections to it, she's just watching people break the rules she has fixated on and is unsure what to do about it. Likewise, she fell in love with her girlfriend after watching her openly being a weirdo who scampers around in the wilderness to look for cool bugs.
And yet, for all of her worrying about fitting in, she never quite manages it. At the wizard school she was seen as a weirdo half-elf who does unusual experiments and gets too excited. Over the course of the manga, she travels in an adventuring party with a few other openly autistic people (and a chronically divorced hobbit), and she slowly opens up to them over time and becomes more okay with the idea of coming across as weird.
A vote for Marcille Donato is a vote for your local weirdo autistic transbian who fails to fit in."
Izutsumi -
"Izutsumi is a picky eater and she has sensory touch issues as well plus as a catgirl she automatically gets autism because all cats have autism by human standards."

STEM SISTER SCUFFLE: ROUND 1 MASHUP 16
Kal'tsit (Arknights) vs Entrapta Princess of Dryl (Netflix She-Ra and the Princesses of Power)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kal'tsit is a Medic and Pharmacist!
Entrapta Princess of Dryl is a Roboticist, Programmer and First Ones' Tech Historian/Archaeologist!
Why you should vote for each contestant:
Kal'tsit:
"Kal'tsit is the Officer-in-Charge for Rhodes Island's Medical Department and she uses her expertise to heal other operators in battle while being apart of the battle herself. Kal'tsit seems to be one of the closest characters to the player character "Doctor", being familiar with their past while Doctor has no clue due to amnesia. Apparently she has been around for quite a long time and, old lady jokes aside, due to all the experience she has she seems to be one hell of an op operator (though I have been unable to play Arknights myself so I am relying on the information of multiple different people who do play). Also she is my wife I love her <3"
"first of all, she is a cat woman (she is very old)... her companion is a green dragon crystalline monster whom she has a symbiotic relationship with... they understand each other and kal'tsit also commands them in battle she oversees the medical branch of rhodes island which is a research & pharmaceutical company trying to find the cure to the fatal rock disease that plagues this world and kills you slowly :( despite living in such a harsh world, she never stops fighting for and helping the people... even tho people want to kill her, she remains kind she mentors all sorts of people and trains them to be future doctors and in the game itself she is classified as a medic! hiiiiii demi its me lapis teehee i hope u have fun hosting this too!!!!"
"My beautiful catgirl ex-wife. She has definitely been alive for millennia, is a passionate ally to the downtrodden (you know, to atone for her previous history of war crimes), and founded a pharmaceutical company that largely does charity work for sufferers of the setting-specific incurable magic rock cancer. She's psychically bonded with the xenomorph-esque monster that lives in her spine. She wants to kill me. <3 For added context to the above, when I say "me" and "my" above, I refer to the player character of Arknights, the otherwise-unnamed "Doctor." While it is unlikely that Kal'tsit and the Doctor were ever literally married, the particular nature of their closeness, implied history, and current co-parenting has lead to "the ex-wife" to be a near-universally accepted fandom nickname for Kal'tsit. In a game full of hyper-competent characters with mysterious pasts, Kal'tsit is both the most competent and the most mysterious, and is genuinely a major factor in my fondness for Arknights itself."
"(cracks fingers) here we go-- dr. kal'tsit is a wise and kindhearted individual who travels and helps as many people as she can in need. when you first encounter her in the game, she comes off as cold and harsh, cutting straight to the point. however, that's only because the player character probably did something really awful (unknown atm). in events where we were able to explore her backstory and see how people reacted to her, we find out that she will save as many lives as she could through tactical negotiation, but she is ready to fight as needed if people fail to consider her warnings. as a doctor with an incurable rock disease (incuritis 2 JDHEJDJFKE), she understands the pain of that illness and administers help to people who get infected, no matter who they are, even if theyre some rando in the village woods. she also created a type of poison that would help in a quiet assassination, something that wouldn't be immediately detected by other forensic scientists until it was too late. i know i said that she tried to save as many people as possible, but this situation was a bit different. i would expand on it but i might be rambling a bit too much, but basically shes got a complex set of decisions and loves humanity a bit too much and also has the skills to back it up.she rocks both a maid outfit and a suit in canon"
Entrapta Princess of Dryl:
"She builds robots!!! She's curious and inquisitive!! She loves her robots!! She has the coolest hair and also I want to be her bestie. She's an absolute love"
"autism :)"
"Builds robots and computers for fun and companionship. Can take apart and understand almost any tech she is presented with. Autism lever set to max and I love her. Mandatory boob window in all her outfits and I've never related harder to a character."
"autistic icon, amazing inventor and app round excellent character"
"she has prehensile hair it’s literally the best thing i’ve ever seen in my life, it’s never once acknowledged by any of the characters as abnormal or explained in any way i’m literally obsessed with it. also autism queen"
"PIGTAILS!!!! autism"
"Entrapta is very bubbly and positive. She never lets anything like losing her friends or going to the bad side or getting put on a death-sentence island stop her from scientific pursuits! She actually drives a lot of the conflict in the story, as she explains the technological backstory of the world, and helps both sides be better at fighting. She loves data, doing experiments, and the scientific method. She's also in love with space. She is an autistic queen <3"
"phenomenal canon autism representation without being weird & shitty. also she’s so strange & wonderful & relatable in so so many ways. my computer is named Darla bc that’s what she named the AI for the spaceship in s5"
"She is THE science queen because she loves science so much and her love of it is INFECTIOUS. I don’t know anything about science but Entrapta makes it seem like the coolest thing in the universe. I love her"
"She ourple. I luv her"
"She's so passionate about her work. Takes through notes! Figured out how to hack her home planet!!! She's autistic as hell and I like her overalls."
"You won’t get autism like this anywhere else bestie"
"amoral mad scientist who flips between the good guys and bad guys, loves building so many inventions, ends up converting the head bad guy (for most of the series) to good through the power of love"
"She has outfitted her entire castle to be a maze, and installed electronic locks on some. Her staff seems to be mostly robots she has built herself. In good part reverse engineering or adapting ancient tech found on the planet. She's incredible at what she does and personally fixes, invents and builds a wide range of stuff from space ships to portals to a prosthetic exoskeleton to trackers to war machines. She can do it all. Autism win! Girlie has been criticised for being treated childlike or being unable to understand those around her to a ridiculous degree, but I'm honestly just glad she's not a Sheldon Cooper. Her favorite bots have personalities and therefore implied AI (but not the shitty kind), which means she's pretty fucking good at software too. She likes tiny foods."
"So very autistic about technology. Initially believes robots are way better than people, eventually makes human friends but also very much still has robot friends (I love Emily so much). Gets so excited about finding new First One's tech. Also her happy spinning around in a space suit in that one season 5 episode heals my heart every time I watch it"
"She's the planet's leading expert on ancient tech (sci-fi/fantasy universe) and develops most of the tech in the show and is very autistic about it. i love her"
"She is fun and funky. Chaotic neutral. Definitely some autism coding going on, which is very charming. She has a pet robot? It is cute"
"Bc she is ENTRAPTA!! No srsly she is such a well-written character. At times kinda morally grey but always lovable and great and she is truly amazing at what she does!! I'm pretty sure she's already been submitted but I wanted to make sure :)"

My ask about catboys was a joke like "you are a catgirl so you are supposed to know what is wrong with your kindred" but wow this does seem to explain something :/
I don't have a lot of experience with observing "catboys", but like the latest specimen other than being a lib who literally said "CIA destroyed communist countries so of course capitalism is better" (and I can't stress enough that it's not them (yes they/them) saying "communism failed everywhere" and me substituting it for CIA, they literally verbatim described it like that) also went on defending matt because "well she literally sent him death threats".
The other one had a point sometimes, and to be honest I am not sure did he believe in misandry proper, but he definitely said that "intersectionality doesn't work and sometimes men of certain groups are more oppressed". Actually wait, he described it properly himself but also reblogged another funny post with the same message that was also about "catboys are against intersectionality" so it's at least two of them.
The earliest one was a trans man who did post about transandrophobia and other things that make me think that he would defend "AFAB trans women"
The “afab trans women” thing is so funny because it’s the most laid bare version of what they’ve been doing for years and years. Everyone wants to ape transfemininity while still hating trans women. It’s just the most honest version of it

(Now I would have used Tumblr's handy dandy reblog function on my last ask, but I felt too self conscious making a long post Even Longer over a single section, BUT!)
'If I put Falst in a notably hostile and unjust city and then just… left him alone, that risked turning the in-universe established fact of people being casually shitty to ferin into a tell-don't-show thing. The last thing I wanted was for it to seem like Falst was being oversensitive, that things weren't that bad or that he could've been hanging out in cities this whole time. ... It was very important that I not shy away from showing the gross, bad side of his experience, because doing so could risk producing the opposite effect.'
Y'know as (half of) a black person, this honestly never occurred to me, like I just Instantly grasped from the way others talked about Falst in his intro arc when he wasn't there "Oh. Oh I Know That." And so seeing him in active peril in the city as opposed to him playing cards with Alinua in the one spot he knew was primarily safest didn't register to me at all as a big difference in presentation because you're not allowed to just Forget that people can and will treat you worse than you are due on sight when you're in Falst's position. But the audience watching a story is allowed and very likely to forget or not register danger levels unless they are being actively shown those things at prudent intervals. Like the silent pressure constantly on Falst is something I Fully Get without having to be given examples, but also it's a silent omnipresent pressure on top of all his other issues that he refuses to bring out of himself, so in crafting a story around All Of That, you gotta shake the jar or else the glitter at the bottom will become such a non-thing that people might just kinda go 'I mean it's just a jar with something at the bottom, I don't see what the deal there is.'
Yeah, it's… a tough balance to strike. I'm not a fan of stories that aggressively fire off nonstop reminders of in-story prejudice (netflix's shadow and bone went so hard on the in-universe anti-"shu" racism I kept cringing away from the screen wondering how this world seemed to be composed 95% of people with nothing else going on in their lives except being racist), but on the flip side you get stories with, as I like to call it, Elf Racism, where some demographic of gorgeous superhumans like elves or angels or catgirls will be allegedly discriminated against or hated by some specific in-universe group and it will usually either be brought up (a) only once in a Very Special Episode where someone is taught quickly and cleanly that Racism Is Bad, (b) literally never, except maybe the token elf/angel/catgirl will be like "you think my ears/wings/kawaii kitty vibes are beautiful? but……… all my life I was told they were hideous", or (c) solely in the context of Radical Anarchist Rebels whose reasonable points about "racism is bad" are obscured by their startling habit of committing random atrocities for our heroes to morally oppose without addressing their actual moral thesis.
My biggest complaint with these executions is that they are wildly, wildly unrelatable. "My life is hard because I have adorable kitty ears, angel wings or superpowers" is the kind of thing that needs supporting evidence before an audience will buy it. "This world is prejudiced, by which I mean elves and dwarves hate each other - but not THIS elf and dwarf, they're besties, but all other elves and dwarves hate each other and in those cases it's just a fun quirk we will never attempt to address" produces a setting that can't decide if prejudice is a moral failing or a funny quirk. "There is prejudice in this world, by which I mean all the bad guys are racist and all the good guys are 100% enlightened and unproblematic" isn't much better, because it's being used as just another flavor of Good Vs Evil - plus the execution on the bad guys' part tends to be so cartoonishly over-the-top as to be completely implausible.
This is a problem, because if the "prejudice is bad" story is trying to communicate, for instance, the complex moral message "prejudice is bad," the prejudice enacted in the story probably shouldn't be so cartoonishly implausible that the audience has no chance of recognizing it within themselves or within anyone whose flavor of bias is anything less blatant than foaming-at-the-mouth-and-cranking-the-hate-crimes-dial-up-to-11. Most people will accept the idea that "people being ridiculously terribly prejudiced is bad," but when the image of prejudice the story paints is so divorced from any sort of lived experience, they will not see prejudice as a harmful flaw that real human people are capable of perpetuating, and they won't recognize it when they see it from the outside in real life - they'll see it as another hypothetical flavor of evil villainy that some bad people intrinsically do.
Prejudice is such a widely experienced issue, especially the "omnipresent invisible uncertainty of whether or not I am safe right now" thing, that it's baffling to me that so many of these stories don't seem to… get it? While the specific nature varies in every case, there is fundamental overlap in the experience! Like, I absolutely do not experience it the same way a lot of other people do - I am very white-looking, and too blonde for the garden-variety antisemites to figure me out, so race-based harassment has never targeted me - but I've been an underage woman in creepy-older-male-dominated spaces, I spent about half my middle school years as the target of nearly-nonstop bullying (a lot of it from people who I otherwise got along fine with and knew were ultimately well-meaning with a blind spot for casual cruelty), and in the past I've been cyberstalked and harassed by random entitled weirdos for long periods of time. I am very aware of the feeling of "there is a target on my back, and I just hope nobody hits it too hard today," and it seems to me that that specific feeling cannot possibly be this difficult to communicate.
It's like these writers read about how prejudice worked and were like "some people hate people for how they were born, got it" and just put that in their world without any nuance. Actually, I say it's like that, but considering the demographics dominating publishing, that's probably exactly why it happens so much.

Entrapta and Vines
A comment left on the second chapter of Along the Stream left me thinking...
What a wasted opportunity the episode 'Launch' was to show that, actually yeah, Entrapta was traumatised by her experiences on Beast Island. And actually yeah, the Princesses can be insensitive bitches. And actually yeah, characters' trauma matters even when they're not creator's pet catgirls.
See, Entrapta was masking very well on Beast Island, pretending like being sent on a death sentence to the most horrifying place on Etheria did not affect her at all so long as she had First Ones' tech to study.
We know this is a lie, because as soon as people come to rescue her and unintentionally remind Entrapta of all her perceived failings—i.e. her struggle with social interactions and her thinking that she just does not understand friendship (while being one of the kindest, most unconditional friends on the show, actually)—she starts breaking down. She starts to succumb to the Island's influence, and this happens:
Tumblr media
We see Entrapta in tears accepting death. Because that's easier than facing everyone she thinks she has failed, everyone who must certainly hate her because she is just that unlovable, the poor thing.
And there's the vines. The vines of Beast Island that take you and will never release you once you succumb to them. It's been well established in the fandom what the vines allude to and I will not go into detail. There are plenty of posts around that have done so, but if you're stumped, read again the first sentence underneath the above screenshot—that should clue you in.
Tumblr media
And Entrapta is nearly taken by the vines. Had it not been for Adora (because Bow's bullshit speech projecting his own insecurities certainly would have done more harm than good, much as I love the guy), Entrapta would have been taken by the vines and she would have died.
And no amount of imagination, no amount of neglectful and bad writing can convince me that this does not leave scars on Entrapta. This is not an experience one can go through without lingering trauma. I'm sorry, but the writers entirely glossing over this in later episodes because Entrapta is not the show's main focus does not mean she does not have trauma.
And when is the next time we see Entrapta interact with vines?
Tumblr media
When Perfuma puts her on a leash. Again, might I add. And this vine-leash is not just there, nor does it just touch Entrapta—it is entirely wrapped around her, just like the vines on Beast Island.
Not only is this incredibly demeaning to Entrapta, a fully functional, highly intelligent, self-sufficient adult, but can you imagine how deeply terrifying this must have been?
Or rather, could have been. If the writers had cared about trauma other than... Blegh, if you follow my blog you will have seen my posts on the topic. I deeply despise how everyone's trauma was ignored to focus entirely on one particular character instead, creating a narrative that presents her as the only traumatised character while others—such as Entrapta—get ignored in that department.
But Perfuma has Entrapta wrapped in vines here, maybe only weeks after Entrapta was rescued from Beast Island. And it's not even like this was a physically painless experience for Entrapta, either. After all, Perfuma used that vine leash to pull Entrapta down from this height:
Tumblr media
A fall that could have easily broken Entrapta's bones, mind you.
So, in short, Entrapta has had a very, very bad experience with vines on Beast Island and Perfuma shows herself to not only be a disrespectful twat by putting Entrapta on a leash but also, had the writing cared about Entrapta's Beast Island trauma at all, this would have had Entrapta spiral straight into the deepest pits of a panic attack.
Perfuma continues to be The Worst and 'Launch' continues to prove itself The Worst as well.

One of the many things I really admire about you is how you DO things. You want to make a comic, you do it. You want to make an edit, you go and do it. You wanna do gifs, you figure out how to do it. You're constantly setting a goal and seeing it through and learning and growing as you go. And I admire that so so much because that's honestly not easy (at least it isn't for me). And I just wanted to let you know that
WOW I’ve never received an ask that made me pace around the room so much!! Thank you for telling me!! Forgive me for rambling in this response but I want to talk about the creation process a little bit— at least how I personally experience it.
Every project, no matter how large or small, is largely a fight between vision and pain. If my vision beats out my pain, I finish the project; if the pain becomes too unbearable, I hit the bricks (willingly or not).
Pain can mean a lot of things. It can mean frustration and dissatisfaction with your work in progress— a lack of technical skill that you can visibly see. It can mean the fear of ruining your vision by putting it down on paper. It can be the feeling that what you’re doing doesn’t matter. And in the context of this ask especially, it can be running headlong into wall after wall while learning how to use a new software.
I suck at learning new software. The learning curve for me is often so steep it feels untenable at times. Why can’t I do the simplest things? Why can’t anyone teach it to me in a way I can understand? I don’t even know if this YouTube video will teach me what I want to learn. And you’re saying I’ve got to watch 20 minutes of it to even see if it’s what I’m looking for?
I need you to know that for everything even remotely complete, even if it’s a work in progress, is built on a mountain of failures, of incomplete works, of past trials and tribulations. What I have of the music video for the SCP antimemetics division, built painstakingly in one of the most inaccessible and unfriendly video editing softwares, AVIUtl, dragged itself out of earthen trenches so that my music video for Pathologic could crawl pathetically. And that paved the way for the bits and pieces of the Kekkaishi music video, which walked so that the things I do for BIRDMEN could run.
I don’t think it’s really as simple as saying, “You want to make a comic, you do it.”
I think if I had never done any comics before in my life, I’d be so fucking frustrated with the process. But because I’ve been drawing comics since middle school, because I drew things and gave up and drew more things and gave up more, I was able to learn the language of comics by the time I entered high school, and by the time I entered college I had fought tooth and nail to learn how to use digital art softwares (I sulked a lot about this. I hated that everything I learned about making manga traditionally became essentially obsolete. I sulked soooo much about it it was unreal. don’t be like me).
That’s why I could finally, at that point, after almost 6 or 7 years of drawing, finally finish a 16-page oneshot for the first time in my life. Because I had hundreds and hundreds of pages of shitty pencil sketches of catgirls and schoolboys and what have yous. And knowing I could do that let me push myself further. I said to myself, I bet I could draw a story longer than 16 pages. I bet I could draw a story that’s 100. And I did. I had to sacrifice vision so I wouldn’t encounter so much pain, but I did it. And that’s why I think I can draw 600 pages now. Because it doesn’t hurt so much anymore, these days.
That’s not to say that drawing comics for me is an entirely painless process. It just means that the only thing I’m fighting is my self-esteem and perfectionism for the most part. I think my technical skills won’t fail me, not for panelling, not for compositions, not for art. It’s all about convincing myself that what I’m doing is worth it. Not the easiest, but certainly much less painful than having to fight that PLUS technical woes.
I think I understand what you’re going through, just a little bit. Maybe you don’t experience things exactly as I do, but I think you’re going through a lot of pain right now. That you have a vision, but you have trouble carrying out, whether it’s because of technical issues, unfamiliarity with the medium, a fear of beginning something you won’t end up finishing, or something else entirely. I don’t have too much sage advice for what to do here, but I want to assure you that what I do isn’t nearly as effortless as you might perceive it to be.
I want to take this chance and say to you that just from looking through your archives I can see that you’ve improved so so so much over the years. You draw often, you do lots of character design work, you’ve got a lovely and distinctive style. I know you mentioned one time that you wanted to draw a webcomic— and I say do it! Just dive into it.
The reason it took me so long to get to my level of competence in comics is because I had to reverse engineer a lot of shit. I used to draw things panel by panel, until I wanted a 2-page spread and realized, “Shit! I have to plan and pace out my story so that everything before the 2-page spread comes to a neat end on the left-hand page!” I used to freehand dialogue until I grew so frustrated with the fact that conversations seemed to constantly go off the rails that I realized, “Yikes, I gotta script this out beforehand...”
And so on and so forth. And maybe you’ll feel like you’ve wasted time and love on something that isn’t good, but just DOING things will teach you so, so much. It’s okay if what you make is bad. You can always start over, do it better this time.
This offer goes out to you, but really it goes out to any of my mutuals— if you ever want to talk about making stuff, whether it’s illustrations or writing or storyboarding, I’m always down. Whether you want technical advice or simple encouragement, feel free to reach out to me. I love seeing what other people are doing, and I know it’s really frustrating and scary to feel out a path by yourself when you feel like you don’t really know what you’re doing.
Art is so scary. It’s so painful. But even so, we can’t help but want to carry through with it, right?

NSFW BELOW THE CUT
Blood: What is your f/o’s biggest kink(s)? Do they get to act them out often?
Claws: Is your f/o rough in bed, gentle, or a mixture of both?
Teeth: Does your f/o enjoy biting/being bitten? Do they do/like soft bites or rough ones?
Audio: How loud does your f/o moan?
Idia Shroud
Blood:
Okay, this mf is a sucker for catgirls and maid outfits. Also shibari. He's just A LITTLE BIT sadistic in a kinky way. He has a thing for BDSM roles too: master and pet, mistress and slave, mommy and little boy and vice versa. But, of course, he's too shy to ask for that directly, and too shy to be a dom often.
Claws:
Idia is scared to hurt me, so for the most time he's gentle and can get rough only for a little.
Teeth:
You've seen this bastard's teeth? His SHARK teeth? Do you think he wouldn't use them? He's not too rough, of course, he doesn't want to make me feel pain, but... little intimate bites are his profession. His self-esteem raises up when he learns out how he can use his teeth-. He doesn't mind being bitten too! Just, not too hard.
Audio:
He kind of hates it because it's so embarassing, but the boy is loud and honestly so cute. He's lvl 100 virgin and with his sensitiveness he can't help whimpers and squeals that leave his mouth. He's so so shy at first, tries to silence himself and fails every time, but gives up on that once he learns out how much his sounds turn me on. When he has courage and is too horny, he can dirty talk~
Lilia Vanrouge
Blood:
Marking. Totally. He doesn't hae little cute fangs for nothing. And if you'll tell me he doesn't have a daddy kink then there's nothing to talk about with you. He might have a little thing for BDSM... as he loves to experiment~
Claws:
He tends to adapt to me, as he wants to please both himself AND me. It is also depends on his mood. But still, my comfort is his priority, even when he's being a little mean.
Teeth:
Read the "Blood" paragraph /lh. He has a WHOLE kink for biting. He LOVES biting me, but doesn't mind being bitten too! Although, he's a huge tease when I bite him-
Audio:
Another thing that depends on his mood and a role he's in. When he's a dom, he mostly just grunts, when he's a sub, he can be louder. He's a dirty talker too!
Rook Hunt
Blood:
PRAISE AND WORSHIP. He gets turned on so much just from the thought of how beautiful I am during intimate moments. He doesn't mind being praised and worshipped himself, but it doesn't affect him that much as doing that for me. Also, maybe the idea of him being "a hunter" and me being his "prey" sounds intriguing for him... or is it just me?
Claws:
He's usually very sweet. He doesn't want to hurt me, a true example of the world's beauty. Although it doesn't mean he can't be a little bit sadistic... when his hunter's curiosity takes over him and he wants to learn out my other reactions. But again, he knows when to stop and doesn't do anything that can cause discomfort for me! My comfort is more important to him than his own hunter's curiosity.
Teeth:
Honestly, he's not much of a biter himself, untill I won't ask him directly. He doesn't mind being gently bitten, but again, it's not a huge thing for him.
Audio:
He's rather talkative than plainly loud. Again, he praises a lot and always so poetic, so yeah :>
Riddle Rosehearts
Blood:
...Mommy kink. Poor boy had a very abusive mother so he craves a caring mother figure, and it kind of affected his kinks. Tho he will never admit that. He will never admit he's sometimes interested in such things at all untill our first time. Also, he's interested in master/slave relationship too, in both ways. He likes to take or be in control even in bed~
Claws:
Riddle is ALWAYS sweet. He can act strictly when he's dominant, but only verbally. Physically he's ALWAYS gentle. He doesn't want to harm his beautiful rose. He can "off someones head", but he just can't hurt me, especially during intimate moment.
Teeth:
Honestly, he doesn't have much thing for biting. Hell, he didn't even know that is a thing in the first place! The idea of marking his love as their own is intriguing for him, but doing it this way for Riddle is... weird.
Audio:
He HATES to admit this but he can't shut up in bed, both if he's dom or sub. These feelings are something unusual for him, so he can't help being sensitive. He acts pretty tsunderish about it. You must've seen how his face turned the same color as his hair when I said I love his moans

Vent post, okay to reblog though I guess
The thing I notice most about being a fat trans woman is how nobody wants to talk about it.
I mean, sure, it’s an identity combo that will come up occasionally in laundry lists of identity combos when people are professing vague textual expressions of unspecified support, but nobody is really willing to talk about what it means.
I have tried to talk about what it means, what it feels like, but after one too many untouched twitter threads and reddit posts with two upvotes, I am more than aware that thin people, even thin trans women, would much rather keep on scrolling to the next 1000k upvoted post of a skinny woman on two months of HRT who already looks more feminine than I will after my whole transition.
And I don’t have anything against those women; I wish them all the best. But it really hurts seeing it, knowing people don’t really care to talk about how femininity as a trans woman is so often only obtainable if you are skinny, or else if you are fat in the precise right way that is only obtainable through intense body modification and/or surgery. I don’t get to mention the uncomfortable smiles and derelict dating profiles when other trans women gush about the vibrant new queer sexual communities they have found since transitioning. I don’t get to talk about how I am far and am therefore either a man, or a woman so ugly I bring down the mood when I impose myself into communities that they expect to all be full of hot, skinny queer women.
Because the thin lefty queer folks in those spaces don’t want to admit to themselves how often they are viscerally grossed out by my body. It impinges on their self-image as liberated and universally accepting. And like, I don’t begrudge them not being attracted to me. Nobody owes anyone else attraction, or reciprocation to advances (at this point I mostly don’t bother making those advances). But what does bother me is how people will continue to talk like this isn’t a thing that is true, to cover their ears and shut their eyes and continue to crow about how achievable these things are for everyone, how femininity is just a clothing change and hormones away, how easy it is to date other trans women and form sexy catgirl polyam harems once you come out, how it’s “just about confidence!!!”.
I wish that were true. I wish that was my experience with the culture. But although I have been out as trans for a while, I am still treated, in terms of sex and romance, roughly equivalently as a fat woman as I was as a fat boy; beneath notice. Knowing through the subtle cues people give that if I even tried to approach a thin cis woman it’d be a genuine “hello??? Human resources???” moment.
I failed my last diet. I will probably start another one soon that will probably also fail, and then I will keep trying, because society has been screaming at me for years that getting thin is only way to achieve a version of me that they will accept for who I want to be. You can’t transition weight in the same way as you can transition your gender presentation, at least not without a lot of physical and psychological pain, but that is what is asked of us, or at least me. The world screams at me for it. It’s astonishing how much casually worse people see you as for being overweight; it’s so pervasive that people simply cannot acknowledge it, because it would too greatly shatter their impression of a fair world.
Because people won’t talk about this I’ve never been offered a serious practical alternative to continuing to hate my body and trying to, some day, lose weight. if there is an alternative solution I’ve never been offered it because people will pretend that there is simply no problem. I am repulsed by the idea of gastric surgery, but the last few months the idea has really started to grow on me as a last resort that I might simply have to try before it gets too late for me to have a womanhood. Dieting landed such a blow to my mental health at the end of last year and I have nothing to show for it since I have pretty much gained everything back. It really saps my hope for the future that even after all this, I still don’t get to just be a girl and be liked/wanted by other people in general.

I’ve lurked on this blog long enough. Now I want to talk about my own story.
For context, I’m a bisexual teenage girl living in a very liberal city. I’ve had Tumblr since middle school and was on board entirely with the “LGBTQIAP” community. However, in the following years, I began questioning their rhetoric more and more. I failed to see queer theorists and liberal feminists be able to define pansexuality, how a medical condition such as intersex qualifies as being part of a community oppressed on the basis of same sex attraction, how queer is a slur, so on and so forth. So, my acronym shortened to LGBT. I wanted to include this portion because people do claim that “saying xyz isn’t part of the LGBT community is TERF rhetoric!” nowadays, and also to show how easily swayed my disposition was to the point where I could include titles with undefinable definitions.
Here’s where the T came in. Two people have medically transitioned in my high school, both males. One was an out and proud gay male for a while, only to transition while he was 16-17. He was known as just “the gay guy” by just about everyone, and his only friends were women. The other one is one I’ll talk more about in detail.
He’s an autogynephile. I initially was supportive of him, even going as far as to assist him in self medication when we were in school. However, more and more of what he said began to unnerve me. First off, he said he had sexual fantasies of being a transgender sex slave that would become a biological girl in the process of intercourse before transition. Another was that he claimed he dated his ex girlfriend post transition, only to break up because “she doesn’t like girls”. My brain struggled to reconcile how anything about him changed except for his vocal fry, hormonal balance, and wardrobe. If he was truly a woman all along like TRA me claimed, didn’t that mean she’s bisexual for dating him pre-transition and that rejecting him is prejudiced? There’s more skinwalking when it came to his identity, as he stole the current name he is going as from a girl he used to like, and outright admitted that he adapted his personality and mannerisms from another girl in our school (for context, she is very short, Asian, wore cute blouses/skirts, had a feminine voice, and a lot of boys liked her). He would ask his friends whether they saw similarities between him and her, and get excited when they said they could see the resemblance. If we were still in high school, I would tell her that nearly 3-4 years after contacting one another, this man is still trying to model himself after her. Skinwalking much? Some side notes are that he enjoys talking about lesbians, lesbian catgirls, and anime lesbian catgirls. When I confronted him about whether he was lesbian or not, he claimed that he’s bisexual but only liked one or two guys ever. Even TRA me was skeptical, having seen gay/lesbian history and experiences co opted by fellow bisexuals, but I let it slide on the basis of “maybe he’s just misguided.” When someone tells you who you are, believe them.
Initially, I discovered a radical feminist Twitter account and began reading, and I pieced everything together. Being East Asian, the transgender community has taken their cultural and racial fetish for Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and Thai BL/GL content way too far. I admit, I have pangs of doubt that some of the stories I’m reading on here are fake or caricaturized when mentioning their lesbian porn & catgirl obsessions, but I know my own life & I have no doubt more of these men exist & form communities together. I just can’t believe that they are a legally protected class & that it’s gotten to this point. Entertain their delusions or get doxxed. The 40-50 something gender critical community on Reddit and Twitter don’t get how harrowing it is for young LGB people to have to sit through being lumped with a community that is destroying the definition of woman and all sex based protections that come with it.
