what the companions get canceled for
Ada; thinks lost and found is a freebie box, will walk into your home if the garage door is open and try to haggle for your shit
Cait; The new Giddyup Buttercups just released, a riot broke out in the store, she emerged the winner. because, y'know. she was fighting moms and their children
Codsworth; assault (ferociously wiping bbq sauce off a strangers face)
Curie; chasing anti-vax protesters with disease samples on q-tips
Danse; slurs
Deacon; the most insane kin drama you have ever seen unfold
Dogmeat; peed on a prized show poodle at the park
Gage; exotic animal ownership and driving a truck that is holding on with duct tape and a prayer. no one finds out about the...other things
Hancock; went to Nuka World, popped some bad, expired chems, and spent a week living in the walls of the attractions, planning an assassination on Cappy
MacCready; chasing anti-vax protesters with knives
Nick; exiled by the Italian community for how he makes spaghetti in the microwave (he's a busy man, it's convenient, it tastes the same, what's the fuss about?)
Old Longfellow; sport hunter
Strong; rushes the stage at a production of Cats and attacks the actors ("Bustopher Jones~, is not skin and bones~, in fact, he's remarkably fa—AAAAAAAAAA–")
Piper; the most insane twitter political hot take thread you have ever seen unfold
Preston; broke HOA rules to start a community garden and sicced children on the HOA board members
X6-88; the only HOA board member that's willing to throw children into traffic if it means digging up Preston's illegal green beans

What kind of rights - if any - would a divorced noblewoman have in Westeros? In the case where a husband wants to set aside an infertile wife who hasn't done anything wrong personally, would the ex-husband be required to make sure she was provided for or that her honour isn't damaged, or would she just instantly stop being his responsibility? Likewise, is there anything requiring the woman's birth family to take her in again, other than worrying about optics?
A couple things.
Number one, we have no idea of the extent to which divorce - as a separate concept from annulment - exists in Westeros. When commenting on the issue, GRRM merely said that "divorce simply isn’t common”, but did not elaborate. Is divorce a legal remedy for Westerosi married persons, and if so, by what means can married persons seek divorce? (Let’s not even get into the question of whether these rules apply equally to followers of the Faith versus followers of the old gods versus followers of the Drowned God.) Therefore, it is completely impossible to say whether a Westerosi man could even divorce (again, specifically divorce) his wife, much less what would happen to either party in such a scenario.
Number two, even if we just focus on annulment (which definitely does exist in Westeros), we have almost no idea on what grounds Westerosi married persons can seek such a remedy. The only confirmed reason why a Westerosi annulment can be granted is non-consummation, though given the example of Tyrion and Tysha (whose marriage was definitely consummated) it’s very probable that there are other grounds which can secure a legitimate annulment - we just don't know them all. Therefore, we have no idea whether “a husband [who] wants to set aside an infertile wife who hasn't done anything wrong personally” could even do so, much less what would happen to either party even if such an annulment could be granted. (Again, I’m not even going to begin to touch on how the various faiths of Westeros might differ on this point.)
Number three, we have virtually (more on that in a moment) no examples of a successfully obtained Westerosi annulment where the parties were both aristocrats and went on to live (separate) aristocratic lives. (I don’t count the historical example of King Garland II Gardener, given that we have no idea how he legally justified “putting his own wives aside to marry Lord Lymond’s [i.e. Lymond Hightower’s] daughter” nor what happened to these (unfortunately typically nameless) ladies afterward.) Tywin very pointedly, very specifically did not give one iota of a shit what happened to Tysha after he arranged for that marriage to be annulled (and for Tysha herself to be gang-raped). If Aegon V had any conception for what he planned to do for (or with) Jenny of Oldstones after he had the marriage between her and Prince Duncan annulled, we don’t know yet what those plans might have been. Moreover, Viserys I shut down the idea of annulling Prince Daemon’s marriage to Rhea Royce, while Jaehaerys I and Alysanne vocally resisted Rogar Baratheon’s attempt to annul their marriage in 49 AC, so there is not much to glean from these examples on what might have happened to the brides involve.
Now, we may learn much more about how the Faith and greater Westerosi society treats formerly married persons in TWOW and in Fire and Blood Volume 2. With Lancel having taken the vows of a Warrior’s Son, Amerei is no longer Lady Lannister. Jaime just barely touched upon this point in AFFC - leaving Amerei at Darry “weeping softly at the dissolution of her marriage whilst letting Lyle Crakehall console her” - though his troubled observation of “the hard looks on the faces of her kin as they stood about the yard” may suggest that the Freys will have more to say in the future on how they (and indeed the rest of the world) think of Amerei now that she is no longer Lancel’s bride. Littlefinger, of course, plans on marrying Sansa to Harry Hardyng, and I think will cite the (well-known) fact that Sansa’s marriage to Tyrion was never consummated to have the local religious authorities of the Vale declare Sansa to be as she was prior to the Tyrion marriage - that is, a highborn maiden fit to be wed to Harry. Too, on a historical level, Baelor the Blessed famously had his marriage to Daena dissolved - and while Baelor himself thereafter imprisoned Daena (as well as her sisters) for the rest of his life, we don’t yet know how the rest of Baelor’s court saw Daena after the news of the dissolution.

Sparring Partner.
Jin/Xiaoyu. Fluff. Post Tekken 8.
My first attempt at a Tekken fanfic and a first fanfic for A WHILE so please be nice:
I don't own any of these characters.
---
"A sparring session? From Jin? While he's still recovering from the... You know...?"
Xiaoyu sat on a random table with Panda, Asuka and Alisa discussing that the other night Jin asked his best friend to join him for a sparring session this evening.
"You sure he wasn't still recovering from all the blows he got from his deadbeat devil dad?" Asuka asked.
"I mean could very well be but Jin has always been alert and on his toes and I wish there was a way to say that danger is truly gone." Xiaoyu scratches her head.
"Still, I think you should go and that's when you tell him..." Alisa noted.
"Tell him about what?"
"That there's a super sized edition of the decaffeinated coffee by Ortiz Fa... No, that you've been having the hots for Jin, pigtails!" Asuka smacked the table, almost startling Panda who was enjoying a can of fish.
"Hey, those aren't pigtails and how did you know?!" Xiaoyu protested.
"Where do we begin? You've always been so damn nice to him and stood by his side even when he literally went demonic and started WWIII!" Alisa crossed her arms.
"I just had to help him! I know him better than anyone else!" Xiaoyu passed another can of fish to Panda.
"Rawwwrrr awwwraaaarrr!" Panda answered.
"Oh come on, I don't stare that much at his pecs, Panda!" Xiaoyu groaned as the other girls laughed.
"I've fought demons, like actual demons and was responsible for an actual war yet... How do I kiss a girl?!"
Jin was walking around the panel room where Lars and Victor were listening to the young Kazama's problems.
"You're saying you asked this Xiaoyu lady out without practice?" Victor asked in his french accent.
"I didn't think she'd say yes on the spot!" Jin growled.
"You're not saying that you didn't see that coming? Oh Kazama, your bloodline is full of cunning and smart people, surely you're not an exception...!" Victor shook his head.
"Take that back you greyhaired frog!" Jin hissed when Hwoarang peeked in.
"Who am I high-fiving for insulting Jinbo over here?" Hwoarang grinned.
"This is none of your business, get lost!" Jin crossed his arms.
"You better leave." Lars glared at the Korean rival sternly.
"Alright... I'll leave quietly... AY YO, DEMON BOY IS A VIRGIN!" Hwoarang ran off cackling into the distance before Jin took off.
"Better pray that I don't have any demon genes left, dicknugget!"
-
Despite Xiaoyu's protests, she appeared at the training dojo looking beautiful and dolled up thanks to Lili and Panda fixing her up (While Asuka insulting Lili's styling tips).
She wore a gorgeous dark pink traditional outfit and a sweet headband. She looked around as she was alone.
"I knew it. It's going to be just a sparring session and I will look like a fool for dressing up too nicely for this... Grrr, once I get my hands on Jin I will..."
"You will what?"
Xiaoyu turned around and saw Jin wearing an all black suit, the top buttons undone and holding out a flower.
"I'm glad I'm not the only one who was freaking out over this." Jin chuckled and handed over the flower to Xiaoyu.
"Thanks... What's going on?" She asked.
Jin took a deep breath.
"The only reason I did not notice your... Advances to me was because I was afraid... Not afraid of feeling wonderful emotions but I was afraid of hurting the one woman that means as much to me as my mother. I saw a lot of her in you but... I was scared of committing the same mistakes as my..." Jin felt a lump on his throat.
"Your father." Xiaoyu added and Jin added.
"The devil gene has done lots of damage but it also saved me in some ways... Yet now with that gone... I'm ready to become a whole new man and I just want to start with... A new move." Jin finished as Xiaoyu looked at him sideways.
"A what?"
"Come on, arms up... Fists on the ready. Defence stance." Jin held up his hands and Xiaoyu shrugged as she obeyed him.
"What kind of a move are you...." Xiaoyu was interrupted by Jin - kissing her on the lips.
It was a gentle yet a passionate kiss, something Xiaoyu has only seen in her favorite romantic movies but did not expect from the usually tough and silent Kazama. She held him close and answered the kiss with the same enthusiasm and need.
"Well...?" Jin asked after their lips parted ways.
"That was... Smooth. Didn't know you had that in you, mister Mean Demon." Xiaoyu teased and Jin just nudged her. "Shut up, Xiao." He chuckled before kissing her again when Panda stumbled in, gazed at the couple before passing out.
"I'll get the fish..." Jin shook his head with a grin...
THE END.

Ship Meme: Merida/Mulan
To be clear this is a crossover between the two animated characters, and while the OUAT characters are very similar, they are not quite the same. I will also be ignoring the events of Mulan 2, and saying that the emperor sent Mulan out on a diplomatic mission to Europe for military support instead of marrying off his daughters.
How differently do they think of each other now compared to when they first met?
Merida and Mulan met at a joust and Merida was instantly smitten when Mulan kicked her butt in the sword competition.
Tumblr media
Mulan was slower to develop feelings but faster to recognize them as the passions of the cut sleeve, while Merida has no cultural context for understanding her feelings as romantic.
What do their friends/family think of their relationship?
Initially, Merida being a foreigner is pretty strong mark against her for Fa Zhou and Fa Li, who are very traditional and vice versa for Elinor. Fergus for his part loves Mulan immediately with Gusto. In defense of the Fa parents, a big part of the lack of support also comes from getting one letter saying that there is a crazy short girl with giant red hair and eyes like a demon to her being in love in the next letter that got home to them.
Elinor for her part changes her mind about Mulan, in part because the lack of support in her parent's letter is so devastating to her and she realizes that her lack of support hurts Merida in similar ways.
Mulan's parents change their mind when Mulan takes Merida home to meet her family, and Grandmother Fa is instantly supportive and tells her son off, mentioning some youthful dalliances that she'd had.
Tumblr media
How do their personalities/skills complement or contrast with each other?
Obviously, Merida and Mulan are both fighters and very strong determined people. Less obviously, their differences are actually what make them work. Merida does not think things through, and as the future leader of the clans, desperately needs the sort of thoughtful advice that Mulan, who is good at thinking creatively on her feet can offer.
Mulan also needs Merida. Mulan loves her family, friends, and her country. That is a beautiful thing, but it can quickly become very ugly when she is unwilling to consider her own needs over the expectations of her kin. Merida is someone who demands what she wants and as much as it irks Mulan, particularly early on, it's a balance that she needs.
What is their favorite aspect of each other?
Tumblr media
They both are initially attracted to each other's strength, and over time find that they're not just strong physically but also emotionally.
Do either of them have pet peeves about each other?
Merida is very much so a punch first, ask questions later sort of person, and Mulan does not always appreciate being forced to ad lib her way through situations. Merida is very defensive when she's called out despite it being reasonable to be asked to not just react emotionally.
How would each reconcile with each other after a fight?
They go walking and hiking and train together. It's the easiest way to get Merida to talk through her problems, because when her body is kept busy she can get energy out and can't let things spiral inside her as much.
What would be their ideal vacation getaway together?
Sailing together on a junk. They both love exploring and learning new things but neither of them gets much of a chance to be away from their duties.
Tumblr media
Think of a new way (AU, different situation, etc.) they could have met for the first time.
I think Merida and Mulan would be really well suited to a zombie apocalypse AU. Merida has been struggling fending for herself after separating from her family and Mulan has to rescue the Scot from a trap that she'd set up for zombies that Merida walked into, before she catches herself on fire. Mulan ends up helping Merida to find out what happened to her family and they fall in love over the course of the adventure.

Not every Elf knows another, that's for sure. However, some Elves are so adept at flying under the radars, or keeping to themselves, or just being a regular of their kind when compared to their more reckless kin, that no one ever heard of them.
Aeargail, or Arátya Alcariénen, is one of these. Some say he just came into being out of thin air, others that he's the heir of a certain High King... The truth is, most often, boring. He is just an Elf. He performed some great deeds in ages past, but virtually everyone did at some point.
Born in First Age 454 in Nargothrond, right before the Battle of Sudden Flames, some speculate he is the twin of Ereinion Gil-galad; his hair is, however, golden, though still betrays his ties with the House Of Finarfin. The speculation of a noble descendance was enough to get him, too, to safety under Círdan the Shipwright in the Havens of the Falas. His love for wandering brought him, still a child, in Gondolin, through that same path that Húrin would follow some years later. There, he abided by the rules of the White City, and he was taken under the wing of High King Turgon and adopted into the House of Fingolfin.
He fought in the Battle of Unnumbered Tears in FA 472 as a Gondolindrim and watched his city burn. He fought again in the War of Wrath at Finarfin's command, saw the fall of the Thangorodrim in the distance, breathed a sigh of relief at the slaying of Ancalagon the Black, and once again followed Círdan, this time in Lindon, all that remained of his beloved Beleriand. He fought at the Battle of Dagorlad in Second Age 3434 and was terribly wounded, but got out alive, rescued by Lord Elrond of Imladris, and then had to take a very long rest to fully heal. Recovered, he woke up an Age and almost three millennia later, ready to fight again in the Siege of Barad-dûr, only to discover all his friends were long dead, including Gil-galad.
His life outside of the battlefield is a blur. Living so long does that.
From time to time he finds himself longing for his companions, fallen in the War or in this or that Battle, knowing very well that his time has not come yet. He has so much to do. So much to tell the world. So, in these moments, he starts singing: songs of the sea, of his lost friends, of the tales of the Noldor and the Teleri, and the Vanyar, and his Houses, and sometimes raises a glass to his brother and king.
He comes and goes as he pleases, never lingering in a place too long. He remains unmarried and generally un-partnered, preferring a life at sea instead, the Unquiet of Ulmo accompanying him since birth. If he stops anywhere at all, he holds Imladris dear, and will often look for his companion Glorfindel and manage to get a few words about Gondolin out of him. If his friend becomes sorrowful after, he will offer him a drink and a shanty while admiring the beauty of the valley at dusk.
When the sun sets and the sky goes a pale orange, he watches his reflection in the waters of the Bruinen, and sees so much of Finarfin in the way his hair flare golden. And when it gets dark, and all around him is bathed in moonlight and the star of Eärendil is right above him, a few threads of silver here and there are the telltale sign of his undying kinship with Turgon and the House of Fingolfin, and he can't help but stare at the statue of Gil-galad right in front of Elrond's house, and will be gone by dusk.
