im just saying that if i had been in charge of s6 of doctor who, i would have fully leaned into the horror of amy's pregnancy, the loss of her own agency in it, the way she was used as a vessel to create a child she would never hold again, amy pond who never indicated once that she even wanted a child and was made to have one anyway against her will, and once they were done using her, they even took away any choice she might make about it in the future.
and i would have had this be a factor in amy and river's relationship going forward. how do you interact with a child you never knew, never got to decide if you wanted to have, and she's also already your friend, you love her as this miraculous, insane woman who has saved your life more than once. she's always known more about you than you could about her, but now you know exactly how much she was keeping from you. it's not like she could have told you, could have stopped it, but all this time, she was your friend and she was your daughter, and how do you learn to live with her?

Recently Youtube's algorithm really wants me to watch Schindler's List and I never had so the other night I sat down and actually watched it.
Having a lot of thoughts about it but a major one I keep coming back to is how even an immensely and deeply flawed human being can go against "just following orders" and instead put in the work to actually help.
It may never be fully enough. It may never save as many as you'd hoped. But when you have a choice to either follow orders or save your fellow humans in front of you, I hope you choose the latter.
Schindler died in poverty. He was not a renown war hero nor was he at all famous or widely beloved. But he saw that he could help, even in some small way, and so he helped.
He was a Nazi who saw what the Nazis were doing to Jews and said no more. Enough. If I can even spare those under my charge, maybe a few extras, then at least I will have tried to do something about this.
I think a lot of people do not fancy this type of activism. It is messy, dangerous, and often completely thankless. Schindler survived as long as he did after the war due to those he saved helping him with donations. He was not popular in his hometown due to his association with Nazis, he was not popular in Germany, he was not popular in Argentina. His businesses all failed. His wife left him. A movie about his deeds was released several years after his death, where he would receive none of the benefits. He went to prison multiple times for simply refusing to hate Jews.
I think a lot of people like to think they're activists, but are sorely unprepared for doing this type of work, and then in truth become activists in name only. This is hard work. But without him, another thousand or so people would be on that death toll.
He took his position of extreme power- a Nazi owning a factory almost entirely operated by Jews, making oodles of money off that cheap slave labor- and said you know what? No. I'm not doing that. I can't save everyone, but as long as they are within my factory, you will not kill my workers. As long as I'm here you aren't harming one hair on the head of any Jew under my care. You're not sending or keeping them in Auschwitz. You're not randomly executing them for entertainment. They're people. You're not murdering them.
"Just following orders" they say. But they didn't have to. They could have helped. They could have did what he did, look around and say "what the fuck am I doing here", and stop. He did. They could have. They didn't.

as much as i hate horde prime i gotta admire how he showed up and humbled the fuck out of everyone. like SO many characters had an Oh Fuck moment where they realised there was so much more to everything than whatever feelings they had about the war on etheria. like he's the fucked up reason why catra and adora managed to rekindle their bond. and why glimmer was able to see she was wrong and apologise to the best friend squad. and the catalyst for glimmer and catra's friendship. and why hordak was able to realise he cared more about the genuine love he had from one person on etheria than anything else he'd ever achieved there. in conclusion I LOVE SEASON 5 YOU CAN PRY IT FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS.

Once again. I don’t know when I’ll be able to color this but here’s the full wip (corresponding to this whump post)
Usually Abram’s recovery goes about as expected but sometimes there’s stretches where he kind of slumps, just part of the ups and downs of recovery. Part of that is the constant vigilance he was forced to have in Evermore catching up to him again, so his health deteriorates and he gets jumpy and anxious and most of all exhausted. He figures out his brain remembers the mealtime breaks; and even if Andrew would never allow it at the table, the prince can recognize when he needs to give a little and let Abram sleep on the floor. It’s the only way he’ll fully relax. When he figures this out, there’s suddenly and mysteriously a few nice floor pillows and other furniture and blankets added to his room, and more for Abram to take to his own.
(Can I count this as whumptober 25 if one of the prompts is flashback 🤔)

gojo and f!reader are in a semi established relationship aka idiots in love. the best match for a drama queen is someone who indulges their drama.
divider by @/cafekitsune 🫂
When your index finger catches on the side of one of the packets of paper you are handing out to not only your fellow sorcerers and teacher but your students as well, everyone stops for a moment. Their breath catches when you hiss and you can cut the tension with a knife while everyone awaits the inevitable.
Satoru’s overzealous dramatics.
“How could they do this to you?!”
Gojo stands from where he is sitting and comes to your side, delicately holding his hand out to look at your injured finger. Despite yourself, you giggle and hold it out with a pout and everyone unfortunately witnessing the pair of you rolls their eyes at how effectively you manage to get everyone off topic completely in a matter of seconds.
“Uh, Nanamin?” Yuji leans over the shoulder of the man sitting in front of him and Kento sighs, veins already bulging out of the side of his head. “Who is “they”? Who is hurting her?”
The blonde man shakes his head and looks halfway over his shoulder, brown eyes narrowed while Gojo continues to fuss over your finger, loudly vowing revenge upon whatever cosmic force did this to you - a paper cut that probably isn’t even bleeding.
“It’s nobody, Itadori. The two of them are unfortunately very dramatic and feed off of one another.”
Yuji feigns understanding, nodding his head slowly. He doesn’t understand why Gojo is frantically petting your completely unharmed finger but it has to be one of those things about love people tell him about. It’s always the little things if the stories passed down by old people are to be believed.
This level of drama doesn’t really seem like a little thing but at least there seems to be a good understanding between you guys of what the other needs.
“Better now?” Gojo asks you and you nod with a smile, holding your unharmed finger in the air. “Yup, all good.”
A sigh of relief washes over the room, everyone’s shoulders relaxing as it appears the task at hand will return to being relevant. You shuffle the stack of papers in your hands and take a step forward, only to stumble embarrassingly when you trip over your shoes.
Everyone groans again when Gojo, who barely made his way back to his seat, rises and holds his arms in the air, palms extended.
“Not again! I warned you!” He shouts at the ceiling, balling his fists with all the drama of a man fueled by vengeance for his harmed lover.
Your cheeks warm when a room full of people turns to glance at you incredulously, lips pursed and brows raised. Satoru rants and promises heads delivered to your doorstep and you just shrug and play it off, pressing a packet to each desk in front of you.

I'm really just Feeling Things tonight about the conversation with Gale after Elminster's visit and like. Gale is So Insistent that if Mystra says he needs to blow himself up, then it must be the best option. The only option. And of course he is! Because what's the alternative? If there's another way, any other way, that means either
1. Mystra doesn't care enough to consider whether there might be another option. Gale blowing himself up is the easiest solution, so that's what she goes with. Or, even worse,
2. She does know there's other options, but tells him to sacrifice himself anyways, because it gets rid of two of her problems at once.
Gale doesn't just assume she's right because she's a goddess. He goes along with it because of what it implies about him, and her, and how she sees him if there is another way. He has to believe that this is the only option. Because the alternative? That he's disposable at best and actively unwanted at worst? That's just too much to bear.

shrue changing the promised bride tale to better suit their political agenda was just so. from a story about a young woman who gives herself over to the trawler-man to avoid getting married (a parallel to carpenter's aromanticism) to a pro-war propaganda meant to encourage helpless people to sacrifice themselves to feed the gods. they created a love story from something that was never meant to be one and then weaponized it. i am going insane
