Why does this have "- Freeform" at the end? and other questions about AO3 tag suffixes
Have you ever tagged something only for it to get a suffix like Character, Relationship or Freeform stuck on the end when you hit save? Do you think it's ugly and want it to go away, but don't know how? You probably can't, unfortunately, but there are a few situations where you can.
A tag suffix is a hyphen followed by the name of a tag category. Tags are either Fandom, Character, Relationship or Freeform tags. The reason that a suffix gets put on a tag is that the wrangulator (the part of AO3's backend that deals with tags) can't have tags with the same name, even if they're in different categories. As a solution, it puts the category at the end of tags that have first been tagged in some other category. For example: let's say that someone tags Evil Mark Donk in the characters field because that's where they want it to appear on their work (which is a perfectly valid choice to make!). Then someone else comes along and tries to tag Evil Mark Donk in the additional tags/freeforms field. (That field is shown as "additional tags" on the posting form, but the wrangulator and tag wranglers call it the "freeforms" because that's what it was originally called.) When the second person hits save, it will appear as Evil Mark Donk - Freeform on their fic. This will also happen if someone tags Evil Mark Donk in the relationships field, but there it would appear as Evil Mark Donk - Relationship. It's ugly and it's annoying, but the wrangulator is trying its best.
So how do you get rid of it? Sometimes it turns up because you've accidentally put your tags in the wrong field. Maybe you wrote a fic where you tagged Evil Mark Donk in the additional tags field, and no one else had tagged for it before you, which means it doesn't have a suffix and everything's right! But then you write a second fic, forgot to select the "additional tags" field when posting and now suddenly you've got Evil Mark Donk - Character on your fic. If that's the case, all you have to do is move it. But what if the first person to tag it wasn't you, and they put it in the character field, so you're stuck with Evil Mark Donk - Freeform? You can choose a different phrasing for the tag that wasn't initially tagged in a different field, e.g. Evil!Mark Donk or Mark Donk is Evil.
You may also have the problem that on the first use of a particular tag, you accidentally put it in a field you don't want it to be in, and now even when you put it in the right one, it still comes up as Evil Mark Donk - Freeform! The wrangulator has betrayed you, and you will be stuck with the ugly suffix forever! Not so, my friend. The problem is that even though you deleted the character tag Evil Mark Donk, it's still floating around in the wrangulator, which hasn't noticed that you deleted it. What you have to do is wait for 24 hours (give it a few for leeway) and a part of the wrangulator called "the rake" will delete it. After it's been raked, you can go forth and post it in the additional tags field, and no suffix will appear!
Unfortunately, most of the time it's going to be that someone else tagged it in a category you don't want to tag it first, and you can't change it without changing the phrasing of your tag. Sorry!
Sometimes, taggers will add their own suffixes, and tag wranglers are extremely curious about why. If you've done this, or something similar like put (freeform) in brackets after a tag, please let us know why! What does freeform mean to you? You are of course free to put suffixes on manually if you want -- it's a valid way to tag! We are just fascinated by this practice and don't really understand it. Please enlighten us!

I was wondering if I could request the spiderverse characters (Miguel, Hobbie, Noir) meeting and reacting to male spider reader who abnormal tall (like 7 foot kinda abnormal) and morally grey for instance will kill if it means that it could be beneficial rather than having the villain go to jail???
(Also who would end up falling for reader?)

Once he gets over your sheer largeness he’ll become more comfortable and relaxed around you
He falls HARD and QUICK
Even doing missions with you becomes difficult for him, the first time he got choked up or distracted he immediately stopped doing any missions with you
It was like whiplash for you because you were doing all these high risk missions with Miguel regularly then he suddenly drops you with no explanation
You corner him one day and demand to know why he’s acting so weird
You literally corner him…
Standing over him and all angry
He’s feeling 5 different conflicting emotions all at once
He tried to web away from you and without thinking about it you grab him by his neck and shove him back against the wall
He whimpered. WHIMPERED.
You immediately know what’s up and laugh at him some then tell him you feel the same
And that’s how Miguel O’Hara got a shredded gigantic boyfriend

When he first glanced at you he couldn’t help but stare a bit.
I mean. DAMN. What’re they feeding you?
He couldn’t help but say something
“They make them big in your universe?”
The joke surprised you bcc a Spider-Man dressed in all black and a sick hat and coat just teased you.
You laugh some and respond.
“And they make ‘em cute in yours?”
He chokes some.
You smirk at him and introduce yourself
He collects himself quickly and introduces himself too
When you find out he’s from an older timeline
You can’t help but flirt a bit more
“Oh so I should take you to dinner first?” You say with a grin.
You came on so heavy he stayed silent for a bit, just blinking at you
He avoids you for a bit, not because he doesn’t like you or is weirded out. He’s just trying to learn how to respond to your flirting in a way that isn’t staring owlishly
You two are on a mission together and long story short the villain didn’t need to go back to his universe to restore the timeline and was beyond the standard villain evil
while he was fleeing from you two he flung a child into the air and let them drop, expecting them to distract the both of you
“Noir!” You yelled
“On it.” He immediately responded and caught the kid, taking them to safety and comforting them
When you caught the villain you couldn’t hold yourself back.
Needless to say Noir came back to find you covered in blood and dangerously quiet.
It was a sight to see and not one he’ll forget.
“If you’re gunna give me the whole ‘killing makes you as bad as them’ lecture you can save it. I don’t regret it now and I wont regret it ever.” You said firmly, still not meeting his gaze
He just walked over to you and rested a hand on your shoulder. “Good. You shouldn’t.” Was all he said. The return to the spider society was silent
There was a silent agreement between the two of you not to discuss that mission with anyone else. That it was something too personal, somehow.
A few weeks later he asks you out
“Do you want to go out for egg creams sometime?” He asked
“What the hell is an egg cream.”
It’s like the olive theory but with egg creams
He loves your size and secretly loves it when you rest your arm on his head/shoulder.

He laughs when he sees you
“You been drinking your milk, mate?” He chuckled
You rolled your eyes at him.
You talk with him when you next see hi ma few days later
He just sort of appears around you and you don’t question it once so ever
Someone asks why you two are always seen together in a rude tone and Hobie just throws an arm around your shoulder and says “see this lad right here, he’s my best friend. We actually sleep in the same bed—“
You scoff at him and push his arm off
You know he’s being sarcastic and just trying to get the person to fuck off but calling you his best friend made something in your heart flutter
Protectiveness? Loyalty? Endearment? Who the hell knew.
All you know is from then on you started seeking him out more
You sort of became a older brother figure to him
You started checking in on him semi regularly
But one time he stopped responding and you hadn’t seen him for over a week
Obviously, you got worried
You decided to go visit his universe to see if something happened
When you got there your eyes were immediately violently assaulted with flashing images and constantly changing scenery
It threw you off mid-swing and you crashed to the ground
You had to shut your eyes so you wouldn’t get nauseous
Then you felt a hand on your shoulder and squint up to see Hobie who looked confused and concerned
He helps you back to his place and basically tosses you down on his beat up couch then asks why you’re there
You just grumble something about him not responding and not seeing anyone for over a week
He flops down next to you and lays his legs on your lap
“Aw you big bloke, you were worried ‘bout me.” He says smirking
You shove his legs off and stand up
“Don’t get used to it” you say with a grin

Nariander comes to and settles down: Ah', my apologies. I almost lost myself..
Lamb embraces Nariander to his surprise, but reciprocates

Nariander yells back: LAMB!!
lamb: coming!! (the crown morphs into a huge middle finger and lingers in the Fox's face)

RECAPS/EXPLANATION OF THE STORY THUS FAR!
so basically the Lamb was hoping the Fox would be able to help them save the lamb species with magic or something, and Nariander comes over and is like, the Fox is a jerk it'll make you think it can help you and wont, tells a story of someone of another lamb begging Nariander to undo their siblings death, essentially turning him on to the idea bringing someone back from death and creating life in general. Lamb doesn't pick this up and is like oh okay don't trust the fox because he's mean ig. Nai suggests the lamb just MAKE a lamb the old fashion way and just accept it wont be a full one, there's no one to say you can't or ummm send you the hell or something because you have babies when you're supposed to bring death, not life, Lamb says HUH WHAT?? WHAT'D YOU JUST SAY? saying Nariander was sent to his prison because he had kids, Nariander doesn't wanna talk about it so he messes with the Lamb and they sorta kinda start something going and they're interrupted by the Fox and the Fox is like STOP!!!!!!! I'll send your new babies to the after life again if you test me bitch! It was Shamuras idea btw lol, and Nariander doens't know it was his sibling that separated Aym and Baal from their mother and only blames the Fox for them being trapped with him. The Lamb knows better and courses Nariander to stop arguing with the Fox, but doesn't tell Nari that they know it realy WAS Shamura's doing, or they had something to do with it..

Always You (Supercorp)- Chapter 3

Lena's POV
After the red kryptonite takes effect, Lena has to find a way to bring Kara back from the darkness. (or Evil Kara and slight smut)

Lena watched in horror as Lex opened the pod, the red Kryptonite still glowing. Kara opened her eyes, and Lena's heart sank as she saw Kara's eyes glow red instead of the familiar, comforting blue.
Lex laughed "Well, Supergirl, now that I've introduced you to your true self, maybe you'll share my views. You'll understand that most humans really aren't worth it."
Kara looked at Lena, her expression cold and distant, and uttered the words that shattered Lena's heart: "I know what you mean."
Kara then shook her head and flew off, leaving Lena standing there in shock. As she watched Kara fly away, the pain Lena felt was visceral. It was like someone reached inside her chest and tore out a piece of her heart. The piece that she had been ignoring for the past few weeks. Lena couldn't help but feel like this was all her fault. Lex knew how to exploit Supergirl's feelings and he used Lena to do it. If she had been there for Kara, if they could have spoken, everything could have been different. Now, after pushing Kara away, she had lost her to the darkness. 
She turned to Lex, hatred burning in her eyes, 
"What did you do?"
He smiled, "I've turned her into a monster."
Lena choked on a sob. 
"Why?" she asked him, begging for some sort of explanation. She wanted to understand why her brother was so ready to destroy her, to destroy everything.
He turned to the window to survey the city, a look of mischief on his face that reminded her of when they were younger, and shrugged. 
"Chaos". 
Before she could respond, he jumped through the broken window, opening a parachute as he descended. 
Lena fumbled through her pockets for her phone and dialled a number. 
"Alex, I need help."

Later that night, Lena sat in her office, trying to track down any information about Kara's whereabouts. When Lena called, Alex had immediately sprung into action. She and Lena had generated an antidote to the effects of red Kryptonite. But first, they needed to find Kara. Lena scanned the social media sites, hoping for some mention of Kara, but Supergirl was weirdly absent from the feed. Did Kara go underground? 
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Lena looked up, confused. Her secretary had gone for the night, and security was instructed to contact her directly if anyone came to see her. She approached the door with apprehension.
Lena's heart leapt as she opened it to find Kara standing there, dressed as Kara and not Supergirl. She looked like herself, like the sweet and adorable Kara that Lena knew. Kara's sleeves were rolled up and her shirt was unbuttoned at the top. Lena’s throat throat went dry.
"Kara, you're here," she whispered.
"I want you, Lena Luthor," Kara said, before crashing her lips against Lena's and kicking the door shut behind them.
Lena knew that this was wrong. Kara was not herself and would do and say anything to get what she wanted. She was manipulating Lena. But as they continued to kiss, Lena felt herself losing control, giving in to the pleasure of Kara's touch.
Lena's heart was racing as Kara pushed her onto the couch, her lips finding Lena's with a fierce hunger. The kiss was passionate, but it was different this time, rougher, more intense. Lena's arms wrapped around Kara's neck as she pulled her in closer, deepening the kiss, savoring the feeling of Kara's lips moving against hers with raw desire.
Kara's hands slid down to grip Lena's hips, pressing their bodies closer together. Lena moaned as Kara nipped at her bottom lip, her teeth grazing over the sensitive flesh. It was a shock to feel Kara being so aggressive, and Lena knew why. But she couldn't bring herself to stop the kiss. 
Lena could feel the heat building between them as the kiss intensified, and her hands moved up to tangle in Kara's hair, pulling her in even closer. She could feel the strength in Kara's arms as she held her.
Kara's tongue darted into Lena's mouth, exploring every inch, and Lena moaned into the kiss, lost in the sensations. It was like Kara was trying to claim her, and Lena was more than willing to let her. They kissed with a feverish passion, their bodies pressed together as they explored each other's mouths.
Suddenly, Lena felt Kara's fingers fumble with the buttons of her shirt, one by one until it was open, exposing her bare skin. Lena gasped as she felt Kara's hands on her waist, tracing the curves of her body with her fingertips. The heat between her legs intensified as she felt Kara's body pressed against hers, their breaths coming out in ragged gasps. Then, Kara's hands moved down to Lena's pants, undoing the button and slowly pulling down the zipper. Lena moaned softly as she felt Kara's fingers brush against her skin, sending shivers down her spine. Lena saw Kara's eyes glow red as she moved her lips to Lena's neck, leaving a trail of fire.
Almost immediately, Lena was brought back to reality and she pushed Kara away. Lena was panting, her body aching with need. Kara pulled away, her eyes dark with desire. 
"Not like this, Kara," Lena whispered, trying to reason with her. "You're not yourself."
Kara stood up, her expression angry and hurt. 
"What do you want from me, Lena?" Kara spat out, her voice dripping with venom.
Lena's heart clenched. She wanted Kara but not like this. Not when Kara was under the influence of Red Kryptonite, not when Kara was hurting.
"Kara, you don't understand," Lena said, her voice shaking as she scrambled to button up her shirt. "You're not yourself. You're hurting. Let me help you. I'll call Alex and-" "
Kara snarled at Lena, her fists clenching in anger. "I don't need your pity, Lena. I don't need your help. I can take care of myself."
"Kara, please," Lena pleaded, her voice trembling. "Don't do this. You're not alone."
Kara's eyes blazed with fury as she glared at Lena. "You don't get it, do you? You'll never understand what it's like to be alone, to be different. You'll never understand what it's like to be me. You're just like everyone else, aren't you? All you humans want is to to control me, to use me for your own benefit. But when it comes down to it, you don't really want me. You don't want to be with me."
"I want to be with you, but not like this. Not when you're not yourself. You're hurting, and I can't let you do something you'll regret."
Lena searched Kara's eyes, trying to find the blue that haunted her dreams, but to no avail. She saw nothing but blazing red anger staring back at her. 
Kara's eyes narrowed. "Don't you dare try to make excuses for me, Lena. I'm sick of it. It's not even about this- you don't want to fuck me? Fine. But what about the last month? You just cut me off, Lena, after everything we've been through. Like I meant nothing to you. All because I wanted to keep you safe? I'm sick of you playing with my feelings. I'm just sick of it all and I'm done."
"Please, Kara" Lena sobbed, "I'm sorry. You mean everything to me, okay? But this? This isn't you."
"Maybe this is who I should be," Kara said before turning away abruptly.
Lena's heart shattered at Kara's words, and she let her tears fall. She wanted to reach out to Kara, to show her that she cared, that she needed her. But Kara was already flying away, leaving Lena alone with her pain and her heartache.

For a long time, Lena just stood there, alone in her office, staring at the space that Kara had just occupied and wondering what to do next. It felt like everything was falling apart, and she was helpless to stop it. She knew she had to keep trying to reach Kara, to bring her back from the darkness that had taken over her. But how could she do that when Kara was so far gone? What if she never came back to Lena? Her heart felt heavy, like a stone sinking deeper and deeper into the abyss. The world seemed to move in slow motion around her, while she remained in a perpetual state of agony. The thought of Kara being lost to her forever was unbearable. She couldn't picture her life without Kara in it and she silently cursed herself for creating the distance between them. Sure, she was hurt that Kara had lied to her. But losing Kara hurt more than anything. It felt like her breath had been stolen from her, and Kara was the only one who could return it. The thought of never seeing Kara's pure smile again was enough to make Lena feel like she was drowning in a sea of her own tears. Her mind was a tangled web of emotions, a mess of sorrow, guilt and regret. She wished she could go back in time and change things, to stop Kara from slipping away. But time was an unyielding river, constantly pushing forward. 
Her phone rang and she scrambled to locate it. She found it on the floor next to the couch and saw that it was Alex Danvers. She answered immediately. 
"Lena? We have a plan."
And Lena was ready to do anything to bring Kara back. She was ready to fight for Kara, even if it was against Kara herself.

Resident Evil 4 Remake's story is structured like the plot of a romance novel: master post
A few months ago, I wrote up a very quick and dirty outline/explanation of how Resident Evil 4 Remake's story had been restructured from the original game to follow the story beats of a romance novel. At the time, I didn't think it was all that important to explain it super in-depth, but now that more and more people are looking at it, I figured I should probably explain what I mean with each of these beats lmao
1) Call to Adventure / The Meet Cute
All that a meet-cute actually is is the scene in which the characters that the romance is centered around meet for the first time. The intention is to show an initial spark between the characters -- they meet under bizarre/unexpected circumstances and, at some point, both characters become aware of just how significant it is, even if neither says anything about it.
Leon and Ashley's meet-cute starts with her swinging a candelabra at his head and ends with Leon holding her in his arms out in the rain for a period of time that is absolutely too long to be normal for the circumstance. They lock eyes in this moment, and it's meant to be seen as Significant.

2) Refusal of the Call / Rejection of the Relationship
This is the "I'm just imagining things" reaction to the significance of the meet-cute. Both characters treat the spark as though it never happened -- and, usually, it's because there's other external factors influencing their ability or willingness to follow the trail of that spark and see where it goes. Instead of going "Hey, you're cute, can I get your number?" both characters just jump straight to "Well, anyway --" and go back to living their own independent lives apart from each other.
After they both snap out of that weird trance they were in after Leon caught Ashley out the window of the church, he goes right back to treating her like a mission objective, and she just has absolutely no idea what to make of him at all. Ashley spends the next few sections of gameplay in shock and disbelief with lines like "Seriously, this cannot be happening." and "I just wanna go home..." Leon ignores all of her complaints, keeps her moving even when she asks for a break, and doesn't really speak much to her at all other than to bark orders at her.
3) Acceptance of the Quest / Giving the relationship a chance
Something Happens that forces both characters back into each other's lives and/or personal attention, and they both find that they do Like each other, actually -- even if that feeling of "like" isn't anything super significant. It could be something as simple as realizing that they enjoy the other's company and wanting to see/talk to the other more often.
This arguably starts when Leon and Ashley first run into the cabin and Leon puts a comforting hand on her back that he absolutely did did not have to put there -- but it's definitely in full swing after the cabin sequence is over. Personally, I would say that it's the revelation about Ashley having a plaga in her that's the Something that Happens between them. The whole mission starts to become a whole lot more personal, because now it's not just about surviving and escaping -- now it's about making sure that Ashley stays Ashley.
She starts to open up to him more, and he suddenly becomes much warmer towards her, as well. He's quick to reassure her ("I won't let that happen. I promise.") and not only responds to her when she talks, but also begins talking to her unprompted as well.
This is also the first time Leon ever tries hitting on Ashley with the "Seems this isn't your first time running from creeps" line, and it fails spectacularly.
4) Trials and Temptations / Three Dates
This one is probably the one that needed the most explaining LMAO I shouldn't have let this one go. The "three dates" don't have to/usually aren't meant to be actual, literal dates in romance novels. They're just three significant events that happen between the couple that builds and then reinforces their bond. (It also doesn't necessarily have to be three -- some stories only do two, some do five, etc. The point is that Things Are Happening that strengthen the relationship.)
That is why I said that their three "dates" are:
1) Ashley busting the window open after the Mendez boss fight, helping brush the embers off of Leon, and helping to pull him to his feet. This is the first time the two of them actually smile at each other and the first time they start to act as a team.

2) Salazar's introduction ("The girl's just fine. With me."). Leon wants so badly to be that cool guy in an 80s movie who shows up out of nowhere and puts his arm around a beautiful girl and looks at some dickhead harassing her and goes "This guy giving you a hard time, babe?" This is the closest he's ever gotten to and will ever get to being that in his life. He's not cool enough to ever actually be that guy for real.

3) The road to the Water Hall (Leon jumping across the chandeliers + this is the first time the "knight and the princess" allegory is stated) (You could also include the Garrador here, because if you take Ashley down there after the fact, there's special dialogue that happens that's... God, Leon sucks at this whole flirting thing. He just sucks, dude.)
5) Midpoint Crisis / I-need-you-but-can’t-have-you
Everything is going so well... until it isn't anymore. The three dates have given the couple a glimpse of how special and important this relationship could be, which is great -- until it becomes a problem. One of the characters gets freaked out by the intensity of the relationship and pulls back out of fear, because there's something else happening in their life that's bigger than either character and more important to be addressed.

In Leon and Ashley's case, it's Ashley's plaga. Saddler takes control of her briefly and gets a hold of Leon's knife, stabs him, and then threatens to cut her own throat. When his hold over her breaks, she's terrified. She needs Leon now more than ever because of this, but she's more afraid of hurting him than losing herself, so she runs away from him in tears.

6) The Road Back / Pulling Back Together
Basically, the plot forces the couple back together, and -- due to the raw, open vulnerability caused by the Midpoint Crisis -- their bond is stronger than ever. The feelings change from "yeah, I like them" to "I want them." Real intimacy starts to form and build here, because the interest in and attraction to each other is allowed by both characters to be acknowledged. This is usually where the sexual tension starts to really kick into high gear, and the audience is just waiting for that moment when it all breaks open.

This starts with the pep talk that Leon gives Ashley when he finds her again -- which is romantically framed and coded with its imagery and cinematography. It continues through the entire Grand Hall segment, which includes the moment in the game in which Leon is at his boldest in terms of expressing his attraction to her. This is the point in the game in which their relationship is at its most playful. They tease each other and flirt and pass compliments back and forth -- and, for a while, it feels like the two of them are unstoppable and able to take on the world together.

7) The Fall
"The fall" is the shortened version of "The moment they actually fall in love." It's the "oh god, I think I love them" moment. The two characters do not necessarily have to admit to each other that they've experienced "the fall" -- and usually, at least one of them doesn't. But they both experience that moment where it hits them.
We see Ashley "fall" at the start of her gameplay segment, where she takes Leon's earlier words to heart and draws strength from them. ("I won't run. Wait for me, Leon.") He's inspired her to strive to be more than she is, and she embraces the way that he makes her feel, in that moment.

We see Leon "fall" as soon as he catches the key that she tosses down to him. He looks up at her with stars in his eyes and offers to catch her if she jumps down. An interesting detail to note is that this is the first and one of the only times in RE4make that Nick Apostolides reverts to using the tone/voice that he used for Leon in RE2make. It's soft and sweet and gentle as he makes her an offer that has no reason to be made, just for the sake of getting to hold her in his arms again.

And, in order to drive home the point, this all happens during a scene that was framed, shot, and directed to mirror/mimic the balcony scene in Romeo & Juliet.
8) Dark moment / The Break Up
Once again, Something Happens and comes between them -- and this one is way, way worse than the Midpoint Crisis. This isn't "I'm scared to be with you" -- it's "I can't be with you." Hope for the relationship is completely lost, and both characters become overwhelmed in their individual despair.
Verdugo breaks them up physically -- not once, but twice. And that second time involves Leon being forced to watch Ashley endure Salazar's weird "ritual" and be unable to stop it or do anything to help her. He just has to sit with that failure and suffer through it until he's literally thrown away and discarded while Ashley screams his name.

When Leon finally finds Ashley again, we see him confront the one moment in the game when he honestly, truly loses hope. He sits down on the floor at Ashley's bedside, and there's nothing more that he can do than wait for her to wake up. Some part of him has already become convinced that they won't make it out of there alive -- not both of them, at least. Not together. And he's ready to commit suicide as a contingency plan.

9) The Sacrifice
This is the "do or die" moment for the relationship in a romance novel. This is the moment where the decision is made to confront not just the external force keeping them apart, but also the internal flaws that are feeding into that avoidant urge. The couple decides that their desire to be together is stronger and more important than whatever fear or force is holding them back, and though it's terrifying to do it, they stand up for the relationship in the face of opposition.
In RE4make, we see this play out through the sequence in which Leon carries Ashley to Luis's lab and how the two of them, against all physical and mental odds, manage to remove each other's plagas. This is especially emotionally significant for Leon, who says the words out loud: "This time, it has to be different..." He's openly acknowledging that his trauma from Raccoon City is what made him so ready to pull the trigger on himself back in that holding cell. Here, now, he puts his foot down, confronts that trauma, and says "No. I have to beat this."
And he does, even at great physical cost to himself. But the sacrifice was worth it, because it was for her.
10) Declaration
In a very literal sense, it's the declaration of love. It's an outward, spoken confirmation of the bond they share, now that the trial from the Sacrifice has been overcome. Traditionally in romance novels, this happens with the actual words "I love you."
But RE4make isn't a traditional romance novel, and Capcom has an entire fanbase of angry nerds who take fictional relationships too seriously to navigate through. So, instead of an explicit "I love you" what we got instead was an explicit verbal confirmation of their bonded status as a team.
"Hey... We're a team, right?"
"Keep this up? I'll be out of a job."
11) The HEA
"HEA" stands for "Happily ever after."
While I could (and did) say that Leon and Ashley literally ride off into the sunrise together, that does feel disingenuous. Even though it's true and the imagery is there, they don't really have a happily ever after. Not really. This is the only part that's missing from RE4make.
And that's because RE4make isn't just a romance on its own -- it's a fairy tale set inside of a story that's self-aware and knows that fairy tales aren't real. And so both Leon and Ashley wake up from this shared dream of a romance they've been having, as reluctantly as they do, because it's time for them to come back to reality.
Fairy tales aren't real. Romance novels aren't real.
Their feelings are real. But life doesn't work that way. Not for them.
They may not have a happily ever after, but they do have this moment to be together -- and for them, it's enough.
Because it has to be.

Summary: Since the birth of their twin kids, George and y/n's love life has been dead. Both worry that the other doesn't finf them attractive anymore.

The last three months have been exhausting for y/n and her husband George but also so fulfilling. Y/n has given birth to their twin sons Anthony and Alastor. Redheads, of course,just like their father. Their nights were filled with crying babies, dirty diapers and a lack of sleep but they absolutely loved their children and they would do anything for them.
It's been little over a year after the Battle of Hogwarts where everyone lost friends, family members and loved ones. But now they were a real family and everything was perfect. Well, almost everything.
The love life of y/n and George was practically dead. Y/n knew that it was normal not to have sex the forst werks after giving birth but still George never even made a single move to change that now and it started to worry the young mother.
She was scared that he didn’t find her attractive anymore. She gained weight and got stretch marks which was actually normal during a pregnancy but she still believed that George didn’t like her appearance anymore.
What she didn't know was that George was struggling with himself too. And naturally he came to his best friend and twin brother Fred to talk to him about his own problem.
“I tell you, it’s been so long since we had sex…” He explained, worried.
Fred sighed. “Is this about you gaining weight again? I told you it’s sympathy weight. Nothing unusual for a guy”
“I know… but still. First I lost my ear and now I gained weight… I can't even believe she is still with me. She's crazy, there is no other explanation.”
George tried to sound funny as always but deep down he was still worried.
“Maybe we should make a potion to lose weight. We could make a lot of money with it… and I could test it on myself.”
Suddenly there was a knock on the door and y/n entered. She gave George a quick kiss, this was the only physical touch they shared, apart from loosely cuddling at night.
“The kids are asleep right now…” She told him.
Actually she came to talk to Fred but with George in the same room, she couldn’t. So they sat for a while in an awkward silence until one of the babies started crying. George stood up and walked out of the room to take care of it.
“So Freddie… I need your advice” Y/n started quickly. “I… have a little problem right now… about George…”
Fred could already guess what it was.
“Well… I think that George doesnt find me attractive anymore.”
“And why do you think that?” Fred was curious.
“Because… i gained weight during the pregnancy, i got stretchmarks and… and since the kids were born we never… got a little… closer than just a simple kiss.”
Fred laughed. For him it was like one of those comedy shows on the muggle tv that y/n once showed him. But she didn’t find it funny at all.
“Perhaps you could talk to your husband?”
“But what if he tells me that he really doesnt find me attractive anymore? What if he only stays because of the kids?”
“Come on, y/n. He has always been crazy for you. Ever since we were kids. I have an idea. How about you two go on a date tonight?”
“And the kids?”
“I will take care of them. They love their uncle Freddie. After all, I have never met someone who didn't like me.”
“Uh… Umbridge?”
“The evil toad doesn’t count. But seriously, tonight you're gonna go on a date.”
Y/n sighed but agreed. In the evening she and George were eating at a romantic restaurant and they finally had time for themselves again. They talked about things that they haven’t talked about in a long time and it felt refreshing to be together again. After their date they got back home. Fred put a note on the door, saying that the kids were in his room and that he would take care of them in the night. Then he put a little smirking smiley at the end of the note.
George and y/n went to their bedroom and got ready for bed. George sat on the bed and y/n came in with a beautiful set of lingerie on. She sat next to her husband and caressed his thigh. He, however, backed away.
“Georgie… we need to talk.” Y/n said in a serious tone.
“Yes, i think we need to talk…” George agreed.
“Do you still find me attractive?” Y/n bursted out.
“Of course. You are the sexiest woman ever.”
“Then why do you seem so uncomfortable with me touching you?”
“Because…” George sighed. “Because I am not attractive enough anymore. During your pregnancy I gained weight. And on top of that I’m still missing my ear… I just don’t want you to be repulsed by me…”
“Darling… I love you. I could never be repulsed by you. You are so sexy and handsome and attractive and… I just wish we would… have sex again. I miss the feeling.” Y/n took his hand and sat a little closer. “I just thought with my stretchmarks and my weight that you were repulsed by me.”
“You’re crazy. I love you. You are so sexy… and you look like you do because you carried our children. That’s the most beautiful thing in the world.”
“So can we… maybe… tonight…”
George cut his wife off by pressing his lips against hers in a passionate kiss. They kept kissing for so long and after a while he lifted her up and sat her down on his lap where they kept making out and caressing each other like they haven't done in so long. And with that they reignited the fire that burned so low after the past months. And oh, how they needed that.

Maybe I can use that someday (edit: naaah)
Okay. I think... I have an inkling... of what Evil Morty had in mind when he said "you are a little different though Rick" and "maybe I can use that some day".

And it might provide some insight on why he's still on the Curve.
I-I think there... could be... some basis/buildup for the following theory (I can't really say there is buildup, because it's all a matter of interpretation right now), but I gotta admit there are A LOT of "ifs" in this equation, soo... It's all just a hypothesis.
Anyway, here goes. ('tis a long post)
So when S7E5 aired out, I remember thinking: What on earth is so dangerous that Evil Morty, who single-handedly took down the Citadel of Ricks, needs help to deal with???
There are a few contestants for this pedestal:
1. A civilization outside the Curve (What the f*** is that?!?)

2. One of Rick Prime's creations. I mean, we know he didn't like to manage people any more, so it's unlikely he ruled an empire that suddenly became headless after his untimely departure, but given that he liked building, as Rick C-137 put it, "elaborate shit", and that he had "free time" it's still possible we haven't seen the last of his creations. No way he was just sitting ducks in the Omega Device v2 waiting for someone to visit. Maybe he made something that hoarded resources that Evil Morty discovered and would like to loot?
3. The weird Morty cult (eh, weak)
4. Maybe Evil Morty doesn't need help to protect himself from someone, maybe he needs help to build something. E.g. another dimensional drive, that separates him from everyone else?
5. Maybe Evil Morty didn't have anything specific in mind when he said that to Rick C-137. Maybe he just recognized the potential there. (although I cannot help feeling this is NOT what it is; that CHIN TAP. What are you thinking, Evil Morty???)
6. Oooooor....
Well... I know we all think that whoever Rick is responsible for the cables in Evil Morty's head is long dead (I mean... I've read the fanfics and seen the fanart, although "Evil Rick" typically stars in those :P)...
...But I can't shake off the feeling that he is alive and well somewhere.
Which, on first thought, doesn't make any sense:
Exhibit A: That Rick (Imma gonna call him Puppetmaster Rick) is obviously not around Evil Morty any more!

Exhibit B: Evil Morty never seemed scared while in the Citadel, just fed up, tired and miserable.

He was okay with making himself a public figure by running for president; it seems to me he wasn't particularly worried a specific Rick would recognize and go after him (and it should be relatively easy to tell apart Evil Morty if you actually know what you're looking for: you only have to scan Mortys' heads for cables).
Exhibit C: Supposing that guy really is still alive and Evil Morty really is scared of him/hates him, but for some reason was unable to kill him originally, wouldn't it be hilariously easy to kill him once he got the whole Citadel's arsenal and manpower at his disposal?

So why did I think Puppetmaster Rick is alive in the first place?
The answer is this:

The mention of this... "super weird" Rick.
When this scene played out, my first thought was that "Super weird" Rick had an unhealthy obsession with tulips or something. Or that he filled all his creations with polka dolts. Something so crazy and silly that would make any other Rick go "ugh" and decide to give him a wide breadth, no matter how clever and valuable Super Weird Rick's brain was.
After the reveal that Evil Morty was the one really talking in this scene and that he had been going after Rick C-137 specifically, I reached the conclusion that this was all made up. That the "spectrum of all Ricks" was not real, it was something that Evil Morty came up with so as to provide a non-suspicious explanation on why he's targeting Rick C-137 in case Rick C-137 escaped. (Even though, you know, Evil Morty must have filtered through which Ricks to attack somehow... a Doofus Rick who specializes in baking wouldn't be particularly useful to Evil Morty. So... it makes sense that the Spectrum of All Ricks is real...?)
And I know that in Pocket Mortys Rick Prime was the one called "weird Rick"; but is Rick Prime really weird by Evil Morty's standards? He thinks all Ricks are trash, and Rick Prime seems a huge piece of trash as well, why would he be "weird" to Evil Morty?
In fact, what kind of Rick would seem "weird" to Evil Morty?

Why, we already know the answer to that! Rick C-137 seems weird.
Of course he does. He seems overly attached to his Morty. Tells him to stay out of the Prime Fight, to keep him safe. Is motivated over avenging his wife.
Other Ricks also call Rick C-137 similar stuff.

So... Rick C-137 is a... rogue, passionate, irrational Rick... Irrational for having attachments, that is.
Wouldn't Evil Morty --if he's a clone Morty who's been passed around several uncaring Ricks, if he's been discarded countless times-- also find Rick C-137 and his... unusual attachment to one specific Morty "weird"?
And if my theory is right... Evil Morty himself has also passed through the hands of another Rick who was... let's say, overly attached to him. Like, extremely so.
Wouldn't such a Rick seem... super weird to Evil Morty?
Although, why on earth would he appear on the Spectrum of All Ricks? Do dead Ricks also appear in the spectrum? It's already a spectrum of infinite Ricks, why make it even more bloated by including dead Ricks?? Because if Puppetmaster Rick did to Evil Morty something as horrible to as the implications I describe in the above link, why on earth would Evil Morty let him live?!
WELL.
Imagine you're Evil Morty. You're the sort of person who:
puppeteered Evil Rick
did not let Evil Rick commit suicide when he couldn't take it any more (although you made him pass out, which is slightly nice?)
could not tear your eyes away from Evil Rick when he got brutally murdered.

It is implied (I think) that the reason Evil Morty did all that to Evil Rick is that (a) Evil Rick was beating him up and (b) Evil Rick "adopted" him, drunkedly promising that this relationship, however problematic, would last forever, they could be grandpa and grandson-- oh, wait, no. If you don't shut up it's back to the agency with you.
Now, supposing Puppetmaster Rick did... something... to Evil Morty... which, whatever it was, reduced his resting face from this:

and abused him so much he ended up thinking this was Not A Big Deal:

...Now, if you were Evil Morty, and the option to doom Puppetmaster Rick in a Fate Worse Than Death was available, would you kill him, or would you trap him in an eternal torture of some sort?

(this comes to mind, which is played as a joke, but you get the idea. This sort of thing is possible in the Rick and Morty universe. It could be a time loop. It could be a clone vat buried deep underground in absolute darkness. It could be a modification in Puppetmaster Rick's brain implants.)
I guess it all depends on how scared vs angry Evil Morty was of this guy. It depends on whether he grasped the first chance available to finally kill him or whether he took some extra time to make sure he got to spend the rest of his life appropriately tortured. In any case, because Evil Morty is very pragmatic and patient, I cannot see him doing such a thing unless he was absolutely sure it would last forever.
Or, maybe, if Puppetmaster Rick was an Operation Phoenix expert, killing him in a finite way was a lot more difficult than simply trapping him alive somewhere.
Or, alternatively, maybe Evil Morty had no choice on the matter. It occurred to me the other day that the first Rick we have seen Evil Morty kill with his own two hands was "Nice" Rick. Every other Rick whose death he is responsible for, he has killed indirectly; whether through the puppeteered Evil Rick, a mob of furious Mortys, his Citadel guards, hacked portal fluid that he manipulated Ricks to use (by telling them "nobody leave, everybody stay" lol) or by re-routing their Phoenix Protocol to a different vat... one that simply happened to have razor blades at the bottom. So I'm wondering if whatever implant Evil Morty has in his head "forbid" him from killing Puppetmaster Rick (or any Rick) and he was able to hack through that restriction only relatively recently. Anyway, I'm aware this particular theory is a stretch (is puppeteering Evil Rick really that different from lifting a gun yourself? I don't think so) and I don't think it needs to be true for Puppetmaster Rick still being around.
So, let's hypothesize that Evil Morty did, in fact, trap Puppermaster Rick somewhere from where he was reasonably certain Puppetmaster Rick would never be able to escape. Evil Morty went on to live in the Citadel, get further abused and neglected, abandon the hope of ever having a family, puppeteer Evil Rick, become president, ESCAPE THE CURVE. HOORAY!!!

I know we fans have been joking about whether that reset Evil Morty as well or not, but the truth is, it would only be a minor inconvenience to him (although extremely annoying). He has his own untainted portal fluid and the rift is still open, he could easily portal either right back to where he was before or to a random spaceship, then back through the rift.
But... wouldn't that free any Ricks who happened to be trapped in various places? Including the above described (hypothetical) Puppetmaster Rick?
Of course, portal travel was still broken (and apparently Evil Morty broke it so effectively that it also trapped Rick Prime, who makes his own batches) so it's not like Puppetmaster Rick would be able to go far...
...Unless he promptly Operation Phoenixed himself to escape that way.
Or unless Evil Morty never knew what his dimension number was, so there was no need for Puppermaster Rick to run anywhere because Evil Morty would have no idea where he'd be sent to.
Anyway. If we follow that hypothetical scenario, the Puppetmaster Rick who Evil Morty went into a lot of trouble to imprison (and torture) just escaped. Evil Morty could receive some notification in his eyepatch about this change, or he could reach that conclusion by the neon green wave pulsing by.
He could have immediately portaled back to Puppetmaster Rick's prison to find him gone. Or he could have been all "NOPE! I just escaped, I refuse to deal with this anymore! I've got my revenge, and I'm free now!" and went on with his life outside the Curve.
But, uh... that wouldn't negate Puppetmaster Rick still being out there.
And Evil Morty might think it unlikely any random Citadel Rick (who just happened not to be on the Citadel at the time of its destruction) would be motivated enough investigate the Citadel's ruins, reach the conclusion that the President was responsible, and decide to go after him... (it is unlikely; why would any Rick bother to do that?)
...But wouldn't you say hypothetical Puppetmaster Rick would be motivated enough to go after his previous sidekick?
SO.
In that scenario, Evil Morty is definitely hiding.

Maybe he's taking advantage of the un-rifted Curve's "wall" properties to create a shield for his minecraft base. Maybe he's taking advantage of some other, specific property of this particular universe to strengthen his shield. Maybe he's hiding his brainwaves, blending them with the brainwaves of the Morty (or Mortys) living in this one universe. Maybe he's closely monitoring the Curve for anyone going out.
But in any case, he knows that --sooner or later-- he will probably have to deal with Puppetmaster Rick. And sure, Evil Morty has already moved mountains, and defeated this guy once, so he knows he can do it again... So I wouldn't say that Evil Morty is scared of him, per se...
...but he might be. This would be the Rick who scarred him so horribly he thought hundreds of naked tortured Mortys were small potatoes (Rick C-137, Rick Prime, and any other Rick would only try to kill him; Puppetmaster Rick would probably try to pick up from where he left off). And even if he's not scared, I'd haphazard a guess that Evil Morty is repulsed by him. He wouldn't want to meet this guy again. Unlike Rick C-137, who lived to see Rick Prime slain, Evil Morty is no longer motivated by revenge, he seeks peace. Wouldn't fighting Puppetmaster Rick again be extremely emotionally taxing, probably more so than puppeteering Evil Rick and running the Citadel were?
...and wouldn't Puppetmaster Rick be particularly dangerous for Evil Morty, because he'd know all his brain-related tricks, since he is the one who came up with them in the first place...!
...Wouldn't it be better, when that time came, to not face Puppetmaster Rick alone?
Wouldn't it better to have Rick C-137 at his side; one of the most powerful Ricks? One of the most dangerous Ricks in terms of arsenal, intelligence and capabilities, but also a Rick unmotivated to turn against Evil Morty and also a Rick enslaved to him?

(and wouldn't Evil Morty appear completely cruel and heartless and evil if he demands that Rick C-137 shoot at Puppetmaster Rick through a poor Morty who is begging them not to harm his beloved grandfather... who Evil Morty would know is not saying that out of his own free will, but of course he does not trust Rick C-137 enough to divulge this detail...? Or if he handed the recently freed Morty a gun, allowing him to kill Puppetmaster Rick and therefore also gain some sort of closure and restore his autonomy, but appearing to Rick C-137 like he is forcing the poor Morty to kill his own beloved grandpa and therefore coming off as completely unhinged?)
And I gotta say, Evil Morty DID give me the impression of being huddled in his space minecraft snowglobe. Returning to live ON (but not IN) the Curve. We weren't shown him exploring the great unknown, although he MUST have done that as well, given that he discovered that weird place with the crystal monsters. He returned home as soon as possible from that weird crystal place, and didn't even bother to remove his spacesuit when he arrived home. It seemed to me that he wanted to do as little as possible with the outside world.
Compare this with how relieved and happy he looked the first moment he escaped the Curve.
Is he just too tired? Did the novelty of freedom simply wear off, the infinite loneliness wear him down? Is his shelved-away trauma catching up to him, replacing the relief, happiness and peace he seeks with emptiness...? (all probably true)
...or did something else change as well, something that prevents him from actually feeling safe?
...So.
Like I said, a lot of "ifs".
But, if the "maybe I can use that someday" is not Evil Morty simply recognizing the potential, generally speaking, of having Rick C-137 being enslaved to him; if Evil Morty did have something specific in mind, then I'd guess that --from a story-telling perspective-- it would be something for which the foundations have already been lain in the story.
I like this theory a lot, and I like to believe that the "ifs" are close to the truth, but obviously I don't actually know that :P I'm sure that whatever the reason Evil Morty is still on the Curve, the story is going to be incredible! :D
Edit: I just stopped believing and got repulsed by my own theory lol
I really hate the idea that, after everything he's been through, Evil Morty is not Free outside the Curve. I don't mind him being huddled against the horrors of the infinite, but I hate the idea that he's still scared of Ricks, and that this fear drove him to camouflage his existence by living next to the Curve. I want to believe that the reason we were not shown him frolicking in the infinite is that he already did it and has had his fill, not that it would be dangerous for him to wander around.
I hate even more the idea that Evil Morty had chosen to resort to torturing Puppetmaster Rick all this time. I want to believe that (regardless of the atrocities he has stooped to after he decided to leave the Curve) at the moment he freed himself from Puppermaster Rick in the long past, Evil Morty was not "evil" yet. That his integrity and morals and need for freedom were originally stronger than his cruelty and hate and that he prioritized feeling safe (aka quickly killing Puppetmaster Rick to be safe once and for all) over enacting revenge (aka trapping Puppetmaster Rick in a hellish fate). That he had not sunk so low yet. Otherwise it kinda... it's like it negates the message of his story. It feels like a defeat. Like another moral battle he lost instead of one where he won his freedom back. Like another thing Puppetmaster Rick took from him.
He did not seem nervous when his shield temporarily collapsed by Rick C-137 consolidating dimensions. If he thought a specific Rick was after him, specifically, and one as particularly dangerous as Puppetmaster Rick as well, wouldn't the happenings send a million alarm bells ringing in his head? And wouldn't he be a lot more careful about leaving behind tech that could be traced back to him during the Prime fight?
Adios, theory. You were fun for a while.
Maybe it's simply like Morty said: "Nobody quits twitter". Maybe Evil Morty simply wants to use the shield properties of the Curve for his own benefit. Maybe there's some plot point or lore we weren't shown yet, which will be revealed in the future seasons. Or maybe we've all been misjudging him, and his humanity and loneliness are catching up to him, and he occasionally wants to check on how other people are doing.
Edit 2: I have... restarted believing my theory...?
First of all, Evil Morty seemed to know immediately who would be responsible for the "Curve Stability Compromised" alarm: the one Rick who knew how the Curve works, because he's the one Rick who actually made it! Plus some other Ricks appeared unable to create their own portal fluid (remember that old-man Rick who hung out with the Mortytown Locos, who was creating bootleg portal fluid, but whose "math was off"?) And since Evil Morty destroyed the Citadel, they'd be unable to go get more of it... So if Puppetmaster Rick was one of those Ricks who had to buy his own portal fluid, then ever since the destruction of the Citadel he'd be trapped, able to travel to different universes only by... rerouting himself during Operation Phoenix (an accommodation for Ricks Evil Morty obviously doesn't have in his home base). So in this scenario, Evil Morty is staying close to the Curve not so much out of fear, but more as a precaution. If Puppetmaster Rick can make his own portal fluid, of course, all bets are off.
Evil Morty should be adequately confident that his trail has vanished, gone cold by now. The last Puppetmaster Rick would have seen of him would be during season one, at best. Puppetmaster would have known him as "Morty 79⊢⊇V" (or something like that); but Evil Morty has destroyed this record and assumed a new identity. It would be very difficult to connect who he was before to the Morty President, to the Morty who escaped the Curve (and I bet only Rick C-137 and Morty Prime know some Morty escaped the Curve; unless they told other surviving Mortys). The best Puppetmaster Rick can do is search for his brainwaves or dimensional signature (which must probably be very effective), but he's not looking for "Evil Morty". He has no reason to think there is any Morty outside the Curve. He might not even be able to tell whether his old sidekick is dead or alive by now (if Evil Morty is efficient enough in hiding his presence).
So in all these scenarios, Evil Morty staying close to the Curve is a strategic decision based on caution, not one borne of panic (which I like, because I don't want Evil Morty to be scared any more).
And it just occurred to me that, if Puppetmaster Rick is still alive, he would have prepared himself for the eventuality of their encounter (same as I'm sure Evil Morty has done). He knows how Evil Morty's implant works, and its remains are still in his head. I'd bet anything he has fabricated a device or instrument or weapon to shoot at his head (much like Evil Morty's finger guns) to instantly override the implant and regain control. And Evil Morty would know that, he'd be able to tell immediately what said weapon is for. Man, their encounter would be terrifying.

Jacka:You don't remember, do you? Well...first of all. Do you know where you are?
Ai: This is... this is a prison.
Jacka:Correct! Yes, I should introduce myself. I'm...I'm Jackalope. Well, you can call me Jacka...? But call me whatever you want!
Ai: Nice to meet you. I'm...Ai. I'm the administrator of this prison.
Jacka: Nice to meet you, Ai. I'm glad to see you're swallowing so quickly! Well, do you remember that much?
Jacka: I'll be quick, but can you get ready to leave the room?
Ai: Where are we going?
Jacka: We're going to go around the prison to where the prisoners are. This is a small prison, so I'm sure you'll be able to figure out the map in no time... but it would be nice to have an explanation, wouldn't it?
Ai: Okay, let's go.
Jacka: Um...do you mind if I hold you?
Ai: Can't you walk by yourself?
Jacka: Well, well, well... look! Your stride is different, isn't it?
Ai:Sigh...I guess we have no choice.
[Footsteps]
Jacka: There's your room now, and my room, and storage and dining room. There's also a shower room.
Ai: Are there any rules?
Jacka: Hmm, why don't you decide...? You are the administrator, right?
Ai: Do you know how it feels to suddenly have power in a strange place?
Jacka: Do you think I can understand other people's feelings?
Ai: ...I lose. Tell me the next room.
[Door opens]
Jacka: The next room is a very special place, so listen carefully. This is the Panopticon. You can look around and keep an eye on all the prisoners too. They're all sleeping now, though.
Ai: Prisoners...
Jacka: Are you worried?Well, it's not comforting, but they are all girls about your age. I'm sure you'll get to know them quickly. Well, they are all called to be evil person.
Yes, let me introduce all of you! I think it will be much easier for you that way, rather than going about your business without knowing anything about them.
Ai:agree.. We need efficiency in our work.
Jacka: You're very motivated, aren't you? You're not even intimidated by the prisoners. That's worth explaining.
Jacka: Okay, first then, prisoner number 001, Tsuguha. She is the youngest girl here, 12 years old. She seems a little cautious, so please be gentle with her.
Ai: An elementary school student, huh? I wonder if I can be gentle.
Jacka: You might be able to force her to disclose information by frightening her, but there are not many prisoners in this prison. We can unravel their information over time. If so, don't you think it's worth being gentle?
Ai: Maybe so. But they are equally bad people here. We will not know until we interact with them.
Jacka: It's good that you are willing to do this, but don't overdo it. I don't want you to miss the truth. Next.
Jacka: Prisoner number 002, Jun. She's the staunchest of them all. She's not very sociable.
Ai: Hmm.Is intimidation sometimes necessary?
Jacka: I'm scared! I may have to make you learn to be nice...
Jacka: Let's move on already!!Prisoner number 003 Kizuna. Hmmm, she seems relatively bright and normal among the prisoners. But she might be the one I don't understand the most.
Ai: What do you mean you don't know her well?
Jacka: She is more ambiguous than the other prisoners. It's like there's something the prison can't detect.
Jacka: You are halfway there. Keep up the good work. Prisoner 004, Tuzuri. Hmmm. She seem calmer than the other prisoners. Maybe too calm, in fact.
Ai: How can he be calm in the presence of potential bad guys? I can say this now that I don't know anything about them, but I find it more suspicious when people are calm.
Jacka: My explanation is only an image, but it may indicate that we should also value our intuition.
Jacka: Alright, well, let's move on. Prisoner number 005, Itoho. Hmmm, she is the oldest one. Perhaps that's why she has a certain amount of leeway.
Ai: Can i stand up to an older opponent?
Jacka: You threaten younger people, but are intimidated by older people?
Ai: Don't drag out the joke...I'm starting to look foolish. I still don't really understand proper communication.
Jacka: I don't think intimidation is allowed, but we are here to record what you feel and what you learn, so it's up to you how you behave.
Jacka: last. Prisoner number 006, Rinne. You can tell at first glance. There is something bizarre about her. Now you are pure and innocent, for better or worse, so be careful not to be consumed by her pressure.
Ai: ...I definitely have a sense of responsibility as an administrator. I don't know if I have the dignity, but I am ready to manage these girls. I will not be defeated so easily. I don't know if I can defeat violence, but...
Jacka: Oh, you will be fine on that point. The prisoners cannot hurt you.
Ai: Wow, that's great.
[The sound of bells]
Jacka: Just in time. Now, your life as an administrator is about to begin. The girls will be waking up soon.
Jacka: Let's review. You are the keeper of this prison. You have to give the prisoners a "Justice" or "Evil" verdict. You can base your decision on whether they are good people or not, whether you like them or not, the law or not, or any other criteria.If I were to give advice, it would be to give justice to the people you want to model your life on.
Ai: I should have thought about how to address everyone. I'll have to improvise and see what I can do.
Jacka: That's it. They can't hear my voice. good luck.
Ai: Nah...that's terrible.
No, I'm an administrator. I am not going to be outdone by girls my age. First impressions count.
Jacka: That's the spirit. I'll be watching from afar. So, Ai, I look forward to seeing what your choice will be.

Chapter 7: Echoes of Doubt

A few seconds had passed, and Krauser remained crouched in front of the young woman. His insistent gaze awaited an explanation from her. Meanwhile, (Name) tried to catch her breath, still surprised that the man in front of her had not finished her off or handed her over to the sect.
She took a deep breath, her face still colored with pain and fatigue.
"I heard them while I was trying to escape. They're using you-" she said, taking another breath. "I understood that you kidnapped the president's daughter?" she finished with a hint of disgust in her voice. "That poor girl..."
Suddenly, Krauser's knife blade pointed at the journalist's throat. She swallowed hard and raised her eyes to meet Krauser's gaze, which emanated a rage she had never seen before.
"You're not in a position to ask me questions." the man said aggressively as he gently lifted (Name)'s chin with his knife. "Just keep telling me what you heard."
The pressure of the sharp blade on her skin was still there, and (Name) knew she couldn't act tough. She was going to have to follow the former Major's orders for now.
"I understood that even after your kidnapping, the sect leader still didn't trust you-" she said.
"I don't give a damn about that old man. Get to the part where Wesker says he's using me." he said, cutting off the young woman. His gaze was increasingly filled with hatred as she continued to speak.
"He told this woman word for word that he was just using you to get the virus sample, and that after that, they both planned to get rid of you."

The tension in the air was palpable, and Krauser did not move for a few moments, his knife still pointed at the journalist's throat. (Name) could feel the coldness of the blade against her skin.
Suddenly, the man stood up, removing his weapon from the young woman's throat. She took a deep breath, feeling the pressure released from her neck before starting to cough violently. Her vision became blurred as she guessed blood stains on the floor from her coughing. Not this damn thing again...
"That bitch in red dress... I never trusted her." Krauser muttered as he paced around, thinking about what he had just heard. "But Wesker..."
A slight laughter suddenly escaped the young woman's lips. "Is it amusing to you?" He said authoritatively, eyes still filled with resentment as he turned to keep an eye on (Name).
"A little." the young woman replied before coughing one last time, blood staining the corner of her lip.
Her heart raced, her breath suddenly became labored, and she felt a strange sensation rising within her. As she struggled to regain her composure, (Name) felt a sharp pain piercing her head. She placed a hand on her temples, tightly closing her eyes, trying to resist the symptoms that were overtaking her. But the more she fought, the more the pain intensified.
Suddenly, a strange red glow manifested in her pupils. Her eyes had transformed, reflecting the insidious presence of the virus infiltrating her body. An indescribable terror gripped her as she realized she was losing control. Black veins began to appear on her face, gradually spreading throughout her body. They seemed to be the twisted paths through which the virus took hold of her. Every beat of her heart was accompanied by intense pain, as if her veins were contracting and twisting under the grip of the consuming evil.
Despite her fierce will to resist, (Name) felt her strength declining. The virus was winning. And in a strange way, she felt a newfound energy spreading within her, intertwined with the suffering. Her aching muscles seemed to regenerate in an eerie manner, granting her an inexplicable strength.
Rising slowly, she locked eyes with Krauser, an oddly determined gaze piercing through her glowing pupils.
She was now a puppet of darkness, controlled by the virus coursing through her veins, but she felt strangely more powerful than before.

Krauser sensed a growing tension in the air. His gaze hardened even further as he raised his weapon, aiming the barrel directly at the infected woman. His firm and experienced hand demonstrated his usual mastery of situations, but this time, he felt a certain unease. His instincts whispered to him to beware of this new power emanating from her.
"One more step, and I'll shoot."
(Name) abruptly froze at Krauser's threat, but a amused smile spread across her lips. She locked eyes intensely with the former soldier, her glowing pupils reflecting the strange light that now inhabited her being. Her voice, tinged with an uncanny confidence, echoed in the tense air.
"Krauser, even if I kept moving forward, you wouldn't shoot me." Her words resonated with an eerie truth, and she knew it. "After all I've revealed to you, you're afraid, you're starting to doubt, aren't you? You're realizing that everything you've done so far was just the result of manipulation."
Her words seemed to strike the man at his core as she took another step, almost provoking him. And she was right; he didn't shoot. Cracks began to form in his usually confident facade. His eyes scrutinized her face intensely, seeking answers to his own doubts.
"You think you're strong, Krauser, but in reality, you're weak." Her voice dripped with biting irony. "You allowed yourself to be manipulated by those who used you to accomplish their dark designs. You were their puppet, obeying their orders, convinced that you acted out of free will, that your choices were your own following everything that happened to you, but it's all false. They played you like a damn fool. What a shame..."
(Name)'s words hung in the air, creating a palpable unease between the two individuals. Krauser had always been self-assured, convinced of his own strength and choices. But now, that confidence was crumbling, and doubt was seeping in.
"Shut your fucking mouth, or I'll shoot!" he bellowed, struggling to keep his true emotions from showing.
"Then shoot, you fucking coward!" the young woman retorted as she continued to advance towards him, now with her forehead pressed against the barrel of his gun. "Shoot."
His finger was on the trigger, and yet nothing. He still didn't pull it.
"I'll do it." he said.
"You won't." a smirk formed on her face. "And even if you do, then what? Because you've killed me, things will magically get better? Because you've silenced the one who revealed what she heard, the truth will fade away? Spare me the laughter."
A surge of hatred engulfed Krauser as (Name)'s words penetrated deep into his being.
"You make me lau-... Hmph." Suddenly, she seemed to fight to regain control over the infection ravaging her. A glimmer of determination shone in her eyes, and the black veins that had spread throughout her body began to slowly fade away.
A wave of inner strength emanated from her, pushing back the darkness that had consumed her. However, this sudden reclaiming of power took a toll. The last words escaped (Name)'s lips, but barely had she finished her sentence when she abruptly collapsed.
The black veins that had overtaken her body gradually disappeared as she was now laying unconscious on the ground.

Synopsis: Eddie Munson had his life turned upside down, literally. While he and the gang are dealing with the aftermath of Vecna, a new problem literally falls into their laps. Sydney Thompson, a twenty-year old from the future. The only explanation? The soulmark on her wrist tying her to Eddie. The only problem? There are no soulmarks from she's from. How will Eddie and Sydney interact? Will she stay or will some other power ruin the only good thing to come into Eddie's life?

To anyone else, it was a cool day in Hawkins, Indiana. To our group of mismatched heroes, it was another calm day of waiting for the other shoe to drop. For the end of times to appear. After the conflict of their spring break and disappearance of Vecna, an evil entity trying to reign control of The Upside Down and the real world; the group was in defense mode. He could strike at any moment, try to finish what he started back in March. So when Eleven and Mike are outside and someone literally falls from the sky, what is the party going to do?
“Steve!” El yelled as she spotted the girl falling in the sky. “Get over here!”
At the sound of her yell, Steve and the older teens raced to the front of the cabin to see El waving her hands out, slowing the drop of a girl that seemed to have fallen from the direction of the sky. They all watched as El lowered her slowly from about tree’s height to the ground where she laid seemingly unconscious. The group was quiet. 
“What the hell is that?” Steve asked as he took a few steps closer to the girl on the ground. “Where did she come from?”
“The sky,” Mike answered as he laid a hand on El’s shoulder. “We saw her falling and El stopped her.”
“So you're saying she just fell from the sky?” Nancy asked. “Like really, she just appeared?”
El shrugged. “That’s when I noticed her.”
Steve sighed. “Well we can’t just leave her out here. Should we bring her in the house to see if she wakes up?’
No one had any disagreements so Steve stepped forward and picked the girl off the ground and carried her into the cabin. Steve laid her carefully on the couch, the rest of the group taking places around the tiny cabin. 
“What should we do with her?” Will asked from the window near the door. “Where did she even come from?”
“Maybe she can answer those questions when she wakes up?” Robin suggested hopefully. “I mean with all the shit that happened, it would be that she landed here of all places, right?”
“So you think she’s evil?” Steve asked.
“No!” Robin said and glared at Steve. “I’m just saying, isn't this just what we deal with now?”
Steve shrugged and looked around the room to get a good headcount. “Who’s missing?”
Dustin came from the direction of the small kitchen. “Just Eddie and Max. They called earlier saying they would be a little late.”
Steve nodded. “Should we call Hopper?”
Jonathan nodded behind Nancy. “I’ll call him and Mom to get them over here, they should know.”
Steve nodded and went back to staring at the girl. She was breathing, that much was clear. What the hell is she doing here?
It wasn’t too much later that the group could hear Eddie’s van making it up the drive. Before he could make too much noise, Steve and Robin met the pair at the door. 
They could see Eddie and Max getting out of the van, laughing as Eddie ruffled Max’s hair. They both stopped short when they saw what was waiting for them at the door. 
“What’s going on?” Eddie asked at the end of the steps. “Is everyone okay?”
Steve shrugged and put his hands on his hips. “We might have a slight problem?”
“Problem?” Max echoed quietly. 
“A girl fell from the sky,” El said suddenly from behind Steve. Steve jumped and moved away as she came out the door. “Mike and I saw her falling and I slowed her down.”
“Harrington?” Eddie asked as he looked at El. “Is this true?”
Steve nodded. “Yes. She’s in there on the couch, still passed out we think. We don’t know where she came from.”
“Max might,” El said as she reached for Max. “I think you’ve seen her.”
“Seen her?” Robin echoed as they let El bring Max to the couch. The three at the door watched as Max studied the girl before looking back at the trio. She nodded. 
Steve sighed and rubbed a hand down his face. “Why is it always us?”
Eddie clapped his shoulder before moving into the cabin. “Why not?”
Max sat at the foot of the couch the unconscious girl laid on. “I, uh saw her in a vision. El saw it too when she saved me from the Vecna, that’s how she recognized her.”
“The visions that Vecna accidentally showed you?” Nancy questioned. “The ones from the future?”
Max nodded. “Yeah. She’s from the ones about Eddie.”
The whole group turned to face Eddie. 
“Me?” Eddie asked. “You’ve got it all wrong, Red. I’ve never seen that girl before in my life.”
“Well she’s in the visions with you!” Max exclaimed. “A lot of it is a little muddy because it was shown so fast, but she was laughing with you in one of them. You looked… happy.”
“Happy?” Eddie repeated. He looked at the girl one more time. Nothing stood out about her. Was she supposed to be a part of his future?
“We can’t do anything until she wakes up,” Nancy said. “So let's not get worked up about this.”
They all nodded and tried not to focus on the elephant in the room. 
“She’s not bad,” El muttered as she sat by the TV that was playing a random movie. “She didn’t look evil in the visions, she was around us all. Like family.”

Summary: As Y/N was hanging out with Azul in his VIP room, they started to look for something to cook when they go back to Ramshackle, and they found just the right one after glancing at Azul.

As Azul just got finished with another contract, he heard a little knock on his door.
"Azul, a certain person is here to see you." Jade came into the VIP room with and mischievous smile while (Y/N) glared daggers into his skull, cursing at him under their breath.
After seeing you looking really mad at Jade, Azul had a little worried and confused look on his face, but he decided to let you in to see what business he had with you. "Is there something you need (Y/N)? Hopefully Jade didn't make much trouble for you." he chuckled softly, imagining what happened.
After seeing Jade gone, you relaxed a bit and turned to Azul, "Well, there isn't really anything that I need, I just wanna hang out with you! And Jade DID cause trouble for me. He literally tried shoving a bunch of mushrooms into my mouth!" you exclaimed, suddenly having chills of the memory. Azul found himself smiling at your explanation, but making a mental note to tell Jade to stop doing that.
But he was really happy about you wanting to hang out with him. Although he does have some contracts and paperwork to work on, your presence was enough for him. As Azul was doing his business, he made sure to listen to your ramblings about your day, making sure to nod or to make a "hm" sound to let you know he was listening.
"Augh, I had such a bad day today. Ace dared me to do something I hated, which is looking at a cursed image. Literally, unbelievable. And then in class - he blamed me for something that I DIDN'T DO!" you cried, but instantly stopped to search for something on your phone.
Even though Azul was immersed in his work, he noticed that you stopped talking for a moment.
"(Y/N), is there something wrong?" as he looked up, he realized you were on your phone. "Huh, oh right, I forgot to tell you I was starving the whole time, so right now I'm just looking for something to make when I get back to Ramshackle. And I can't forget about Grim's tuna.." You were starving? Why didn't you tell him?
Azul cleared his throat, "Why didn't you tell me you were starving? I could've had Jade-" "Do not mention the cursed name." Azul sweatdropped at this. "Also, I'm not really starving, I just want something to eat. And I don't want anything to eat here, I'm practicing my cooking skills - ingredients is what I need." Azul hummed and went back to silently do his work along with glancing at you from time to time.
But when he glanced at you again, you both caught eye contact and he immediately looked away. When he looked back at you, he realized you were still looking at him. "D-do you need something (Y/N)? I noticed you've been staring at me for a long time now." Azul cursed himself for stuttering.
You continued to look at him with no emotion whatsoever in your eyes, "You're an octopus, right Azul? I mean you are but-"
Azul stopped his little breakdown and looked at you with an uncertain look on his face, wondering where you were going with this information. "Yes, I am an octopus..why do you ask?"
He regrets everything after seeing that evil smile on your face. "So, ya know how I was searching for something to cook yes?" he looked at you, a bit worried about what you're going on about, "I found something called Nakji Bokkeum, and the ingredients are garlic, ginger, gochujang, onions, and lastly-"
Azul knew what you were going to say. And he was not amused one bit.
"Octopus! So, you're coming with me to Ramshackle." You got off from where you were sitting and grabbed onto Azul's arm as he tried to regain himself and struggle out of your grasp internally crying inside.
You only did this just to get him some time to break after noticing that he's been overworking himself for quite some time from what Jade said.
Good luck Azul, you're going to need it.

In the final chapter of Digimon Adventure Tri, Homeostasis reveals that the real world can be rebooted just like the Digital World. Izzy, despite being the smartest person in the group, only thinks of how this would affect computers in the real world. The thing is, though, it is made explicit that not only would this affect the human's memories of Digimon, but it also describes how the world would "return to the quantum sea." The entire universe as we know it would turn to quantum foam and be rebuilt from scratch, like a second Big Bang.
And nobody's mind is blown by this in the movie.
Like, okay, rebooting the Digital World, alright, it's a "computer world," it's, it's easy not to think too deeply about it. But we're talking about an entity that exists beyond worlds who can, on a whim, revert all of reality as we know it to nothingness and rebuilt it from the ground up. This thing is a god. This is an actual, real god speaking to eight children about how it's going to start everything over again. And they're just like "oh no we'll forget our Digimon." Dudes, you're standing in the street with the only tangible proof anyone in history has ever had that there is at least one god with power over all creation. Fuck your fucking Digimon, react to that!
Also, nobody seems at all phased that their teacher died to save the lives of Tai, Davis, Ken, Cody, and Yolei. Tai feels no survivor's guilt? None of them miss the guy? Nobody seems to feel anything about that? We all talk about how weird it is that Kari and TK at least have no concern about the 02 kids going missing, but nobody ever mentions that Sora and Tai's homeroom teacher died.
Then there's Gennai!
When these kids met Gennai, they were lost in a very dangerous alternate world (there should be trauma there, why isn't there trauma?), and it was Gennai that guided them. He was an important figure in their lives. He even showed them how they came to be the Chosen Children and his role in that. So why, dear god why, does it not seem to affect them emotionally that Gennai has been corrupted by Yggdrasil? They accept him as their enemy and fight him, but they never stop to even think about trying to save him, to make him his true self again. They don't even question why he wasn't rebooted along with the Digimon. They just... Leave him to stay evil. Also the sexual assault of Sora. Again, this was a guiding figure in her life. A grandfather figure in a way. His presence used to bring them comfort and now he's been altered against his will and is exploiting them and acting so fucked up and... They don't seem to care that it's Gennai doing this. They hear he's been corrupted and that's all the explanation they need, suddenly it's fine, and they just have to fight him. Surely the fact this digital entity has a human face would have the psychological effect of making them hesitate just as much, if not more, as they did with Meicoomon?
So much goes unaddressed in Tri.
I really liked that Tai matured so much in these movies and was finally questioning the amount of damage they do when they host these massive monster fights in the middle of Tokyo. Yes they're trying to save people from "bad Digimon," but Greymon falling against a fucking building is dangerous. Tai is the first to recognise that, and the narrative - through Matt - sort of seems to punish him for it. But. I wanted more of that. I want to see the emotional effects of this stuff on the characters. Yeah, I don't want six movies of them moping around and reflecting and being all depressed and shit, but c'mon, they should be carrying some heavy fucking baggage by the end of all this. Instead, the conclusion to the whole six-part movie spectacular is Tai phoning Meiko and saying "hey we killed your Digimon but we're still going to let you be friends with us."

i don't want to reblog the post because my commentary is not relevant to the subject, so i didn't want to put this in said post's tags. also as i type it turned into a long...? something. vent maybe? i don't even know what to refer to it as. but i've seen a couple of posts recently that have really got me thinking.
as i'm writing this, they both just appeared on my dash. they are this one and this one. i'm definitely going to post this now (i have to) and not just save it in my drafts forever.
Having sex with friends sounds nice! I am pro-that! (pro meaning not anti) for me it would alleviate my fears of hooking up with those I just met or haven't known for years because friends are less likely to murder/kidnap you or give you a disease! (I do not want to die from sex lmao) the con: now they know what i look like and what bodily/physical problems i have that aren't visible to the general public. no. i can't have sex with my friends. my god. it all boils down to my body dysmorphia. literally the mortifying ordeal of it being known
So I think again, like I often do, about my place on the ace spectrum. I usually do not care for labels, don't find them necessary to apply to myself, but it's totally cool if other people have tons of different labels that they use. I am pro-that too! I myself am definitely grey-ace or demi-something. I landed on aegosexual- a disconnect between yourself and your sexual attraction- for a long time. I am never sexually or romantically attracted to somebody I don't know. Not even people on the screen. What if that hot (definition for this context: visually appealing) actor is a dick? Good looks garbage personality? At least you can do research on him. Not the case with "irl contacts" (definition: non-famous and real people who you might actually meet or know in person).
I know that I definitely experience sexual attraction, and want to have sex. Based on that I don't feel quite right calling myself asexual.
I don't LIKE that I feel too bad about experiencing sexual attraction to act on it. There's this weird feeling that's hard to place, but closest to "guilt", I'd say. Disgust with myself.
That time I was propositioned to go back to a con hotel (i turned him down and he listened and respected me and was nice, it's just i stopped myself), or that other time when making out and groping (different guy different occasion; we could've gone further but i stopped myself), or even just flirting and talking about our turn-ons and things we Like with my long-distance online sort-of bf that I had. I'm even hesitating to follow the "after dark" art accounts that I want to follow on bird site because of the guilt and almost embarassment I feel at myself (I'm fully aware that the only reason most people have locked accounts which you have to request to follow is to keep out minors and trolls btw, and i'm certainly neither of those!).
All of this is stuff I want and that's enjoyable to me, but this nagging "don't do that. you're gross. why would you say/do that? you're being weird. stop. stop. stop. you're not allowed to do these things." is always there in my mind. I don't want it to be there, and it's always there.
Now, this doesn't come from religious trauma, like "sex before marriage = wrong and bad"? "gay sex = ultimate evil"? Nah, I was never told those things. I didn't even have a very religious upbringing. These thoughts can't be explained away by any of that. Even my mom has always been like "you can have a girlfriend or a boyfriend! i don't mind as long as you're happy! :)" yknow having that nice accepting approach to that time when I was like 15 and settled on bi for "what i was" at the time. No judgement, no condemnation there either.
It's not real.
When I learned that I have ocd, suddenly I started to maybe have an explanation for these thoughts. Some people's obsessions focus on repetition or contamination. A good part of my obsessions focus on condemnation. I'm scared of it. I take "beating yourself up over something" to the next level. Just like any other person who's familiar with delusions, intrusive thoughts, etc will tell you: knowing it's not real doesn't make it any better. Doesn't make it stop. Doesn't make it go away.
When I could explain this detrimental thought process away by finding this horrible disorder to pin the blame on, I felt freer. I've thought many times throughout my mentally ill life about bringing up my (questioning)asexuality to a therapist one day, and I still will, even more so now. i felt before like I'd bring it up to them and not be able to back it up with any evidence, and just be brushed off? That's a stupid way to think, I know. And a therapist who would really do that is one you'd leave immediately. You don't need evidence to talk about how you feel, that's so silly... but that thought itself comes back around, in a vicious cycle, to my needing to justify myself because otherwise I am Wrong And Bad. jeez. what a way to think. i hate that. will be so glad when i get it under control after 25+ years.

"So, you're telling me that you never touched anyone before?" Ink asked in surprise as he then glanced at the other, who just curled up in more on himself, Ink finds the other odd in all honesty, especially with the fact that depsite the numerous amount of times that they've been fighting, Error's always been the one that first approaches him. It confused him, as they were supposed to be enemies.
But ah well, Error not destroying means that he doesn't have to fight him, the guy's actually interesting after all! "No..." Error replied as he then leaned back. "I nEvEr ReAlLy LiKeD... tOuCh. EsPeCiAlLy WhEn ThE fIrSt TiMe I tOuChEd AnOtHeR, i ExPeRiEnCeD pAiN." Error admitted, looking up at the Outertale sky above them.
"Ah... That was probably my fault, whoops." Despite having feelings thanks to his vials, he's still unable to feel stronger feelings like compassion, sympathy, empathy, love, etc. etc. Error knew that somehow though... He probably told him before but forgot honestly, eh, not much he can do about that.
"YeAh... It... WaS..." Error trailed off as he then leaned back on the rock he was leaning on and then looking up at the vast space above them. "Oh! How about we try handholding?!" Ink suddenly sprang up in excitement and Error glanced at him in shock.
"Wh- WaIt WhAt?!" Error scooted back from Ink at the sudden suggestion and Ink just grinned at him. "Yeah! I mean, since you told me that one time you wanted to touch people again, why not start now?"
"WaIt... YoU rEmEmBeR tHaT?" Error raised a brow. "Well yeah, I have it on my scarf so... Actually, I think that's the reason why I wanted to meet up." Ink grinned while Error then shook his skull. "No, No WaY. i DoN'T... i DoN'T wAnT tO eXpErIeNcE aNyMoRe PaIn DaMn It." Error frowned and Ink's grin dropped a bit. Right, that was his fault...
"Oh come on Error! I promise I won't hurt you." Ink gave Error a smile and Error stared at Ink with clear distrust. "... PrOmIsE?" Error whispered and Ink nodded. "I promise." Ink then lent his hand for Error, who then stared down at it before shakily reaching out. Ink was quite patient, which was surprising, as he was always impulsive with everything, and impatient.
Ink watched as Error reached out before retreating his hand a bit a few more times before closing his eyesockets and reached out, quickly touching Ink's hand, Error could feel his glitches starting to act up at the action. It was... Painful. But mostly on the uncomfortable side... But...
Ink couldn't help but feel giddy when Error's touching his hand, Error did it! He actually- gagging once he felt Ink rising in his mouth, he turned to the side to quickly puke out the ink, blinking a bit before turning to Error happily. "Error you did it!"
Error's eyesockets opened quickly at the exclamation and quickly turned to the hand and gasped. "I... i DiD iT!" Error couldn't help but feel proud of himself. He did it! He actually touched someone! And the proud look on Ink's face made him even more happier. He's definitely gonna keep this memory for a long time. If not, forever.

Anyways, so, explaining Error's speaking first.
This was set before Day 1 and 2, for when they're only just starting to get along, so Error's speaking isn't really... Controlled yet, and still erratic and glitchy as hecc
Also, yes. Most, if not, all of my entries are gonna be set in the same Multiverse, so yeah, this is still FGOD AU.
Now for the explanation of Ink, since this was set in the FGOD Multiverse, Ink was a dum dum and attacked Error because he thought he was evil, but they became friends because Error's been meeting up with Ink and been starting conversations with him in hopes to get him to understand why he does what he does eventually, which led to them ending up as eventual friends, or frienemies. They still fight, but not as often now.

I was just scrolling r/mybrilliantfriendhbo and I made a goofy comment on a topic that seems to have touched a nerve:

This interaction left me shocked because I rarely have issues online, and also because the same person who was lowkey calling me a sex-obsessed pedo had replied to similar topics a few times, always stating that she preferred the actresses young (?).
Someone explained to me that I had phrased things wrong:

Looking back at my comment, I don't see how that could be understood by me referring to our girls. In fact, the job of Lila's body double, especially in the infamous bath scene where all she needed to do was to stand up and be looked at by Lenù in an "inner turmoil" from below, had been a joke between me and other MBF fans. Like, we laughed? Some of us had been nude models, and we knew how much the actress probably wanted to stop being cold and wet and leave already?
So I'm asking you guys, who have a very different approach and don't have a stick up your ass: What did I do? Is it because I wrote "boobs" and "pussy"? And - that comment was a personal attack rooted in some sort of queerphobia, was it?
I know this happens on r/ all of the time, and I know that this particular sub isn't very queerfriendly, to put it mildly. Which is weird, I know, because anyone who is familiar with the fans' demographics knows that the sapphic women are at the core of the fandom, especially between seasons. But alas, the sapphics usually stay silent and want no trouble.
Still, there are some interesting discussions from time to time on the sub (even when some topics can be repetitive - IS LILA EVIL?), and people who are genuinely knowledgeable, and I do have good times sharing my thoughts and reading others'. But - I feel a bit stupid because I seldom reference anything that could be considered dykey, and then I get this?
At some point in season 3, I was left scratching my head because some users were quick to say that if Pietro had intimacy issues with Lenù, he may be gay. I totally respect it if you think that Pietro might be gay, but for fuck's sake, are you even aware of the series you're watching? Where were you the 10,000 times when Lenù was in "inner turmoil" about her best friend, drooling over Nino, and having zero chemistry with Pietro from the very beginning, who was only a good catch for her? Didn't you see Lenù's vivid nightmare about being forced to put on the engagement ring? Didn't you notice that the one who has an (understandable) problem with this marriage is Lenù, and that nobody suggested that she was gay????
I guess I'm annoyed that after years of not suggesting "Lenù gay" as The Explanation for Everything in MBF, because, well, I don't think that things are that simple, and letting people discuss at length whether Franco or Nino are better or whether Lila looks better with Marcello or Enzo, I am suddenly the one who is weird and gets talked down to as some pedo predator.
A somewhat similar thing happened to me a while ago on r/ as well, when some people on The White Lotus sub complained that there were too many discussions regarding gay undertones (compared to MBF, there were definitely 1000% more threads, which is still puzzling to me). I was just annoyed at that comment, because you know how many threads I see about m/f interactions that people are constantly pushing as romantic? Fuck the straights complaining about a few threads regarding Cameron and Ethan, or Paula and Olivia. TWL is openly playful and was created by an openly bisexual man, OF COURSE it's full of gay undertones, and OF COURSE you don't see them because you haven't had the same experience! You never had to read between the lines, you never had to wonder whether something is platonic or romantic, you never had to navigate relationships without set roles! How great for you! Now let us have our little party without bothering anyone, will you?
Anyway, I just needed to vent. Feel free to tell me if you think you know where my original comment was flawed.
Oh, and if you participate on the MBF sub - say hi, and participate more. It can be cool, but it clearly needs more input from diverse sources.

JJK theory: master Tengen is sus
Disclaimer n. 1: this contains manga spoilers, up to chapter 173.
Disclaimer n. 2: this is kinda long.
You know, meeting Tengen was very cool, he was very nice with our heroes, gave excellent advice and explanation of the culling game, even showed them the back gate of prison realm, like a good supporting character would do.
But the more I think about him, the more I feel something is off.
And I will explain why, trying to make this the more coherent as possible, so please bear with me!
First thing, shout out to Reggie Star for introducing to us a different vision on what the actual goal of the culling game is, backed by good points and proves which Fushiguro too finds rational and possible:

And indeed, games seem to be almost over considering only very strong sorcerers remain after these first 9 days of battles, so the idea of a long ritual like Tengen suggested doesn't seem real anymore, it actually looks like we're at the end of the battles part.
Reggie's reaction to Tengen being named, in Fushiguro's eyes, means that Tengen isn't working with Kenjaku, but Reggie could just think Tengen is a good/neutral guy, like for now he seems to actually be, and the cooperation with Kenjaku is something known only between those two (and few others, maybe, like Uraume for example).

But to be honest, this doesn't save Tengen from the possibility of being a traitor/double agent. Remember there's at least a second mole aside from Mechamaru, higher ranked and untouchable:

Who would be better than Tengen for this role? He's an all-knowing being who doesn't need to go out of his secret temple in order to find out about things, since he's hyper connected with the rest of the world, or rather: Tengen is the world and the world is Tengen (ch. 145) and this is possible - surprise! - thanks to the missed merging with the Star Plasma Vessel.
In fact, the events of August 2006 are extremely important for this theory as if they're not important for the whole plot: to us readers, it's explained as if Toji, a sudden element free of every chain to the jujutsu world, just came in and created chaos by killing Riko, so in this sense it's more like Kenjaku found the perfect conditions to merge with Tengen (if we consider this to be his true plan) already prepared - unknowingly - by Toji.
So Kenjaku shouldn't have had any business in the killing of Riko in 2006. He just exploited the situation.
But there's something that doesn't fit well in this interpretation of the story, and it's this line (I think Tsukumo says it?):

Kenjaku prevented.
Now, I'm not a native English speaker so I hope my knowledge doesn't fail me but...doesn't the verb prevent mean someone forcefully avoiding something from happening? It's not avoiding by luck.
This line gives agency to Kenjaku in the killing of the Star Plasma Vessel.
And to be honest, it feels a bit too weird how suddenly, in the span of some few years, all the missing pieces came together and Kenjaku could finally start his evil plan almost magically, just thanks to a great dose of luck: Star Plasma Vessel dying in 2006, Tengen evolving as consequence, prison realm found again in 2012, Geto dying in 2017.
It's just 11 years. It's nothing compared to the centuries Kenjaku has lived.
You're telling me greatest mastermind galaxy brain Kenjaku couldn't create himself the conditions to start his plan and suddenly in 11 years he gets all he has needed?? Without doing the bare minimum effort?? Sorry, I can't fully believe this. The only element that is completely out of Kenjaku's doing is just Geto's dying, or rather: Geto dying in 2017 after a fight he himself started, wanted and lost.
And this brings us to another point: Geto's (unconscious) role.
Geto started to be someone known and relevant to jujutsu world in 2005, when he entered Jujutsu High, since before that time he very likely lived a normal life as a normal boy with a normal family completely made of non-sorceres, no connections to the jujutsu world.
So that's when Kenjaku has very possibly found out about cursed manipulation and how useful it would be if only Tengen wasn't human anymore. And voilà, one year later, right when the 500 years from the last merging have passed, Tengen can't merge to keep his humannes because the Vessel died and so he evolves into something more easily to be manipulated by Geto's technique.

What a huge stroke of luck, eh?
Of course, Geto had to die. And I think Kenjaku wanted Geto to die in 2006, right after the Star Plasma Vessel was killed too, because that's the only way the boy could have been useful to the evil brain.
Only problem is: Geto didn't die in 2006, it took him 11 more years to finally die. And who's the culprit?
Our dear Toji, who always and only trusted his instict, and so decided to spare Geto in 2006 in order to avoid any possible trouble with his cursed spirits (thank you Toji).
What I'm trying to say is that Kenjaku possibly had a role with the Time Vessel Association that paid Toji, maybe Kenjaku himself somehow suggested Toji (known as a sorcerer killer) to the group as the right person to kill Riko; in this way, he was probably hoping that Toji would kill not only the Star Plasma Vessel, but the Six Eyes (remember: Kenjaku didn't have the prison realm yet, so he couldn't resort to sealing) and the boy with cursed manipulation too.
3 in 1, how practical (fits Kenjaku, he's a guy for optimization).
The only little problem was created by Toji sparing Geto's life, so Kenjaku had to wait 11 more years, but that's it (maybe in the end it wasn't too bad for Kenjaku either, since he could use the body of a strong, adult and expert special grade curse user, rather than the body of a still young and unrefined sorcerer, no more than level 1).
But how could Kenjaku be sure that the strongest duo, the sworn enemy Six Eyes and the Next Top Body, would be there as well?
Because Tengen himself asked for Gojo and Geto for the mission.

Now, personally choosing two teenagers, even if they are the strongest sorcerers, as the right people to deal with such a delicate matter like escorting the Star Plasma Vessel is a bit weird. Let's say a lot weird.
Unless you're secretly hoping they fail, which is indeed what happened. After all, if this mission was given to any other level 1 sorcerer, would have it been as relevant and useful to Kenjaku? Probably no.
Yes, Riko would have died anyway because Toji was there, but if Geto and Gojo weren't there too, killing them would have been way more difficult and who knows for how much longer Kenjaku should have been waiting for the next perfect occasion, remember the offer was 3 in 1.
And the duo wouldn't have (likely) fallen apart, meaning that the perfect situation to seal Gojo in Shibuya wouldn't have been possible (but I doubt Kenjaku even thought about plans so far since he didn't even have prison realm back in 2006 - I think he was just very happy when Geto went on his own evil way, because that brought him away from jujutsu society, "easier" to seize).
And another extremely weird thing is this: Tsukumo told Geto that the merging happened anyway, or that it was going to happen soon, and we know she really said what she thought was true and didn't lie to Geto, considering her reaction when Tengen says the truth about the missed merging.

So this means someone lied to Yuki on purpose, maybe even told her to spread the word that Tengen was safe and stabilized in order to hide his true nature evolving for the next 11/12 years. And again, who could this someone be if not Tengen himself, who would be better than him?
If he was a good guy and in trouble, why didn't he say it earlier? Why did he keep the silence about the huge danger represented by his evolution?
And another thing about Yuki: maybe it's just me, but I feel like she's presented as someone we can't trust fully mainly due to her "chat" with Geto in 2007, yet her actions prove her to be a relatively good person, or at least someone who is willing to give her full help to the good side.
While Tengen, at the opposite, is presented as someone reliable from the start...but Yuki doesn't seem to really believe it. Her "initial" interactions with Tengen seem kinda cold, because it looks like he's rejecting her.
And actually it's not even their first meeting.

What if the first time they met Tsukumo already sensend something was off, maybe asked dangerous questions, so Tengen tried to keep her away from him, only her among the group of visitors, because she's the only one who knows him and who could ask things - and in the end Yuki stays for that reason, to finally talk with Tengen.
It's true that Tengen then says two out of Tsukumo, Okkotsu and Choso, but again if we consider him as a double agent, this still makes sense: keeping two of the strongest enemies with him, preventing them to helping the others, even putting them in a position in which Kenjaku may kill them first, is actually a great move.
Now, there's still one big question: why would Tengen work with Kenjaku?
To be honest, I can't really say. Maybe Tengen doesn't hate too much the idea of merging with humans and/or Kenjaku, maybe he's tired of keeping barriers and wants chaos, maybe he wants to create a new Heian era like Kenjaku...for now I can't think of any particular theory to answer this question.
I will just say that this particular line could somehow be relevant in finding an answer.

The chains of fate kept Tengen, Star Plasma Vessel and Six Eyes bonded together for centuries.
Toji broke those chains by killing the Star Plasma Vessel.
The Six Eyes are now sealed.
Tengen is now "free" to evolve and merge, and free to deal with Kenjaku too.
