February (Femslash February) Week Two : "To Walk With You"

Been too long since I did a bit of "Three Houses" fan art; given this has quickly become one of my all-time absolute favorite Ships, it seemed the perfect opportunity to fix that.

A Return, And A New Beginning
Hello everyone! I’m home, safe and sound, from my Israel trip. It was a ton of fun, and it was wonderful to see my grandpa again. I might have a more detailed write-up later in the week, but for now, I’m just trying to catch up on what I’ve missed while I was away and re-orient myself a bit.

Happy New Year's, everyone! As 2023 draws to a close, I thought I'd end the old year (and kick off the new) by making a few master-posts for the various projects I've seen through to completion this year, starting with the one I'm most proud of, my SatAM 30th Anniversary screencap redraw series! This project was a LOT of fun to work on, letting me really push myself by carefully observing the frames I wanted to remake, especially for the painted look of the backgrounds.

And so, at last, my SatAMlebration comes to a close! I've had a real blast making these pics, not least of all because it's been so much fun revisiting these scenes and seeing them with a whole new eye (case in point, I'd never noticed 'til now how Sally is giving Sonic a playful shove in reaction to his swaggering wink at the audience), and it's been a real learning experience trying to replicate the show's specific style while keeping true to my own. I hope you've all enjoyed getting to celebrate this Way Past Cool series right along with me!

May: “Who Are You?”
“...come on, Sonic, that’s not funny.”
“Sorry; normally I’m all about the jokes, but in this case I’m being straight with you.”
Sally peers closely at Sonic. At the way he’s smiling, but there’s a certain sadness to it...the way his brows crease just so. “...you really don’t know who I am...?” she asks.
“Nope,” he answers, and it’s guileless in exactly the way Sally knows so well. “But hey, if it makes you feel any better, I’m not exactly from around here? It’s a whole hopping-around-the-shatterverse thing.”
“Whatever that information makes me feel, ‘better’ definitely isn’t it.”
“I take it you’re pretty close to...whoever it is you thought I was?”
She isn’t entirely sure how to answer that, because as far as she can tell, he is who she thought he was. He looks just like him; he sounds just like him. And he’s been missing all this time. If he isn’t him, then where is he? “I was. I am.” Her correction is a bit too hasty. “I just...need to find him, is all.”
“Well, hey, maybe I can help with that? There are only so many handsome blue super-fast hedgehogs out there, after all.”
She almost laughs; it really is exactly the kind of thing he’d say. But that almost just makes it feel worse. How can he be so much like him and not know her? It feels...wrong...in the pit of her stomach, in ways she can’t entirely put into words. Still, he really is the only lead she has right now, so... “Alright then.”
He perks up immediately. “Awesome! Let’s get started then. Oh, hey, you never did answer my question. Who are you?”
She lets out a sad little sigh. “You can call my Sally.”
((Back to Posting A Month’s Prompt Nearly A Week After The Month Is Over, but hey, in my defense the end of May wound up being very Full. XD Still, this is one of those ideas-a Sally who has known Sonic basically all her life meeting a Sonic who has no idea who she is-that’s festered in my brain ever since the end of the Archie Comic back in 2016, so when I saw Just The Right Prompt for it, I knew I had to give it a go. Took a lot of effort to not just keep on writing the story too, there’s a LOT of Feelings I’d want to explore here. ;w; ))

People, places, events...they maybe don't repeat all the time, but it's often enough t'make you wonder if maybe, just maybe, there really is a thing like Fate out there."

"Oh wow, where do I even START? Sal's the biggest baddest Take-Charge-st person ever, which is awesome, but she's also got a great sense of humor, and she looks, just SUPER cute when she's sleeping or blushing. And she's just got such a big heart, y'know?"
"Yes, Sonic can be silly and immature, but...well, sometimes that's honestly charming in its own right. And there's so much more to him underneath that surface too; his determination, his compassion, even his own tenderness...I can't help but love it all."
