The third time he sighs, you close your textbook.

You know who he is, anyone with eyes and ears is aware of Wakatoshi Ushijima, volleyball jock. You've joked with your girlfriends on more that one occasion that he could "beat your ass like a drum", so seeing him up close is kinda heart pounding.

He's sitting across the table and over two chairs, three different reading materials open around his laptop and notebook; you wonder briefly if he's going incognito, with the college hoodie and his team's cap on his head, and you bite your lip to stifle a huff of amusement.

That tower of a man could never blend in anywhere.

"You stuck with something?" You offer, tilting your head to the side in a bid to catch his eyes.

It works. "Uh, I guess I am." His face flushes slightly, eyes darting to your closed textbook, the highlighter in your hand. "Am I bothering you?"

You blow a raspberry and immediately regret it, but you need to own it now. "Bothering me? No way. I'm just finishing up, so I thought I'd offer a hand." Lies, lies, lies.

He hesitates, and you realise the distance is probably what's keeping him quiet.

"I can come over there," you stand and start to pack up your things.

He says your name and you drop your protractor. "That's your name, yeah?"

"Huh? Yeah, that's-- you know my name? I mean," you shove your last pen into your pencilcase and zip it up. "Do we know each other?"

"We take a couple of classes together; your notes always look nice." He says with that straight face of his.

You slide things into your bag and swing it up onto your shoulder, feigning calm. "Oh, thanks. I actually have an--"

"Instagram, for your notes. I follow you." His focus lands back on his laptop and you take the opportunity to take a breath before rounding the table and taking a seat beside him.

He smiles at you and you bite your lip.

"I, uh," he locks eyes with you, puts his elbow on the table and rests his jaw in his hand. "I'm not really stuck with anything."

And i'm being sensible and mature about it, and i'm totally not at all incredibly angry at myself or anything, no, not in the slightest. Come closer, I am in fact so normal and calm right now

Still can't believe I got myself a PS5, FINALLY. I mean I planned to get a used one but ended up getting a new one after all because yolo. XD

Now instead of setting it up, I rearrange my whole room AND workshop, shifting things from A to B so I can set it up properly and also be able to switch between consoles a little smoother and now I lie in the ruins of my room with all shelves empty while my PS5 is laughing at me because I just found the solution and it was only to shift my TV about 8cm to the left and it fits perfectly and free standing next to my TV with the closest way to all the usb slots.

but well at least I cleaned a bit

Weird ask/prompt that came out of a migraine haze. Ace just accidentally becoming Niffelheims hottest exotic dancer cuz he couldn't bs his way out of being caught sneaking around- the lap dance was a last ditch effort. It worked. Too well.

Ace is only a little embarrassed about it and only because it wasn’t something he planned. Look. Sometimes an Imperial Ambassador who is technically not committing treason has a Too Curious employee who walks in when you two are talking Business.

After that you have to improvise. Sometimes that improvisation ends up with you topless giving someone a lap dance.

Sometimes these things happen! He doesn’t even know how Axis got him that gig at that club and Ace doesn’t want to know!

Have you seen the viral videos of people giving money to the homeless and other people? Their filming crew randomly selects people to give money to. A homeless man wins $1000 from a lottery ticket given to him. His first reaction was trying to share with others, then weeping. The deserving waitress gave of herself to customers. Same film crew orchestrated a $1000 tip, trip to Hawaii, and a new car. Her joy was boundless. South African videos are mimicking this but giving food, shelter, and medical care.

Jesus told us: “Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you…” Matthew 7:12NLT When I was around thirteen years old, Mom and Dad were trying to buy Grandma’s house. Grandma’s will left each child an equal part of the house. Trouble was: Dad had been crippled in an accident and had no income. Mom’s ability to earn was very limited because of his 24 hour care. Two aunts and one uncle kicked back their inheritance to my parents. They all prospered because of their gifts.

William Buffet has been quoted as saying, ‘the more money I give into others needs, the greater my income increases. Former entrepreneur, Mary Crowley wore a necklace with two shovels on it. Once, I gave a prayer request for someone unemployed, unemployment income run out, dead broke and needing help to save their vehicle. A total stranger came to me a few minutes later and handed me a large denomination bill sowing into the needs of the other person. I saw the little shovel in action. Later, I heard about the big shovel event in the life of a once stranger’s life.

Everywhere people are barely surviving. Houses foreclosed. Vehicles repossessed. Inflation has gone wild. God is looking for shovelers.

“…Whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?” 1John 3:17NASB God takes seriously how His people use what He gives them. Much of the Old Testament regarded Israel’s failure to care for their poor, widows and orphans.

James instructs: “Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves…a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.” James 1:22,25KJV. If we hear the Lord's word to be a giver and don’t give, we’re deceiving ourselves.

“Whoever increases wealth by taking interest or profit from the poor amasses it for another, who will be kind to the poor.” Proverbs 28:8NIV For years I’ve heard about a transfer of wealth coming from the ungodly to the qualified people of God. Who’s qualified? Those who will funnel this transfer of wealth to where needs are. It won’t be the wealthy. It will be the givers. They’re an entirely different breed of Christians, ones God can trust. What are you? It’s your choice. You choose.

PRAYER: Father help us to become trustworthy givers that shovels wherever they’re told, in the name of Jesus Christ’s I pray.
