Alien Remnants in Society: Lee Jung Chan Findings

Lee Chan is a smart kid. He’s one of the top students in his assigned major, performing above expectancy levels in his other classes, and got into his university with a full scholarship with a 1600 SAT score. This guy is absolutely gifted, but what does he focus all his free time on? Aliens.

Every genius has a quirk. For Chan, it was aliens.

When he was 8 years old, somehow studying and comprehending the second law of thermodynamics and being entertained by the likes of his beloved Jurassic World legos, his interest in the wonders of otherworldly beings was piqued when his normal SpongeBob program was interrupted by the local news reports of crop circles and their relevance to the existence of aliens.

This kid is a prodigy, he was still convinced Santa existed, but a prodigy. How could he be convinced by measly crop circles you may wonder. He wasn’t, but when he’d ask his parents or locals about the ideas of aliens, ideas and theories were blurred, making the boy decide to investigate himself. Every interview, every textbook definition, every historical recording, he’s put in a journal which he called ‘Lee Jung Chan Findings.’

Now he’s 20-something following a peer and suspecting finally, at last finally, that they are not who they say they are, but in fact, an unearthly life form and he was going to prove it.

It started with some mild stalking, which in his defense was an…idea at the time, not a good one but an idea (he has no idea how has yet to be arrested), and he’d observe what set you off from the rest. Some of his notes recorded the following:

‘Doesn’t take advantage of the school cafeteria,’

Or,

‘Makes minimal to no sound, possibly to avoid attention,’

Or even the more ridiculous,

‘Avoids Taylor Swift music like the plague. Who doesn’t like Taylor Swift?’

Chan, himself, could feel his sanity slowly depleting, running on months’ worth of time into his research, having his notes looked over with fellow Alien enthusiast Hansol from the music production department that he met through his historical literature class. He could even feel the skepticism from a believer as big as he is, and Hansol is getting a low bearing D in Anthropology. And listens to Drake unironically.

“Are these a bit of a stretch? I didn’t see how any of these would point them out to be extraterrestrial.”

Chan could understand where his friend was coming from, but what more could he provide? All he knew was you showed up one day on campus and you were not like any student that he’s met or observed before. He prides himself in having a keen sense of people and their behaviors. You didn’t seem to line up close with anyone in his experience, which intrigued him. Your presence just made you seem like you were made to, well, exist and fade into the background.

Chan noticed you though. He sees all.

He'd be lying if he said there wasn’t a time he thought of giving up. His research was already reaching the length of a year, to his standards long considering he grasped the concept of astrophysics statistics in a week. He felt discouraged, he was feeling wronged. It was as if the world was against him and wanted to see his dreams die.

Calm down, Macbeth. Save it for Halloween.

However, as if someone heard his agnostic prayers, he stumbles upon a sudden breakthrough. The strangest discovery thing yet. Upon following you out of the library like he does every Thursday night, he loses you almost immediately, initially unfortunate, but loses himself on campus. The lights that typically stood tall and bright blew out, causing a surge of mystery in what he couldn’t see.

There was one lone light left, standing the brightest, the tallest of any star in the sky. He stands right underneath it, comforted by its glow until he hears it shatter, explode actually. The light of the pole not only goes out but shards of glass fall from right above him, making him instinctively pull away from its perimeter but unable to leave unscathed.

He touches his cheek up inspection, using the flashlight on his phone to detect blood, concluding a cut on his cheek. “What the fuc–”

He uses the sleeve of his crew neck to hold down the spill, in doing so he detects a low but distinct hum. His sensitive ears start to pick up its resonance and the little scientist in him decides to follow it. It grows louder and more apparent in the darkest alley of the college town but tonight a light glow emulates in place of its usual pitch black.

He treads lightly, seeing a figure with what looks like its arm in the air, sporadically shaking in a constant and repetitive motion. What looks to be the elbow part of theirs is bent, armpit glow, the most insane thing he ever witnessed in real life. Still clutching his cheek, Chan pulls out his phone from his front pocket, pressing buttons single-handedly to get on his camera. He begins videotaping the event, making sure the image is clear and focused, stepping just a little closer until his foot hits a hard lump on the ground. He stumbles to grip his phone and fails when it drops right beneath his feet but it's too late.

Your head snaps towards him and in a blink of an eye, your hands are around his neck threateningly as he’s flat on his back on the ground. Your finger presses in the vital parameters of his neck, squeezing with only enough space for a single breath. Your knees barriers between one of his legs as your torso towering over him, your eyes dark and stoic, like ones of a cold-blooded murderer.

He put his hands up defensively, “L-let’s not get hasty here.”

“Tell me why I shouldn’t eliminate you.”

He realizes this is the first time heard your voice. Your smooth yet calming, what he imagines one of that help sleep audio tapes would sound like. Your face, still emitting that strange glow, flawless up close and personal. He already knew you were physically aesthetic to look at but, with his view, his human instincts naturally come out, feeling a stiff discomfort in his thick denim bottoms. Never in his life did he think being held on the ground by his neck, threatened by a nonhuman creature to get his life force taken out of him would make him so, for lack of better less crude words, horny. This probably was something he should think to bring up with his therapist.

“Now, I completely understand where you’re coming from, you have every right to be mad, but this would be a very big mistake if you were to kill me. I’ll explain why–”

“You, measly human, have been stalking me for an earth year—”

“M-measly?” he stutters.

“You are violating what your people call, ‘right to privacy,’ and make it a point to disrupt each and every one of my environmental studies. I can easily evaporate you. Give me reasons why I shouldn’t.” There has been yet a shift in your tone or eyes, and despite that, your words, mainlines in his body like an IV, leading the blood straight to the least helpful body part at the moment.

Why couldn’t this have happened during prom night when Chae offered to be his ‘first’ in Mingyu’s van?

“I mean you absolutely no harm! In fact, I admire you. Your presence. Your existence is an incredible personal and scientific discovery–”

“Flattery is an earthy construct to reinforce wants and desired results, your poor attempt at such gives you a disadvantage in this case.”

“I simply want to understand your…people? Your culture, your way of life. I am nothing but a man of discovery…and my word. So, in exchange for letting me live and perhaps, study you–”

“I believe other humans use the phrase, ‘fat chance.’ This is that.”

“You can study me!” he exclaims. “I give you anatomical permission!”

You cock your head. “Why would that interest me?”

Despite being in a near-death situation, his slight narcissism still comes through. “Well, not to toot my own horn, but I am somewhat of a genius by Earthly standards here. I would provide you valuable insight and information.”

“I read that be unlikely.”

“Would it not prevalent to understand the human mind as you ask me, a human, questions?”

You pause, actually considering it, and your grip loosens around his throat. It makes Chan both relieved yet slightly disappointed, for reasons he’ll never understand. You look back at him in wonder, only blinking blankly at him before commenting.

“You are…peculiar.”

“That’s what I'm saying!” Chan agrees proudly.

And with that, you are somehow convinced to let him live. Not getting into why, but he was an interesting pick, and the next day you’re in his dorm room in front of those outdated human cameras that never have nearly enough tape to record something important. Emotions for you did not come out the same way as a human does but annoyance was becoming more than a recurring response. Chan currently being the main source of that irritability right now.

“So, first off. Where do you come from?” Smiling from ear to ear, he is ecstatic to interview his first report of an alien.

“A place unknown far from where you reside. It’s a destination no currently advanced human technology could possibly reach.”

Chan takes a beat to scribble that in his notes. “Great…how did you travel to Earth?”

You blink. “If I answer that imposition, you must be prepared for deat–”

“Okay, touchy subject,” he chuckles nervously, “Skipping. Next Question, um, what brings you to our planet?”

Your silence is worth a thousand words, only giving him that menacing glare you had when your hands were around his throat. He instinctively places his hand against his neck, the sensation of your alien grippers lingering on him. That’s right, he almost died, but why was that thrilling?

“Okay, same response as the previous question. Now, Taylor Swift. Good or bad—“

“How do these questions bring worth to your research?”

He ponders. “Well, they give an idea of the qualities of life forms outside the human’s existence. There’s hardly ever an opportunity for us to interview an extraterrestrial being such as yourself.”

“And you believe whether or not I partake interest in what you call ‘music’ here revolutionary information?”

He shrugs, seeing your point, “It’d be interesting in my research to get opinions of observations you’ve made appointing yourself as a resident here. You’ve taken place on this Earth as human for years. You’re bound to have gained some personal biases…So Taylor Swift?”

“...It interferes with my communications.” You answer plainly.

“She is an international treasure. Anyways. Communications. Is that what you were doing when I found you last night?”

“The actions I partook was a form of communication, yes, however it is to a farther receiver that does not currently locate where I am now.”

“You mean your overlords?”

You roll your eyes, the first almost humanistic action you made today. “...sure.”

“I’m kidding, but about the comms. What makes you flapping your elbow, and the ultra-bright armpit, or whatever is your alien counterpart to the name, It’s a way of communicating? Are your bodies born with communicators or was something implemented into your body in order for that to happen?”

“Once again, that information is classified.”

“Okay, but the glowing armpit. What’s that about?’

The interview drowns for about an hour and you feel the human urge to sleep, which was rare since your species does not require as much as your counterpart does. The questions fall into the category of ones that could be answered and ones that could have Chan disintegrated, and he reaches his final ones, his rather important ones.

“Does your species believe in love?” he asks with a glint of hope in his eyes.

“We believe in the construct of building strong soldiers, leaders, and world builders. And by doing so we mate and use monogamous bonds to produce strong offspring and prevent unfavorable ones. Some are evolved enough to reproduce asexually and create a variation of their person that would do good for our society.”

That answer stuns him, quite a culture shock if he was honest, and he saw the muppet movie.

“...but love? Don’t any of you create bonds out of romantic intention?”

“Romance is a human concept that is, ironically, overromanticized to the point that your people are desperate enough to depend on technology to provide you a potential mate. My people have come far to realize we are our own people and reproduction is clearly recreational. There have been some cases where ‘intimate bonds’ are formed, but they are rare. Most of what my planet values are knowledge and sustenance. It’s what keeps my people alive.”

“So then the sex, mating you call it, is it not pleasurable as humans can perceive it to be?”

“Our pleasure receptors are not as sensitive or necessary as humans. It does not serve all the same purposes as it would for you.”

Chan hums, jotting that down, and pauses, glancing you up and down, before he proceeds with the next question. “Have you personally experienced…it?”

“Mating?”

“...yes.” a tinge of pink creeps up on his cheeks.

“I have yet to. My current tasks take precedence before I can move on to partaking in a career in reproduction if I decide to do so.”

His eyes shot open. “C-career?”

“Are we done here, tiny Earthling?” You blink at him blankly.

“Tiny–Sure we can stop for today. We can proceed with more tomorrow.”

“More,” you repeat, “what other information possibly desire?”

“Just,” he softly coughs, shutting down his camera, “other things. Meanwhile, we can get on with your study, if you want.”

“I’ve noted all I needed in my internal archive,” you respond standing up from your seat.

“Oh yeah, like what,” he smiles, curious.

You approach him at a steady pace, leveling with his gaze, and peering at him as his breath drew out of him reluctantly. It was much closer a distance than the one last night and in a much brighter setting. He's startled by the tension in your eyes, gripping the desk behind him for comfort, maybe restraint even.

“You have an escalated image of yourself and falter when I do anything to undermine that.”

“I’d think that's a natural response–”

“A lot of humans are more humble. Have a sense of shame. Not you. You do admittedly have higher level attention of most but lack the emotional intelligence.”

“Wh–rude.”

“And,” your arms border his sides, just hardly grazing his arm hairs on the desk, “You exhibit blood to your facial epidermis, an accelerating heartbeat, and perspiration, an abundance in fact, while in my presence.”

He grips harder against the wood, rapidly blinking his eyes, and sucking in his gut to minimalize physical contact.

“...You are an alien that tried to kill me.” He points out matter of factly.

“You use humor as filler, but your heart just accelerated by 20 beats per minute…I trigger your human nervous system. Why?”

Why was that? Because he expected a Simpson’s rendition of a foreign life form, not you. He may have known you to be wearing your human skin suit, something that should’ve set more flashing red warning signs than it actually did, but all he could feel was a gravitational pull towards you, something much more complicated than he could’ve ever explained.

“Like I said. You almost killed me.”

Your gaze drops down, letting Chan do the same, both pairs of eyes locked on the raging erection in his pants. His hands immediately shoot covering it, “Fear is an elevated study of arousal! It’s backed by science.”

“If your cerebral cortex is projecting that idea, okay.” You back off of him, picking up your own items with intention of leaving. “I would like to interject. I am not clear why you chose to dissect me when you are so close with my comrade.”

He squints, his arouse state faltering in a matter of seconds, confusion in his place. “What? Who?”

“He is the specimen with a human-made tablet in his hand wherever he goes. The goal was for him to make himself inconspicuous in the human eyes, but he discovered your people’s ‘Netflix’ and has been utilizing it non-stop.”

Chan’s eyes shot open again for the umpteen time. “HANSOL?!”

WRITING PROJECTS: Sad, Beautiful, Tragic [ongoing] | AO3 , Tumblr | fic tag

Losing someone is one thing. Losing someone you don't think you ever had is another thing. But losing someone never had, only to see them again two years deep into a war tearing the world apart? It’s the worst luck of the most terrible draw. And it’s the only lot that Ronald Speirs seemed to pull.

In December of 1942, Daisy Clarke made herself a promise — she would not pen another letter to Ronald Speirs, no matter how many he sent to her.

Apparently, she needn't write one anyway — because the universe would deliver her directly to him after she becomes a nurse to do her part in a war felt on both sides on the Atlantic. It’s June, 1944 — now forced to face what she left behind head-on, one has to wonder if she can upkeep the promise she made all those years ago, or if her resolve will crumble when facing the man who once lived right across the street.

And one also has to wonder why she would take such a vow to begin with.

That’s all the pop culture kinda things I can think of off the top of my head?

First of all, I think Taylor Swift songs just fit Leo in general, especially her older stuff. Her newer songs fit One a lot more, though, and I can see him really liking her music (new and old, though he doesn't admit it out loud)-- I love the song Vigilante Shit for him-- he also really likes MCR and is more open to admitting it.

Two is either going to love or hate Taylor Swift. I think he can tolerate her newer music but he can't stand the older stuff, since it's more in the country genre. He does like MCR, though.

Conclusion: Taylor Swift- yay (One), nay (Two) | MCR- yay (One + Two) | neither banned (One won't let Two ban Tay-Tay)

I think for the most part, One and Two would find Disney/Pixar movies cheap and sappy, though they admire the villains (like Maleficent, Ursula, Hades, etc.)-- oh my god, I can totally see One singing and taking a liking to Poor Unfortunate Souls wsfghs-- but I think their opinions vary depending on what movie it is.

Conclusion: Disney/Pixar- yay (both, though it depends on the movie) | not banned strictly because of the villains (again, depends on the movie).

I've seen ATLA once and I don't really remember what happens, but from what I remember, I think One and Azula share a lot of similarities, as well as Two and Zuko. I can see One and Two relating to these characters, especially since, I think their (Azula and Zuko's) relationship is sort of similar to One and Two's.

I think One and Two would enjoy the first part of ATLA until it starts hitting too close to home and then it gets harder for them to sit through.

Conclusion: ATLA- yay (both)/nay (both) | banned after a certain point

I have a headcanon that Leo is the one who introduced his brothers to Jupiter Jim, so in EMD, Raph and Mikey hadn't gotten super into the JJ films or comics until after they meet the twins.

This would have to be a lot later in the story, when One is more comfortable with humans and whenever he wants to explore more of the pop culture and stuff. I think it would be neat if One finds out about Jupiter Jim and introduces it to the fam after taking a liking to it. Raph and Mikey would get hooked immediately, but I think it'd take longer for Two to get into it, but he does and he ends up loving it.

Conclusion: Jupiter Jim- yay (both) | not banned

I love FMA and I think the twins would, too. The relationship between Ed and Al is the relationship One and Two want to have with each other.

I think One can especially relate to Ed because of the risks he took (sacrificing an arm and a leg) to save his brother's spirit-- One also has a crush on him hahah jk, unless..-- I don't remember much about Ed and Al's father, but I can tell you right now that One probably wouldn't like the guy. He sees too much of Draxum in him and he doesn't like it.

Two would absolutely love the show and he'd take a special liking to the steampunk-esque meets magic aesthetic. Two would probably dwell the most on Ed and Al's relationship and wish that One would treat him how Ed treats Al. He'd probably find Ed frustrating-- he reminds him too much of One-- he'd like and admire Winry and would probably relate to her more than Al.

Conclusion: FMA- yay (both) | not banned

For 70s/80s I'll only touch on Alien and Grease because those are the ones I've actually seen lol.

I think Two would like Alien a lot. I have an aesthetic board for concept pics of what Two's battle shell could be based on and a lot of them are alien-looking, beetle-like, spiky things that I think Two would just adore. He loves insects :) As for Grease, he'd probably hate it.

One is the opposite. He likes Grease more than Alien. I have no explanation.

Conclusion: Alien- yay (Two), nay (One) | Grease- yay (One), nay (Two) | banned because whenever one film is playing, One or Two disses on the film so bad, they fight.

Jessieeee!! I binged your Jurassic Island fic the other day and I am absolutely OBSESSED🙌🙌🙌 I can’t stop thinking about it, it’s so damn good!❤️❤️❤️ It really does show how passionate you are about this project and how much love and care you put into it:) I don’t know if you have plans to continue it, but either way, I just wanted to say that it’s incredible and I love it very much and everyone should go read it😊

AB! You're so sweet please 😭 Thank you for this! I do have plans to continue it, but I do move slowly in it because I do want it to be what I want the end product to be. It's definitely a passionate project, I loved the actual book soooo much.

But I have a Tom ETL that's living in my head 25/8 that's begging to be written at the same time so I have both documents up consistently

I have in chapter 10 from Reese Taylor's and AJ Jones's POV as of right now. The only one I can see changing is AJ to Brenna instead, but I do really enjoy AJ in the story!

In the spirit of the fic itself, this is from a (later) chapter in a scene that's already been written:

“No,” Brenna says with tear-filled eyes. “No, you’re going to do it yourself because we’re getting off this island. I’m not leaving without you.”

It's far from over, and while those we've lost have been ones that we can accept... There will be ones that rip our hearts out. But I'm happy you're enjoying it 🤍🤍🤍

New TMNT OC?? yeah. meet Galileo

it was created after the original four and is a southern painted turtle. despite being created after the original 4, they are older then Raph due to being a older turtle when mutated (about 5 when mutated, made 2 years after the OGs) They we're created by Draxum as a last ditch attempt and were part of the same batch as Venus de Milo, with these two being the only survivors for health reasons. (others were born with deformities that couldn't be fixed and died not long after hatching/mutation)

Galileo renamed themself from Madonna (after Madonna of Burges) around age 13, mutation year 8, when it realized they were trans. he doesn't have mystic powers and doesn't have Hamato DNA, but that is still considered a sibling by the turtles, if only a half sibling really.

Galileo, despite their name, is less interested in astronomy and prefers paleontology. they specifically prefer carnivorous theropods and will go out of their way to correct people on facts and anatomy. it is autistic as well, dinosaurs actually being his special interest. That prefers that/it/he/they pronouns and is agender. They're 5'8 and had to have braces as a kid, they fear doing that again but also hate their retainer, so it's a difficult balance. Galileo's colors are seen as Yellow, but that actually prefers orange or red. They took yellow cause Venus took green, so they could be lemon lime :)) Galileo's weapons are clawed hand armor/metal glove things (idk what they're called ;-;) and boots with spurs, as they prefer hand-to-hand combat.

When they finally meet the Hamato's it's during the awkward family dinner scene, Draxum insisting on bringing his children to meet their half-siblings. Venus and Galileo sat side by side, literally, and watched the chaos go down until Mikey dragged them in. Mikey and Galileo get along well, Venus and Galileo are typical siblings, Raph and Galileo don't get along the best at times but they manage, Leo and Galileo aren't that close but still enjoy hanging out, Donnie and Galileo are really close, almost as close as Venus, and share a love for science, biology and facts in general. April and Galileo are pretty good friends, not sibling level of friends, but close enough to have 'girls nights' with Venus, Mikey and Donnie. Splinter, Venus and Galileo all have a strained relationship, as Splinter sees them as his children not long after they meet, but Venus and Galileo don't see him as their father, but as an adult who happens to be involved. Eventually they do slowly see him as a father, but it takes a while.l and some perseverance.

DON'T LIKE HISTORY

People keep telling me they're not into history. If they're thinking about high school, textbooks, or documentaries on the history channel, then I understand completely. Forced learning stinks for sure. Especially when it's about something long ago or in a faraway land.

I see it differently. I would argue that most love history. Their formal K-12 school education setting and style aren't the first thing I see. Like the title character in the August Rush movie, history "is all around us."

We think of famous architecture and landmarks.

It almost doesn't matter what you do enjoy. Most likely, you do enjoy history. Let me prove it to you.

Sports is the number one pastime in America. Can a football fan tell you the famous players and games by their team? If I say, Walter Payton or Joe Montana, do they know who I'm talking about? Of course, they do. Just like Wayne Gretzky or Bobby Orr in hockey,

Mickey Mantle and Ozzie Smith in baseball,

or Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain in basketball. They know about the Ice Bowl, the Miracle on Ice, the 1989 Bay Area World Series, and recognize the Triple Crown Award (more than one sport).

How about Heisman Winners in the past? How many great college players can you name that were terrible in the pros? I can name several and I am no expert. Who were the best college players ever?

Has anyone ever moved through a defensive line like Barry Sanders or will anyone ever again? I miss watching that guy play!

Car buffs love their cars. Some love the Shelby Cobra and others go back to the Duesenberg and Vauxhall's.

Cars have become a part of Hollywood lore as well, with Knight Rider, The Dukes of Hazzard, The A-Team, the Batmobile, the Ghostbusters ambulance, and Jurassic Park jeeps.

I love movies and thought about going to USC for film school. If I spoke about Steven Spielberg affecting people with his movies, would it make sense? Jaws made people afraid to go into the water. Indiana Jones made people want to explore. His movies moved the public's perception from fear of Orson Welles' War of the Worlds

to his own tale of wonder in Close Encounters of the Third Kind and then to an awkward loveable buddy E.T.

Schindler's List broke the world's heart with portrayals of the holocaust. Jurassic Park brought dinosaurs back to life.

Do you realize that Jurassic Park was released in June of 1993? I graduated high school months before. Now I feel old.

Even in television shows, what was your favorite? Was it Mash? It was a rare combination of heart-clutching realities, tender moments, and needed comic relief. I watched the final episode.

Maybe it was Seinfeld or Friends.

Or Alex Trebek who's no longer with us, just like Robin Williams. Such great entertainment history.

I love music and its history.

Most who love cooking have heard the name Julia Child. I know people that were friends. She was a legend.

Collect shoes? Here's a picture of Chuck Taylor sneakers from their first go-round.

I love business history and remember this well.

Fashion is an obsession in America. Even I know about Oscar de la Renta, Tom Ford, Ralph Lauren, Stella McCartney, and Versace.

I love the scene in the movie The Devil Wears Prada, with Meryl Streep explaining to Anne Hathaway where her careless fashion choices were decided by the people in the room.

"This… “stuff”? Oh, okay. I see you think this has nothing to do with you.

You… go to your closet, and you select… I don’t know, that lumpy blue sweater for instance, because you’re trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back, but what you don’t know is that that sweater is not just blue, it’s not turquoise, it’s not lapis, it’s actually cerulean.

You’re also blithely unaware of the fact that, in 2002, Oscar de la Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns, and then I think it was Yves Saint Laurent, wasn’t it?… who showed cerulean military jackets? I think we need a jacket here.

And then cerulean quickly showed up in the collections of eight different designers. Then it filtered down through the department stores and then trickled on down into some tragic casual corner where you, no doubt, fished it out of some clearance bin.

However, that blue represents millions of dollars of countless jobs, and it’s sort of comical how you think that you’ve made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry, when in fact, you’re wearing a sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room… from a pile of “stuff.”

Undoubtedly, Hatheway's character was unaware and probably didn't care, but everyone in the room did. It is the world they love and they know the history very well.

One more for the crowd. Who remembers playing these?

I wish we'd talk about the history of our loves that way. History still evokes emotion and memories, even just seeing pictures.

Celine Dion I came out of the womb listening to her, Stacie orrico the first album I remember buying. Aqua, Roxette, Daze, toy-box, hit' n' hide, Amy jo Johnson, jo jo, the Jonas Brothers, Anastacia, heart, Eurythmics, Phil Collins, Katy perry, Hannah Montana the bee gees and big time rush to name a few I also own a lot of Taylor swift and enjoy the the backstreet boys. My mom loves tina turner and my dad loves stevie nicks, they are both amazing artists.

As for movies, I have seen all of the Star Wars movies. I am evidence is a great documentary that mariska hargitay did on ending the backlog of untested rape kits.

i do apologise for my untimely responses, i will try to respond quicker from here on out. based on your response to my last ask, we seem to have the same interests. how lovely. i think classic rock music was my introduction to all things vintage. i have been a classic rock fan for a while now and i don’t think that will change anytime soon. besides music, i do enjoy watching a lot of older films, especially ones from the 40s-50s. i always think there’s something special about them.

i do enjoy listening to many of the bands you mentioned. i don’t recall whether i mentioned this in my last ask but i am a huge fan of the beatles and kinks! you mentioned you like the beatles, what’s your favourite song by them? favourite album? mine faves always change so it’s always difficult for me to pick a favourite haha.

antiques! oh finally someone who is a fan of antique things. not too many of us now, is there? do you collect? i am an antique collector, though lately i’ve been slacking in that department since moving to a new place. i do want to try and pick it back up soon. just need to find some good antique places in my area.

Hello there! It’s alright, I totally get how difficult it can be. I’ve been busy myself. I’m a full-time student and finals are coming up. I still have a lot of studying to do. I told my Secret Santa…partner (What do we call the other person messaging with the Secret Santa??) that I may take me some time to respond.

So classic rock was what got you interested in vintage things. How interesting. For me it was classic films definitely. I think I got into much older films after one of my teachers in I think elementary school mentioned the actress Elizabeth Taylor in class. I got curious and looked her up on the Internet. Soon after that, I got interested in other old Hollywood actresses and then eventually started watching the films. Do you have any favorite actresses from the 40s and 50s? I really like Bette Davis, Vivien Leigh, Barbara Stanwyck, and Joan Fontaine. Before that I would watch a lot of movies with my dad. Not really old films but ones I would say are like 80s and 90s nostalgia so Jurassic Park, The Goonies, the Indiana Jones movies, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit. That’s what made me love films. In fact, I used to be a film major! I would listen to the oldies with my dad too but I only became a more serious fan fairly recently. I listened to some 60s music on Spotify one day and I was soon obsessed with that era. Classic Rick was my top genre on Spotify.

Oh lovely, another Kinks fan! Isn’t Ray Davies a songwriting genius? The lyrics in their songs are so wonderful and inventive. This may be controversial but I like their music better than the Beatles. It’s a shame their fame didn’t really reach the same heights as The Beatles. I think them being banned in America may have contributed, unfortunately. I’ve been hearing talk about them releasing a new album or something like that? Anyways, love them alot. My all-time favorite Kinks song is Sunny Afternoon ☀️.

Yes, I love the Beatles too. Oh yeah I get it. It’s hard for me to pick favorites too. By the way, what did you think of Now and Then? I thought it sounded a little off but otherwise good. My favorite Beatles songs And I Love Her (sooooo pretty and romantic. This song is one of their crowning achievements if you ask me), Eleanor Rigby (sad song about loneliness), Dear Prudence, Girl, and She’s Leaving Home (love the violin and story in the lyrics). As for favorite album, I don’t really have one but I do like Rubber Soul and its sort of fall aesthetic. What about you? What are your favorite Kinks and Beatles songs? You can say multiple if it’s too hard! Also, do you have a favorite Beatle? Mine is George but also like John and Ringo?

I try to collect antiques here and there but it’s not really a serious hobby. I love going to antique stores and thrift stores and just browsing. The one item I do remember getting from a antique book was an old book about Joan Crawford films. It has pictures from her films and the reviews from the time they were released. Really the only antiques I “collect” are the ones I see on Tumblr. Those shoes from the 1940s I reblogged? So pretty, right? Is there a specific type of antique you like the most like clothing, art, books?

It sounds spooky in the beginning, doesn’t it? Like what you’d hear in a haunted house. I think it does well to convey the madness and terror of war.

If there was a song that made me want to get up and dance, it’s this one and I’m not a dancing person at all! Whenever I hear it, I have the urge to move around a little quicker.

18. Song that describes my year

My year has really not been much different from the one that came before. I rarely do anything different so I get bored of it just like the singer. I don’t literally want to run away. I love my family and home. I like going to school and learning. I want to “run away” figuratively. Have some adventure and take risks, you know? I go to school but I want do so much more. I’d love to travel to other countries.

June 13th - Free day

Today was a lot of fun, kind of to my surprise. I got very little sleep, and woke up around 6:30 and still had not decided if I wanted to go to universal or not. I decided I was not going and was going to go back to bed, but was convinced by Raj. So reluctantly I got up and got ready in 5 minutes and went downstairs to meet up with everyone else (Eliza, Sam, Vishnu, Ana, and Emily) and then met Raj and Chase at the starbucks. I had just gotten my ticket on the way to the train station and was nervous it was not going to work because the app said it was invalid. We all ended up getting in with no problems and also successfully got the super nintendo world tickets that we were all hoping for. I was going to message Nico and rub it in his face, but I decided to choose peace and friendship over violence, so I deleted my message. We first went on the Hollywood dream rollercoaster that lets you pick a song to listen to while you ride, I picked Shake it Off by Taylor Swift. The song was a good choice as it pumped me up and I was dancing along, the ride was a lot of fun. We then went to Super Nintendo World at our specified time, and let me tell you it was breath taking. There were only two rides, one of which was a vr like ride where we are in mario cart, very cool, the other is not worth mentioning. After mario world we decided to go on the Jurassic Park ride, which is a rollarcoaster that hangs you face down. Terrifying. The whole ride I was just thinking about how my whole body weight is resting on the safety bars and that at any moment it could open and I could plummet to my death. Therefore, I did not really get to enjoy the ride, but we did see guy Sam on the way up on the rollarcoaster and met up with him after. Vishnu was clearly physically affected by the intesity of the ride, as we had just eaten before hand, but he managed to hold it together. Everyone wanted to go on the Jaws ride, so I decided today was the day to face my fears and break the promise I made to myself years ago, that I would never go on this ride, as I have a very weird and specific fear of anamatronics in the water. Possibly submecanicaphobia, but I wont self diagnose. Girl Sam was kind enough to hold my hand throughout and Vishnu tried to scare me more, but I wouldnt expect any less from him. After that we went to a cafe and got these mario themed strawberry shortcakes that were really good, but me, guy Sam, Raj, and Vishnu were tired so we went home after we finished our snack. After the long day, I am back in my room, and ready for bed. I dont have as much energy as I did in my youth. Overall, great day.
