so i took this picture,
Tumblr media
and brightened it a ton so here’s little things i see in mirabel’s side of the nursery the day of her ceremony :)
Tumblr media
the little bear that pepa is holding when mirabel asks about bruno. she picks it up with antonio’s things so it looks like she passes this toy down to him. 🥺
Tumblr media
little drawings of the family on the wall. i can see mirabel holding a little butterfly wand with butterflies around her, pepa and a rainbow, dolores, augustín and mirabel together, i think I see julieta behind abuela’s head, abuela, isabela, and luisa.
Tumblr media
this corner of the room which has a book along with a bookshelf, a mini building on the shelf, and what looks like a picture of julieta and augustín
Tumblr media
this side of the room has a guitar, a ball, a tapestry, butterfly’s hanging from the ceiling, and the exact sheets and pillow she will have ten years later (i’m still salty about how casita or this family never gave her a room)

Encanto AU where Mirabel is just a little less patient and burns the fucking house down. It's great that Alma apologized but everyone else needs to apologize too, with the exception of Bruno, Antonio, Felix and Augustin who have never done anything wrong, ever.

Do the three (maybe four if Hallow!Pepa tags along) have an Empty/Hub AU to live in if they want to get away from family but hang out with each other.
By Empty/Hub AU, I mean that there's no townspeople, just the empty houses and empty Casita. The group could claim the Casita and its magical candle and make use of it for their personal needs.
The town could expand based on Madrigals that survived the deletion of their AUs. Each house is selected on how many and comes alive for that family like a little casita. Any Pepa’s gift (aside from Hallow) is contained to their house than the Encanto? The Group mainly oversees its running with new occuplants; food and clothes and such.... Plus any Suvivor!Madrigals may find new love with the counterparts of lost wives/husbands if they so choose too...
I feel this is a place Hallow!Pepa likes more than her own AU. Settle in that casita and have fun with fog lol
Ten bets Scrappy and the rest has a middle finger mounted up on a wall just for the fun of it...
Thoughts?
Fuck yeah! Empty Hub!
That's actually pretty cool, an AU where the deleted could hang out!
They'll claim the casita alright! Maybe Observer might even check if everything they need is there for the four of them.
The deleted Madrigals might look at Observer with a horrified look though, she already has a casita and another one with the ones she almost killed? Trauma for them, vacation for her lol.

I haven't thought about Encanto in forever. Remember how Mirabel was a teenager still living in her family's nursery? Remember how she was denied the basic right of growing up because she failed to conform to her family's standards? Ever think about young people being infantalized by their societies because they can't conform to the standards of "adulthood"? Do you?

Happy Valentine’s Day! Could you do anything encanto?
a continuation of 1 2
Things are so much better now than they were before, than they’ve ever been, but even still Bruno still hides away.
Augustin hopes it’s more because some habits are hard to break and less because he wants to run from them. Instead of his cold and barren tower, he has a warm and cheerful bedroom, one right in the middle of the house and not tucked away and ignored. Maybe he just likes to lie in his room, on his soft bed, when that isn’t something he’s had since he was in the nursery.
“I’m worried about your uncle,” Augustin says, because there’s playing dirty and there’s just being efficient.
Mirabel frowns. “What’s wrong with Uncle Bruno?”
“He just seems a little down. Could you check on him?” he asks.
She pushes herself to her feet and nods, a determined set to her mouth that’s all her mother.
Bruno is powerless against Mirabel’s persistence, and she’s someone he can never bring himself to turn away, no matter the mood he’s in.
Julieta gives him a sly look. “You could just talk to him yourself, you know.”
“Our bonding is manly and silent and mostly through falling off of cliff faces together,” he says, lifting his nose into the air. “You wouldn’t understand.”

Give it to your sister
Fandom: Encanto
Characters: Mirabel, Luisa
Summary: Mirabel hides sometimes. Luisa is no stranger to things becoming too much.
A/N: I am late as usual and just watched Encanto and needed to write something because I love that family with my whole HEART. I'm not sure how much I'll write for it, but feel free to send me prompts for now and maybe I'll fill them!!
Words: 752
Mirabel hid sometimes, when it all became too much. She was certain no one noticed - everyone used to her being in the way, to her overwhelming urge to try to be of use. It always surprised her when she did it, because it was usually for the smallest reason. The last straw breaking the camel’s back. A change of tone. Someone ignoring her, or snapping at her, or the whole house moving to a rhythm she couldn’t keep up with and she finally realized she was tired. And so she hid. Not in the nursery, because that didn’t seem like hiding. Anyone could find her there. She didn’t want to be found.
Not immediately, anyway.
“There you are.” Mirabel caught the anxiety melting off of Luisa’s face when she looked up to find her crouching down to peek at her. “Only you would think to hide beneath Dolores’ bed.”
Mirabel grinned sheepishly. “I figured no one would expect me to go for the person who would hear me even approaching the door.”
Luisa laughed, delighted. “That’s clever. Too bad she could hear your breathing and told me to check on you. Scoot over.”
Mirabel did what she was told and didn’t bat a single eyelid as Luisa lifted the bed so that she could crawl under it too. “I’m fine,” she said before her sister could ask.
“You’re not.” She knocked their shoulders together as lightly as she could, but it still jostled her. “It’s okay. I don’t blame you.”
Mirabel wasn’t used to people noticing, except her mother. Even if they did, most of them kept quiet about it; her lack of powers as hush hush of a topic as Bruno’s existence. Antonio’s big day was approaching and the house was a whirlwind of preparations that she wasn’t getting included in. In fact, Abuela was probably two mistakes away from tying her to a chair to keep her from intervening. It was quite humiliating.
“Humiliating to be able to sit back and relax?” Luisa said when she’d finished ranting.
“To not be of use.” Despite her frustration she didn’t miss the way something flickered across Luisa’s face which she couldn’t fully interpret. “I don’t mean to complain, I promise-”
“It’s good to complain sometimes.” Luisa wasn’t looking at her, instead opting to pick at a speck of dust on the floor which only she seemed to be able to see. “It’s better than hiding.”
Mirabel buried her face in her arms, suddenly embarrassed. “I don’t mean to hide.”
“Hey.” A poke to her side. “Look at me.”
“Don’t wanna.”
Luisa let out a laugh. “Come on. Please.” She dragged out the word, almost singing it. Mirabel could picture her grinning, the way she would when they were younger and Isabela had pissed Mirabel off so that Luisa had to try to save the day. Luisa always tried to save the day. They were alike in that way, only at least her sister usually succeeded while Mirabel always failed.
Another poke to her side, as if Luisa could sense she was wallowing. “Mirabel.”
Mirabel whined, burying her face even deeper so that her nose was almost touching the floor. Maybe she should’ve found a better hiding spot.
The poke was suddenly aimed higher, which was definitely on purpose, and Mirabel cried out and tried to move her arm down to shove Luisa off, only Luisa grabbed it before she could and poked at her upper ribs again just where she knew it tickled.
“Luisa!” Mirabel shrieked, already laughing, realizing how close her sister’s now continuous pokes were to her armpit. “Don’t!”
“Should’ve looked at me when I asked you to.” She could hear Luisa’s smile in her voice, although she couldn’t see much as she’d knocked off her own glasses in her attempt to roll away in a space that was way too small for this type of activity.
Still she tried, rolling over to the side which Luisa was torturing to try to block her attacks, which of course just led to Luisa going for her belly, hugging her close in the process so that Mirabel couldn’t move away at all. Whatever she was saying through her laughter, Luisa ignored. Mirabel wasn’t entirely sure it made sense anyway, her words jumbled and choppy, her giggles bubbly and loud.
“I wonder how Dolores hasn’t burst in here yet, since it sounds like I’m murdering you.”
Dolores was, unbeknownst to them, standing just outside the room smiling at the sound of her cousins.

mirabel headcanons?
Absolutely! Here’s Mirabel headcanons:
Mirabel’s full name is Mirabel Teresa Rojas Madrigal
She is named after Saint Teresa of Ávila
Her birth was a disappointment as everyone had been expecting a boy
As a baby, Mirabel was very easy to please/soothe and didn’t enjoy being fussed over
Her first eleven words were all colours, starting with “purple” for Luisa
She had no interest in walking or crawling, until Agustín accidentally knocked a book off a shelf and she had to move to put it back. This started a long game of Agustín (and later Pepa) throwing books and Mirabel stopping what she was doing to walk over and put them back
Young Mirabel use to cry at mess
Subsequently, she had to eat separately from Camilo
Mirabel had her first eye test after Camilo’s ceremony, as she had been unable to see it
She has myopia in both eyes
The green frames are not for Bruno (who had no relationship with her), they are for Pepa because young Mirabel wanted to have green eyes like her Tía
Agustín taught her to play the piano very early on
Julieta taught her to sew
When stressed, she over cleans - a habit she picked up from her mother
The most popular theory of what her gift would be was sight, ironically. The family figured she was very observant and similar to Dolores, hence similar gifts
As she gets older, she gets mistaken for Julieta more frequently
Like her mother, she’s never had any desire to leave Encanto
Like her father, she burns very easily in the heat and therefore tends to carry around an embroidered parasol (that matches her skirt) during particularly hot days
She is known to be the most intelligent among the Madrigals
The biggest history nerd
Will find a way to make anything into a history lesson. Seriously ANYTHING. Definitely associates particular historical figures with her family members
Mirabel is the biggest bookworm in Encanto
She also has a fondness for philosophy
Her philosophy knowledge can be a bad mix with her overthinking, anxious mind. When she’s anxious or paranoid, her philosophy books are placed on the highest shelves in Casita
She is closest to Luisa
She didn’t start helping with Antonio until he reached the toddler stage/moved into the nursery with her, as she is uncomfortable around babies
She use to read to Antonio when they shared a room, so much that she unintentionally memorised the stories. She use to be able to recount them word for word while they were out and about town to calm him down
She can play the piano and accordion
She loves knitting. Never leaves home without some knitting needles and wool, just in case
She has no interest or skill in making clothes. She just likes the more decorative elements (embellishing), such as embroidery and beading
Probably gets a job as an embellisher in the future
She learnt French for the sole purpose of reading originally French books. She is fluent, as far as reading and writing goes. She is pretty terrible at speaking
She has very bad stage fright and hates public speaking. She also can’t act, like at all. If Tío Bruno or Camilo want her help with a show, she’ll only accept a backstage role
She is the shortest Madrigal and always will be. She uses it as a bragging right, as oppose to a weakness
She is aromantic asexual
She doesn’t want children. Maybe just a cat. Or three…. Or twenty.
Is a real old lady at heart
She has PTSD - that’s pretty self-explanatory
Is a bit of a workaholic, and therefore can be hypocritical to Luisa
Don’t argue with her. She will write an entire six page essay to prove you wrong with full evidence
Does have a habit of needing to be right, she gets it from Dolores
Mirabel does not want to be Alma’s successor

Hi just wanted to talk about an Au idea I had
Story: Mirabel when she was 9 found a crack in the mountains of the encanto. She told her family she was going on a camping trip(which was not technically wrong). She explored the outside of the encanto, 5 days into her trip she found a kingdom full of magic and non magical people in harmony. The kingdom was run by 4 kings and 3 queens, their all siblings that rule over the kingdom. Over time Mirabel gets close to the rolers and they (not officially) adopted mirabel as their little sister, calling her princesa Mirabel. Mirabel had a personal guard and a room in the castle. Mirabel one day came to the kingdom after getting yelled at by Alma, Isabella and pepa all in one day. She asked to be alone in her room, her guard listened to her request and stayed outside her door. mirabel went out through her window to the garden. What she didn't know was that the kingdom was at war and a soldier from the opposite nation killed her in cold blood. The solder was found and killed. Mirabel's guard felt like he failed his job. The rolers were angry at the madrigal family so they made 9 stitched dolls of mirabel and gave them each a fraction of Mirabel's soul. The dolls were made as a test, if the madrigal family didn't change their ways after the 9th one was gone they would destroy the encanto and only spare the kids. They put doll one in Mirabel's bed and the next day someone that looked just like Mirabel was in the nursery at Casita. The rolers erased the clones memories of the kingdom and her death(the original mirabel). Over time the clones replaced each other as the others found out the truth or Mirabel (the idea) had to look older. Doll 9 (the Mirabel we follow in the movie) was exploring a little bit outside the encanto when she found a person unconscious outside of the encanto. After healing and the person woke up she explained she was a seamstress at the castle and about the original mirabel and what happened and how the rolers believes that the madrigal family lost their last chance to change and where planning an attack.
Side ideas: the original mirabel never got to meet Antonio, the clones that know the truth call the original mirabel "the original", the clones call echother by their numbers, the clones live in the kingdom when they're replaced in the encanto
The other 8 clones personalities:
Una: Una was the first, she lasted the longest at a 2 whole years, she acts a lot like Alma but she will Punch you if you say that to her face. She spends most her time at the originals grave. She looks more doll like now more than human.
Dos: is flirting, guys, girls she don't care. Her and Una are the best guards in the kingdom. She has a few cuts here and there but is in perfect condition.
Tres: she is a book lover and will stay in the library most of the time. She loves to write. She has short hair that looks like yarn.
Cuatro: she acts a lot like Luisa, the only thing that calms her down is sleeping. She has a button eye because she lost her original eye.
Cinco: she is cold, angry, tough and she will attack now and ask questions later. She is missing an arm.
Sesi: is calm, caring. She loves to sing and will often sing at bars in the kingdom. She has the longest hair out of the clones.
Siete: she is always pissed at something, she loves to explore and will have a book that she keeps of all her magical findings. She will always have sticks and leaves in her hair for some reason.
Ocho: she is very restful of the 9th clone because Ocho was replaced the day before Antonio's birthday/gift ceremony. She gets her emotions out by sewing. She is always quiet and gets along with Siete the most. She rerooted her hair teal with light blue highlights.
All: they all hate Alma with a burning passion and will always say it. They would say it to her face to. They don't understand how the 9th can just forget alma
It is actually wild how they don’t see the clones, like ow??? Do you miss something like that, it is genuinely baffling to me. Like wrap it up, all nine of y’all can go home, where’s the og 💀💀 also the fact that og Mirabel never got to meet Antonio is so sad. I’m sobbing 😭 but like. It’s also strange how these more than likely grown rulers let her in during a war, personally I would never. But that’s just me ☹️
GET A GRIP⁉️⁉️🙏

Encanto Ficlet: Ladino Lullaby
For @wdtajn Week 4: Song! I had so much fun with these challenges. Thank you for running the event, and on a more personal note for helping me get back into writing!! 💚💚💚 Jewish Madrigals and pudgy Bruno ahoy 😌 To be posted on AO3!
Content warning: references to a major character's death (of old age, which should be a hint as to who it is) and the sadness that comes with it. Otherwise, the story is pure fluff.
...
The rocking chair in the nursery is a bit on the creaky side, though the sound is more soothing than anything else. Bruno’s set the chair in a gentle rhythm, halting at intervals with the balls of his feet pressed against the floor. In his arms, baby Mateo, Dolores and Mariano’s second-born, has begun to gum one tiny fist. He’s regarding his gran tío through long lashes; deep brown eyes rove over the man’s face.
“You hungry, kid?” Bruno asks as he watches his bissobrino continue to root. “Didn’t you just eat?”
Then, with a chuckle, he adds, “Or maybe you’re taking after your chubby ol’ gran tío, who’s always hungry, eh.” He dances his fingertips over Mateo’s fat little tummy.
Despite his easy tone, Bruno feels relieved when the baby releases his mitt, and even more so when he doesn’t show any signs of becoming fussy. The whole point of taking Mateo this time was to give Dolores a moment of rest. Of course she’d drop everything to tend to her son’s needs, but Bruno would rather not need to bother her. (“He seems alright,” he says aloud for her to hear.)
“Pbh,” Mateo grunts, brow wrinkling slightly as he stretches his drool-soaked hand toward his tío.
No visions are required to know what’s coming. Wiping away most of the goo with a well-timed burp cloth and slowing the rocking chair, Bruno tilts his head and lets his nose be captured. From there he maneuvers Mateo into a ‘standing’ position, maintaining support under the armpits and using his own plump tummy as a prop for those teeny feet.
“Ey, you! Respect the pancita,” he laughs when he gets frog-kicked in the belly. At no point has the burbling baby relented his grasp (with both hands, now) on his nose. But Bruno’s used to that. As an infant, Dolores showed the same fascination with his prominent snoot—all the sobrinos did: bopping it, studying it, and even, in Isa’s case, trying to suckle on it.
Eventually (and luckily), Mateo’s fingers start to slip from their hold. The yawn that soon follows makes his gran tío smile and give a small nod.
“I like the way you think, Maty.”
Cradling Mateo once more, Bruno reaches his free arm around to adjust the pillow sandwiched between his back and the chair. The years of odd sleeping postures have really been catching up to him. Resettled, he gazes down at his bissobrino, who appears as alert as ever.
“A-oh no, s-sorry!” He nestles the baby higher, and rocks more determinedly. “Let’s get you comfy again and ready for your nap time.”
For a second he wonders if offering his nose might help, but then he notices the burp cloth is still draped over his knee. Its hue, like that of a bright wine, sets in mind a different thought, a different idea.
Slowly, in the softest of tones, Bruno begins a nigun: “Lai da dai, da lai lai lai…”
As far as he knows, this particular wordless melody doesn’t fit the old Ladino lullaby that he remembers from his childhood. But it probably doesn’t matter. Surely, Mateo won’t judge either—not the mismatched tunes, or the off-key singing.
“…lai da dai,” Bruno warbles. “A la nana y a la buba…”
     Abuela’s lullaby
The baby blinks up at him as he does a refrain, voice hitching over part of the verse: Da lai lai lai, a la nana y a buba…”
“Se durma la criatura…” he continues.
     The child sleeps
At this line, he brushes a knuckle across Mateo’s pudgy cheek. Then, from the direction of the courtyard comes a cluster of muted but discernible sounds: a delighted giggle, a wet ploosh, and a baritone whoa—what can only be Mateo’s sister Felicidad practicing her watery Gift with their papá.
The mild commotion has Bruno suppressing a chuckle. But he quickly recovers and returns his attention to the lullaby and his bissobrino, whose increasingly sleep-heavy limbs had twitched in surprise at the noises.
Clearing his throat, he picks up where he left off, with the last pair of lines.
“El Dio grande que los guadre, los guadre…”
May the great G-d protect, protect
Just like a blessing, a comfortable hush descends upon the nursery. It seems that Felicidad and Mariano decided to move beyond the courtyard (and that perhaps Casita intervened by pushing them along).
“…A los niños de los males.”
     All children from sorrows
Bruno lets the final word trail off before humming the nigun again. He can see that Mateo is truly drifting off now, the very image of innocent repose.
For the next few minutes, the loudest things in the room are the rocking chair and Bruno’s low humming. His eyes finally drift from Mateo’s sleeping form to the burp cloth. …A purplish-red, like his mamá’s color. The lullaby was something she would to sing to her trillizos, and to each nieto when they were babies. It turned out to be a Jewish song—in Ladino, a Judeo-Spanish language, which none of them can really speak but which had nonetheless been passed down through the generations of Abuela’s family.
Abuela Alma herself had known Mateo for only a short time. She was unable to lull him to sleep with the same song, vocal cords too weak toward the end of her life. As Bruno looks at the cloth, the memory of his mamá’s voice floods his senses. He hopes he’s done the lullaby justice in her place.
Tears wetting his eyes, Bruno turns back to the baby tucked sweetly in his arms. Fast asleep, still. He knows that Dolores and Mariano had wanted to follow Sephardic custom and named their son after Abuela, giving him a Hebrew name that honored hers, which was Nehama.
“Dulces sueños, Mattityahu Nahum,” Bruno whispers with a damp smile. This kid will be linked to the past in so many ways, but… he'll have a path all his own, he thinks. It's a promise. The urge to nap washes over him then, and he yawns, melting into the chair.
. . .
Fast asleep is how Dolores finds them. She nudges Bruno first, informing him quietly, “Wake up, Tío. I heard your stomach growling.”
...
Note: the reference to Isabela trying to suckle on Bruno's nose comes from this Tumblr thread (thanks for the HC, @sketchncanto and @princesa-pens-and-pizza 😁)
The Ladino lullaby is called "A La Nana." I first learned about it from The Ladino Song Project.

Mirabel’s Loneliness and Lack of Respect
While I have noticed most of the Encanto fandom noticing and commenting on how it must’ve been for Mirabel to be in a family of superpowerful people, I wanted to make a post to further dissect how Mirabel is sometimes not given the proper respect she deserved just because she didn’t have a gift. And I wish that it was brought up in the movie and I hope if there’s any potential spin-offs, it gets brought up.
1. Alma and Dolores
Tumblr media
This one moment makes it very clear how Mirabel is viewed by her family, even her supporters. Alma, at least from what I can tell from her tone, thinks Mirabel is doing nothing but silly things. While Dolores insensitively answers for Mirabel about her status on having a gift. In other words, while her family loves her, they tend to dismiss her and be insensitive.
2. Not Special Special Gift
Tumblr media
Osvaldo meant well but giving her a pity gift while calling her gift day a “bummer” was both insensitive and not well thought out. Heck, Mirabel has to forcibly smile at his ill-conceived gesture out of politeness.
3. Gift of Denial
Tumblr media
A harsh burn at Mirabel’s expense. But one can’t help but wonder if Mirabel may agree with the burn more than she lets on.
4. Isabela’s “out of the way” comment
Tumblr media
Isabela accusing Mirabel of being in her way even though Mirabel didn’t move an inch after Isabela’s dramatic entrance. I guess Isabela inherited Alma’s tendency to scapegoat Mirabel for things she can’t control.
5. Agustin trying to commiserate
Tumblr media
While Agustin is a great father, when he tries to commiserate with Mirabel over them being one of the non-magical members, it falls somewhat flat (and I think Mirabel) might even be aware of it. Mirabel was expected to get a gift but didn’t while Agustin married into the family. As much as he tries to bond with her over this fact, Agustin still can’t fully understand his daughter’s plight.
6. Alma’s “advice”
Tumblr media
From this above pictured moment of Alma trying to dissuade Mirabel from helping with the decorations to trying to nicely tell to “step aside” so others more capable (i.e., those with gifts), Alma doesn’t believe Mirabel is able to help with anything family-related. And Mirabel just begrudgingly accepts it out of respect for her grandmother.
7. The whole nursery room
Tumblr media
It may have not been explicitly stated but come on. Mirabel is a teenager living in a nursery. A nursery that is meant for little kids. She then had to share her room with a then baby (Antonio) and he has his own room before she did. Yeah, she handles it like a champ but it must get to her on some days. She never had a room that was solely HERS. And she doesn’t understand why.
8. The people’s reactions of Mirabel helping Antonio
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The moment Mirabel goes to help Antonio to his door, the crowd stops smiling. All they do is gasp, glance worriedly/confusingly, and/or whisper among themselves. Even the reactions from her family is hardly any better - Julieta is worried for Mirabels sake; Camilo, Agustin, and Dolores are shocked; Luisa goes from shocked to quiet understanding, as she most likely know Mirabel is helping Antonio; Isabela is frowning because she thinks Mirabel will mess it up. And Mirabel is standing in front of them, so you know she catches the change in behavior.
9. The family picture
Tumblr media
That’s it. No one bothered to make sure she was included. Yes, Mirabel could’ve gone up with them as well (she wasn’t told to stay out of the picture) but it’s also telling that one thought about it.
10. No one believes her
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s quite telling of Mirabel not being respected when everyone thinks she made up her warning to get attention because she couldn’t handle getting a gift. Even her own family. The townspeople are one thing but to have your own family, they people who have known Mirabel since she was born automatically assume she’s acting out is telling. Even Julieta, one of Mirabel’s biggest supporters, assumes this about her daughter.
11. Family dinner
Tumblr media
How Dolores told everyone Mirabel’s secret. Not thinking how it might negatively affect Mirabel’s already low status in the family pool. How almost everyone looked at her with fear and/or confusion. How Isabela angrily said she hated her. How Pepa angrily asked what did she do. How no one gave her a chance to speak or give her side of the story. How Mirabel was blamed for ruining the dinner proposal even though it was Dolores who blabbed about the secret.
12. Isabela’s demand for an “apology”
Tumblr media
I think they could’ve handled their resolution better because it did feel like Isabela could’ve offered an apology. Yes, I know both sisters are at fault but Mirabel didn’t initiate the fights between them. It was Isabela, either with a catty comment or sneering look, she was the one being the most antagonistic to Mirabel for no reason.
13. Alma’s hurtful words
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This. This is the moment my heart broke. Alma doesn’t even bother to listen to Mirabel and goes on an angry rant blaming her own granddaughter for the misfortunes fallen on the family. She even reveals she harbors some resentment to Mirabel for driving Bruno away (this is true but Bruno left to protect Mirabel not in fear of her but still). And Mirabel looks ready to cry but wields herself not to. And her reaction implies that on some level, Mirabel knew how her grandmother truly felt about her but didn’t believe it. Until now. And heart is breaking. Even though they made amends in the end, I like to think Mirabel might understandably have some lingering anger over this moment. I wouldn’t blame her.

Okay how about baby Vaggie falling asleep during movie night
Here you go! sorry its really short, I didn't have much plot to work with
Vaggie was excited. She could hardly stand still. It was movie night for the hotel and Vaggie was regressing. So Charlie had a great idea to watch a Disney movie. It would be a great way to help her get more comfortable with regressing around the others.
“Alright, which stuffy do you want to take with you?” Charlie asked once she finished getting her into a fresh diapie and onesie.
“Hmmm, I wan da goat!” she pointed to her goat plushie on the bed. Charlie walked over to the bed and plucked it off before handing it to the girl. Vaggie took it before putting her arms up, asking for uppies. Charlie picked her up and began carrying her downstairs.
In the lobby and common area, alastor, Lucifer, Husk, and angel were sitting on the couches, waiting for them. Vaggie got excited and jumped out of her caregivers arms and ran to the couch.
“Aww, someone’s happy,” Angel cooed over her. She nodded, paci in her mouth and hands flapping.
Nifty came over with popcorn for everyone while vaggie was picking out a movie. She picked out Encanto and snuggled in Charlies lap as the movie started.
About a third of the way through, Vaggie’s eyelids began to feel heavy. She felt eepy and tired. Snuggling up closer to charlie, she soon fell asleep fast.
Charlie noticed her little had gone limp in her hold. She sighed with smile, petting her hair gently as she heard soft snores. She lifted her up and walked away from the group. As she carried her up to her nursery, she heard her start cooing in her sleep. She awed at the cuteness.
When she walked into the nursery, she carried her over to the crib and tucked her into bed. She pulled up the rails to it and closed the door.

Encanto/LMK crossover
Basically Xiaojiao was trying to find a random artifact that Sun Wukong somehow threw in Colombia and instead got a plant-wielding girlfriend. Also known as Isabela who ran away from her engagement because she learned Mirabel was planning to move out of the house.
(It wasn't like Mirabel was moving out of the Encanto, she was moving into the seamstress's house bc she was becoming her apprentice and wanted to free up room in the nursery for Mariano's five kids. Still, Isabela was too panicked to think. The apprenticeship has been paused for the moment because holy shit my sister's disappered.)
Isabela and Xiaojiao figured it would be a simple hook-up but Isa got a burst of panic at the thought of returning to everything and they ended up returning to China together.
Xiaojiao is helping Isa work through her perfection issues, assuring her that she doesn't need to be perfect. Isa is embracing the modern world, freaking out that the Encanto is just a bubble of magic in a whole world full of magic. She hasn't started growing catcuses yet, but they're working on it.

Waking up in the nursery didn’t hurt. Mirabel had been doing that as long as she could remember. Sometimes, she remembered quickly. Other mornings she made it all the way downstairs, feeling like last month when she was four years old and full of magic she just hadn’t discovered yet. Then Mamí would look at her and scrunch her eyebrows together even though she was smiling, or Isabela’s flowers would wilt when she walked into the room, or Camilo would look at her and turn back into himself, and she remembered.
Life begins to settle, after Mirabel turns five. But something’s missing.

Encantober 2023 Day 8: Question
Julieta has been pregnant with her second child for seven months now, and she has been showered with nothing but affection and support from her family and the rest of the Encanto. She was getting close to the end of her pregnancy, which meant Alma had to bring the spare arepas and take her place in healing the village until her child was seven months old.
Knowing that she was the only one pregnant this time around made Julieta feel a little bit nervous. During her last pregnancy, she had Pepa pregnant with her, so they could work through their pregnancies together. Now, she was on her own. She did not have her sister to let her pregnancy hormones out with her this time; but at least she can support her in other ways. Now that her daughter just turned two years old, and her niece will be two in two weeks, she has even more support than she did in her first pregnancy.
Isabela has especially been excited about the new baby since Julieta announced her pregnancy. She and Dolores have been pretending to feed and change their baby dolls to practice being the best big sister and cousin they could be. Seeing them as excited as they were about the new baby was enough for Julieta to know Isabela was going to be the best big sister and Dolores was going to be the best big cousin.
It was not until one day when the toddlers were playing in the living room and Julieta and Pepa were watching over them when the sisters got the question that would shock them for a while. They did not think they were going to get this question until the girls were at least four years old.
Julieta sat on the couch with Pepa as they watched over their daughters coloring together. When the girls were finished with their pictures, they gave them to their mothers and they looked at them. Isabela’s drawing was of herself and the baby outside on a sunny day next to a tree. She was giving the baby a flower in the picture. Dolores’s picture was of herself and Isabela holding the baby, with Dolores singing a song to her.
“These are such beautiful pictures, mija! We’re going to hang these in the nursery so all three of you can see them,” said Julieta.
“Gracias, mami,” Isabela replied.
The girls climbed onto the couch to sit on their mothers’ laps and hugged them as tightly as they could. Knowing that the baby will have pictures of their big sister and cousin will let her know that she has so much love in this house. Julieta knew the baby will love Isabela and Dolores just as much as they will love her.
“Mami, Tia Juli, we have a question,” Dolores pointed out.
“What is it, mi vida?” Pepa asked.
“Where do babies come from?” Isabela asked.
That was when Julieta and Pepa’s hearts sank in shock. “You want to know… where babies come from?” said Julieta.
“Si.”
“What made you think of that?”
“Baby Luisa is in your tummy. How did the baby get inside you?”
The sisters’ hearts sank even more. They know the stork story is out of the question because Isabela asked how the baby got inside her tummy. They needed to think of something, and fast; because when Isabela asks a question, that’s all she would ask for the entire day. She wanted to know why this and why that. So avoiding the question and changing the subject was not an option for them.
“Querida, do you remember when your abuela told you girls the story of the stork a couple months ago?”
“Si, we remember,” Dolores chimed in.
“Well, there’s more to that story. When a stork comes and delivers that baby, he uses his magic to let the baby grow in a mommy’s tummy for nine months. Then, when the baby is ready to come out, the doctors have to help get the baby out, which is why you see lots of babies being born at the hospital.”
“Is that like where our magic comes from?” Isabela asked.
“It’s kind of where our magic comes from, except the magic is spread all over the Encanto and beyond.” Pepa added.
“So I came from the stork’s magic?” Dolores asked.
“Yes, you did.”
“And me?” Isabela asked.
“You too,” Julieta replied.
“And baby Luisa came from the stork’s magic too?”
“Si, mi amor.”
“I can’t wait for baby Luisa to be born so I can tell her that she came from magic just like us and Casita!”
Isabela and Dolores made their way off of their mothers’ laps and ran upstairs with their pictures. They made their way into the nursery and slammed the door to play some more. Julieta and Pepa sighed in relief when they saw their daughters satisfied with the answer they were given and moving on with a new activity. Crisis averted.
