I recently re-watched Encanto after a while, and Luisa REALLY reminded me of Kouko, so I figured I'd draw this! I've been insanely busy lately, but I managed to squeeze this in because brainrot LMAO I'll probably draw another happier doodle of Kouko as Luisa later on, because it's so cute, but for now, angst.

Surface Pressure really strikes me as a Kouko song, not just because Kouko and Luisa have plenty of things in common, but also because it's a song about being a older sibling and the immense pressure of trying to protect your younger siblings. A TON of Kouko's character motivation is avenging her little sister she couldn't save when she was a child. I would've drawn Fuyuko in Mirabel's clothing, but I figured it was sadder to make her a silhouette because Kouko has no idea what an older Fuyuko would look like for obvious reasons.

I love how the skirt came out, but the light source layer made it really difficult to shade the shirt, so I may redraw this in the future when I figure out how to tweak it to work properly! Otherwise, though, I really like how it came out!

last week of WDTAJN!!! I CANT BELIEVE ITS OVER ALREADY ;;O;;

Why’s Camilo such a popular character? His verse was good and ig he had a few funny lines, I appreciate that he wasn’t a stereotypical emo bleak teenager that’s disrespectful but like…what does he add to the movie to fuel this cult following that he has? Also I don’t see the ideas that he has identity issues or is gender fluid. I feel like Disney queer-codes a lot of their characters (Alberto from Luca, Namarri and Raya from RTLD, I’m blanking on her name rn but Mei’s deadpanned friend from turning red) and Camilo just isn’t giving me that vibe. I also don’t get the vibe that he has identity issues, if anything he seems pretty happy with his powers. He’s just a side character but people say things like he carried the movie and that he needs his own movie and I don’t get it. If any side character needs their own movie then I think Pepa or even Luisa are better suited since they’re a lot more interesting then him but I wanna know what all the hype is about.

Played this game with the Oddtaxi Discord server, along with some family members and these were the results I got. Pretty interesting overall and I like how my flat style can out too.

I am sure someone else has already come to this one. But...

I hope that there's a fanfic out there for Encanto where Antonio spends his first night in his room hearing from the rats about Bruno. So that when Mirabel goes into Bruno's room, he hears and he sends the toucan Pico. And then Pico comes back and tells him what has happened. He learns from the animals that his Tío Agustín has pieces of Bruno's last prophecy and ask them to put it together so everyone can see. Because keeping quiet has clearly not done too well!

Because then later when he encounters Mirabel and Bruno in the walls, he's just sooo nonchalant. Like there is no way this little kid hasn't spent the past night coming to terms with the fact that his Tío who disappeared 5 years before he was born has always been here watching over them all. He is ready to help in any way. And if that means helping them all face what has gone on? Yes!

I mean he's a little kid who is very shy and doesn't "find his voice" until the animals are there to be his literal support. I dunno. I would just love to read a story about his behind the scenes encouragement of all of the older kids and adults sorting out their problems. 😂😊
