✨Her dress is inspired by the old concept designs of Dolores.

✨The musical notes on her dress are the notes for "Welcome to the Family Madrigal".

💓 "Princess Dolores, the Mistress of Music" 💓

She can hear a pin drop and anything from a mile away.

What seemed like a blessing feels more like a curse.

To drown out the unwanted sounds, she strengthened the power of music.

She is the most talented musician in the entire empire and earned the title as its mistress.

She did her best to help raise her siblings in the absence of their mother. But the Empress still deemed her unworthy of the throne, as her people seemed to have favored the Prince of Many Faces even more. Whilst hiding all this pain in secret, her only solace are the poems of a poet: a nobleman who took a liking to her cousin, the Princess of Nature or "The Flower of the Empire".

She may be the most talented musician, but she has been stuck in the shadows of just about everyone in her entire life and has longed for her voice to be heard.

Thought of some angst inspired by the Isabela room scene

Maybe at some point Mirabel wanted to ask for Javi’s help figuring out how to save the magic but after trespassing his room (which is a BIG NO NO for Javi) and Mirabel reminding him of how his absent father is involved in all of this ( especially in the middle of a stressful situation the whole family is facing in the film ) can really take a toll on his mental health . Of course Javi asked her to give him space at first but she still insisted which caused his room to turn red and it’s temperature to turn alarmingly cold (since the atmosphere of his room reflects his strong emotions) before he demanded her to leave him alone. This goes to show how Javi has a tendency to push people away (sometimes literally) even to his loved ones. After Mirabel promptly leaves ( more like dragged away by his powers ), he goes to hide away at the deepest corner of the cavern. The room slowly fading to hues of deep blue.

Looking at these official storyboards and concept art for Isabela’s transformation during “What Else Can I Do?”, always makes me just say that we were ROBBED of her wearing a cool punk rock dress and a flower crown!

Don’t get me wrong, I love the splattered and colorful dress Isa had once she had her breakthrough during the song, but THESE ideas I have to admit, are so much more cooler and amazing! She’s got spikes, vines, PAINT on her face, and a beautiful flower crown, and she looks gorgeous! Lin Manuel himself said that her song is supposed to be a “Rockin’ Español” song, so her punk look would have been so amazing, it sucks that it was scrapped! 😭

However, I do have a few theories why they did, maybe it was time budgets, or maybe they thought all that glamor would be a too big of a distraction, but whatever the reason, I really love this look on her, and I DEFINITELY hope to see something like this on her in the future, maybe in a series or a short, whichever because I DEFINITELY headcanon that she looks like this after the events of the movie. Slay Isa! 😩💕🌸🌺🌵
