🧡Queen of the Skies🧡
✨Queen Pepa and King Félix✨
This is a fantasy AU "Encanto Empire"
Tumblr media
Each Madrigal has their own title.
Pepa - Queen of the Skies
Julieta - Queen of Healing
Bruno - King of Time.
As mentioned, Encanto is an empire, ruled by the Empress, Alma Madrigal.
Each of her children had their own title as King and Queens, and has their own palace.
The Madrigal triplets may have their own palaces, but each are surely connected by structure and magic.
The Empire includes a lot of other  kingdoms from other royal families, who unlike the Madrigals, practice witchcraft.
The Miracle will be the one to choose which among the Madrigal children will inherit the Empress' throne.
It's a complicated AU that has a lot of details and etc.

For the valentines prompts: “see, this is the true meaning of valentine’s day.” “box wine and enough candy to kill a horse?!” “you heard me.” Encanto: Brunos and his sisters being aroace Allies by celebrating happy to be single day with him
Bruno can hear footsteps outside of his hiding place and heaves a deep and long suffering sigh. It was to be expected, after all.
"Alright, alright", he mutters as the door of the closet slowly opens and a beam of light hits his face. He doesn't look up. "Please spare me your disappointed frown, Mama. I wasn't hiding. I was just… looking for something and -"
He is interrupted by what feels like hundreds of small projectiles raining down on top of him. Bruno flinches and holds his arms up to cover his head, but it's more out of surprise than pain. When the attack is over he opens his eyes and sees dozens of small candies wrapped in colorful paper scattered around his crouched form. There are also some chocolates.
When he looks up it's not his mother but his two sisters who are standing in the doorway. Pepa is holding a basket upside down over his head, probably the same basket that had contained all the candy, and regards him with a wide grin. Julieta stands behind her and is holding two bottles of wine, also smiling.
"Make room, loser." Pepa commands and immediately squeezes herself into the closet. Bruno scoots backwards, crushing chocolate and candy beneath his butt on the way. Julieta wedges herself inside on his other side and pulls the door closed behind her. Pepa has a small sun hovering over her head, a clear sign of her good mood. It allows Bruno to stare into their faces and actually see them stare back.
"What do you want?"
"What do you mean, what do we want?" Pepa snarks back.
Julieta giggles and opens one of the bottles of wine. There are no cups, but no matter how well Alma has raised them, they have never really needed cups when it came to alcohol. Prim and proper Julieta takes a large sip right from the bottle before passing it on to her brother.
"We are here to show you the true meaning of Valentine's day."
Bruno winces at the mention of today's date. But where his mother has hounded him with demands to give chocolates to pretty much all the girls in hopes of one of them accepting them (and him), he knows that his sisters understand why he can't and doesn't want to do that.
He takes a mouthful of the wine and absent-mindedly notices that it's his favorite before passing it back to Juli. What did he do to deserve such wonderful sisters?
"So the true meaning is wine and enough candy to kill a horse?"
"I said what I said." Julieta leans around him and nudges Pepa. "Little miss popular got so much candy and chocolate, if she ate it all herself she would explode."
Pepa preens. Bruno picks one of the candies up and throws it into her hair. "So I'm getting your leftovers? Harsh!" He notices a small heart-shaped box that she holds on her lap and tries to snatch it away. Pepa lifts it out of his reach. "What about those?"
"No! Those are not for sharing. Those are mine!"
Julieta swings the bottle in an arch. Bruno has a feeling that it's not the first one she's started today. "Those are from Feeee-liiiiix", she sing-songs in a mocking tone.
Pepa snatches the bottle out of her hand. "Shut it, Juli! Don't think I didn't notice you squirreling away the pot of honey Gus gave you."
Bruno unwraps one of the candies and watches his sisters bicker back and forth. When he puts it into his mouth the taste is very sweet.
The true meaning of Valentine's day, huh? Despite everything, he thinks he can get behind that one.
********
Ahhhh aroace Bruno my beloved! Thanks for this wonderful prompt
I'm accepting prompts until February 14th💕

Another Encanto rant (fandom rant)
Another random Encanto take but I personally never thought Pepa, or even the whole family was villainizing Bruno in “We don’t Talk About Bruno”. A lot of fans seem to say that the whole family sucks because they painted him out as some villain only to go “jk we love you” in the end, and it’s one of those things where I can definitely see where they’re COMING from, but I disagree. So here’s my two cents. First, the only people who painted Bruno out to be some creepy monster was the VILLAGE. The village never understood how his power worked, and they instantly jumped to conclusions. The Madrigals however are his FAMILY. They knew him, and while they know that he’s not some monster, that didn’t mean they couldn’t be upset with him. We know that Alma was upset because she thought that he didn’t care about the family (since he left). As for the song, we know that after Bruno left, they all just stopped talking about him at one point because he was a sensitive topic, NOT that he was some monster. He was just gone, and they didn’t know why. They didn’t know if he was dead, if he left because he hated them, WHY he left, he just LEFT in the family’s eyes. A lot of people seem to forget that, because while we as the audience know why Bruno left and that he deeply cares about his family, the characters in the story DO NOT.
10 years had past, which gave the family time to just get over him and now they don’t talk about him. When Mirabel brings him up in probably the first time in YEARS, everyone is quick to say they don’t talk about him. Pepa tells her that one day on her wedding, he told her it looked like rain and that made the hurricane come. She’s explaining her frustrations towards him, but she’s not VILLAINIZING him guys. She only said “Bruno walks in with a mischievous grin” because it’s clear she thought he was purposely messing with her or she legit thought it was a prophecy, (judging by what he said in the ending, I guess she thought it was a prophecy.) Even if Bruno just said that because he saw her sweating and was trying to lighten the mood, Pepa thought he wasn’t and it was an act of miscommunication, something that happens in families ALL the time. Pepa could resent him for that, for leaving, or maybe she WAS just saying that as an unhealthy coping mechanism to stay mad at him, (which is a popular headcanon the fandom has had) who knows, but I think it’s clear she didn’t see him as a villain. He was just a sensitive topic and she didn’t want to talk about him, just like the rest of the family, and I’m honestly sick of people painting this movie as black and white, (saying how Bruno is just good when the rest of the family sucks) when one of the MAJOR themes to this movie is about complex relationships. While “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” is the introduction to the movie trying to make us think he’s some bad guy, let’s be real guys, the only people who ACTUALLY were villainizing Bruno was the village, Alma, and Camilo, but we all know why Camilo did it, he’s just a goofball performer who heard the village talking about him and he just exaggerated things. So yeah long story short, Pepa and Fèlix were explaining their frustrations, Dolores was explaining how nobody could really understand his prophecies hence she understood him more and could hear him in the walls, Camilo was just being extra, and Isabela was just sharing one of the visions he gave her.
Then I see people say “But the family talked shit about him behind his back and pretended like it was nothing!” So………when it comes to the ending, yes…I’ve seen a lot of people say that the family should have apologized to Bruno, and while I agree, I still have to share how much I dislike how black and white the fandom paints everything to be, ESPECIALLY with the Alma apology scene because dear LORD, but I’m not here to talk about that. It’s clear that MOST of the people who say that just paint Bruno as the good guy and the family as the bad guys, even though the movie CLEARLY shows you that the family still cared about him deep down. This fandom needs to realize that you can still LOVE someone but hate them, or be upset with them at the same time. And yes, Bruno is a good person, we know that, and I’m pretty sure the family knows that, or that he used to be. The whole point when it came to Bruno was that while all the Madrigals were painted as perfect, Bruno was different as his prophecies scared people, not only making him a creepy omen to the village, but it’s implied that his family didn’t understand him well either, especially after he left, but as soon as he came back, they were all just happy to see him, to know that he was alive and well after YEARS of wondering what happened to him. That’s why Alma ran up to hug him, and that’s why his SISTERS ran up to hug him, and even Fèlix and Agustín were happy to see him. The movie showed that while Bruno left and the family stopped talking about him and even tried to make dew without him, they all still missed and cared about him deep down. And listen, I’m not going to act like I think the family shouldn’t have apologized to him as well, and I’m not going to act like the family isn’t flawed. They definitely are, but that’s the POINT. I hate to say it, but it feels like the side of the fandom that goes “Fuck the family they’re all horrible people Bruno is baby and did nothing wrong!!!” completely MISS the point of the movie. It feels like y’all are so used to watching other Disney movies who flat out told you shit and had a simple good vs. evil side so you’re desperate to side with the “good one” and portray all the other characters as heartless monsters when they were anything but heavily flawed. :/
And yeah, the last thing I wanted to touch up upon was the whole apology thing. The answer is yes, I DO think the family should have apologized to Bruno, but for me personally, it’s honestly for different reasons. Everyone wants the family to apologize to him for talking shit behind his back (even though they all had a right to resent him and even not really consider him family after leaving for 10 YEARS GASP unpopular opinion I guess) but I wanted the family to apologize to him just for everything he’s been through, and assure him that things will be better, and that he won’t feel alone. And when you think about it, that’s kinda what we got in the movie. A lot of people seem to overlook the lyrics to “All of You”, because you have Alma who tells him to his face that the miracle isn’t a gift, its HIM, and his sisters who tell him the words “No matter what happens, we’re going to find our way”, which is obviously implying that they’re going to get through this, and no matter what is broken, it’s nothing they can’t fix. The family was all under pressure and while they didnt act the best, they now know that can work to grow and better themselves and their relationships, hence why they had to work together to build Casita brick by brick, which is symbolizing them rebuilding the family. There could have been tears, hardships, make-ups, and apologies for all we know during that time the house was built, but whatever. If you want to say the ending was rushed, fine. If you want to say you found the ending unsatisfying and wanted a little more, fine. If you want to say that you thought the family should have apologized to Bruno, fine, but please STOP painting the family as a bunch of heartless dicks. Encanto certainly has a few flaws in my eyes, or just things that could have been slightly better, and y’all can disagree with me if you want, but I'm just sick of this fandom portraying the family as monsters. :/

--"Replaced Miracle AU"--🐆✨🕯️
An Encanto au where Antonio is now the protagonist without a gift, Mirabel is the outcast who left casita at the age of 15, and after Alma's death, Pepa was the new matriarch, but things didn't go well after that.

my encanto analysis/headcanon that no one asked for
so, i was just looking through some encanto fanart and headcanons and came across this piece (artist: https://mobile.twitter.com/ye_enc):
Tumblr media
abuela had triplets - julieta, pepa, and bruno. both julieta and pepa had three kids - isabella, luisa, and mirabel for julieta, and dolores, camilo, and antonio for pepa.
what i noticed is that for each batch of three, each individual falls under a certain category, and it seems to follow by age.
julieta was, as this lovely fanart shows, likely depended on quite frequently for her ability to heal via her cooking. her gift would have been the most useful and therefore she likely would have been praised the most as “the perfect one”.
this, of course, next falls to isabella, who we see this with the most frequently. abuela very clearly is living the life she wished she could have lived through isabella, and is viewed as the perfect golden child by everyone around her.
dolores is a little different, but i believe she still fits the trope. she is basically the physical embodiment of “seen but not heard.” she keeps quiet on the things she knows would upset her family and doesn’t make herself heard, even when she is in pain, whether physical or emotional. she doesn’t tell anyone that she knows bruno has been living in the walls for the ten years he’s been missing; she doesn’t tell anyone about her feelings for mariano, because she knows that will upset abuela and her cousin’s “perfect for the encanto” arrangement; and one can only imagine how loud certain things are to her, that are endurable for us (fireworks, for example).
next are the middle children: pepa, luisa, and camilo. all of them have some kind of pressure on their shoulders. (and - just a fun thing i noticed - while luisa’s literal pressure is the many things she carries, pepa’s pressure is atmospheric pressure, because she controls the weather. but anyway, lol).
all three of these characters are told in one way or another to bottle up their emotions and keep them buried inside. with pepa, we see this very directly as she is constantly told by the other characters (especially abuela) to, as the fanart above shows, calm down and essentially turn off her emotions because of the damage she can cause with her weather powers. this kind of reminds me of the “conceal, don’t feel” thing that elsa had with her gloves. both pepa and elsa demonstrate the same growth throughout their movies, too - learning to accept themselves and their abilities and thus being able to control them instead of being controlled by them - but, i digress.
luisa, by contrast, is indirectly told to keep her emotions at bay. she is treated as something of a useful tool, both by the town and by abuela, and seen in a very masculine light despite her relatively feminine personality. because of this treatment and the expectation that she will always be strong that comes with it, she falls into the same category as pepa.
camilo, like dolores, is a little different, but still fits. we don’t see much of him in the movie, but i imagine he is depended on as being the funny one. if anyone reading this is into k-pop or bts, think of camilo as like the j-hope or the jin of the group. he’s always expected to be funny and smiling, lifting everyone else’s spirits - but who lifts his spirits?
and lastly, we have the youngest siblings - bruno, mirabel, and antonio. they fit into the roll, of course, of the scapegoat, of family disappointments.
bruno was rejected by the town and by his family, seen as a harbinger of chaos and horror, a bad omen - all because he can see the future, something that he obviously cannot control. but, of course, it’s easier to simply blame someone else than accept the truth or take responsibility for your own actions.
mirabel, of course, is treated in much the same way. she is seen as a bad omen, as well, and is quite literally feared to be the one who will destroy the family and the encanto, because of bruno’s vision.
antonio does not quite fit into this category, but i think if he had not gotten a gift, he would have been shunned in much the same way as bruno or mirabel. it can also be argued that his gift isn’t really very useful, and we can see abuela struggle for a moment to think of how they could put his gift to use at the breakfast at the beginning of the movie (”i told them to warm up your seat”).
anyway - this is all to say that each of the siblings in each of the batches of three appears to fill (or almost fill) the same rolls. i’m sure someone else has already noticed this and i’m just late to the party - but i thought it was cool.

Okay, so people are trying to say that Pepa is short for Josefa. But, I don’t think that’s the case because her door says Pepa.
Tumblr media
But if you want to argue with me go ahead but I think it’s just Pepa and not anything else. (Josefa is a cute name though🙇) 🤷

THE THIEF AND THE PROPHET  CHAPTER 2: 【 THE DEVIL'S HANGED MAN 】
「 The celebrations have begun! It's a joyous time of laughter, reminiscing, and preparation in the days leading up to the wedding of Dolores and Mariano. Well...for everyone else, at least.
Bruno finds himself a little overwhelmed by all the festivities, feeling a lot of pressure to not make accidentally 'ruining weddings' a tradition of his.
It doesn't help that the strange talisman he won in a dice game is attracting a lot of unwanted attention when it's revealed that the jewel merchant is said to be a 'gold thief' who lures people in with stories and 'fools gold' in exchange for real gold.
Meanwhile, the mysterious jewel merchant, Chel, returns home, where she mopes in a bath after finding another gray hair. Thankfully, her sister, Inés, is there to boost her spirits, as are the magical charms of her youngest nephew, Vito.  」 ✨| CHAPTER 3:  A flashback to almost 12 years ago right before Mirabel's ceremony and Bruno's disappearance. Chel returns to The Encanto with her family and has a conversation with a mysterious stranger.
Thank you so much for waiting patiently for this chapter! There's a lot of information leading into the next. Everything has meaning and nothing is a mistake. Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback! HAPPY FRIDAY THE 13th!
