Excerpt from my Candidates and Kings WIP!
Context: The candidates for Scott’s royal elven courtship competition have arrived. Except for the one that Scott had specifically asked to come, not for any political reason, but because the Elvenking wanted him there.
The advisors seemed ready to go inside, knowing that these were all the individuals from their list of candidates that had received invitations from the king. Still, Scott refused to move and insisted that they wait a little longer.
Finally, the carriage that Scott had been waiting for arrived, just a few moments after his insistence that they remain. It wasn’t an especially elaborate carriage, but it held a polished quality that gave away its ownership to a person of status. As it came to a stop, the door to the carriage was opened to reveal Jimmy, who stepped out into view of Scott’s empire, but seemed to ignore them in favor of making eye contact with his fellow king.
“King Scott,” Jimmy greeted, nodding his head in a small bow, respecting that he was in Scott’s kingdom and showing him appropriate regard in the situation. The Codfather was dressed in a Rivendell style, cyan and blue fabrics flowing around him, lined with gold, and a thick, white cloak sat around his shoulders to spare him from the midwinter chill in the air. If the cloak happened to be one of Scott’s that he had once lent the man when he had come to visit in the past, there would be no way for anyone to recognize it from such a distance.
“King Jimmy,” Scott smiled, finding that he could breathe easier, the weight of worry that the cod hybrid would not arrive lifting off his chest.
After a few moments more of eye contact, Scott nodded. Jimmy took that as a signal to make his way over to the five other candidates for betrothal that had arrived before him.
Scott stepped forward to address his people, “Rivendell, these individuals have come forward either through invitation or their own initiative to take part in a traditional royal courting. As such, I ask you, my people, to help me find a future spouse within those who have arrived today.”

the fact that the empires smp has genuinely become a polycule (mostly) is so fucking funny to me. almost every person immediately throws themself at whoever they're talking to. oli orionsound thought sausage was so wise that who knows what would have happened if the egg hadn't started hatching. the relationship chart w sausage in the center. joel having children with everyone he can. this is insane for a group of mostly pg creators
