i feel alienated in regards to “online transfem culture” and i don’t know why. i don’t mean this in a “i can’t relate to this so it’s bad” way, but more so “i don’t really see/understand this as a shared experience” way. i don’t really know how to explain it but it feels as if every subgenre of online transfem communities just isn’t for me.

THE BOOGER PATROL
This is a supervillain group that I got the urge to create roughly a week ago. Based on the Saturday-morning-cartoon, hyper-saturated, slime-soaked monsters of the 80s and 90s, notably Toxic Crusaders and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles--The Booger Patrol live up to their predecessors when it comes to over-the-top, goopy, maniacal, and flamboyant-to-an-annoying-degree degeneracy.
Originally all human, the members of the Booger Patrol have evolved past toxic waste poisoning and fully embraced the mutations brought on from radiation. Coupled with the scientific endeavors of their leader, Doctor Dripz, the team has given themselves meta-human powers and physical invulnerability that makes them a massive nuisance for any vigilante team.

Hello! I found you in the TCOAAL tag, hope it doesn't bother you lol, I just enjoyed reading your opinions on this game.
Since I saw you questioning Andrew in the Decay route, I wanted to offer you my two cents about it, and why Andrew is so snappy at Ashley there: you can enter the Decay route in two ways, if either of the siblings fails to commit to the other and don't break away from their unhealthy coping mechanism.
If Ashley refuses to let Andrew watch over their parents, she is giving in to her own paranoia and mistrust. Her controlling tendencies towards Andrew stem from her fear that he doesn't really love her (because she is fundamentally impossible to love, that's what everyone told her), and if he has a choice he'll always pick the other choice. No matter how much Andrew commits to her, she is always scared - this is what causes the big fight in the room 302. So her solution is to simply cut out the other choice. She let Nina die, she harassed Julia into breaking up with Andrew, and now, she won't let him talk with their parents. This is the same "Leyley orders Andy around" dynamic that Andrew wants to desperately break free of, and the very reason he despises the nickname Andy - which Ashley keeps using in this route to exercise control: "I love you, Andy. I love you, I love you, I love you". If you choose this option, Ashley ruins their relationship further by caving in to her insecurity, the fear that Andrew would lie to her, abandon her for anyone, and that he really gives her nothing (read: not the all-encompassing love she craves, since she's "no pretty lady he can fuck"... also, sidenote, Ashley's obsession with sex and what it says about her selfworth is fascinating). Of course Andrew would be mad that no matter what he does, it's never enough for his sister, and she will always try every dirty trick in the book to keep him under her thumb.
If Ashley trusts Andrew with the parents, but Andrew accepts their offer to leave Ashley behind and live a normal life, Andrew sinks once again into denial. He is a normal person, really! He could live a normal life! But he is stuck with Ashley. It's all Ashley's fault for pushing him around. It's all Ashley's fault for ruining his life. Andrew is her doormat, and nothing more. Like this, Andrew builds up resentment and resentment, choosing to put all the blame on Ashley's shoulders instead of admitting to himself, like he does if he refuses, that he's just as fucked up as Ashley is. Case in point: in the Decay route he's disgusted when chopping up his parents, a normal reaction which makes Ashley smile, while in the Burial route he's completely detatched, which worries Ashley because this isn't the weak Andy she knows and loves.
So it's not that Andrew in the Decay route is OOC, I think. You, player, simply choose to exarcerbate the issues between the two siblings, whose relationship was already strained by that point, mostly by Ashley still calling Andrew "Andy" which symbolizes her not wanting to move on from the relationship they had as children. The Burial route allows them to say "fuck it, it's us against the world" in their own way: Ashley by accepting that she can slightly let go the leash she put on Andrew because he's her ally, and Andrew by stopping pretending he's just a victim of circumstances.

I had my concerns about the route splitting, but I am curious to see how the different routes ultimately play out. Especially because, to be honest, I don't know what the best path forward for these two is.
The part of me that is playing as them, empathizing, thinks they should just embrace their degeneracy and enjoy burning in Hell together - a la Burial - and the part of me that is watching and judging thinks they deserve to drag each other to the grave for all the awful sins they have committed - a la Decay.
Sans the "less incestous" Burial route. That one seems passable.

TW: Discussion of sexual assault, rape, racism, xenophobia, and antisemitism
I'm really relieved that everyone realizes that the scene of Dracula assaulting Mina today is supposed to be horrifying and a metaphorical rape, and that no, it's NOT Dracula liberating Mina from Victorian repression and teaching her to embrace her sexuality like a modern woman while Jonathan oppresses her, or Mina consensually being into rough vampire sex. However, it's also important to remember how while much of the horror of the scene is rooted in the sexual assault overtones, a lot of the horror to white Christian Victorian audiences - and honestly, undoubtedly even today bc bigotry never ended - is sexual assault and rape in the context of racism, antisemitism, and xenophobia.
Once again, we have Dracula - the dark foreigner described as being like a savage beast, demonic, with an 'aquiline nose' (previously 'hooked' and 'beaky'), repulsed by Christianity - breaking into the bedroom of a good, honest white Christian Englishwoman as she lies with her good, honest white Christian husband, assaulting her in her marital bed as she sleeps, and in addition to the rape metaphor, literally drinking her blood, and even worse, forcing her to drink HIS blood.
The image of horror absolutely would have been rooted in British racist, antisemitic, and xenophobic fears of how the British Empire was in danger of being invaded by savage foreigners from the East, especially Jewish people drinking Christian blood who can easily hide in British society (Dracula learning to be English, while funny to us, is that antisemitic trope, and would be scary to contemporaries; this is also something antisemites still believe), and these invaders would not only bring degeneracy (this is why it's important to be aware that Dracula's homoeroticism towards Jonathan is a homophobic gay predator trope linked to antisemitism) to the British Empire, but steal, rape, and corrupt the good Christian Englishwomen of the British Empire, or at least the middle- and upper-class white women who would have been the 'angel of the house' types.
And sadly, this is not even an outdated idea! Think about how this idea persists even today, especially in more conservative circles, and particularly in discussions on policing and immigration, or how in the West, the popular image of a rapist and their victim is a stranger (usually either a Black or Middle-Eastern man, depending on where in the West) sexually assaulting an affluent white woman in the streets or during a home invasion, and this is why you should fear every foreign and non-white man bc they're all rapists waiting to defile the ideal of Western womanhood, when the reality is that most sexual assault and rape is done by someone the survivor knows, and being less privileged in terms of race, financial status, being LGBT+, etc. makes you even more vulnerable to assault, and likely to be forgotten or erased when it happens.

the way we conceptualize time definitely influences our politics. human beings have the tendency to tell themselves stories about time, and how they fit within history. especially in the “western” world, people do not understand the past complexly. usually the past is understood to be monolithic in nature. this simplistic past is used to tell a story that informs our perspectives.
conservatives typically understand this monolithic past idyllically; the past contained a society that was pure and good. usually this understanding of the past is not tied to any particular year, rather a quasi-mythological era of “goodness.” conservatives see themselves as fighting against any (further) degeneracy. in order for goodness to persevere, any change that goes against the values of this supposed mythological past must be resisted against. change is embraced if it is seen to be “restoring” what has been lost to time.
progressives usually also conglomerate the past into one idea. the past is understood to be unequivocally “undeveloped” and therefore bad. progressives usually subscribe to the idea of the “line of progress.” humanity as a whole has improved; the present time is better than the past. our material and social conditions have universally improved for everyone. more optimistic progressives see the future as being inevitably “better” and “more developed” than the present.
now this isn’t universal. some conservatives definitely adhere to the “line of progress” and some progressives subscribe to the idea of the ideal mythic past. what is shared amongst these two groups is that the past is contained into something uniform and unvarying. this understanding does not see past as complex as it was.
i challenge you to see the past as neither “good” nor “bad.” the past contained billions of perspectives, people, ideas, things, laws, and movements. the material conditions of the past informed how people navigated the world. the relationship people had with their present environment generated how technology was produced and distributed. people in the past were intellectually as capable as you and me. they were also just as flawed as us. they were just as human as us.
we must accept that the human history cannot be contained into one narrative nor can it be fully comprehended. it is okay to accept that we will never understand the past in its entirety, and it is okay to admit that our perspective of the past is limited. in many ways the past is just as infinite as the present or the future.

It was a busy day at Chaldea but you would like nothing more than to hole yourself up in your own room and relax. Fortunately, everyone seemed to allow that- except for one.

You see, when you meant hole yourself up, you really did mean you were going to stay in as much as possible. One might even mistaken such NEET behavior is equivalent to Ganesha or Osakabehime. The lights were off, you had your blankets and pillows piled up in the bed like a little tent with your laptop inside providing a faint light. There was no way of knowing his presence since you had your headphones on. Either way, it wasn't going to stop Vortigern from being an invasive species. Out of the corner of your eye, you see one.. two... wait- three? FOUR!?!? All these extra hands slowly crawling in until revealing a mildly disheveled Oberon wearing a black hoodie and sweats. "H-HEY!? Wait- when- am I dreaming again?" You couldn't truly wrap your head around it but now you're sharing your little tent space with the one of few servants capable of wiping your home if they ever desired to do so. He pinches your cheek with one hand before his other ones slowly position you two better- next thing you know you're sitting in-between his legs while he lays his head on your shoulder as you two watched your laptop.
The silence was comforting but the one thing that ate you away in your thoughts was... were all servants capable of this?... I mean, spirit origin is based off of interpretation as well as determination for a few servants like Beserker Jack the Ripper but- "Hey, (Y/N), you're thinking again." Oberon flicks your forehead. He nuzzles into your neck, making the sensation ticklish as his hair flurries against your skin before his grip on you relaxes once more. "Mmm... I guess I'll grant you an answer.... I just can." That answers nothing- you thought. Either way, you ultimately dropped the subject.
During that time, occasionally he'd leave and come back with snacks and packed meals from the cafeteria, effortlessly making your room look more and more a mess as you both dwindle the hours away together.

I for one am really glad Larian just kinda ignored the “becoming a vampire makes you lose your soul” lore because I hate it. I get why it exists, and vampires aren’t meant to be playable in dnd so making them evil aligned monsters makes sense for this kind of tabletop game where they’re meant to be enemies for the players. It’s very dnd and I get that.
I still hate it…vampires are most fun for me when they’re tormented by the monster they’ve become, expelled from society to lurk in the shadows and struggling to control the hungry beast inside them. Or, giving in to their degeneracy and making the choice to embrace the horror they’ve become. Vampires were people once! It’s interesting drama! Just taking away their soul and making them instaevil without a shred of conflict is so boring for the character and the story being told imo.

Preface: I have seen the new Game Changer episode in its entirety, I enjoyed it, I understand the context, I think Brennan Lee Mulligan is a funny person with politics I can get behind, I'm not attributing malice here —
That said: I'm seeing posts go around about his final monologue in the episode, and I wish he hadn't said that line about "the sickness at the core of America," because of its resemblance to reactionary sentiments.
Improvising a speech means relying on drama and not having the chance to think through your words as carefully, and I don't think Brennan would genuinely support the implications of the phrase that I'm pointing towards. But since we're all laughing at the phrase, I think it's worth noting that claims about "degeneracy" and the "decline of society" have a history of connection with theories of eugenics, and often go hand in hand with the "reject modernity, embrace tradition" claims of trad types / white supremacists (warning: the second link leads to the webpage of an example of such a group).
"The sickness at the core of America is that no one wants to work anymore, they reward laziness, they don't want you performing at your peak," this is all funny coming from Mr. Tryhard ranting at his friends, but maybe not the kind of rhetoric we need to be echoing.

I'm sure a similar list has already been compiled but I'm procrastinating and want to waste my time listing off the various observations where I've seen fanpol pull a religious conservatoid move.
They both ignore scientific and psychological evidence. With conservatoids it's the APA, medical community, science in general...With fanpol it's the APA, the medical community, and science in general. They often come armed with biased sources and consider scientific papers as "Woke" science / whatever the fanpol equivalent is.
If you sin in your thoughts you sin in real life. If you read something taboo that means you want to or you're going to commit a felony.
"This media will invite demons into your life!" / "This media will make you want to commit [insert crime here]!"
It's fine to expose kids to ultraviolence but god forbid you show them anything remotely sexual (am I the only one who remembers the wide berth of dark and/or sexual jokes in kids programming...? It was a game to see what creators to get through the censors).
It's fine to ENJOY ultraviolence but as soon as it becomes remotely sexual to you or turns you on that must mean you want to commit violent sexual assault.
'Deviant' sex / kinky-in-the-wrong-way sex is bad terrible wrong and people who have 'deviant' or kinky-in-th-wrong-way sex is also bad terrible wrong. (In some cases, all kink is wrong.)
Alternatively, it's fine to sexualize violence / partake in kinky sex, but YOU and YOUR GROUP are the sole persons who are capable of doing it without making it 'weird' or 'creepy' ...somehow.
They love to call people who are not those things pedos and/or groomers as a way to try shutting them down. They either do not realize or embrace how this is a literal 1940s-era Nazi tactic against Queerfolk / 'degeneracy'.
General Authoritarian behavior.
Projection. They smear the outgroup as harboring groomers/pedos. Meanwhile, they protect or ignore (or put on a pedestal) the actual predators within their own groups. They ignore how their structures foster such dynamics. "I'm a safe adult, look how I attack taboo fiction, you can trust me. :)" "I'm a priest, I talk to Our Holy Father, you can trust me. :)" (Granted, "fandom moms" - specifically those who call them such to obfuscate their true nature as predators - aren't just a fanti thing. I'm aware.)
