Question time #3 Elena Boils

1. describe your style? I'd say its colouful, bold, detailed.  2. who / what is your biggest influence?  Theatre design, old illustrations, medieval bestiaries especially. Keith Haring.  3. where's your favourite place on earth and where would you most want to go? I really want to go to Japan, I think it could be my favourite place on earth. Right now its my bed. 4. what music inspires you? Schubert, I always work my best when I listen to his piano sonatas.  5. what was you biggest life changing moment? I'm not sure, there have been many. Most recent, I think was leaving University, that was pretty big. But probably not as big as when I stopped making Lego towers everyday. 6. what is your favourite piece of work?  Creation myth, I loved making this project. It has all the elements that interest me. 7. what are you working on atm? I haven't been creating much recently due to Masters research. I have started a project of invented museums, the first of which is the museum of windows. 8. what is your favourite design blog? Brain pickings, is one of them. Good magazine blog is another great one. 9. describe david attenborough in one word. superb 10. favourite book? I don't think I can name one, I'm reading Light in August by Faulkner and its great. Hopscotch by Julio Cortazar is one that springs to mind as a must read. I can't answer this question properly. 11.  we're huge fans of jokes……. give us your best joke. Why does Snoop Dog have an umbrella? ...........for drizzle. 12. what makes you a star? star dust (see; Wonders of the Universe) 13. what do you wish for? That I have money on my oyster card when I'm getting on night buses. 14. what topic are you an expert on? I'm a decent connoisseur of Tesco's cheapest wines. I also am very interested in medical illustration, but I am no expert. 15. what do you see when you look in the mirror? Me, and the rest. 16. one thing you never do? go to the cinema, its been to long.
