*opens fb to check on hurricane’d friends* *sees video posted by my friend’s manager at her restaurant downtown* *there’s flowing water down the street due to storm surge* *camera pans out* There’s a canoe floating by. Two people paddling along the street like it’s a totally normal day. One waves to the camera. Everything seems positive.

You know. I miss FL energy sometimes. Those are some powerful people right there.

#taks speaks #in all seriousness tho don't be them there could be more storm winds #and hell. there was a shark found in the floodwater further south #the downtown area is super used to flooding tho #its right on the water and the fort there has been around since like 1602 #the coquina really helps #it floods every time there's a hurricane over cat 1 sooo #sometimes i wonder if i can find that video my partner of sorts sent me during irma #they were out by the fort in the water.#i prob can. but it was pre hrt. and im not posting.#still a fun one to look back on #really tho FL people are some tough people.#like these people are canoeing while my sisters school is freaking out and closing when its just going to be rainy tomorrow #like. it's not even a tropical storm once it gets here. its just RAIN #that's like a normal late fall day. right?#i may have spent too much of my life in FL to be well adjusted to this shit #eh at least we're not in charlston #they're getting the brunt of the return of ian #theres too much land between here and there for it to be a worry tbh
