Suzanne Larson, Left Coast Cellars Brand Ambassador and Co-Founder, reporting via Zoom from the 6th Annual Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Auction to a room full of Vintage Vino patrons in Kissimmee, Florida tasting five of the wonderful wines from the Left Coast Cellars lineup. The tasting lineup included: Cali’s Cuvée Pinot Noir (2017), Latitude 45 Pinot Noir (2017), plus The Orchards Pinot Gris, Truffle Hill Chardonnay, and the uniquely delicious White Pinot Noir, all last three from the 2019 vintage. John Siudut, proprietor of Vintage Vino, mentioned after the delightful tasting event: “all the wines tasted tonight with Suzanne Larson will be available for purchase at the shop.” Speaking about the 2019 vintage, Suzanne mentioned that “because of the cooler climate in the Willamette Valley in 2019, the 92 lots of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay featured at the auction are described as more ‘classic Oregon.’ The pinot noirs are fresh and elegant with high acidity and notes of red cherry, cranberry, earth and black tea. They are reminiscent of earlier Oregon vintages from the 1970s and 80s, and show more of an old world Burgundian style.” According to Joe Wright, Director of Winemaking and Viticulture at Left Coast Estate, the 2019 vintage was “relatively mild and cool throughout August then the weather dynamics changed to cold and rainy in September.
