He meets Venom (the alien goo parasite that inhabits his body) in a church. Eddie is depressed and about to end his life and just before he does it goes to church and prays to God to forgive him because suicide is… y’know, a sin. Anyway Venom possesses him and saves his life and they have a crazy relationship/love story and the stained glass window in that church becomes important symbolism for them <3 He is the most catholic man ever
Admittedly, most of Eddie's insanity has little to do with Catholicism, he's just a deranged weirdo (affectionate) but he was suicidal once and went to a church to ask forgiveness before killing himself. That's where he met the symbiote and their relationship has parallels to both marriage and religion.
Listen listen he is the epitome of Catholic trauma. He’s got the angst. The repression. The je ne sais quoi. His whole story is basically very dependant on churches if that makes any sense. Like he tried to kill himself in a church and that’s when he bonded with the symbiote. They stopped a symbiote invasion by fu̶c̶k̶i̶n̶g̶ crying out in agony in a church. EDDIE AND VENOM GOT MARRIED IN CANON IN THE CHURCH WHERE THEY MET. He also has so many breakdowns in churches and we love that for him.
He meets Venom in a church and has a lot of religious moments connected to Venom. They also sort of get married in the church they met at? It's gay. Eddie is catholic and in a committed relationship with an alien and it's gay.
(Cw suicide mention) He's canonically Catholic and has such a funky (read: kinda fucked up) relationship with it. When his life fell apart he went to a church to pray for forgiveness for the sin of committing suicide and to ask God to kill spiderman i think but then before he could actually do anything an alien came down and connected with him (in a gay way) and he was like "are you an angel". Also his sense of morality is totally fucked, its like "if you've done something bad once you deserve to die" and I like to think that's related to the specific brand of Catholicism

It wasn’t typical for the man and his symbiote to be sitting in front of a painting in a European country all alone aside from a few guards and curators who would walk around every now and again, prompting V to once more seek refuge in his host.
But these days, all they had was time.
Time to think.
To read.
To watch television.
Venom looks at the painting in front of him intently, Eddie trying to read what alien eyes held.
“Watcha thinking about there, buddy?”
“Do you think I’m beautiful, Eddie?”
Had Eddie Brock been drinking something it would’ve spewed all over the painting in front of them. Beautiful? What the hell kind of question was that? He’s sentient goo, I mean, what answer could he give him?
Eddie studies V’s face and feels a smile creep up on the corners of his mouth. He thinks about V reaching out tendrils to hold him when Eddie suffered nightmares. He thinks about V telling him on a beach that he loves him. He thinks back to when they first had spaghetti and V wanted to do a “Lady and the Tramp” moment. He remembers V shyly giving him a bouquet of flowers he stole from a man in a Porsche without Eddie noticing. Beautiful? Yeah.
Although Eddie Brock was a prime reporter he was not a poet. And V deserved poetry right now, so, he borrowed.
“If I saw you every day forever, V, I would remember this time.”
The symbiote looks over at him, and Eddie can read the lines between his eyes — non amused.
“You are quoting the gay cannibal show at me, Eddie.”
Eddie clears his throat and looks at the painting. “Well, yeah, but it’s true.”
“I am beautiful?”
Eddie looks over at him and shakes his head fondly. “Gorgeous.”
V smiles and reaches out his tongue to lick at Eddie’s lips slightly. “I know.”

stranger things 4 is garbage, and here’s why: a not-mad, just-disappointed meta about theme
s4 was about making the theme of trauma in stranger things literal. this was a very smart move and it was being executed reasonably well for most of the season! unfortunately, it crashed and burned in the last act.
this is so fucking long, my apologies
trauma and trauma responses are consistently present throughout the season’s major beats. max was torn up about seeing her stepbrother die and her own ambivalent response in that moment and afterward. el is bullied mercilessly until she lashes out violently and it resurfaces her suppressed memory of a massacre she feels responsible for. she previously lost her powers but suddenly her abusive dad is back and offering to torture her again to get them back. hopper’s using his siberian vacation to spiral about how he curses the people he loves. joyce is still hyper-vigilant and on edge from everything that had happened to will, seeing bob die, seeing hopper die; she packed up and ran away from hawkins! i could see an interpretation of will’s (incredibly scant, yet again!!) arc as self-flagellation for the crime of being gay and in love with mike, which is to say trauma from being closeted in addition to all his upside down trauma.
and of course, vecna’s whole deal is that he tortures you with the worst things you’ve ever experienced until you die so horribly it traumatizes other people.
like max, eddie sees someone die horribly in front of him and he’s wracked with guilt about how he reacted in the moment. jason and the jocks were pissed and completely in denial that chrissy could have ever been with eddie willingly, but it wasn’t until jason saw patrick die the same way that he’s actively looking to kill eddie and whipping up violence against anyone connected with him. this could even be tied back to billy, since people want to ride that guy’s dick so bad. billy’s traumatized by the loss of his mother, his dad is abusive to him, and he sees and experiences horrible things while possessed by the mindflayer, who we now learn is an extension? symbiote? flunky? of vecna.
this theme of trauma is so clearly and competently developed that it really puzzles me how the duffers ended up ~resolving it. what are they saying about trauma?
let me start by saying that i expected something about trauma perpetuating itself, abuse victims becoming abusers when they don’t work through their trauma. again, going back to billy, this reveal of vecna reinforces that his abusive behavior might be explained by his unresolved trauma, but it doesn’t excuse it. instead of him getting half-assed redemption from the one time he wouldn’t stand back while a kid was killed in front of him, the parallels written between henry and el would reinforce that billy was still responsible for his visiting his own pain on other people instead of confronting nor dealing with his trauma. (max even offered him help, and he rejected it! but that’s a different rant) this is similar to what i’ve seen other people say about how they  interpreted the mechanics of vecna’s curse. when max is playing bait but vecna isn’t taking it, it seems like it SHOULD be because she’s finally expressed her feelings to billy at his graveside and told her friends why she’s isolating herself. vecna literally traps his victims in their own heads with the worst secrets they haven’t told anybody else (chrissy’s abusive mother and eating disorder, fred’s hit and run, patrick’s...something or other), but now max’s trauma is exposed. i think it does make sense that vecna could still be goaded into attacking her using the exposed trauma the way he ends up doing: impersonating lucas to tell max that her friends don’t really accept her and secretly think she deserves to die like she had secretly believed about billy. but the huge hurdle of admitting that something is wrong and asking for help seems like it should weaken vecna’s power.
i wonder if this was how the curse is supposed to work. the school counselor practically says verbatim that there are people who will help if Max asks, that saying what is wrong will help her come to terms with her trauma! even the plan of hiding from vecna in good memories seems like a plausible visualization of the concept.
the problem is that vecna himself upends this theory of trauma.
again, what I expected was that when the party learned that the victor creel murders happened so long ago and with such a long gap between killings was that the son somehow acquired the power of whatever had killed his family and was inflicting it on other kids like it had been inflicted on him first. this could have been a strong parallel with eleven. what if the things that vecna says he learned lurked behind his parents’ front of normalcy was not war trauma and ...uh, something?? what do moms do? Something! anyway - what if the dark secret was something that actually involved henry? just for instance, what if henry was abusing his little sister and his parents were ignoring/covering it up? or henry himself was being abused and didn’t have anyone to turn to for help? or if they came to hawkins because another child died in their previous home, whether from neglect or some mistreatment either from henry or his parents?  yada yada yada, and then henry gets whisked away by papa.
papa is not interested in curing trauma. whether or not henry killed his family (i think it would be most interesting if this was left ambiguous, or if it is clear he did it, ambiguous if he did it involuntarily), papa is convinced he did. and by some weird combination of 1980s drug experiments and living on a hellmouth, henry does gain (regain?) that power. but now he’s internalized the idea that he was at fault for what happened to his family. maybe he’s convinced himself that he did it on purpose because his parents deserved it for what they did to him/allowed him to do to other people. that’s why all his victims see visions of the clock from his house and max and nancy end up in his house - it’s why vecna still lives in the upside down version of his house. he’s literally stuck there because that’s the site of his trauma! but he’s convinced himself of papa’s narrative that it isn’t where he was traumatized, it’s where he gained POWER. papa has really made an impression on henry, but henry’s rationalizations have made him a megalomaniac, and there’s only room for one megalomaniac in papa’s underground child farm. the whole thing with papa trying to neuter henry, making him actively participate in the abuse of other kids, and then henry manipulating el into releasing him/feeling responsible for things henry did still works as a way of showing how henry becoming the same kind of abuser as papa because he never dealt with the trauma papa inflicted on him. (wish that it was more obvious that she only helped him because of his manipulation, not because she’s just a born-good person like he’s a born-bad person, since that would preserve the arc of s1 and mike’s value as the “heart” of the party better plus serve the s4 theme better, by it’s fine)
at the end, when el tells henry he can still stop hurting people, he can still be saved even after everything, that’s the offer of help that max kept getting from her friends and the counselor and finally accepted that she was worthy of receiving. that should be the cap on this season! with the support of her friends, el (sort of) worked through her trauma from papa enough to see him as a monster who hurt her instead of a benevolent jailer, and now she is doing her best to offer friendship to henry to work through his. (oops, the max/billy thing IS this rant after all!) s4 should have ended on this poignant offer of healing and the tragedy of henry rejecting it.
but that’s not the way it actually goes.
we do get the classic downbeat, empire strikes back ending for the season, which i respect.
(side salad: i do think they should have gone whole hog with tragic death and killed steve as they seemingly were winding up to do. doesn’t that make sense, narratively? he’s the most well-adjusted member of the party! head empty, no dark secrets, all his worst behavior has been made public and atoned for! he’s been consistently supportive and protective from the end of s1 even when tommy and billy were goading him into returning to his old ways. he’s also fully integrated into the dynamics of both the older and younger halves of the party. if vecna was going to target any single person as the key to breaking the party’s spirit, wouldn’t it be steve? his death would cut robin out almost immediately; nancy would feel even more guilty for all her wavering over wanting to get back together with him after watching him die and feeling responsible for getting him into it like she did unwittingly to barb; dustin would be devastated his big brother is dead and they hadn’t been as close recently; eddie would feel like it should have been him for the crime of running away at first [unlike steve when he first encountered the upside down!!]; el would feel guilty for not being there for him as well as for max; mike would lash out from being defensive that it isn’t her fault; lucas and later max would feel survivor’s guilt for being glad it wasn’t max; and will and jonathan would keep drifting away and feeling like they aren’t allowed to try to hold on tighter since their trauma is supposedly over. joe could come back for the final season as an avatar of vecna to torture them all until they finally come back together as a party and remember that steve wasn’t like that AT ALL. but i digress)
anyway, the season ends on the downbeat of hawkins literally cracked open, the upside down infecting what’s left, vecna undefeated, and henry’s continued cruelty of insisting that el is at fault for making him into vecna and giving him the power of the upside down. that ending is completely in line with the show’s overall arc and the way i personally think that the theme of trauma should have gone. if i was writing stranger things, nearly all the major beats could stay exactly the same.
the one beat that i would absolutely change is that vecna isn’t actually traumatized according to the way the season is written. his motives are totally divorced from the backstory we see in el’s flashbacks of the lab. el tells henry that papa is dead because she assumes he’s acting out of unresolved trauma, and vecna specifically refutes this interpretation! he’s sort of indifferent to papa’s actions except for the fact that he prevented henry from doing whatever he wants. he resents papa’s power, not papa himself. he’s much more resentful of eleven for not going along with him or believing henry’s interpretation of his  actions - that is, he’s pissed because the victim of his abuse is fighting back. vecna’s motive is that he’s a born monster who on purpose killed his family when he was like twelve because...they weren’t actually perfect? thank god this takes place before the invention of instagram. what horrible crime of pretend normalcy did his ten-year-old sister commit? irrelevant, I guess. henry is sensitive AND he likes spiders! classic supervillain shit there. he kills traumatized teenagers in particular because...well, he’s a supervillain. doesn’t like seem like something a supervillain would do?
unfortunately, this casts papa’s actions as reasonable and even noble because henry (since apparently he was born evil and with superpowers) presumably WOULD have been killing people the whole time without papa’s intervention. this makes el’s repudiation of papa as a monster narratively wobbly, because he did do that good thing, and he did force her powers to manifest again, and she absolutely needs them now. the bizarre way his death scene plays out like we’re supposed to care a horrible man dies seems to show the writers’ ambivalence about papa’s ultimate morality. plus, if henry’s actions don’t stem from trauma, then vecna isn’t an embodiment of repressed trauma. his curse uses a victim’s trauma against them, but only because vecna himself is plain evil. he killed his family and framed his father because he hated them, period. the way he reveals this to nancy reinforces this, since she is looking for what happened to the creels in the hope that it will help them with the riddle of how to defeat vecna and the answer is he just killed them and he liked it (and spiders!) and knowing that is totally useless to nancy. it’s a slap in the face that hits at nancy’s insecurrities of being as silly and useless as some people think she is and her actions endangering other people. every reveal of information about vecna makes him less and less relevent to the theme of trauma that is otherwise ever-present in s4. vecna killed chrissy, fred, and patrick and tries to kill max because he thinks he should act like a spider (he super loves those leggy boys!!) and kill the most vulnerable prey, but he only does that because he needs to open gates to go back to the real world to...kill everyone. because of...order? something like that. insert supervillain monologue here.
one of the reasons s1 of stranger things worked so well was that there were three different groups of people working with three different understandings of what was going on, and winning the final battle depended on those groups communicating with each other and working together. so successful in fact that this is the structure of every season of the show! each fragment of the party is in the dark, unable or unwilling to ask for help from the others, struggling in vain until they all come together and and coordinate their individual efforts to support each other. s4 should have been the season where the external threat also expressed an internal threat to this power, setting up s5 for a final triumph of the power of friendship. and i think the duffers intended to do that. vecna being the ultimate big bad and feeding all the while off the trauma he had inflicted via intermediaries in the previous seasons, while himself being the product of the same lab as eleven, that all works! and maybe they’re going to roll back on vecna’s supervillain monologues in s5 by saying he was lying in s4 and make him more plausible as a person, but that would be incredibly cheap and also prevent the constant escalation of threat in terms of literal size that television writers seem to think viewers require.
for my money, the externalization of the threat to party unity as just one extra-evil guy (who’s always been evil and in fact made the upside down evil with how evil he naturally was!) completely undercuts the trauma theme i think the duffers were going for. as it is, i think the most probable version of s5 doesn’t involve catharsis and healing for most characters, let alone DEPEND on it. maybe we finally get a reveal of what’s really going on to the wheeler parents, the sinclairs, and dustin’s mom and the implication of parental support before the final battle? i think will will get to come out at last but i doubt that they’re going in a healing in queer solidarity direction considering that he and robin never interact!!
the inevitable working-separtely-before-coming-together-to-defeat-the-big-bad shape of s5 could really sing if it was going to resolve the trauma arcs that s4 set out. if s4 had fulfilled its promise the season of trauma and trauma responses, s5 would be about breaking the cycle and healing. the big bad is the embodiment of the dark thoughts and secrets that make you feel alone and desperate and like you deserve to be punished by some evil guy with no nose!! the party members have be there for each other emotionally as well as literally to win the fight. i think we can see the seeds of this already planted in the imperfect end of s4. el’s power is HERS, and she doesn’t owe papa or henry anything or have responsiblity for anything they did. the possibility of healing max would never have occurred to either of them, but el has benefitted from her friends and an actually good dad, and that environment has opened up a new horizon of abilities she never knew she had. dustin takes eddie’s uncle’s grief seriously, but dustin’s grief should be recognized by the party instead of some near-rando - nancy’s grief over barb and joyce’s over bob, too!
and THAT’s the narrative circumstance in which will being held in the closet against our will for three seasons is narratively justified as ongoing truama reaction, but now will comes out because he’s brave and risks himself, and the acceptance and love he gets in return for his vulnerability CASTS PROTECTION over the whole party, bringing the whole fucking thing full circle ‼️‼️‼️
and another thing! fred could have been used way more effectively to really put the screw to nancy. instead of bizarrely hitting on her, fred should have been clearly looking for help, maybe even trying to confess what he did to nancy in some sideways manner like aggressively pushing for an investigation of the crash he caused, but nancy bushes him off either because she assumes he is weirdly hitting on her or because she’s focused on her own ambitions or because she’s distracted by her drama with jonathan, and THEN she realizes once he’s died that she COULD HAVE SAVED HIM if she had just paid attention to other people’s shit!! and that girl’s not telling anyone about her failings EVER and she’s hypercompetent with all her guns so nobody suspects, and then surprise! she’s a super juicy target for vecna. of fucking course nancy isn’t going to tell anybody that either, maybe we don’t see it either except for clues like a bloody nose (could have been from running into something) and taking advil (she hit her head after all) and then the truth comes out at the worst moment!! hire me netflix

I love the arc Venom Beyond despite its flaws, and I have a series of hcs that make it even better:
Alternate Anne and her symbiote are a bisexual wlw power couple. They’re every inch as gay as Eddie and the symbiote are in the regular timeline. The symbiote is still genderless, of course, but because it’s bonded long term to Anne, they are usually more seen as a “her” while their canon counterpart is more seen as “him”
Alternate Dylan is 100% Anne’s and the symbiote’s child since there’s no way Eddie could have been a part of it, being dead and all. Possibly Anne said or implied that Eddie was his father to avoid judgement from other people and stuff. Maybe she even lied to Dylan himself. She was just afraid of what her half-alien baby’s life would be like if everyone knew.
Since he has no human father, alternate Dylan is trans. That’s just basic biology.
Fuck what the Carnage book said, that thing is full of AUs anyway, the only truth is that everyone is okay and nothing went wrong and Anne is reconnecting with fully recovered, reformed Dylan
(Knull eventually invaded and Anne and Dylan and the team fought him together and Anne was going to be the one to give the final blow and become the new King Queen but Dylan stopped her and did it himself because 1- he had some personal shit to settle with Knull 2- he didn’t want his mother to take this burden after everything she went through) (I am under the impression that alternate Dylan is older than canon Dylan and is not a child, but if they’re supposed to be the same age I will review this point)
Reformed!Dylan and Andi are besties
Apparently it was supposed to be implied that canon!Eddie and alternate!Anne were romantically involved during the months he stayed there but I call bullshit. Like, they seem to have had an emotional reaction to seeing the face of their dead darling but also to be very aware that this alternate version of them is not the one that they loved and lost. I don’t think they would just go and get together as if they were. Anne did accept to play mother to canon!Dylan for his sake, even if it hurt sometimes. She and Eddie became good friends.
I don’t remember if this is addressed but alternate!Anne was already divorced from her Eddie, and if he hadn’t died, she would still probably not have gone back to him unless he worked on the issues that ended their marriage in first place. Eddie’s suicide still hit her hard because just like canon!Anne, she still cared for him, and learning that he probably suffered from issues that dated since before their (recent) divorce made it “her problem”. She feels guilty she wasn’t able to help him while they were still together, and for not noticing that the moment she divorced him was when he needed someone there for him the most. Not that the suicide was her fault, in anyway, but in her mind, specially at the beginning, she blames herself which is why she goes to the “blame Spidey” route. She eventually worked these issues, the symbiote helped.
President Thompson had messed with symbiotes before and so manages to come back to life during the fight against Knull. His involvement with symbiotes was a secret so he can’t return to his old life and instead stays with his most trusted friends, Anne and the team. He got his own symbiote back too, so after the thing with Knull is over they are just the beautiful symbiote/human found family we all deserve. Yep, even Cletus is in it. Because, I repeat again, that Carnage book was fake and he is truly a good person. Maybe not nice, but good.

Saw Spiderman - no way home:: My review with some spoilers!! I will be tagging for them.::::
I liked it! Over all rating? Hmmm, maybe like 7.7 or 8 out of 10.
Most of the movie was great! All of the parts with the older guys were better than any of the parts with the newer guys. Like, sorry Doctor Strange but Doc Ock has like 5 million times more charisma than you and Green Goblin is infinitely more interesting. I could watch them for hours.
All else going under a read more for spoilers 😒
There was some SHITTY writing in the film, though. I will be the first to say. The death scene and all of the dialogue right before it felt ham fisted and shoved in because "we needed it" I physically rolled my eyes and I am not joking.
The beginning was painfully slow and not funny at all. I wanted it to be over after like 30 seconds. As soon as we got to the point where old characters started showing up, the movie picked up the pace.
I missed Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire so much. I loved seeing them in the movie. They're such different Spidermen, but they're both so great. I wanted to give them both a hug. The banter between them was nice and felt like how my brother and I talk to each other. Felt like siblings. Andrew is best boy. Deserves so much love.
We didn't appreciate Andrew when he was Spidey, but everyone loves him now. Maybe they'll finally give him his third movie to give people closure. (And also let him be bi)
The fucking... the "great responsibility" quote was done SO BADLY in this movie. Oh my god it was fucking terrible 😭. It was so obvious they shoved that in there just for the sake of having that quote. Jesus Fuck. You should have had Tobey be the one to say that to Tom, you fucking idiots. Even I am smart enough to know that would have been better. He would have been passing on the Spiser wisdom. Stupid.
Eddie and Venom were so underutilized, but at the same time thank FUCK they were villains in this. Tom Hardy's Eddie would not beat the shit out of a teenager. He just wouldn't.
Leaving the little bit of the symbiote behind? Garbage. Trash can writing. Stupid as shit and absolutely fucking horrible. - Tom Hardy backed them into a corner, though, and they had almost no other options to do the black suit Spiderman that wouldn't involve making an entire other movie. His Venom just would not abandon Eddie for some random kid. He just wouldn't. Tom fucked them by making Eddie and Venom happy and in love. ... still dogshit writing, though. I will complain about that. (I do appreciate that Venom's first thought when drunk is to get Eddie naked. Gay little slime. )
The only part of the movie that made me cry was Peter saying goodbye to Ned. That was it. Not the death, not him saying goodbye to MJ. No. Ned is what got me.

venom spoilers below if anyone else is from a poor ass eastern european country like me
GOD I LOVED THAT MOVIE SO MUCH I was either laughing or grinning the entire time (maybe apart from that one scene when venom said “I wish Eddie was here to see me” which made me go :(((( a lil’)
like, I couldn’t believe that all these “vague” spoilers we got were actually true? they really did act like an old married couple, IT WAS SOO GOOOD
tbh im kinda torn? bc one thing is that i absolutely adored the kinda softer/more domestic version of venom? and his relationship with eddie in general? but i kinda missed his more feral side, the one we got in the first movie? (though their fight at the beginning was 10/10, just, I loved it so much, they’re both so stupid)
I KNOW venom is a loser symbiote and he’s weaker than others, but how come he could spawn something so unhinged and OP like carnage? without having half of his child’s powers? idk it just looked kinda weird to see carnage with all his shapeshifting tentacles and spikes and everything while venom was….. just some guy basically? idk I’m not fluent in marvel comics, it was probably explained somewhere, but idk, I’d do anything to see venom go absolutely feral again (bonus points if he’d do that to protect/save eddie)
loved the “fuck this guy” moment too lol, that one use of fuck was actually pretty well done (and venom typing dik dik dik on eddie’s laptop in the beginning? peak comedy lmfao)
aaaaand ahhhhh when Anne told venom you look after Eddie omg ;_;

Oh, boys...(the buddie or even the Buck-and-Eddie-are-queer of it all)! As a grown up queer who has been around this particular block with these showrunners too many times...We don't get to have this, right? Our stories told in such a nuanced, layered and organic way? The way homophobia is just so fucking pernicious. But my GOD the sheer volume and variety of hints! (Buck=queer! Eddie=smitten! Buckley-Diaz=family!) My queer heart can't take it. (1 of 2)
(2 of 2) Does the Ryan Murphy of it all make the difference? What do you think about Buddie in the context of the (rapidly) evolving relationship between fandom and creators and the changing landscape of queer storytelling? (With the Ryan Murphy of it all, because I keep forgetting an extremely powerful homosexual made this show...)
I now owe myself ten bucks because I bet myself that it would take two weeks at least for people to realize my askbox was open again and it only took about three days.
I’m not sure I’m the best person to ask, honestly. I’m just one silly little person with her silly little opinion. And I’m really trying to not be active in the fandom, so to speak.
But for what it’s worth here are my answers to the various parts of your question.
Edit: The first part of my answer got fucking deleted by tumblr and I had to rewrite it. My apologies.
1. I think it’s too early for euphoria (do we really get to have this???) or despair (they were queerbaiting us and laughing at our audacity to hope). If you pointed a gun at a kitten and made me take a bet, I’d say that we are indeed getting hints towards Buddie. But that’s if you put a gun to the head of a kitten. As it is, I feel it’s too early for us to really say either way and we have to keep watching and see how it goes. For all of my clown jokes, I’m not willing to make a firm statement one way or another.
2. The Ryan Murphy of it all? To be frank, I don’t trust Murphy any farther than I can throw him. Have we learned nothing from the steaming pile of hot mess that was Glee or the batshit insanity of American Horror Story? Especially with Murphy’s history of biphobia (we love you Brittany Pierce and you deserved better). I will also note that Murphy is not the showrunner of 9-1-1. Tim Minear is. It’s Minear’s decisions that will influence the show, not Murphy’s. Frankly I think that Murphy’s storytelling is trite, shallow, and thin. So if you’re looking for someone who thinks Ryan Murphy is going to be our guardian angel with this, you’re looking in the wrong place.

Look I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: if Buddie becomes canon it will be in spite of the fan behavior. While I do love that being in fandom and openly shipping characters (especially queer ships) is no longer taboo and we can be open about it, I’m appalled at how in the process we have lost all respect for the divide between creator and consumer. Actors, showrunners, writers, etc are not your friends and they certainly don’t owe you shit. It makes it especially hard for us as queer people, neurodivergent people, etc to make our voices heard when we ask for better representation, because we get drowned out by the obnoxious voices.
If you waved the gun at the kitten again, I would say that Minear and the other writers noticed the fan response to Buddie and decided to explore that possibility. Minear even expressed that he was going off social media so that annoying fans wouldn’t influence his decision one way or another about Buddie. So I think it’s something that, thanks to strong fan response, the writers are considering - but there’s a difference between ‘fan response’ and ‘fans being little pieces of shit’ and the fandom seriously crossed that line last season.
Whether the writers have decided to go with it or not (and I’ve said this before as well: season four will be make or break it on if Buddie becomes canon or not) is not because of fans. Fan response told them “hey this is a possibility.” The writers then looked at what they had created with Buck and Eddie, consulted and debated amongst themselves on what to do based on the character arcs, and made a choice accordingly.
If we get Buddie it’s because of the integrity of the writers and their commitment to doing what was best for their characters, ignoring an understandable desire to spite all the assholes harassing them and not make it canon.
The moment creators start trying to cater to fans and perform fanservice rather than telling a story, your show goes to shit. Siren and Timeless are two examples off the top of my head. Hell I would even dare to say that the last three episodes of Supernatural with the Castiel confession and death and then the whole rest of it was an attempt by the writers to have their cake and eat it too by pleasing all the different fan factions. Which, as we all know, never works because in trying to please everyone you please no one.
A good storyteller listens to fans, genuinely weighs their opinions and needs, then sits down and does what serves the story, not what serves the fans. Good fans show their love and enthusiasm, but don’t harass creators (including actors, who have very little say in the direction the show goes). That is the true symbiotic relationship.
4. I think that we’ve come a long way in queer storytelling. For every Supernatural, we have a dozen other shows that have queer rep. Is it as good as it could be? No. But just looking at the strides we’ve made over the last decade... it’s huge. It’s really great. And I think... while I hope that Buddie is made canon - a good slow burn between two best friends who became more - the fact that the writers even took the time to consider that possibility with respect is a huge thing.
Of course, my opinion might change based on how S4 goes. We haven’t finished the trial yet.
I hope that we continue to see a trend of showrunners and writers listening to fans and considering the idea that maybe a character could be queer. I hope that we see a trend of more slow burns instead of a loud neon THEY’RE GAY sign followed by instalove and immediate dating. But I’m not yet willing to either condemn the 9-1-1 writers or lift them up onto pedestals.

Tumblr is fucking with me right now. I’m not getting notifications from some of my posts. I hope this won’t happen with this one as well.
This chapter is a little different. It will likely seem a little confusing and kind of all over the place. I assure you, this is not because I wrote it while being drunk. :-)
The chapter is supposed be reflect on Peter mental and emotional state after rejecting Tony, and right now, Peter isn’t in a good place. There is a lot of self-loathing, as well as self-destructive behaviour.
As always, this wasn’t beta read, I’m not a nativ english speaker, and there might be mistakes or typos in this. Please point any you may find out to me, so I can correct them.

Part 3
24 muggings, 18 instances of battery, 11 cases of domestic violence, 7 attempted rapes, 5 house fires, 3 attempted kidnappings.
It had been a busy 6 days for Spiderman.
6 days since Peter had fled from the man he loved. The man who returned those feelings. The man who wanted to spend his life with him.
And Peter had run.
Like a coward.
6 days of almost non-stop heroism. 6 days of being Spiderman. 6 days of being someone who caught the bad guys, who protected the defenseless, who saved people!
It was such a fucking farce.
6 days of trying desperately to not be Peter Parker. Because Peter Parker was a fucking mess. Because Peter Parker couldn't deal with his fucking feelings and his fucking paranoia and his fucking life. Because Peter Parker was so scared that he was gonna lose someone else he loved, that he kept running away from them.
Just as he had done with Tony.
Aunt May had been easier.
He had moved into student housing together with Harry (before his then best friend had become a mutated, homicidal maniac), when he had started college. Slowly reducing their time together during his time as a student. First cutting down on the weekends he would visit her, then encouraging to go for that job she wanted (which included better working conditions and pay, but was based in California.)
Helping her move, promising to call often (which he did) and visit as much as he could (which he didn't).
He missed her every day, but at least she was safe. Safe from being collateral damage in Peter Parker's fucked up life.
Like Gwen, and MJ, and Harry, and Eddie.
Like Dr. Conners and Dr. Octaviuos and Captain Stacey.
Like uncle Ben.
And Peter should have fucking learned from all of this. He should have known to keep away from people. Keep his distance. Keep them safe.
But no.
No.
Because Peter was a selfish little prick and he just had to make friends, right?
Turning away from the people in his civilian life, had led him to forge deeper connections with the people in his hero life.
Stupid, stupid, stupid!
Spiderman and the Avengers had worked together a lot over the years. As had Spiderman and the Defenders.
And Peter just had to let himself grow attached, hadn't he?
Just had to insert himself into the two groups more an more. Talk them into team outings and movie nights and shared patrols.
Take off his mask and entrust them with his secret identity.
Endanger them.
And then take things even further and fall in love!
Selfish fucking moron!
But Tony was... he was just... everything.
Funny and smart and handsome and brave and sarcastic and kind.
Narcissistic and confident and charming and sexy.
But also shy, unsure and insecure.
Tony had his vices, and his flaws. Just like everyone else did. But Peter had fallen for the man anyway. He had fallen fast, hard, and completely in love with Anthony Edward Stark, Iron Man.
And for some crazy, ludicrous, abnormal reason, Tony returned those feelings.
Tony Stark, the man who could have anyone, wanted Peter Parker.
Selfish, cowardly, broken Peter Parker.
And how had Peter reacted to that?
By pretty much throwing Tony's love on the floor and trampling all over it on his way out the door.
Running away.
Coward!
6 days since he had last spoken to the genius. 6 days since he had even seen the man. 6 days of hiding behind his mask and swinging around in his suit and obsessively looking for anyone who might need his help.
As if it could balance out all the lives he had destroyed. As if it could erase the pain he had caused Tony.
6 days of running away from life as Peter Parker.
He had barely slept and hardly eaten anything. (He only took care to keep himself well hydrated. Though most of what he drank was some form of liquid caffeine, to keep himself awake)
Hadn't bothered to take care of the various injuries he had acquired.
The other heroes he came across were getting worried.
First Matt after Peter had been out as Spiderman for a full 18 hours, and just yesterday Steve. They had taken him aside, told him to go home. Rest up and take a break.
They shouldn't bother.
He deserved this.
The exhaustion and the hunger and the pain.
He deserved it all for being a fucking, useless mess who always ended up hurting the people he loved.
His knuckles were stinging and bloody as he drove his fist into the brick wall once more. His healing factor stretched thin after almost a week without proper rest and nourishment.
Good. This is your punishment. You deserve this.
He had no time for self-pity (he didn't deserve any, anyway)
It had been all over the news. A sudden power failure at the raft. Security systems crashing. Suspected cyber attack.
Two of the prisoners had escaped. Conners and Octavious. The Lizard and Doc Ock.
And as if that wasn't enough, Peter had overheard Steve on the phone with the director of Shield (after the good Captain had unsuccessfully tried to convince Spidey to take a break).
Venom was gone from the containment unit.
Three of his worst enemies were on the loose.
He had doubled his efforts since he had heard of it. No quick pit stops in his apartment. No short rests on the rooftops. Peter hadn't slept at all in the last 64 hours.
He still hadn't found them. No one had found them.
Eddie Brock was under 24 hour observation to make sure the symbiote couldn't attach itself to it's preferred host. (Another life that Peter had destroyed. Due to his bond with Venom, Eddie had been reduced to little more than the likes of a junkie. In a constant state of withdrawal, driven mad by his need for reunion with the alien. He would probably have to live out the rest of his life in the mental institution he currently resided in)
All your fault!
The Avengers and the Defenders likewise had been spotted all over New York, trying to find and recapture the escaped villains before they could cause any damage. They constantly tried to flag Spidey down, get him somewhere safe, or at least make him stay close to them. Everyone know that Conners, Octavious and Venom would be out for Peter's blood.
(The only one Peter hadn't seen since the news broke out was Iron Man, and he didn't know what to think about that)
Maybe he doesn't care about you anymore. Good! He shouldn't! They are your villains and therefore your problem! The other heroes shouldn't have to clean up your mess!
6 days since he had last been at work.
He was probably fired. He didn't care. He could hardly think straight.
He was exhausted and starving and in pain.
You deserve this.
Three of his most dangerous enemies were somewhere in the city, planning who knows what, and every hero in New York had to waste their time and energy looking for them.
All your fault! Always such a burden on everyone.
Tony probably hated him.
He should! He deserves so much better than you!
He was on his last two cartridges of webfluid, having depleted his whole supply swinging through the city, looking for any trace of the Lizard and Ock. He should go back. Make more webfluid. He would need it in the fight against the two villains. (Three, if Venom got a hold of Eddie.)
Peter needed to be prepared for this. But he couldn't stop now. He had to find and apprehend them, before they could hurt anyone! He couldn't stop, couldn't take a break.
You don't deserve a break.
He had to keep going.
He was so exhausted.
He still hadn't found them.
Everything hurt.
Where could they be?
Tony hated him.
You deserve this.
You deserve this.
You deserve this!
Danger!!!
His spidey-sense screamed and he veered left in his swing at the very last second, narrowly avoiding his former best friend on his deadly glider.
How could Peter have forgotten about Harry, The Green Goblin?

god it WILL NOT stop bothering me until i talk about it. the way we got here. it’s not just about the book anymore, not at all, and it’s certainly never been about “shipping”, at this point it’s how helpless the tactics of the guy make me feel.
step one: refer to people who have read previous venom books and noticed the trend throughout the nineties to portray eddie and the symbiote as a man and an agender alien in an ambiguously or not-so-ambiguously romantic relationship, which was picked up on and completely unambiguously canonised in the very last run, consistently refer to these people as “shippers”, lovingly condescend to them, do not ever treat “the ship” as existing beyond their imagination

result: make people forget that this is a complete misrepresentation and he has received no criticism whatsoever for “not making a ship canon” because that is not what he did, he decanonised it and then denied doing so and painted everyone it ever meant something to as essentially deluded - and, considering that that’s all they are, he’s being awfully kind and accommodating, isn’t he?
evaluation: a reason to harass him? no! really kind of manipulative? yes!
step two: actively seek out these no-good shippers on tumblr! tell them that you’re watching them! read their detailed posts in which they express their grievances about your comic book to their friends and misrepresent their points on your twitter so your bajillion followers can affirm that Those People are categorically wrong about everything!

people are mad at him because he said eddie was codependent! not because he’s reframing the extremely rare story of a troubled queer relationship that was ultimately still a redemptive force in these characters’ lives as an unhealthy compulsion that corrupts, hm, what a fresh and unfamiliar take, no reason why this would strike a nerve - and, recently, of course, as something inherently abusive, every bit of hope and change for the better vile and fake.

yeah, those things become more noticeable in the actual book, over time, and acceptance of that is, uh, not universal? not everybody’s up for him spending several issues in a row on e s t a b l i s h i n g  d o m i n a n c e by having eddie sit around as other characters tell him that a ton of stuff other writers from michelinie to thompson to costa to kaminski to slott to jenkins have done actually sucked and was wrong and fake and never happened? through retcons that make no sense, like, factually don’t fit?
people don’t like you walking back character and relationship development to further your end goal of recasting the symbiote as the personification of addiction and abuse instead of itself a survivor of extreme abuse who has been constantly denied personhood in a way that is frighteningly resonant and who has been going through a genuine redemption arc for years now?
people don’t like you acting like eddie never had a reason for being who he is before and you had to make one up? one that doesn’t fit the character at all, which you didn’t realise because you apparently thought the character had no characterisation before you came along?
you can imagine how these things might spark nerd rage?
and you can probably imagine who this nerd rage was blamed on, yeah?
these criticisms inherently require knowledge of venom canon, because they’re largely about disrespect for it, these criticisms are not related to shipping of any kind - but of course the only thing people could possibly be mad about is the "ship", the only ones making a fuss are those “shippers”, those casuals, Those People who only care about One Thing and don’t understand the real gritty reality of the, god you get it i’m making fun

but who is to blame? who do people accept as being to blame? who do news outlets report on as being to blame? when, i presume, not every single one of them actually went “i’m doing this specifically because i’m a (thunder clap) shipper”? when large-scale retcons are literally always met with nerd rage? when a shipper-less fandom probably still would’ve had threats?

have people in the replies and comments eagerly discussing how this is more proof that c+o+m+i+c+s+gate was right and they’re the only reasonable ones. how disgusting and crazy "shippers” are. how donny should keep doing his best to trigger the gays. there’s no pushback against these ideas.
and i’m so fucking stuck between wanting to defend the man, wring my hands and apologise on behalf of the other These People, because i don’t see anything justifiable in their actions, and in being... just... just so frustrated... with everything... with throwing everyone out to the dogs... and claiming that he doesn’t mean to... when he has this whole history of belittling "shippers” specifically... of making sure their public image is that of people who just don’t know what they’re talking about and are in no way worth empathising with... of only drawing attention to the aggressive ones and blocking the reasonable ones
when he literally only stands to benefit from doing all this.

this makes him essentially immune to criticism of any kind.

which is the least surprising thing ever because there is actually nothing whatsoever to hold these people’s ire to be found in venom? excluding aliens, there has been one real and present character who isn’t a white guy in 11 issues? it is actively less queer than it was before? donny has never caved to the essjaywoo pressure in any way, shape or form? what were they... thinking? it’s almost like these people are dumb?
all they've done is ensure that, without it actually doing anything, venom gets the commendation for being A Comic The Gators Don't Like?

what do we do moving forward? i don’t know. nothing. not harassing anyone. keep being salty on tumblr. do not engage him. i think i’m more about stalling the chain reaction he’s caused than the man himself. if you’re not a “shipper”, of course, keep posting your criticism, maybe stand up for “shippers” who are being dogpiled over genuine criticism, don’t let people say This Is All Proof Of How You Can’t Have Queer Content Because Queers Are Crazy.

The existence of Catholicism in the Cars universe implies that there was (or at least there was believed to be) a car Jesus who died for the cars’ sins, and I for one would like to see how a car gets crucified or sins. I guess the blood/wine here would be gasoline, but what would the body/bread be? How did they sit at the last supper? What is the layout of car church? How does a car build a church? He meets Venom (the alien goo parasite that inhabits his body) in a church. Eddie is depressed and about to end his life and just before he does it goes to church and prays to God to forgive him because suicide is… y’know, a sin. Anyway Venom possesses him and saves his life and they have a crazy relationship/love story and the stained glass window in that church becomes important symbolism for them <3 He is the most catholic man ever
Admittedly, most of Eddie's insanity has little to do with Catholicism, he's just a deranged weirdo (affectionate) but he was suicidal once and went to a church to ask forgiveness before killing himself. That's where he met the symbiote and their relationship has parallels to both marriage and religion.
Listen listen he is the epitome of Catholic trauma. He’s got the angst. The repression. The je ne sais quoi. His whole story is basically very dependant on churches if that makes any sense. Like he tried to kill himself in a church and that’s when he bonded with the symbiote. They stopped a symbiote invasion by fu̶c̶k̶i̶n̶g̶ crying out in agony in a church. EDDIE AND VENOM GOT MARRIED IN CANON IN THE CHURCH WHERE THEY MET. He also has so many breakdowns in churches and we love that for him.
He meets Venom in a church and has a lot of religious moments connected to Venom. They also sort of get married in the church they met at? It's gay. Eddie is catholic and in a committed relationship with an alien and it's gay.
(Cw suicide mention) He's canonically Catholic and has such a funky (read: kinda fucked up) relationship with it. When his life fell apart he went to a church to pray for forgiveness for the sin of committing suicide and to ask God to kill spiderman i think but then before he could actually do anything an alien came down and connected with him (in a gay way) and he was like "are you an angel". Also his sense of morality is totally fucked, its like "if you've done something bad once you deserve to die" and I like to think that's related to the specific brand of Catholicism

I cannot wait to watch Sony fail at making another Spider-Man live-action franchise. Like, these people really did fuck up the original Spider-Man trilogy, followed by them cancelling Garfield’s 3rd Amazing Spider-Man movie cause Garfield wanted Peter to have a male MJ love interest. And now they’re really about to fail at another ending trilogy chapter for the MCU Spider-Man....
Even though it was Disney behind the brains of the operation and made MCU!Spidey so fun to watch by connecting him directly to all the other Marvel superheroes. But nope, now Sony wants to take that away and have him team up with their superhero line-up......which consists of.....umm
one bum-ass venom, who’s portrayed as a hero instead of a villain, and got bad reviews, and was only somewhat popular because people loved the potential gay aspect of Eddie and the Symbiote, even though it wasn’t canon....
Fuck Sony. And when will I finally get to see all the Marvel characters under one roof? Fans deserve that.

the venom movie was a lot of fun but it was very ooc a lot HOWEVER seeing some of the cut scenes and scripts you can see that it used to be actually fairly in character for the comics but a lot of scenes with eddie establishing himself as not actually the most nicest of guys (not that eddie isnt a nice guy deep down but he is a good amount fucked up with a big ol hero complex and a problem with ‘i can do no wrong” mentality sometimes) were cut and considering how the fandom for the movie treats him i can see why the cut those bits out bc i dont think movie goers would have liked him as much wich is a shame bc he is a good guy at the end of the day just fucked up

i distinctly remember the first time the woman at the book store stopped asking me for parental permission to buy the comics i was getting (12yos) because i went there so often that she just remembered who i was and that the adult would say its fine
i refuse to talk about comics with people at cons because i am gatekept or flirted with every single time no matter what and there is no in between. and yea its because i have tits. youd think that eventually theyd learn but gross comic men never do and all the others have adopted the same policy as me so the closest i come to positive comic interaction at cons is standing in the same vicinity as another chick, looking at the same section, and the kinda smiling at each other

i related to gwenpool too much when she first started and it scared/offended me so i stopped reading for a while until her character developed more and we stooped being so similar
i have spider-man bedding. i picked it out only a few months ago. its good it makes me feel cool in a very uncool way
watching spider-man as a kid made me wanna be a scientist. watching batman as a kid made me want to do martial arts. i ended up failing chemistry and falling on my face a lot instead.
i had a huge venom toy and a huge spiderman toy as a kid and while i did make them fight a lot i also made them hug just as much. i wanted them to be friends
on that note PETER IS MEAN TO THE SYMBIOTE NOW AND HE DONT EVEN HAVE A REASON NO MORE hes just such a dick about criminal reform eddie and the symbiote aint special with this- he says he believes people can be better but he really doesnt show it. he tends to think people are set in their ways and while this makes sense forthe most part considering how much hewas bullied as a kid/adult (that also contributes to his mild “i protect my own” mentality  tho at least he consciously fights that one) it stil pisses me off

thoughts on tooth and claw itself....
ehh. it’s a little confusing and convoluted and the dialogue is kinda. lol. very 90s. not the worst thing i’ve read. DEFINITELY into the latex bondage meat puppets??? what a fucking aesthetic, almost hellraiser-esque. god it’s just so fucking 90s.
i have counted no less than three separate head-eating jokes, but venom also used the word pernicious which i am all for--venom’s dialogue in general is so... so much that long-winded shit i love from them, they’re so weird.
also there was at least one gay joke that felt outta nowhere and this kid called eddie’s mom EITHER a prostitute or a lesbian, it’s unclear, so... mixed. venom DOES keep saying “hoo-ha!” which i do love, so thanks for that larry hama
joe st pierre’s art is odd but i actually don’t hate it; it’s very expressive and i like the very square way he draws eddie, tho there are def parts that look really weird.
ah THIS is the source of the classic Venom line, “I don’t have any ears!” (though really it should be “we” huh)
and it suggests that eddie, bonded with the symbiote, has two full central nervous systems (and a temporary third because of dirt nap)
on trial:
i like... this weird long-faced venom with their very heart-shaped eyes and little mouth but the way josh hood draws eddie is kinda weird--i can’t tell if eddie is supposed to be a redhead or if the colorist made matt blonde XD their hair is the same color! i do like how this guy draws spidey too tho... big wide spidey eyes are my weakness. ooh and this carnage is good too..... good symbiotes and spidey suits abound even with weird looking people.
anyway the story in this is more engaging by far, compared to tooth and claw... tho it’s weird to me that they were like, there are no more real superheroes.... and then immediately daredevil and spider-man are brought in?? “it was a sad day when all the real super-heroes went away” SPIDER-MAN IS RIGHT THERE????
it’s super interesting to me that the sound blasts scramble the symbol on venom’s chest, in the art, so the spider’s legs separate--i like that detail of lost composition. but ALSO is constantly blasting Venom with sound, to contain them, like that.... ethical... like is this torture??? oh. “the music blasting is cruel and unusual punishment” i was right it’s unethical
“symbiotes need dopamine from humans to establish their nerve tissue communication link” interesting, and it says this drug stops the brain from making dopamine. just some fun executive dysfunction-in-a-jar i guess.
oh boy some fun anti-mutant stuff....
and carnage said “hoo-ha!” too!! i guess larry hama just likes that. they also seem to, like, talk way different than current versions of inexplicable hick carnage. like.
also everyone keeps calling cletus and eddie puppies and using dog pound analogies and that’s very funny to me

Having the ability to/of ( SYMBIOTE’S POWERS FROM EVERY HOST BEFORE AND AUTONOMOUS DEFENSE, SHAPESHIFTING, CAMOUFLAGE ) sure makes them a force to be reckoned with. They’re known to be ( KIND ) but also ( CARELESS ) and they’re ( TWENTY FIVE ) years old.

eddie brock
- he comes from a family of serious money and power. learning how most of rich people got the money and everything they had, he couldn’t stand for it and eventually became a journalist to devote his life to campaigning against the wealthy and powerful elite.
- he takes his job way too seriously - he goes extreme to get the information he needs. his blog is very popular and there’s no dirty person he hasn’t been able to take down once they get his attention.
- eddie is pretty calm and chill when he’s not working, just minding his business and being the depressed gay this world doesn’t deserve. he’s not a fan of violence or heights, which are great contrast against venom’s nature.
- he found venom the movie way; following clues about an ongoing case. my boy is a certified mess so, obviously, he couldn’t be stealthy enough and got himself in trouble at the same time he found the illegal experiments a lab was doing. venom and his clone (mania) were the only symbiotes on earth at that point, the first one using him as a host to get out of the lab.
- protect him.
venom
- a symbiote created by a god called Knull, in a nameless planet. they were created to save a group of newborn baby rodentoid aliens by bonding to them, but after their task was finished, they left on their own and hid in the planet klyntar for generations before some kree explorers found them.
- after some time fighting alongside the krees and being the key to the kree-skull war, the symbiotes hid again in another planet. some stayed there, some left to other planets, but only venom chose earth as a destination.
- venom’s plan was killing the humans and making the planet another place for the symbiotes to stay - but he didn’t count with the fact that humans were awful hosts for them. he waited for one of the experiments to work just so he could start his plan, but it wasn’t until a messy human found him by mistake that he was able to finally fusion with a human.
- after years of living in the planet, venom found a real interest on earth. or, the people on it. after meeting eddie and learning how he thought and worked, the symbiote couldn’t help but win an adoration for the race.
- he’s violent and chaotic by nature, but doesn’t act of it because he listens to eddie... the majority of the time. though this shouldn’t be taken too firmly because he’s, indeed, what humans call a ‘villain’. no remorse, no feelings.
quick things about both:
- just like in the comics, eddie is not really a good host for the symbiote. no normal human is. this is because a chemical called phenethylamine is needed for venom in order to survive and it can’t be produced in the fusion with human bodies. though it is found in human bodies, more specifically, the brain. eddie doesn’t like the eating brains part though so venom is addicted to the other thing in earth that has it: chocolate.
- venom can shapeshift to whatever form he wants. when he’s not attached to eddie, he prefers being the form of a snake or a cat. every form has his face and teeth, though.
- eddie is able to remember everything venom does when they fusion, as long as the symbiote wants. if he doesn’t let him, the guy kind of fades and wakes up hours later without remembering a thing.
- they don’t like being separated, unless eddie wants to do something personal or spend time with people without having the alien listening. if he’s not told to leave and the complete fusion is not needed, venom likes to hang around eddie’s neck or wrist.
- the two are always arguing, but they love each other. eddie is often called crazy because if the symbiote doesn’t want to be seen, he simply hides inside his body and people think he’s talking to himself all the time.
- venom’s offsprings are all around the planet and he has no control over them. not that he cares anyway, unless they find a chaotic human that lets them explore their full nature and have to be stopped.
