∴ I made sure to get out for minus tides & found a magical area that gave a fun peak through to some glorious starfish, nudibranchs, & sea anemones. I love getting out to the beaches when the minus tides happen, a lot of the underbelly of the rocks are all exposed showing an abundance of sea life you usually don’t see. This was nudibranch cove though, on the left side of the image, that sea wall had about 10 of them across the whole wall. Then back on the sea rock you mainly see has about 5 more on that rock, I am sure there were many more I could not see. The species I found was a Monterey Dorid, I encourage everyone that is not familiar with them to look that up. Thank you everyone for continuing to follow! Why don't we connect anymore?

I am currently reading a book about Celtic folklore and one good point it makes (out of so many more) is how most of us believe that because we now have upgraded and advanced in technology and within our ways of living, that what our ancestors had to do to survive and what they worshipped are far behind us. As if the ways of the earth itself has been forgotten. reading this and fully coming to an understanding of the point she makes then leaves me with so many questions myself. Like why do we as beings think that we are far from the past? as in so far that it doesn't exist still? as if we can't still worship the planet and the beautiful spirits and gods of this world. as if the magic has been left in the past...When in reality those ways and those spiritual ways of the earth are way beyond just being in the past because they never stayed in the past. The earth has provided for us for so long and still does. It still gives life to the living plants within its very grounds and still holds the streams and big bodies of water as it always has. to think its continued to do all of this while we have been polluting its airs and hurting its environment and the poor animals residing on it just really hurts me inside.

Furthermore on the same point I believe that we are not far from "the past" we are merely just adding these new ways that are turning us from what use to be. Not to say its all bad but it comes to a point where im sure some of us start to think that the magic of the planet and of going to beautiful nature places in the woods or forests they aren't things we should be taking as lightly as we do. Instead we should be taking it in when we can or even if we choose to on a regular basis. Take in everything that this earth has provided for us and still does. Taking the time to sit with nature and be with the spirits of the trees, waters, grounds, plants, and the animals and insects. to be with them all for a while and become one with their space that they call home. It might surprise you just how the earth still is here for you.

What to take away from this post in summary is basically to try and be more with nature if you can and it can be literally anywhere. From parks and fields to woods. (to really just about anywhere really.) Just take it all in and thank the spirits of this planet for everything when you can . Take time for them as they take for us. Some may surprise you and maybe even befriend you in some way or another. (never expect anything really though as one should just be truly grateful no matter the outcome).

What do you do when you struggle with the creative process to make ideas to write new things?

There’s a couple things I do to keep the idea machine running!

1. Routine: while I don’t have an exact time I write everyday, I do have a general time/place, which is a coffee shop some time in the morning. Routine is super important for writing since it’ll train your brain to switch on for creating stuff and make it so you can produce more in a timely manner.

Some days you won’t feel like writing, but building a habit of it will make it easier in the long-run.

2. Ideas: routine is good, but if you have no idea what to write then it can make it hard. One thing I do is keep an “ideas” folder that I stalk-up every now and then

it has sub-categories like “scary stories” and “fantasy” but my main one is just general ideas where I spit-ball any and every idea that I think has potential. The ideas range from entire plots to just a sentence where I describe the prompt.

I also have a folder called “writing things I love” where I keep track of things I’ve read that I’ve really liked such as quotes or twists or just tropes I like. This folder makes it so I can go look back at things that inspire me and draw ideals from that.

3. Burn-out: burn-out is real and I do experience it every few months, it can be important to take breaks and recognize when you need to take a break. If writing another word makes you feel drained or angry or just very negative I suggest taking some time off to refuel. Take a few days to just read or watch TV or not think about writing at all.

HOWEVER, taking breaks can risk undoing your routine and be a problem on its own, the way I counter-act this is that I make a new deal with myself. Writing every day is a contract I make to myself in good-faith, I do breaks in the same way.

This means I make a new contract with myself: I’ll rest for 3 days and then go back to writing on the 4th. This has worked for me so far! The part of me that’s tired feels respected and is willing to go back to it when the time comes.
