If the direct translation of Hyksos is “rulers of a foreign country” then wouldn’t Nefertiti and Akhenaten be considered foreigners to the land? It explains the connection between Abraham and Hammurabi with ease.

Moreover, it flies in the face of more recent theories that all of the dynasties of Egypt we think of were Semitic in origin. I mean, 1750 BCE is almost 1,500 years after a Kushite by the name of Menes unified North and South Egypt and set up the first dynasty.

Or, hear me out. Is it because of the way we lump together groups with the term Semitic that’s the issue. It was created by a linguist who observed the sons of Shem spoke a set of related languages. Unfortunately, the verse in Genesis that ties the sons of Shem together does so by blood. So now, we associate the Semitic language with constructs like race instead of culture.

Somebody with a more extensive grasp on history please jump in and explain this. I’m genuinely perplexed.

What we’re seeing is the downfall of the British Monarchy/British Royal Family. Amazingly, they (BRF & British Media) viewed Meghan Markle as a threat to their existence when in reality they’re going to be the cause of their demise; this is how empires, monarchies, & dynasties have ended!

Today, I watched the entire documentary series Dynasties. Narrated by Sir David Attenborough, the series follows five animals in their struggles to ensure the survival of their families.

In watching it, the one thing that struck me most was how precarious a position wildlife, the world over, is in today.

In the last century, tiger populations have reduced by 95%. African painted wolves (formerly known as Cape hunting dogs or African wild dogs) numbered only 6,600 in the world, as of 2017. In two decades, lion populations have decreased by 43%, with them now being absent from 94% of their historic range. Western chimpanzees have seen a reduction of over 80% over the last 25 years. By 2100, it is estimated that 98% of emperor penguin colonies will have gone extinct.

And it isn't just the big wildlife that get butts in seats for documentaries that are in decline. Since 1970, wildlife populations have declined by nearly 70%.

The IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) has not fully evaluated all populations, in fact, by 2021, it has only assessed some 7% of known species, with the least studied being arachnids, insects, and crustaceans, so the news may be even more dire than that.

Even in my own lifetime, I've seen a noticeable decline in once ubiquitous species such as starlings. In my childhood, murmurations in the fens of England were commonplace. Now, I'm lucky if I see or hear two starlings in a year, and birds are the only taxonomic group who have been studied 100% for their extinction risk by the IUCN.

If I take nothing else away from this series of documentaries, the important one is the impact that human encroachment and destruction on habitat has had on wildlife populations.

If we do nothing, on an individual level, and on a corporate and government accountability level, our world faces total extinction, and probably not in the very far future.

In his waning hours in power, Philippine President Dictator Rodrigo Duterte ordered the news site Rappler to be closed down.

Rappler was founded by Maria Ressa who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize largely because of her courageous work at Rappler.

Fortunately Rappler can appeal the order. But if it’s upheld, they should consider moving offshore to Guam or Australia the way the Russian news site Meduza moved to Latvia.

The US government should consider sanctioning the corrupt oligarchic autocrats who have been running the Philippines in recent years. They are more interested in filling their pockets with loot than providing good governance to the country.

There is no reason the Philippines shouldn’t be thriving like neighboring countries such as Taiwan, Vietnam, or Thailand. Instead, the country’s main export is talented people who have given up on trying to make a decent and honest living in their own country.

A dozen or so filthy rich dynastic families are strangling the country. Controlling news sources and overloading social media with bullshit is how they retain their privileged economic status and political power. Attempts to suppress Rappler are in keeping with this.

My Nightmare Sans cat design for the story I'm making, Poisoned Fruit. Dream and Night will still be brothers, but they have wildly different backstories this time around. And different names at the start.

Dream would be named Goldenstar, and Night would be Nightpearl, in reference to the moon. Of course, not all is pleasant. Dream would get berated for how tiny he is. Being a scottish fold kitten, he's small. Night is bigger, but still thinner and smaller than the other cats. They both got ridiculed and there's no real betrayal.

Dream would be asleep and Night would try to sneak out to get food for the 2 of them. However, he's attacked by a rogue dynasty cat, Hollyfeather, and is left to die. But upon seeing an apple in front of him, he decides to eat it, keeping himself alive until he gets help.

He eventually did get help, from an abused housecat known as Axeear. But his nickname was Horror, since his home called him that so often. Night went with him, helping him hunt and realise what a wild cat was. But, he forgot about his little brother. He changed his name to Nightmare, staying with Horror/Axeear.

Upon waking up, Dream noticed Night gone, walking out to try and find him, but to no avail, and he was attacked. But, he was sick of it. Sick of the abuse towards him and his brother, sick of the pain, sick of everything! And... He snapped.

OK I AM NOT REVEALING ANYMORE THAT WOULD BE JUST THE BASIC SUMMARY XD The moons took forever, and I will add shading later, just not rn lmao. This is so you can clearly see the designs and the damage done to Night in the attack-

So, I'm playing the new map on Medieval Dynasty as a woman (because they finally decided to let you play as a woman), and I was curious how the pregnancy dynamic was going to work because historically, in the game, when your wife gets pregnant, she goes on an 18-year maternity leave until your kid is grown, and I was like, well I'm the main character, so what's going to happen?

Am I just not going to be able to work or complete quests while I run around after my kiddo? Surely not. That'd be ludicrous. I wonder how they'll handle this...

Well, they handled it. They handled it by making my husband pregnant.

My beloved lumberjack husband, Teodoryk, is with child and very happy about it.

This game went from "you can't play as a woman because it's historically inaccurate" to "we're not going to fix the ridiculous game dynamic of an 18-year maternity leave, but we will make it so you can get your husband pregnant instead."

Incredible. Fully headcanoning this as a t4t marriage in 11th century Poland. I can't wait to meet our beautiful child. I will, however, be hiring a new lumberjack because I am not cutting down trees for the next 18 years. Fuck that. I've got wolves to fist-fight in the woods.

U Conn Basketball Team

This basketball team from NCAA is in a dynasty after winning their second title by beating the Purdue Boilmakers by the score of 76-60. This was their second title they have won after they won it all last year. Now they have become the fourth team after UCLA, Duke and some other team that I am not able to remember. So I will just leave it at that.
