Duntroon is a suburb of the city of Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory. This suburb is described as limestone plains on the slopes above the Molonglo River. Like some places in Canberra, Duntroon’s land is covered with Alluvium, loose soil from a volcanic eruption together with limestone as a type of rock prominent in the area. With the type of land and soil that Duntroon has, blocked drains are common in residential areas. If you’ve encountered this, you may be wondering, “which plumber in Duntroon should I call?”. The Plumbing and Electrical Doctor is an established company providing emergency plumbing and electrical services for Duntroon for over four decades now. Our licensed plumbers and master electricians can help with issues with blocked drains, hot water systems, and electrical concerns.

Can we hear about this time travel au of WMLP where Dick army days gets through back in time to the team? Would he be that much older then Roy and Kaldur? Would Robin Dick be around?
Well it's only just started to develop in my head so there's not much to say.
I think I decided on Slade putting him in at 17, or so, and RMC Duntroon is only about 18 months of training. So he could be any age above 18 really. But I think maybe he gets dropped in at around 20.
The next question is, is it just him? Or does he get dropped in and like, Artemis is already there? Or maybe one or two other people from the team. Or just the future in general. Future Roy standing there and seeing Dick alive?! And also in... A military uniform?! What the fuck is going on...
I like the idea that Dick is super disoriented cause he was literally just on base. Like maybe not in the midst of battle or anything, but he was sitting in his office or smth doing plans and shit. Or in the mess hall. Or doing some training. Just basic life stuff. And then his ears pop and his vision goes a bit blurry at the edges and he can feel... Cold air? On his neck? And there's this odd wet rock smell. He hears some distant sound, like a voice? And he turns to figure it out or ask someone else if they feel it, and he's just... In the mountain now.
That or he is in the midst of battle, and this happens, and he's just standing there with like. The armoured vest and helmet and a rifle. Maybe because of the confusion something happened and he's got a bullet wound just to make it extra angsty.
Everyone is trying to rush him to the infirmary and he's like 'nah it's fine just gimme a second' lmao.
But yeah. For sure once he's not in all the gear and bleeding he gets asked what in the fuck he's doing and whether or not he's under cover. By now Dick has been doing this shit for a while, he finished training and started active service, he's probably been sent home on leave a couple times so he's figured out this isn't some elaborate double agent thing and is instead Slade's requirement for Dick to Know All The Things. So when they ask what the hell he's doing running around as a soldier Dick is like 'they're particularly good at training you in survival I guess?' Lmao
I feel like Slade keeps sending Dick back for several years of service and there's a point where Dick is like 'uhhh why am I still here? I've learned just about everything I can' and Slade is like 'sometimes I need alone time' lmao. So at this point Dick has figured the only reason he's here is because Slade doesn't like having to constantly manipulate him every second of the day.

🆃🅷🅴 1987 🅷🅾🅳🅳🅻🅴 🆂🆃 🅼🅰🆂🆂🅰🅲🆁🅴, 🅸🅽 🅼🅴🅻🅱🅾🆄🆁🅽🅴 🅰🆄🆂🆃🆁🅰🅻🅸🅰
This write up is quite long, and explains in detail the formative events in Julian's life, as well as the events that directly contributed to his actions.
Julian Knight was born March 4th 1968 in Melbourne Australia. When he was 10 days old he was adopted by Pamela Anne Knight and Ralph Knight. Ralph was an Army Captain, his role was as an education officer in the Royal Australian Army Educational Corps. He was a qualified teacher who taught literacy, numeracy, and later on Mandarin to soldiers. Before retiring he would reach the rank of Major.
Between 1968 and 1975 the Knight family moved regularly, spending time in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Melbourne. In 1975 the family travelled through South East Asia, before returning to Melbourne to settle down for good.
In January 1976, Julian is encouraged by his father to take part in Cub Scouts, and he does so until 1968 when he graduates from Cub Scouts to Scouts, which he continues until 1979.
In February 1980 Julian begins high school, and in March 1980, his parents separate, and the same month Julian's father gives him a Daisy Air Rifle. Then between May and November he works as a paper boy for the local newsagent, where he saves up enough money to purchase a Chinese Air Rifle.
In 1982 his parents finalise their divorce, and his mother moves the family from Hoppers Crossing in Melbourne's outer western suburbs, to Clifton Hill in the inner northern suburbs.
Beginning in June 1982 Julian begins training with the Norwood High School Army Cadet Unit, and in August he attends his first Army Cadets Camp at the Puckapunyal Military Base in Victoria. It is here that he fires an M16 for the first time.
In November 1972 he is involved in a fight at school and is suspended for the rest of the year (the school year in Australia finishes around December 19th). And in February 1983, he starts at a new high school. In March he appears in court for charges stemming from the schoolyard fight, where all the charges are dropped.
In May 1983, Julian attends the Army Cadets NCO (Non Commissioned Officer- Lance Corporal) course in Goonram, Victoria. Then in August he again attends Army Cadets Camp at the Puckapunyal Military Base. Then a week later he attends Army Cadets Adventure Training Award Course also at Puckapunyal. And in December he attends Army Cadets Senior NCO Camp in Bambara, Victoria where he is promoted to the NCO rank of Corporal.
In January 1984 he purchases a Crossman High Powered Air Rifle. And in April he begins training with the Melbourne High School Army Cadets Unit. In May, he gets a part time job at McDonald's in Melbourne CBD. Then in August he attends his third Army Cadets Camp at Puckapunyal Military Base. The following week, he attends his first Army Reserve Training Weekend, also at Puckapunyal.
In January 1985, he begins his final year of high school. In March he attends his second Army Reserve Training Weekend, this time in Sale, Victoria. In July, he applies for entry into the January 1986 intake of the Australian Defence Force Academy in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. In August he attends his fourth Army Cadets Camp, followed a week later, by his third Army Reserve Training Weekend. On August 13th, he attends examination day for entry to the Australian Defence Force Academy, however he fails due to poor school results and is told to re-apply to the Royal Military College, Duntroon, Canberra, for army officer cadet training.
October 1st 1985, Julian applies for enlistment into the Australian Army Reserve, before sitting his high school leaving exams in November. On November 26th he successfully enrols in the Australian Army Reserve as a Reservist Trainee Soldier. From December he trains as an Army Reservist Trooper.
In January 1986, he obtains his high school leavers certificate, with a C grade in 5 subjects. Then from February 1st to 15th he attends the Army Reserve Recruit Course at Puckapunyal. In March, he is accepted into La Trobe University, as an undergraduate studying a Bachelor of Arts degree, and commences studying French, German History, and Politics. However, he drops out in May.
On March 4th Julian turns 18, which is the legal age you can apply for a firearms licence, and the day after his birthday he applies for a Victorian Shooters Licence. He is gifted a German Ruger 10/22 .22 calibre semi automatic rifle, which is a family heirloom, by his uncle.
In April, he attends the Army Reserve Assault Troopers Course at Puckapunyal, and on the day of his return home he is issued with an A, B, and C Category Victorian Shooters Licence. Then from April 26th to 11th of May, he attends the Army Reserve "A" Vehicle Course, in Sale, Victoria.
On May 15th 1986, Julian purchases a Mossberg 12ga 8 shot pump-action shotgun from a Melbourne gun dealer.
On July 30th he applies for January 1987 intake to the Royal Military College Duntroon, and undergoes a series of aptitude tests and interviews.
Then, on July 31st he purchases a M14 7.62mm (.308) calibre semi automatic military rifle from a Melbourne gun dealer.
1st of September, Julian attends examination day for entry into the Royal Military College. He passes the examinations, and advances to the RMC selection board interview process.
October 2nd, he attends the selection board for the Royal Military College, in Watsonia, Melbourne. He passes and is placed on a short list.
October 3rd to 19th he attends Army Reserve Radio Operators Course, in Sale, Victoria, where he is the course's "Student of Merit". And on October 16th he is informed that he has been accepted into the January 1987 intake of the Royal Military College.
In November 1986, he attends the 4th/19th PWLH Regimental Annual Range Shoot Weekend at Puckapunyal. He attains the highest score in the regiment with the L1A1 Self-loading rifle.
On January 12th 1987, Julian begins his training at the Royal Military College Duntroon. During his time at the RMC, he states that he was the victim of continuous bastardisation and victimisation by senior staff cadets, beginning on his first day.
In April, 1987 Julian began dating a 17yo public servant named Meg. The victimisation of Julian, then escalated, and senior staff cadets would sexually assault Meg in front of him, on multiple occasions while socialising at civilian venues. The same cadets also assaulted another civilian female friend of Julian's named Liz.
By May, the victimisation and bastardisation had reached a zenith, where he would be given orders that were literally impossible to follow. For example, on a day in mid May, he was ordered to prepare tea, coffee, and toast for a group of senior cadets. The was initially ordered to prepare their orders while on the floor, having to crawl underneath chairs and tables, and then after 5 minutes the instructions changed and he was now to prepare their orders without touching the floor, being forced to jump between tables. They senior cadets then began to scream at Knight to hurry up, and when he was almost finished preparing their orders, they would change what they wanted forcing him to start over. When he hadn't finished their orders in 10 minutes, he was given a piece of toast slathered with butter, honey, and peanut butter, and ordered to force the entire piece into his mouth unbroken and to eat it. The senior cadets, then proceeded to throw the pieces of toast with butter and honey or peanut butter, up to the ceiling, in order to leave residue on the ceiling, which they then made Julian clean up. This is just a snapshot of the abuse he experienced while at RMC.
Between 26th and 29th of May, there was a field exercise, FEX. Samichon, where Julian was singled out for harsh criticism for making simple mistakes, that other cadets also made. At the end of the exercise, he received the lowest marks by a substantial amount. This left him feeling defeated. Upon returning to RMC, he had an incident with a senior cadet, and as a result of this, he left the base and drove to Belconnen mall, where he purchased a switchblade knife, with a 4in blade, as he wanted to be able to protect himself.
Over the next 18 hours, he was involved in a series of altercations with senior cadets, one which involved having a bayonet pressed into his chest, another involved a senior cadet pinning him against a wall and threatening to punch him in the face.
He was then informed by one of his senior cadets, that it was highly likely that he would be thrown out of the college, and that a better idea would be to resign before that happened. After receiving this news, he decided to desert his assigned duty that night, and instead attend the 18th birthday celebration of his civilian friend Deanne. He decided against wearing his uniform, instead dressing in casual clothes, and he placed his new switchblade in his pocket.
The celebrations began at the Ainslie Hotel, where they stayed until roughly 10.30pm, at which point they travelled to the Private Bin nightclub, which is the same nightclub that the senior cadets frequented. He had decided to resign on Monday, so he thought that he would just ignore anything that the senior cadets said or did. His group made sure to position themselves on the opposite side of the club from the senior cadets, however Staff Cadet Reed, repeatedly approaches Julian, and attempts to force him to return to base, but Julian refuses. This angers Reed who repeatedly places his hands on Julian, before security makes him back off. After Reed does this multiple times, at approximately 1.30am a scuffle breaks out between a group of 5 people, including Julian, Reed, Lance Corporal Thorp, an unnamed cadet, and a civilian who stood up for Julian.
Julian's group leaves the bar, and members of the group help calm him down. He is bleeding from the nose and eyebrow, after receiving multiple punches to the face. His girlfriend then says that she is returning to the club. Julian goes to the bus station to wash the blood off, and while there, he positions the knife so he can easily access it. He then joins the group back at the club.
After ordering a drink, another cadet approached him ,warning him that there was now a group of 9 senior cadets and a Drill Sergeant who were planning on assaulting him, with the intent of hospitalising him. This group is standing near the entrance to the main bar, staring and making threatening gestures towards Julian and his group.
Julian then formulates a plan to attack Reed and Thorpe first, as soon as they are in a position where he can quickly use the knife on them both. He watches the group, waiting for the perfect moment, and then at approximately 2.15am Thorpe leaves the bar. He then decides to attack Reed alone.
At roughly 2.55am Julian's group say that they are leaving the club, and going to one of the groups house. As they prepare to leave, he grabs the handle of the knife, and extended the blade. As his group began to head to the exit, Julian says he has to use the bathroom, and leave them together. He then makes his way through the club, and decides that it is time to attack. He approaches Reed from his blind spot, and when he is standing next to him, draws the knife from his pocket and thrusts the knife into the right side of Reed's head. The blade hit bone, and he withdrew it, and stabbed him again, behind the right ear, as Reed was collapsing to the floor.
As everyone looked at Reed in shock, Julian ran to the door, and on to the street.
He realised that he had accidentally cut his finger, so he wrapped it in his handkerchief, and made the decision to try and find a police car and hand himself in.
After running a few blocks he saw 2 members of the Australian Federal Police in a marked police car. He flagged them down and told them what he had done. He was transported to the Royal Canberra Hospital, to have the wound to his finger examined. While there he called the base and without identifying himself stated that "Lance Corporal Reed had been stabbed and Cadet Knight has been arrested". He was then informed that his wound required micro surgery, and that he would have Eto stay in hospital for 2 days. The police questioned him for roughly 90 minutes, before informing him that they were placing him under arrest for Malicious wounding with a knife.
3rd of June the RMC Board of Studies convenes and decides that Staff Cadet Julian Knight should be asked to "Show Cause" as to why his appointment as Staff Cadet should not be terminated, effectively ending his career as an Army officer.
12th of June, Julian appears before the ACT Magistrates Court on charges of malicious wounding, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and assault in relation to the stabbing on May 31st. He is bailed on a $5,000 self-surety to appear again on November 10th 1987. He then returns to Victoria.
On June 19th, Julian resigns from his appointment as a staff cadet at the Royal Military College, and from the Australian Regular Army, in a letter to the Chief of the General Staff. And on July 13th he completes his discharge procedure at Watsonia Army Base.
Back in Victoria, he moved back in with his mother, however she had converted his childhood bedroom into a second living room, so Julian was forced to sleep on the couch in the front room. He was unable to find a decent paying job, so he accepted a menial position as a casual storeman at a clothing firm. However the wages weren't enough to pay back the $6,000 army loan he took to purchase a car, and he also had roughly $1,200 in other debts. He was also feeling isolated, as his Melbourne girlfriend had moved on, and his Canberra girlfriend was in Canberra. So he began drinking copious amounts of alcohol, approximately 5 times as much as he was drinking in Canberra. He also received the information that his biological mother was living in South Africa, and had not responded to a letter that had been sent to her asking if she was willing to have contact with Julian.
On Sunday August 9th 1987, Julian awoke at roughly 11.30am. It was 16 days since his discharge from the army. At 1.30pm he attended a birthday party for his mother, at his grandmother's house. He left the gathering at 4.10pm, and while he was there he consumed 2 cans of beer. He drove his younger sister home, before paying a quick visit to his former girlfriend.
Upon leaving her house, his cars gearbox jammed, leaving the car stuck in 2nd gear. He made his way home, where he parked the car, and changed his outfit. He also drank a third beer, before angrily walking the short distance to his regular hangout, The Royal Hotel, arriving at around 5.30pm. None of his friends were there, so he drank alone for the next 3 hours and 20 minutes. At this stage his severely depressed mood, coupled with extreme intoxication, manifested in a psychotic vision of a soldier being ambushed, which when combined with his intense anger, extreme stress, and agitation caused him to experience what he later described to detectives as a "call to arms".
Five minutes later he was sprinting back to his mother's house.
When he arrived, he spoke briefly with his sister when he encountered her in the hallway. Once she had returned to the back of the house to continue watching TV with their mother, he ventured upstairs to retrieve his weapons that were stored under his mother's bed. He took the Ruger rifle, the M14, and the Mossberg shotgun, taking the Ruger and the Mossberg downstairs to the front room. He then collected the M14, and a steel ammunition case, and a leather shotgun cartridge belt from his mother's cupboard, taking them downstairs to the front room also.
He loaded the weapons, and filled his pockets with roughly 100 rounds of ammunition, including a "suicide" 7.62mm round which he placed in the front right pocket of his jeans. He placed a black combat knife down the back of his jeans, then slung the M14 across his back, and picked up the Mossberg and the Ruger in his right and left hands respectively.
At roughly 9.30pm, he ran out the front door, travelling west down Ramsden St and crossing the nearby train line, Julian reached the eastern side of the four lane major arterial road Hoddle St.
He reached the perfect ambush position, and began indiscriminately firing his weapons into cars travelling down Hoddle St. In a 15 minute period he fired 114 rounds from 3 weapons, killing 7 innocent civilians, and wounded a further 19, including 2 police officers.
After a 30 minute police chase to stop and find the shooter, 19 year old Julian Knight was arrested less than a kilometre away in Fitzroy North. His initial plan of committing suicide failed when he was unable to locate his "suicide" round, while surrounded by police, so instead he dropped his weapons, and handed himself in.
In the months following the shooting, Julian underwent a barrage of testing by a variety of professionals. He was then charged with 7 counts of murder, and 47 counts of attempted murder on June 6th 1988.
In early October 1988, following negotiations with the Department of Public Prosecutions, it was decided that he would plead guilty to all charges, in a plea deal. Julian believes that this deal was made with input from the Australian Army, as the main condition of the deal was that the abuse, victimisation, and bastardisation that he experienced at Duntroon would not be mentioned in court, and in exchange the Crown agreed that they would not oppose the setting of a minimum term to the life sentences he was guaranteed to receive.
On November 10th 1988, Julian appeared in the Supreme Court of Victoria for his sentencing hearing. Justice George Hampel sentenced him to Life Imprisonment for each of the counts of Murder, and 10 Years Imprisonment on each of the counts of Attempted Murder. The total sentence he received was Life Imprisonment with a minimum non parole term of 27 years (in Australia, Life Sentences aren't cumulative, and lesser sentences aren't cumulative on top of a Life Sentence, so people don't end up with crazy two or three hundred year sentences like in America. Also, nearly all people who receive Life Sentences will also receive a minimum non parole term, meaning that they have the opportunity to be released in usually 20-30 years, if they don't fuck up massively). Julian was eligible for parole in 2014, however his application has been denied at each parole hearing he has had.
Julian has his own website, where he talks about everything in depth, including his struggles in prison, which are too nuanced for me to get into. I highly suggest checking it out.

Weak Specimens
Canberra 04 June 2023
I had everything figured out. I was going to finagle a way to get out to Duntroon, and I’d make a quick little post about two First World War generals commemorated in the Canberra area, and it was going to be a nice little update before I went to Sydney. And then I got a cold.
This was not conducive to excursions.
That having been said, it has got me thinking about the role of illness and disease in war. Prior to the twentieth century, sickness was by far the biggest killer of soldiers. A posting to the West Indies (the modern Caribbean) was a near death sentence, for yellow fever would rip through the ranks of any regiment dispatched there. The pestilence faced by the British Army in the Crimea caused a scandal in the press at home. You might dodge the cannonball, or the bullet may miss its mark, but typhoid and dysentery always loomed ahead, waiting to strike you down.
Tumblr media
By the twentieth century, medical science had advanced just enough that you were more likely to die in the trenches than from sickness - at least until the 1918 Influenza reared its ugly head - but unpleasant afflictions could still strike a soldier at any time. Nowhere was this more true than on the peripheral fronts - Southern Africa, Salonika, Mesopotamia, Palestine and of course Gallipoli. The terrible sanitary conditions on the front line attracted vermin, and vermin carried disease - by the summer of 1915, anything from half to three quarters of the men on the peninsula had some kind of illness, and diarrhoea was omnipresent.
(I promise this blog will not be entirely about that, but the runs are important to my point here.)
Diarrhoea wasn’t just uncomfortable - it had an impact on the combat performance of troops. They grew weaker from dehydration, exacerbated by the limited water and the heat of Gallipoli in the late summer. The island staging bases of Lemnos and Imbros was no better - Robin Prior notes that upon the British 11th Division’s departure from Imbros to take part in the landings at Suvla Bay, nearly every man had contracted ‘a particularly weakening form of diarrhoea’ and were also suffering from the side effects of a cholera inoculation.
These illnesses were not the reason for the failure of the campaign - the plan was fatally flawed from conception, and the direction of the August Campaign had been bungled before the first troops left their start lines - but it does play a role in the mythology of the campaign.
Remember how I said we’d mention Charles Bean again? Bean is a great example of a historical ‘problematic fave.’ He had a clear empathy for Australian troops, and his vision for the Australian War Memorial was laudably democratic and egalitarian in nature. His official history of the Australian Imperial Force is a mammoth work of historical literature. Yet he was also very much a man of his time - apart from his casual antisemitism , he was, like many educated men, a believer in eugenics. Bean saw the ailing British soldiers of the August campaign and saw confirmation of what he probably already believed - that the urban poor of Great Britain had degenerated. ‘After 100 years of breeding in the slums, the British race is not the same’ as it had been at Waterloo, he wrote, and that Britain had bred ‘one fine class [the upper class] at the expense of the rest.’
Tumblr media
It should be noted that this was a private diary entry, and there were a great many British men who would have agreed with him - there was an obsession with urban degeneracy in the first years of the twentieth century. Yet the converse of this - the idea of the big, strong, manly Anzac, which was already being stoked by Bean and the British journalist Ashmead-Bartlett - has stuck around in the Anzac legend, and echoes of Bean’s private sentiment remain. I remember being told in high school about how Australians were huge and bronzed, while British soldiers were all short, stunted coal miners. I don’t think my teacher knew they were parroting eugenist ideas from the 1910s; I don’t think most people really think about it.
I’m sure this came out more than a little incoherent, as I’m still on the mend, but I thought I ought to put pen to paper on this line of thinking before I forgot. I just think there’s a benefit to thinking historically about myths, even ones that seem harmless. They all come from somewhere.
And on that note, carrots aren’t actually good for your eyesight. The RAF made that one up to prevent people from finding out they had radar.

Daughter of a Cornwall copper miner, 5x bride, free Australian immigrant, resident of far north Queensland, mother of 3, laundress worker, and short-term resident of New Zealand's north island. All this in 55 years of life...
With her azure and hypnotic eyes, skin of the finest British porcelain and genteel carriage Elizabeth was a remarkably attractive woman, and upon drinking in such a sightly image as hers, one shan't too easily forget such a visage.
Born Elizabeth Ann Burrows in St. Ives to Cornwall copper miner and wife, Joseph and Amelia respectively, in 1859, Elizabeth experienced a stable, steady middle class life in Victoria's Britain. The census for the year 1861 records the family residing in St Ive and employing a 12 year old maid named Elizabeth, who was employed to tend to the Burrow's then two young children, Elizabeth and younger brother William. Tin and copper mining was, of course, a significant part of the Cornish economy in the 19th century. Both Joseph and Amelia (nee Staple) Burrows were natives of Cornwall.
At age 17, Elizabeth wed Norfolk gent Valentine Plane; it would be the first of 5 marriages which, whilst divorce or widowhood was not the rarity many tend to believe it was in the Victorian era, five walks down the isle for a woman who lived 55 years was rather a noteworthy occurrence. The Elizabeth Taylor of the 19th century, perhaps? Was she offing these fellows as they slumbered in the marital bed? Arsenic in the tea and scones? Did she feed each one to her cats and maintain her innocence and put on grieving widower effects? Nay...
Plane, her first husband, was recorded as a passenger to New York in 1878, without Elizabeth and no mention of her as his wife. In 1881, she hopped aboard, in Plymouth, the immigrant steamer 'Chyebassa' (which two of my relatives also had passenger tickets on, in the very same decade...) as part of the U.K and Australia's 'assisted immigrant' scheme of the late 19th century. There, she arrived in Cooktown, Queensland, and had this astounding portrait taken of herself. A new life, a new world, and a portrait to remember such a significant and momentous journey. One can only assume Elizabeth's first husband, Valentine, either passed or the couple divorced. I cannot find a record on Valentine's date of death and therefore can only speculate (spousal desertion? Or should we cling onto the deliciously macabre 'fed to the felines' explanation?)
Now, less than 1 month after her arrival in Queensland, Elizabeth wed Chilean-born chap Frank Donald Cruize. They had a daughter, Amelia, born in 1883. Cruize passed later the same year of fever and congestion and the lungs and kidneys. After the birth of her first babe, the death of her second husband, Elizabeth, the very same year, wed for a third time to a fellow named John Kerr Liddy. This marriage produced two daughters, Jane and later Rachel (who survived only a month). John Liddy passed in 1896, leaving Elizabeth a widow for at least the second time round. Four months later, she wed-again-Edward Finn. Yet Finn was also to experience an untimely death in the year 1900. In 1901, Elizabeth married Walter John Branson, a plasterer by trade, in Queensland. It appears the couple heard the call of New Zealand, and set off in about 1905, and stayed until the early 1910's in Wellington. Just before the call of the Great War, Elizabeth, back in Australia, was working as a laundress at the Royal Military Academy in Duntroon, New South Wales. It was here that she passed, in 1914, of a strangulated hernia and pneumonia, aged 55 years. I believe she may be buried in eternal rest in Canberra, Australia.
Elizabeth Plane, as fair as a mid-summer morn, as radiant as the bloom at dawn.
This image of Elizabeth Ann Burrows/Plane/Cruize/Liddy/Finn/Branson is held in the State Library of Queensland

Pest control professionals can help you identify and eliminate any pests that may be causing problems in your home. They can also advise you on the best ways to prevent pests from returning in the future. When it comes to pest control, there's no one-size-fits-all solution; so don't hesitate to consult with several different professionals to find the best fit for your needs.
How Does a Pest Control Service Work?
Summertime is a great time to get outside and enjoy the sun, but it can also be a nightmare when you have to deal with pests. Bugs can be a huge nuisance, and they can ruin your summer if you don't get them controlled. Pest control services work by using professional exterminators who will come out and do a detailed inspection of your home or business. They will then identify the bugs and how to get rid of them. This is an effective way to avoid having to deal with bugs all summer long, and it will help keep your home or business clean and pest-free.
Which Pest Control Services Are Available
From ants to bed bugs, there are a lot of pests that can invade your home this summer. And while some DIY solutions may work for small pests, hiring a professional Pest Control Deakin service is the best way to get rid of bigger problems and keep your home safe. Their products use sonic sound waves to zap pests without harming them or their surrounding environment. This allows you to avoid harmful chemicals and enjoy cleanliness without having to worry about pesky critters coming back again and again.
Costs of a Pest Control Service
Pest control is a necessary evil for those who live in areas where pests are present. While some people may be able to handle dealing with pests on their own, hiring a professional pest control service is always a better option. Here are the costs of hiring a professional pest control service:
-The cost of the service itself -The cost of any materials or products needed to eradicate the pests -The cost of labor (if hired through an outside contractor)
Conclusion
Summertime is a great time to relax and enjoy the outdoors, but it can also be ruined by pesky pests. Hiring a professional pest control service in Duntroon can help you protect your property and keep the peace while you're out enjoying nature. Pest control services use a variety of techniques to get rid of pests, including traps, poison applications, and exterminating methods. WMLP Dick was in an army. I am so curious about that experience. How old was he when Slade enlisted him? How long did he serve? Did he interact with Slade during that time? Did he get any warning Slade was going to force him to do this? Did he enjoy any of his time in a military? Did he make any friends?
Would I call this a spoiler? Yes and no. I never actually thought to unpack Dick's military training aside from maybe some ptsd flashbacks. So I think this one's safe lol.
So I got introduced to Deathstroke properly via the show Arrow so he's Australian to me which is fun and hilarious and not canon literally anywhere else from what I can tell. But it works for this fic universe because Slade's not about to enrol him in the us army cause there's way too much chance of being found out.
So Slade takes Dick to Australia and enrols him in their army. I wanna say officer entry, probably Duntroon cause the academy is like four years but I think the RMC is shorter. This is inconsequential. Dick gets thrown in at around seventeen. He's been broken in, he's killing, he's renegade, but he's still a little unruly and learning Slade's kind of discipline and he's at the perfect age for military training tactics to stick well. He forges him an identity that's of age and pulls all the strings and then Dick just gets handed his fake info and backstory and a bag of uniforms and provisions and dumped there with only the explanation that he's being trained and expected to top his class.
I haven't looked into ADF training stuff in ages but Aussie deserts and rainforests are some of the top training places cause of how extreme the landscape is as far as I'm aware. I also don't remember how long officer training is but I think if you're not going via the academy then it's like a year at most so he goes through that and then Slade makes sure he's sent off as soon as possible. Timeline wise I think Australia was still sending troops to the middle east during this time so Dick probably has a couple placements around the place and works his way up really quickly. Slade shows up every now and then to remind him to keep it up and that eventually he'll be pulled out and can come home. Dick of course gets time he's not deployed and during that time Slade brings him back as Renegade and brings him on so many missions. After maybe three years total Slade pulls him out.
I don't think Dick enjoyed it much. It was probably great at first to have time away from Slade but he's been well manipulated at this point and would start missing Slade pretty quickly. He also hated being ordered around by someone other than Slade.
I think some people probably decided they were friends, like a handful of fellow cadets were like 'that one. He's cool'. But most of them would've hated Dick cause he was always top of the class.
I think maybe Dick would have been lucky to find one person he liked and enjoyed the company of. They get each other through it all. This friend gets deployed with him, they're side by side, keeping each other sane. Dick swears he'll do everything in his power to make sure his friend gets home to his family.
When Slade pulls him out he kidnaps the friend and makes Dick shoot him.
