Headcanon: Dreamling

So we're all in agreement that Hob's default endearments for Dream are: duck / love / dove. He's so used to saying them that it's practically instinct at this point.

Before Hob's students found out his name, a bunch of them actually legit thought that Dream's name was "Duck."

I mean, Duck of the Endless does have a certain ring to it.

I know people like pairing Aziraphale with the 10th Doctor because he just looks like Crowley, but I'm wondering how absolutely fucked would it be if Aziraphale and the 8th Doctor were horrible and I mean HORRIBLE book(shop) buddies.

However, all of the hardships he had experienced that day had been blown away without him realising it. The scene before him was so beautiful that he wanted to engrave it into his eyes, and his heart was filled with an unbearable heat.

Redrew the illustration in chapter 6 of their novel! These two have me in a chokehold every day of my life and I can’t count the amount of times I’ve combusted reading this scene

History Class Cryptids: More Footnotes and Snippets

1.  It has been observed that Hob Gadling's favorite endearments for Dream of the Endless are love or duck, depending on his frame of mind at the moment.  It's become so much of a habit, that it's practically become interchangeable with Dream's own name.

2.  There were a considerable number of Hob's students who had originally thought that Dream's actual name was "Duck" before they found out that it was supposedly "Thomas Murphy."  At least, this was before they found out said "Goth Angel boyfriend is a legit cryptid who can probably make us have nightmares for the rest of our lives even if 'Duck of the Endless' does have a certain ring to it."  Everyone agreed not to ever mention it again, which of course meant that Hob would eventually learn about it.  

3.  Dream's reaction was something along the lines of:  "I shall consider it, should I find myself in the process of finally changing my name and function."  A beat.  "Quack."  

4.  Dream has been seen wearing a black t-shirt, gifted to him by Hob's students, with a duck printed on it.  Somehow, little Daniel Hall ended up with a similar shirt.  Said shirt may or may not have been created for him by a certain Dream Lord.  

5.  Matthew would like it to be known that he'd rather stay a raven, thank you very much, than turn into a duck.  

6.  Lucienne did end up getting another Library assistant, a fuzzy feathered dream that again resembled a Muppet version of a duck.  The duck's name was Fauntleroy.  

has anyone talked about the whole yin/yang thing imogen and laudna have going on? imogen's physically bright and light (hair and clothes) where laudna is dark and scary. but personality wise laudna is more light and friendly to (nearly) everyone she meets, generally positive minded / looking for a bright side of things. meanwhile imogen is wary and cautious, a bit intimidating, and definitely prone to being quiet when meeting new people (assessing the situation / figuring out if the person could be trusted or not).

obviously it kept them alive when they were on their own, but I wonder if they fell into place like two puzzle pieces when they met. just like 'oh, you're meant to help me through all this'

so, like, when they were separated, they weren't out of sorts just because their tether, nor their love, was gone and they didn't know if the other was alive. they'd lost their balance, their sense of true north was suddenly gone...and it was so much worse than what it was like before they'd ever met.

The idea of "Mystery and Love wanted to pay a visit to Kim's world" just ended up as a trip in the multiverse of my mind (and fandoms), nothing more to add 🌚

I can totally see Love as a clown-lover, tho.
